At the sentencing of Ghislaine Maxwell, the impact statements read by her victims painted a stark portrait of lifelong harm, trauma, and betrayal. They described how Maxwell's grooming and facilitation of abuse destroyed their trust in their own judgment, left them wracked with shame and guilt, and haunted them with nightmares, panic attacks, and suicidal thoughts. One victim spoke of how Maxwell “lulled” her into a false sense of safety before abuse, triggering waves of shame and anxiety for decades; others recounted how their lives were derailed, their sense of safety permanently shattered, and their voices suppressed over years of silence. The lawsuit by Epstein survivors against the U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI) originated from the territory's own legal efforts to hold accountable those who allegedly enabled Epstein's sex trafficking enterprise there. In January 2020, the USVI's then–Attorney General, Denise George, filed suit in the Virgin Islands Superior Court, accusing Epstein, his estate, and related entities of operating a decades-long sex trafficking conspiracy on his private islands, using a network of shell companies and concealing crimes through financial and legal maneuvers.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.com

Crash or Crack? Zillow's Legal Storm, CoStar Feud & Housing Market Mayhem FTC slaps Zillow & Redfin with an antitrust lawsuit The FTC accuses Zillow of paying Redfin $100 million to exit the rental advertising space, shutting down competition for nearly a decade. Redfin allegedly gave up ad partnerships, helped Zillow poach employees, and agreed to syndicate only Zillow's listings. What's at stake: advertising pricing power, renters' choice, and whether Big Tech in real estate just got too big. CoStar strikes back: Zillow accused of rampant photo theft CoStar claims Zillow unlawfully used more than 46,000 of its copyrighted photos — even with watermarks — across Zillow, Redfin, and Realtor.com syndication networks. Zillow has already started removing images at the center of the case. This could become one of the largest copyright battles the real estate industry has ever seen. Real estate data digest — warning signs everywhere • Pending home sales posted their first meaningful monthly decline in months, despite mortgage rates easing slightly. • Luxury home prices jumped 4% to a median of $1.25M, even as overall sales hit the lowest August level in more than a decade. • Starter-home sales are up, as buyers look for affordability in a shifting market. • The share of mortgages with rates above 6% is at a 10-year high. • Refinance demand plunged 21% as rates hit a 3-week high. • Even homeowners with sub-4% mortgages are on the move, often turning to new builds to lock in incentives. What this means for agents, buyers & markets going forward We break down the legal risks, competitive threats, and strategic pivots needed to survive in a volatile real estate tech era — plus some bold predictions for what comes next.

-(00:39) Alphabet will pay President Donald Trump $22 million as part of a settlement in a class action lawsuit brought against the company over the suspension of various YouTube accounts following the January 6 riot at the US capitol. -(02:34) In a development that should surprise no one, OpenAI is preparing to release a standalone social app powered by its upcoming Sora 2 video model, Wired reports. The app reportedly "closely resembles" TikTok, with a vertical video feed and swipe-to-scroll navigation. The catch? It will only feature AI-generated content. -(04:46) Researchers have discovered major security flaws with Tile tracking tags, according to a report by Wired. These flaws could allow both the company itself and tech-savvy stalkers to track a user's location. The security issue could also let a malicious actor falsely frame a Tile owner for stalking, as the flaw can make it appear as if a particular tag is constantly in the vicinity of somebody else's tag. Ian Maxwell asserted that Andrew had “no option” but to settle the case against Roberts, arguing that the allegations would have caused “immense pain” to the Queen and that Andrew needed to “fold his tent” and do the “best he could” by the Crown. According to Maxwell, the settlement was in part driven by concerns over the monarchy's reputation and the personal embarrassment and stress the scandal was bringing to the royal family. He also suggested that social pressures — including the #MeToo movement and evolving societal norms about believing victims — made a trial even more perilous.Maxwell's remarks drew attention to the optics of a royal figure choosing to settle rather than contest the accusations in court. He framed the move as less about guilt or innocence and more about damage control, portraying Andrew's decision as one made under duress from public, familial, and institutional pressures.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-moscow-murders-and-more--5852883/support.

On the morning of October 12, 2013, 23-year-old Army veteran Christian Griggs went to his in-laws' property in Angier, North Carolina to pick up his young daughter, Jaden. At 10:54 a.m., he called his father Tony to say that his father-in-law, Reverend Pat Chisenhall, was yelling at him while his estranged wife Katie hid inside the house. Six minutes later, at 11:00 a.m., Tony arrived at the Chisenhall home to find his son lying face-down, bleeding and unresponsive. Pat had shot him six times with a .22 rifle. Once in the abdomen, once on the top of his left shoulder, and four times in the back. Christian was rushed to the hospital, where he was soon pronounced dead. As his family struggled to process the sudden loss, detectives began piecing together what had happened that fateful morning. What they uncovered were conflicting accounts, multiple 911 calls, and questions that would haunt the case for years to come. On this episode of Conduct Detrimental: THE Sports Law Podcast, Dan Lust (@SportsLawLust) , Mike Kravchenko (Watch on YouTube) and Bryce Goodwyn (@BryceGoodwyn) return after a brief hiatus to tackle three major legal stories that unfolded while they were away. The trio kicks off with an analysis of the Jimmy Kimmel temporary suspension from ABC, the First Amendment implications, and his eventual return to the air. Dan walks through the framework around free speech in media, while Bryce draws parallels to landmark constitutional cases, emphasizing how these precedents protect expression even when controversial.Next, Mike breaks down the Sauce Gardner defamation case, where the Jets cornerback was sued by a New Jersey woman over a Twitter exchange involving OnlyFans allegations. The court ultimately dismissed the case under New Jersey's new anti-SLAP protections, awarding Gardner over $50,000 in attorney's fees. The trio debates whether the case was truly frivolous and discusses the broader implications for athlete-fan interactions on social media. Finally, Bryce provides an update on Diego Pavia's ongoing eligibility battle with the NCAA. The Vanderbilt quarterback's antitrust challenge to the five-year eligibility rule recently reached the Sixth Circuit, with arguments focusing on whether junior college years should count toward eligibility limits. Dan and Bryce express concerns about the blurring lines between college and professional sports, questioning where reasonable limits should be drawn. The episode wraps with "What to Watch For" covering professional players entering college athletics and international student-athletes' NIL rights.
