Global Unity defeats New World OrderRelaxing after an intense day, Mark and I would often get into deep discussions on how the New World Order could be effectively unraveled. We each had different perspectives, priorities, and ideas on how that could possibly be accomplished which added dimension to a vast array of potential SOULutions.Mark and I agreed that the first  step would be to identify the problem that defines the New World Order. The New World Order is a slave society agenda that uses trauma based mind control as the means of ushering it in. Knowledge is our defense against mind control, and ultimately the New World Order. As humanity wakes up to reality and reclaims free thought, the world naturally unites in light of truth. Mark determined that people would be slow to recognize the difference between New World Order and world unity until they understood mind control. This dichotomy seemed oxymoronic. What would break the spell of New World Order mind control over the masses long enough for them to wake up, reclaim free thought, and unite against their oppressors? To compound the felony, mind control is designed to keep people looking outside themselves to Big Government to fix our problems for us. Deep State Big Government is not going to stop the New World Order – they are the New World Order! The New World Order is a 100 year plan that began in Adolph Hitler's Nazi Germany.  Nazi and Fascist scientists were imported into the US in the wake of WWII through Project Paperclip. With them came the formula for MK Ultra mind control to implement what Hitler, Bush, Biden, and self appointed self anointed global leaders term New World Order. Knowledge is our defense against mind control, so secrecy and censorship are crucial to their success. Hence the reason for secret societies, secret meetings, and the need for blackmail to ensure secrecy. The 1947 National Security Act was designed to keep their secrets and cover their crimes while the CIA was formed at the same time for enforcement. Now that these dark secrets are finally coming to light, mind control's spell is breaking. People are waking up to embrace free thought. With free thought comes free will soul expression and the capacity for wisdom. Wisdom outthinks their criminal minds every time. With wisdom comes the ability to gather the strength of the human spirit and infinite power of love. It is on this level that humanity naturally unites. United in purpose with knowledge that is our defense against mind control, humanity's victory in unraveling the New WORLD Order worldwide is inevitable. It is time to remember who we are and why we are here. Ultimately mind control is a spiritual battle, whereby the difference between the New World Order and global unity is dark and light, evil vs good, hate vs. love, slavery vs freedom.  PerpeTraitors hellbent on this slave society agenda fear the strength of the human spirit. It's where we win and where they lose. Strength of the human spirit's infinite source of love is the most powerful force in the universe. They cannot possess nor eradicate our innate energy source, they can only inhibit our ability to think to express it through mind control. The formula for mind control is the same whether it is of an individual, a classroom, military, nation, or the world. Trauma is the basis of it, and it was found through Hitler/Himmler research there is no trauma more horrific on the human mind than sexual abuse of child prior to age 5 while the brain is still forming. Trauma shuts down neuron pathways in the brain necessary for free thought critical analysis, which heightens suggestibility for a complaint society. Read full article on Cathy's website Here!

USAID unterstützte u.a. This Day in Legal History: National Security Act of 1947On July 25, 1947, Congress passed the National Security Act of 1947, a landmark legislation that restructured the United States' military and intelligence operations in the post-World War II era. This pivotal act established the National Security Council (NSC), which would advise the President on security matters, and created the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to gather and analyze foreign intelligence. The Act also led to the formation of the Department of Defense, unifying the previously separate Department of War and Department of the Navy, and creating the National Military Establishment. This new establishment comprised three separate departments: the Army, the Navy, and the newly-formed United States Air Force. Additionally, the Joint Chiefs of Staff were established to ensure coordinated military strategy among the services. The National Security Act of 1947 fundamentally reshaped the U.S. defense and intelligence framework, reflecting the changing nature of global threats and the need for a cohesive national security strategy in the early Cold War period. This legislation laid the foundation for the modern American military and intelligence community, shaping U.S. defense policy for decades to come.Walt Disney Co. must face a lawsuit backed by Elon Musk over the firing of Gina Carano, a former star of “The Mandalorian.” A federal judge in Los Angeles, Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett, ruled against Disney's motion to dismiss the case, stating that Disney did not prove that employing Carano was an act of First Amendment-protected expressive association. The judge noted that Disney had not shown evidence that it hires actors to promote values like respect, decency, integrity, or inclusion. The case will explore California's protections for employees' political activities outside of work. Carano, a former mixed martial artist, argues she was dismissed due to her political views, which clashed with the show's audience on social media. The incident that led to her firing was a February 2021 Instagram post comparing the treatment of Trump supporters to that of Jews during the Holocaust. Carano claims her male co-stars were not disciplined for their liberal-leaning posts, even when they also referenced the Holocaust. Strained logic, but we live in a time of strained logic.Judge Garnett found that Carano sufficiently alleged her firing could have been to deflect criticism from Disney's business practices and reorganization under former CEO Bob Chapek. Schaer Jaffe LLP represents Carano, while O'Melveny and Myers LLP represents Disney, Lucasfilm, and Huckleberry Industries. The case is Carano v. Walt Disney, C.D. Cal., No. 24-cv-1009, 7/24/24.Disney Must Fight Musk-Backed ‘Mandalorian' Actor Firing SuitThe U.S. Senate is set to vote on two online safety bills targeting the protection of children and teens on social media. Scheduled for Thursday, these bills have garnered broad bipartisan support and are expected to pass. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer emphasized the importance of updating safety measures to address current online threats to children. The Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) aims to mandate social media platforms to offer minors options to safeguard their information and deactivate addictive features by default. It also imposes a legal duty on companies to mitigate risks such as suicide and disordered eating among minors. The Children and Teens' Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA 2.0) proposes a ban on targeted advertising to minors and data collection without their consent. It also allows parents and children to delete their information from social media platforms. These bills represent the first significant legislative efforts to ensure online safety for children since the original COPPA was enacted in 1998. Tech companies like Microsoft and Snap have shown support for these initiatives, while Meta Platforms suggested that federal law should require app stores to seek parental approval for downloads by users under 16.US Senate set to vote on two child online safety bills | ReutersBoeing has finalized a guilty plea to a criminal fraud conspiracy charge and will pay at least $243.6 million for breaching a 2021 agreement with the U.S. Justice Department. This breach involved allowing potentially risky work at its factories and not ensuring accurate or complete airplane record keeping. Boeing admitted to conspiring to defraud the Federal Aviation Administration by making false representations about key software for the 737 MAX.The Justice Department found Boeing violated the deferred prosecution agreement after a January in-flight panel blowout on an Alaska Airlines 737 MAX exposed ongoing safety and quality issues. Additionally, Boeing disclosed false stamping at its 787 plant in South Carolina, leading to further investigations. The company also failed to ensure proper sequence in airplane manufacturing, increasing the risk of defects.By way of very brief background, "false stamping" refers to the practice of improperly marking or certifying parts or components as meeting required safety and quality standards when they do not. This fraudulent activity can involve the use of counterfeit certification stamps or documentation to falsely indicate that a part has passed necessary inspections and tests. Such actions undermine the integrity of the aircraft manufacturing process, potentially compromising the safety and reliability of the airplanes.Boeing agreed to pay a maximum fine of $487.2 million, with a credit for its previous $243.6 million payment, and will spend at least $455 million over the next three years to enhance safety and compliance programs. An independent monitor will oversee Boeing's compliance, with annual progress reports made public. Families of the 737 MAX crash victims can file objections before Judge Reed O'Connor, who will decide on accepting the deal and potential restitution. Boeing's board must also meet with the victims' families within four months of sentencing.Boeing finalizes 737 MAX guilty plea deal, US outlines reasons | ReutersUnited States v. The Boeing Company (4:21-cr-00005)The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is set to implement updates to its health data breach notification rule on July 29, which could lead to increased litigation for companies providing health-related services through mobile apps. These amendments, finalized in April, extend the rule's coverage to companies that aggregate health information from multiple sources, which are not currently governed by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).The rule mandates that businesses must notify affected individuals and the FTC within 60 days of discovering a breach affecting 500 or more people. Non-compliance could result in civil penalties of up to $51,744 per violation. The FTC's amendments broaden the rule's scope, potentially transforming it from a data security breach rule to a consent requirement for sharing health data.Legal experts have raised concerns about the FTC's lack of a precise definition for "authorized access," which could complicate compliance and lead to fines and litigation. Despite stakeholders' requests for clearer guidelines, the FTC only stated that unauthorized disclosures might include the sharing or selling of consumer information inconsistent with a company's stated policies. The expanded rule could cover around 170,000 additional entities, though industry groups believe this number may be higher. Many of these entities might need to develop robust notification programs, as the new requirements mark unfamiliar territory for some. The updated rule could also increase lawsuits against healthcare-related businesses for exposing user data to third-party advertisers. For example, enforcement actions against GoodRx and Easy Healthcare Corp. cited breaches due to sharing health information with advertisers via pixel tracking technology. The FTC's broad interpretation of "unauthorized access" has significant implications. If a company's privacy policy is not sufficiently descriptive regarding data collection and sharing, the FTC may consider it an unauthorized disclosure. This aggressive stance by the FTC necessitates careful attention from industry players. The rule also raises questions about who is responsible for reporting breaches concerning personal health records (PHR). Companies might struggle to determine whether they are acting as downstream service providers or PHR-related entities, complicating their compliance obligations.FTC Health Breach Rule's New Updates May Spur More Litigation This is a public episode. EPISODE 187 DETAILS   Cattle Management: Hot vs Barbed Wire. Agridime Cattle Ponzi Scheme Latest News   ELECTRIC HOT WIRE VS. BARBED WIRE Maximizing Agricultural Efficiency: The Advantages of Rotational Grazing Rotational grazing offers numerous benefits for sustainable farming. By moving livestock between paddocks according to a strategic schedule, farmers allow forage crops to rejuvenate, replenish energy reserves, and enhance plant vigor, leading to long-term maximum production. The key to a successful rotational grazing system lies in its flexibility. Utilizing a highly-movable temporary fence and understanding its proper use are crucial for maximizing the benefits and maintaining an efficient grazing routine. Optimize Your Grazing Strategy Implementing a well-designed rotational grazing system can lead to healthier livestock and more productive land. Explore the essentials of rotational grazing and discover how to enhance your agricultural practices for sustainable success.   A Comprehensive Guide to Temporary Electric Fence Wires: Polywire vs. Polytape When it comes to temporary electric fencing, two main types are available: polywire and polytape. Both options consist of fine metal filaments intertwined with polyethylene or polypropylene fibers, with the metal providing the shock and the plastic ensuring strength and visibility.   Choosing the Right Polywire for Your Needs For short-distance applications, such as subdividing a pasture, a six-strand polywire is typically sufficient. However, for longer distances or areas prone to overgrowth from weeds and grass, opt for a polywire that delivers a stronger shock to ensure effective containment.   The Benefits of Polytape Polytapes are known for their superior visibility, particularly in white. If you're experiencing inadequate animal control with polywire or need better visibility for safety reasons, such as fencing for horses, switching to polytape can be beneficial. Although polytape may be more expensive, the improved control and visibility often justify the cost.   Essential Tools: Electric Fence Reels For ease of use and flexibility, especially if you plan to adjust paddock sizes frequently, an electric fence reel is indispensable. These reels, made from weather-resistant plastic, can hold one to two spools of polywire or polytape, making it easy to move and reconfigure your temporary fencing as needed.   Explore the best practices for using polywire and polytape to optimize your temporary electric fencing system, ensuring maximum efficiency and control for your livestock management.    Cattle Industry News: Agridime Ponzi Scheme, NCBA response to Farm Bill, TSCRA Relief Fund   AGRIDIME: NORTH DAKOTA GROUP MAY BUY CATTLE COMPANY THAT OWES MILLIONS According to the Bismarck Tribune, Jeff Beach/North Dakota Monitor, a North Dakota rancher said he is working on a deal for a small group of investors to take over a cattle and beef marketing business that was labeled a Ponzi scheme and owes North Dakotans millions of dollars. Wylie Bice, who ranches near Killdeer, said the group is close on a final price for Texas-based Agridime, with the goal of making it an asset to North Dakota ranchers. Bice said he hopes the group can close on a deal by July 1 to take over Agridime facilities in Texas, Arizona and Kansas. He told the North Dakota Monitor he hopes North Dakota can supply about 60% of the cattle that the business will need -- about 10,000 head per year. Bice, who is among the investors who lost money with Agridime, said the group includes a former business partner of his who is in Texas and would come out of retirement to help manage the company. In December, the Securities and Exchange Commission accused the company of operating as a Ponzi scheme by taking money from new investors to pay off previous investors instead of investing that money into cattle. The cattle were to be fed until reaching market weight and then processed. Agridime would then market the meat directly to consumers. A court-appointed receiver has been trying to determine what assets remain for the company that owes millions of dollars to investors and cattle producers in 14 states. In the first quarterly report, posted May 1 on the Agridime.com website, the receiver, Steven Fahey of Texas, said it was involved in “serious discussions with a North Dakota-based investor group.” The group would purchase the assets of the company, including the remaining meat and cattle inventory. The report said a sale could be submitted for court approval by mid-June. The retail and wholesale meat business would continue under the American Grazed Beef name. Meat sales were moved from the Agridime site to a site using the American Grazed Beef name. Bice said it was not likely to move any operations to North Dakota, instead using the existing warehouses in Texas, Arizona and Kansas that are closer to large retail markets such as Dallas-Fort Worth and Phoenix. “I like the concept of it,” Bice said. “Their online plan was really good.” While operating as American Grazed Beef, “The company has been doing pretty decent for just idling along,” Bice said. The report notes that the number of Agridime employees has dropped from 83 to 40 while under receivership. More bang? Bice said it is possible the company could again involve Taylor Bang. Bang is a longtime cattle broker from Killdeer who also operated as a sales agent for Agridime. “He's a very good salesman, and I sure hope he can stay involved with us,” Bice said. The North Dakota Securities Department said Bang earned $6 million in commissions from unregistered cattle investment contracts through Agridime. Bang told the North Dakota Monitor in December that the figure was “way high.” Agridime offered people the chance to invest in the cattle industry, offering returns of as much as 30% without having to do the work involved with raising and marketing cattle. Agridime said the money would be invested in calves that would be raised for beef sales. But investors were not actually buying cattle or given information, such as ear tag numbers, about the calves they were investing in. The Securities and Exchange Commission said in its complaint that Agridime executives started using that investment money for other purposes instead of investing in cattle, turning the operation into a Ponzi scheme. A Securities Department official estimated that North Dakotans have lost about $40 million in Agridime investments. The quarterly update also includes lists of transactions, assets and creditors, though addresses are not included with the creditors. The creditors list includes Bice and Bang and several others with the last name Bang. North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring said that while Agridime's license to buy cattle in the state has been revoked, Bang still has a license to broker cattle as an individual. Goehring said he thought the idea of buying out Agridime was “odd.” “Why would you not just start over?” Goehring wondered. Bice said money from the sale of the company would go to paying off creditors. If there is no deal, the receiver said it would likely submit a liquidation plan by July 31. Bice said he has visited the Agridime facilities and is excited about the possibility. “Usually, I'm invested in stuff I know nothing about,” Bice said. “I know something about this.” Other developments Assets: The May 1 update from the receiver says, as of March 31, there were about 3,387 head of cattle on feedlots in several states. The receiver in February said there were about 6,500 head of Agridime-owned cattle. The update notes that “records as to the quantity and location of its cattle were sparse and poorly maintained.” The update says there were about 841,000 pounds of beef stored at Agridime's warehouses in Arizona, Kansas and Texas as of March 31. Lawsuit: Another federal agency announced May 14 that it is taking legal action against Agridime. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission said it has filed a civil enforcement action in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas against Agridime and its founders, Joshua Link and Jed Wood. The CFTC said it is seeking restitution for defrauded customers, civil penalties, trading bans, and a permanent injunction against further violations of the Commodity Exchange Act and the agency's regulations. The CFTC says Agridime received more than $161 million from over 2,000 customers in 14 states. That is $30 million less than the SEC's estimate of $191 million in its complaint filed in December. Judgment: The Securities and Exchange Commission in April obtained a judgment on Link and Wood that prevents them from selling securities. The SEC will determine a civil penalty in the future. NCBA COMMENDS HOUSE AGRICULTURE COMMITTEE FOR PASSING FARM BILL The National Cattlemen's Beef Association (NCBA) thanked the House Agriculture Committee for passing the next Farm Bill, known as the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2024. This Farm Bill includes top priorities for cattle farmers and ranchers including cattle health, voluntary conservation, and food security provisions.   “Cattle producers are thankful that the House Agriculture Committee has advanced a Farm Bill that delivers on the needs of rural America,” said NCBA President and Wyoming rancher Mark Eisele. “This Farm Bill protects the cattle industry from foreign animal disease, supports producers' voluntary conservation efforts, and safeguards our food supply, recognizing that our food security is national security. On behalf of cattle farmers and ranchers across the country, thank you to Chairman Thompson and the House Agriculture Committee for passing this bill. I hope the full House will take the next step and pass this bill soon.”     TSCRA DISASTER RELIEF FUND DISTRIBUTES $900,000 Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association has announced the distribution of $900,000 in financial assistance through the TSCRA Disaster Relief Fund. This signifies the first of ongoing financial assistance going directly to cattle raisers impacted by the largest wildfire in Texas history.  “Funds are on the way to ranching families affected by these fires, and we will continue to quickly distribute much more funding to those in need for as long as it takes to help them to rebuild,” said TSCRA President Carl Ray Polk Jr. The distribution of funds comes after thousands of individuals and businesses came together to generously donate to the TSCRA Disaster Relief Fund in support of cattle raisers facing staggering losses. Recent data from the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service estimates the region faced agricultural losses totaling $123 million. This includes losses of livestock, equipment, fencing, hay, feed and more. The TSCRA Disaster Relief Fund continues to accept applications for financial aid from landowners and cattle raisers in disaster-declared counties in Texas and Oklahoma. TikTok is a powerful social media tool in the United States. About 170 million Americans use the platform and for many marketing and PR agencies it's the preferred go to tool. The average time on TikTok in 2024, per user, is estimated to be 58 minutes per day. But several governments have banned TikTok from being used on Government devices – including the United States, Canada, the UK and Australia. In India, TikTok is banned altogether. In late April 2024, President Biden signed a bill into law that has bipartisan support. It's called the National Security Act, 2024. Under the new law, ByteDance, the owner of TikTok, has until late January 2025 to divest itself of TikTok and find new ownership for the social media company. TikTok is fighting back saying the law is unconstitutional. Propaganda has always been an issue in our societies, but the problem is becoming a much bigger challenge today. Recently, a British man was charged over an arson plot targeting a Ukrainian business after he was allegedly recruited to act for the mercenary group, Wagner. He will face trial under the UK's new National Security Act, the first time a case will be brought under this new legislation, designed to crack down on foreign agents. But this isn't the only incident. A more serious Russian campaign of sabotage is spanning the whole of Europe, with signal interference in the air and at sea. The challenge is this hostile action from Russia is becoming gradually normalized, because it appears that nobody is willing or able to deal with it. Of course, this isn't just happening in Europe, with China on a propaganda offensive around the world, as well as Americans being targeted by foreign propagandists using the internet and social media to fill minds with untruths. Unfortunately, they are lapping it up.  It appears a bored, listless and fearful society is definitely a successful feeding ground for disinformation, and we will all suffer its impact if we don't get a handle on the situation. To help us dig into this fascinating topic, we are very happy to welcome Taryn-Lee Kearney, the Chief Executive Director of Aha Training and Development. Taryn is based in Johannesburg, South Africa, and is an industrial psychologist, global speaker, a multifaceted facilitator and consultant, as well as a mental health advocate. The Know Show is a Livestream held every fortnight on Friday, where Andrea T Edwards, Tim Wade and Joe Augustin, and at least one special guest, review the news that's getting everyone's attention, as well as perhaps what requires our attention. Hello, and welcome to episode 106 of the Financial Crime Weekly Podcast, I'm Chris Kirkbride. This week has been yet another busy week for financial crime – the busiest ever – at least I'm no longer ill. The United States Air Force Security Service (USAFSS) was created in October 1948, just 13 months after the recognition of the Air Force as a separate branch with the enactment of the National Security Act of 1947. Cloaked in secrecy, it arose out of a need for air-minded intelligence that just wasn't being provided by the Army or the Navy. Our good friend and fellow podcaster Philip Shackelford is in the studio to discuss his new book Rise of the Mavericks: The U.S. Air Force Security Service and the Cold War, which takes a foundational look at the creation and development of the Security Service that is the forerunner of modern-day intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, as well as communications and cyber intelligence and security. Phil joins podcast host Ron Granieri to examine his personal connection to the USAFSS, the roadblocks he encountered researching the topic, and his transition into the podcasting world as the creator and host of The Modern Scholar Podcast.

Norway becomes top gas supplier to Europe after Russia invasion

In Europe's rush to wean itself off of Russian energy since the invasion of Ukraine, Norway has become an increasingly important supplier.Last year, the Nordic energy powerhouse became the top exporter of natural gas to Europe, boosting its production by about 8%. And with prices high, government revenues from the oil sector nearly tripled last year. These boom times are apparent in the west coast city of Stavanger, Norway's energy capital. The city government is using some of its budget windfall to make public transit free for residents, and the hustle and bustle has returned to the city after a pandemic lull. "The activity has definitely increased the last couple of years," said Kolbjørn Andreassen, who works for the industry group Offshore Norge. Andreassen, walking through a humming downtown harbor area near the city's well-preserved historic center, said that traffic jams are back and dinner reservations have grown harder to nab. "If you go to a restaurant today and try to book a table, the most-popular restaurants will be fully booked,” he said. “Even on Mondays.”Those inside the industry say conversations and attitudes about the oil and gas industry have shifted since the war in Ukraine started. Jez Averty, a vice president at Equinor, which produces more than two-thirds of Norway's oil and gas, said he believes their product is now seen as more important than it was before the war.  "It was probably important before. But it was a lot less visible,” Averty said, adding that sky-rocketing energy prices and energy shortages changed that for many Norwegians. Last year, oil and gas production was named a "fundamental national function," and Averty pointed out some companies were brought under the country's National Security Act. Averty said that this move "illustrates how important, strategically important, the oil and gas industry is now considered both for Norway and how important that is for Europe."Kjersti Dahle, a director at the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate, saw the prewar conversation about oil and gas was focused on the harm it does to the environment. Now, she said, energy security is also part of the conversation. "The view of the oil and gas industry has become somewhat more balanced."Kjersti Dahl,  director at the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate"The view of the oil and gas industry has become somewhat more balanced,” Dahle said. Outside of Norway's energy capital, environmentalists and Green party members see what Dahle calls balance as a dangerous step backward for the country's climate policy. "If you go back to the autumn of 2021 with the huge climate marches, we really saw a change in the sentiment of the oil industry in Norway,” said Frode Pleym, the leader of Greenpeace Norway. A corresponding policy shift “started to actually move from nice words about climate to acting on climate.” Pleym said that all changed when Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. "Now, the argument was [that] Norway needs to be a stable producer of oil and gas to Europe," Frode said. "Otherwise, [Vladimir] Putin will hold Europe at ransom."There is indeed more investment going into the Norwegian oil and gas industry. In June, the government approved the development of 19 new oil and gas fields.Dahle at the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate said maintaining even current production levels would require increased investment in exploration and extraction technology. "In order to produce more, we need to find more, and we need to be able to produce more from the fields that are in production," she said.New oil and gas fields take years to develop, and once online, can operate for decades. Dahle and her colleagues say it's too early to say whether high prices and demand triggered by the war in Ukraine will mean more production in the future. But that's what climate activists are worried about. According to the International Energy Agency, building new fossil fuel projects will make meeting the world's most-ambitious climate target impossible."It's contradictory to the commitments we've made in the Paris Agreement," said Ingrid Liland, a leader with Norway's Green Party. "Contradictory to the goals we have for reducing climate emissions." Equinor, which the Norwegian government owns a majority stake in, plans to maintain its exploration levels for oil and gas. Averty said that the decision was made about two years ago, prior to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. "What I think the war in Ukraine did was show to the external world that this was, in fact, very necessary and significantly increased support for that decision,” Averty said. It increased support among some people. But others are suspicious that the war in Ukraine is providing an excuse to plan for more oil and gas drilling instead of winding it down.

In this day in history, July 25th, the National Security Act of 1947 was passed. The act linked the military and national security organizations and set the tone for the relationship between the two that persists to this day. The National Security Act of 1947, a cornerstone in the reorganization of the United States' foreign policy and military institutions, led to the establishment of significant bodies such as the National Security Council (NSC) and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The NSC was formed to discuss long-term and immediate national security issues, composed of high-ranking officials including the President, Vice President, Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, and Director of the CIA. Over time, the significance, autonomy, and influence of the NSC have varied depending on the presidential administration. For instance, Eisenhower used it for key foreign policy decisions, while Nixon and Kissinger transformed it into an active negotiation and decision-implementing organization. The act also birthed the CIA, which became the primary civilian intelligence-gathering entity, evolving from World War II's Office of Strategic Services and other small post-war intelligence organizations. Following this, the Defense Intelligence Agency emerged as the main military intelligence body. In a major reshuffling, the act merged the War Department and Navy Department into a unified Department of Defense, introducing the Department of the Air Force and placing all under the Secretary of Defense. However, individual service secretaries were retained for each military branch. The act was later amended in 1949, granting the Secretary of Defense greater control over individual services and their respective secretaries. As the complexity of compliance and regulatory requirements increases, public companies are increasingly seeking lawyers for their boards. This trend, dubbed the "golden age" for lawyers seeking board seats, arises due to the value of legal expertise in risk analysis and communication in a rapidly evolving regulatory environment. The introduction of lawyers to boardrooms is viewed as a significant asset, given the potential business opportunities and less concern about conflicts impacting current operations. Examples include former Homeland Security Department Chief Jeh Johnson, who serves on several corporate boards while also working as a partner at a law firm. The demand for legal expertise has been driven by market-changing events such as the pandemic, the rise of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity challenges, geopolitical concerns, and debates over environmental, social, and governance issues. Approximately 1,500 board seats open each year, offering lucrative compensation packages. However, the involvement of lawyers in corporate boards also brings potential conflicts of interest that require careful management, especially when companies have ongoing relationships with the lawyers' firms. Moreover, including lawyers as potential candidates for director roles has also assisted companies in responding to calls for greater boardroom diversity in terms of age, ethnicity, gender, and professional perspective. Despite the benefits, it is generally accepted that a lawyer can hold a maximum of three directorships in public companies due to potential conflict of interest. Overall, this shift towards legal expertise in the boardroom represents a significant transformation from previous perspectives, which viewed lawyers as having a too narrow or risk-oriented focus. It's the ‘Golden Age' for Lawyers Seeking Corporate Board SeatsElon Musk's recent decision to rename Twitter as X could face significant legal complications due to pre-existing trademarks owned by companies such as Meta and Microsoft. The letter X is widely used and cited in trademarks across various industries, making it prone to legal challenges. Josh Gerben, a trademark attorney, has identified almost 900 active U.S. trademark registrations that include the letter X. Trademark owners have the right to claim infringement if another brand's usage could lead to consumer confusion. Microsoft has held a trademark for the letter X in relation to its Xbox communication since 2003, while Meta owns a trademark for a blue and white letter X for software and social media usage. However, these companies would likely only pursue legal action if they believe Twitter's use of X threatens their own brand equity. If Musk succeeds in rebranding Twitter, others could still potentially claim 'X' for their own uses.Meta, Microsoft, hundreds more own trademarks to new Twitter name | ReutersU.S. law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan disclosed that one of its electronic discovery vendors fell victim to a cyber attack last year, potentially exposing client information. The firm clarified that the attack affected only "a small portion of our clients and matters" and did not impact its own network infrastructure. Fewer than 2,000 individuals were notified about the incident. The data breach occurred in a data center's network used by the firm for document management. Despite being unclear about the specifics of the personal data impacted, the firm has engaged cyber and forensic experts to better understand the extent of the breach and is collaborating with law enforcement authorities to prevent further breaches. This breach is another example of the cybersecurity challenges faced by law firms and other entities managing sensitive and confidential data.Quinn Emanuel reports cyber attack involving 'limited' client data | ReutersThe U.S. Justice Department has filed a lawsuit against Texas over floating barriers installed by the state in the Rio Grande river to prevent migrants from Mexico. The barriers were installed as part of Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott's Operation Lone Star initiative. They work as large incumbrances in the water, difficult to climb over and dangerous to swim under. If that sounds inhumane, as it is implicitly threatening migrants with death if they choose to try to make a crossing, that's because it is. The federal government alleges that Texas violated federal law by not obtaining necessary federal authorization to install the barrier, claiming it poses risks to navigation, public safety, and humanitarian concerns. The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court in the Western District of Texas, seeks to remove all obstructions, including the barrier and its related infrastructure. In response to the lawsuit, Governor Abbott accused the Biden administration of failing to enforce immigration laws. Abbott pledged to take the case to the Supreme Court if necessary. The initiative has also drawn criticism from Mexico, which claims the barrier violates a water treaty and may encroach on Mexican territory.US sues Texas over floating border barriers | ReutersIn this week's column I urge the IRS to enforce the limits of 501(c)(3) status, which prohibits charities and religious organizations from engaging in political campaign activity. I point to the recent example of a Las Vegas pastor who hosted a campaign rally for Donald Trump at his church. There is increasing cause for concern over the blurred line between advocacy and political involvement, as more non-profit organizations, including churches and policy think tanks, typically right wing churches and policy think tanks, engage in contentious political issues. The policy rationale behind not taxing religious organizations is the avoidance of government entanglement in religion. Religious organizations are categorized with charitable organizations stemming from the perception that they both provide secular benefits to their communities. The exemption from tax, then, is a kind of end-around for the government to encourage their works without overt sponsorship. It's worth noting there's one point of separation between charitable organizations and some religious organizations. Religious organizations that are deemed “churches” get an additional benefit that even charities don't enjoy: They don't need to file a yearly information return, known as Form 990. For instance, the Muslim Public Affairs Council is a religious organization, tax-exempt under 501(c)(3), but it's not designated as a church. It must file yearly financial reports detailing revenue, assets, expenses, and liabilities, among other things.Church status removes the public reporting requirement and obfuscates what sorts of revenue the organization is raising and where that revenue is being spent. In conjunction with unchecked involvement in the political process, this provides a uniquely dangerous inroad for dark money into politics. In sum, the “church” designation is particularly vulnerable to this kind of abuse, but the IRS needs to revamp its approach to all 501(c)(3) entities and crack down on violations of the restrictions on political intervention. IRS Must Enforce 501(c)(3) Limits for Religious Groups, Charities Get full access to Minimum Competence - Daily Legal News Podcast at www.minimumcomp.com/subscribe

On September 10, Newslaundry and the Internet Freedom Foundation hosted FoE Con 2022, a forum that brought together media personalities and leading voices in the legal sphere to map the media and regulatory framework in contemporary India. The panel discussion titled “Negotiations with Security Laws” was moderated by Vakasha Sachdev, lawyer and editorial lead of Logically. She was joined by Hartosh Singh Bal, journalist and political editor of the Caravan, and Vrinda Grover, human rights lawyer and activist. The panel discussed the sedition law and why it needs a moratorium, how the National Security Act is misused, and why India needs law to protect against communal and targeted violence. “Doing the job of journalism is more difficult today than it has ever been at any point of time in our history,” Hartosh said. “The laws are secondary to the political atmosphere that exists.” Hosted on Acast. On September 18th 1947, the main provisions of the National Security Act of 1947 went into effect. One of these was the creation of the Central Intelligence Agency, perhaps the most infamous part of the US national security state. While we pay a lot of attention these days to digital surveillance and the agencies that focus on signals intelligence like the National Security Agency and National Reconnaissance office, the CIA has and continues to play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining global US hegemony via human intelligence as well as through its covert actions, including coups, terrorism and sabotage. Now, with that global hegemony being challenged in every hemisphere as well as with significant internal political turmoil in the United States, with significant populations on many sides of the political spectrum not trusting the so-called democratic institutions that maintain that supremacy, monitoring and exposing the CIA and all three-letter agencies is as important as ever.We are joined for this episode by two fellow members of the CovertAction Magazine Editorial Board. Lou Wolf is a co-founder of CovertAction. John Kiriakou is a former CIA analyst and whistleblower who exposed the CIA's torture program.Support the show

Summary Rhodri Jeffreys-Jones (Website; Wikipedia) joins Andrew (Twitter; LinkedIn) to discuss his book. He has studied American intelligence for 50 years. What You'll Learn Intelligence The CIA and the American presidents they served   The founding of the CIA just as America became a global superpower  Pearl Harbor, the USSR and covert action under Eisenhower Assassinations, controversy, the Church Committee, and 9/11 Reflections How much of the future can we predict Intention in history And much, much more… Episode Notes This week's guest, Rhodri Jeffreys-Jones, is Emeritus Professor of American History at the University of Edinburgh. He has been studying American intelligence for half a century and has written a history of the CIA to coincide with its 75th anniversary, entitled: A Question of Standing.    This episode with Rhodri is a counterpoint to last week's episode with Robert Gates: a career historian and a career intelligence officer; a European and an American; a 70,000 feet view and a 30,000 feet one. Interestingly, they were born continents apart within almost a year of each other.   Rhodri is the author of over a dozen books, has a Ph.D. from Cambridge University, and grew up in Harlech, Wales.   And… Harlech, Wales, where Rhodri grew up, has the steepest street in the Northern Hemisphere. The steepest street in the Southern Hemisphere, and the world according to Guinness Records, is in Dunedin, New Zealand (Dunedin is Gaelic for Edinburgh). The steepest street in the continental United States is Canton Avenue in Pittsburgh (to celebrate its Welsh heritage the Steel City has a St. David's Society). Espionage in Welsh is ysbïo. Episode 209 breaks down plausible deniability. The organization of a clandestine operation in such a way that knowledge of its existence may be denied by those in authority. A condition in which a subject can safely and believably deny knowledge of any particular truth that may exist because the subject is deliberately made unaware of said truth so as to benefit or shield the subject from any responsibility associated with the knowledge of such truth. If illegal or otherwise-disreputable and unpopular activities become public, high-ranking officials may deny any awareness of such acts to insulate themselves and shift the blame onto the agents who carried out the acts, as they are confident that their doubters will be unable to prove otherwise. The lack of evidence to the contrary ostensibly makes the denial plausible (credible), but sometimes, it makes any accusations only unactionable. Welcome to Babylon. Welcome to a world based upon deception. An evil, tyrannical and wicked world that hides behind the facade of benevolence and trying to “save the world.” Evil has always depended on deception and plausible deniability is one of the many tools of emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual warfare upon the masses. If you haven't noticed, the whole entire world is built based upon hierarchies. Every hierarchy has some form of authority, control, or rulership. Many people don't realize that Babylon is built up of hierarchies, in order to keep the masses distracted. It is simply another way to shift blame from one end to the other, leaving the masses confused and more vulnerable to further deception. Every indoctrination system thrives off the deception and manipulation of plausible deniability. From our education, to finance, to our government, to healthcare, and to religion. There are no shortages of areas within their hierarchies to shift blame. We die for lack of knowledge. It's up to The Most High's righteous people to warn those around them about the world's evil, wickedness, and idolatry. It's up to The Most High's righteous people to share the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of The Most High. Without the Laws, Statutes, and Commandments of The Most High, we'll only continue to be given calamity throughout our lives. All praises to The Most High. July 1, 2020 marked not only the anniversary of Hong Kong's handover to China, it was also a day when the territory's people woke up to news that a draconian, wide-sweeping National Security Act signed by Chinese President Xi Jinping had taken effect. Passed rapidly and without consultation, it criminalizes many acts which for decades Hong Kong people had taken for granted. Within hours of its promulgation, the local police began arresting people for carrying slogans deemed offensive to the motherland. In this episode we get into the ramifications. “I find it very hard to accept that Australia’s national interest is about putting security listening devices of the walls of our poorest, nearest neighbour.” This is an interview about espionage, exploitation and politics. Elizabeth Biok is a lawyer and member of the International Commission of Jurists. She talks to the Creating Space Project about the case of Witness K and his lawyer, Bernard Collaery. These two men exposed the Australian government for bugging the offices of the newly formed government of Timor-Leste. “The Australian intelligence agents were asked to put listening devices inside the cabinet room and some of the ministers’ offices in the parliament of Timor-Leste. And that was no doubt to eavesdrop on what the Timorese politicians were saying, while the negotiations were going on with Australia about the oil boundary, and sharing the resources in the Timor Sea.” For exposing corruption, Witness K and his lawyer are charged with breaching the National Security Act and are now imprisoned and facing a trial that lacks open and fair justice. Elizabeth went to East Timor as a legal monitor of the Independence Ballot in 1999 and bore witness to the political oppression and militia violence of the Indonesian occupation. She takes us, with wonderful clarity, through the history and geography of our relationship with Timor-Leste, and our place in South East Asia, to help us understand how this situation came about and how it pertains to processes of economic development, democracy, and our identity and values as Australians.

Richard Burr: The vice chairman of the Intelligence Committee and I were notified when the House CR appeared that there was language in it that was different than in the past. The language in section 148 of the CR is of concern to the Intelligence Committee. Let me just read the language: Sec. 148. Funds appropriated by the Department of Defense Missile Defeat and Defense Enhancements Appropriation Act, 2018 (division B of Public Law 115–96) may be obligated and expended notwithstanding section 504(a)(1) of the National Security Act of 1947. This language is troublesome for the committee because it would authorize the intelligence community to spend funds ‘‘notwithstanding’’ the law that requires prior authorization by the Senate Intelligence Committee or by the House Intelligence Committee. 1:11:00 Sen. Richard Burr: As a result, this language can erode the powers of the authorizing committee. Effectively, the intelligence community could ex-pend funds as it sees fit without an authorization bill in place and with no statutory direction indicating that an authorization bill for 2018 is forth-coming. 1:16:30 Sen. Mark Warner: If this exemption is granted, you could potentially have an administration—any administration—go off and take on covert activities, for example, with no ability for our committee, which spends the time and has the oversight, to say timeout or to say we actually disagree with that policy. Was it wise to separate the Air Force from the Army and pursue an unrealized promise of airpower solving national security problems on its own? Is the interservice rivalry that followed more destructive than helpful – and did the Goldwater-Nichols Act do enough to mitigate it? What can one learn from the establishment of an independent air force when considering new or emerging domains such as space or cyber? These and other questions are debated under the moderation of Dr. Mark Duckenfield, Chair of the Department of National Security and Strategy at the U.S. Army War College.

"The greatest gift anyone can give is a good memory" ---Mark PhillipsOur great nation and essentially the whole world lost one of humanity's true heroes, Mark Phillips, September 6, 2017. Mark Phillips was an extraordinary man of integrity who refused to tolerate criminal activity he witnessed while a US Government Intelligence insider. He devoted the last 25 years of his life to blowing the whistle on perpetraitors, including Bill and Hillary Clinton, for pedophilia, human trafficking, cocaine and heroin black ops and more. When the 1947 National Security Act was invoked on Mark's and my testimony for US Congress in 1995, he safely navigated us along through the fine legal line we walked as whistleblowers right up until September 6. There are no words big enough to express the monumental loss of my best friend and soul mate. We lived every moment as though it were our last, played harder than we worked, enjoyed silence between us as much as laughter, cherished our differences as much as our shared views, and embraced true nature with passion. We shared a vast life's purpose together, speaking out globally to those with eyes to see, ears to hear, and soul to know truth. We opened eyes to the reality of mind control, PTSD, and healing from both. How fortunate for me that the keys Mark handed me to my own mind empowered me to heal from within rather than rely on outside influence. With strength of spirit I am aware that those same healing methods apply to coping with today's overwhelming transition. I write out poetry, walk in nature surrounded by loving pets, breathe in fresh air, feel the sun on my skin, watch my watch, and focus on SOULutions. I do not mourn for Mark- he is free of the gravity of this world's responsibilities which are now ours. I mourn for u.s. who are left without valiant brilliance lighting paths to Constitutional values of freedom and justice for all. Mark dedicated his life and ultimately his vast knowledge of intelligence- level mind sciences to the reclamation and preservation of free thought. His noble purpose leaves me free to carry on his legacy as a shining example of the positive impact he made on and for the lives of so many in this world. Love lives on in the light of truth.Thank you Mark for "the greatest gift anyone can give" --- a good and lasting memory. Steny Hoyer: Mr. Speaker, as the gentleman knows, there is a provision in the rules that are proposed which are not in the rules of the last Congress, which give us great pause because we think it tends to put Members in a difficult place from a constitutional perspective and from a freedom-of-speech perspective. The rule, of course, of which I speak is the rule that relates to empowering the Sergeant at Arms to levy fines. May I ask the gentleman first: Did the Rules Committee find that there was any precedent for such a provision in rules historically? Rep. Pete Sessions: Mr. Speaker, I thank the gentleman very much. I would like to refer to something which I believe has been made available, and, if not, I would be very pleased to do it. The House has delegated fining authority, section 1103 of the Manual, where the House incorporates, by reference, title I of the Ethics in Government Act. Under this section, if a financial disclosure is filed late, the filer is subject to a $200 filing fee. It is a fine by another name that is administered by the House Ethics Committee. So what I am suggesting to you is we have seen where there has been the backup of rules that have been backed up by the levying of a fine, and I believe that is what the gentleman is seeking. 3:22pm EST- Rep. Steny Hoyer: If I may conclude, as the gentleman knows, and I won’t say thousands, but hundreds of pictures were taken just an hour ago on this floor—hundreds. We were in session, not in recess. *Rep. Pete Sessions: If I could address that, and I want to do this very gingerly because I do not want to start a battle here. The gentleman and I both know what caused this action was a deep, deep feeling that many Members on your side had about a particular issue. It resulted in what could be seen as—and I saw it as—a protest. Look, we are used to that in this body, people being upset. We are not used to people violating the rule, and it already was a rule that you cannot use, for recording purposes, those devices. We did not make this up. That was already a rule. So it became an advent of a protest. 3:23pm EST- Rep. Steny Hoyer: Very frankly, I think the gentleman is correct; it was a pro- test which gave rise to this rule which I think is ill-advised, but I understand the difference. The protest was because—and as Rules chairman, the gentleman probably knows this better than anybody else—we asked for an amendment that we thought 85 to 90 percent of the American people were for. We didn’t get transparency, we didn’t get openness, and we did not get an opportunity to express our views. That is why we are so concerned because we think, frankly, this is analogous to a gag rule: to shut us down, to shut us out, and to shut us up. 60 years earlier, the U.S. National Security Act set up the CIA. The act was used by the CIA to justify illegal surveillance of Americans. KUCI's Subversity show host Daniel C. Tsang talks about his own Privacy Act lawsuit, Tsang v. CIA, which was settled out of court with a promise from the CIA not to spy on his First-Amendment protected activities in future. Also on this program is his attorney, Kate Martin, who heads the Center for National Security Studies. Airing are excerpted interviews from an earlier Subversity show as well as a recent KUCI Privacy Piracy show where Kate Martin and Daniel Tsang appear.

The warfare state does not want peace, it wants war. Conducting a permanent war requires three things. There must be an underlying convincing belief that the war is worthwhile. Some interest groups need to stand to gain money or power. And, crises need to provoke reliable and ongoing responses. World peace is not desirable. After WWII, the US was a global superpower. Only the US had atomic weapons and could militarily dictate to the world. The onset of the Cold War (1950s-1970s) with Russia is blamed on many factors, but Raico’s essay on this issue is the best starting point. See Assessing the Presidency. The National Security Act was passed in 1947. The CIA and DOD became shrouded in deep secrecy. Information was often fabricated. The Truman Doctrine in 1947 stated how America would act in the world. An arms race was necessary. Massive global surveillance was necessary. Global deployment of troops was necessary. The Korean Action saved the warfare state because it paved the way for Congress to pay for defense spending. The Cold War cost $16 trillion. It was a substantial part of the American economy. Congressmen used the military budget as a giant slush fund for their districts.Vietnam was responsible for a massive turning against the war until 1970 and war sentiment became positive again with the hostage takings in Iran in the late 70s.From the 2001 History of Liberty seminar.
