This conversation with Dr. Tomas Teskey blew my mind in the best possible way, as he shared about what veterinary care looks like for him (and truly, what I would love to see much more of) - as he puts it, examining every square inch of a horse and what's impacting their health, including hooves, teeth, environment, feed, supplements and more. Tomas opens up about what a typical day looks like for him, why he started to focus on hoof care many years ago, and how shifting the environment has started to be one of the most important aspects of his care plan. Listen in to find out what simple changes he regularly recommends to his equine clients (spoiler alert: I loved his answer!). I also couldn't help but ask him about miniature horses and ponies and what they need to stay healthy, now that I've got a little in my world. Listen all the way to the end of the episode to hear about a very exciting life update for my herd and I, and how you can support to make my biggest dream come true. Thanks for listening and hope you enjoy this chat! Dr. Tomas Teskey is a human, native to Arizona and the second oldest of five siblings in a six-generation ranching family. He received a Bachelor's degree in Botany from Northern Arizona University in 1991, and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University in 1995. He has practiced large animal medicine and surgery in Arizona since graduation, with the majority of his work focusing on horses. Taking a special interest in equine podiatry since 2001, he became a passionate supporter or the barefoot performance horse, and published “The Unfettered Foot, A Paradigm Change for Equine Podiatry”, in the Journal of Equine Veterinary Science in February, 2005. This sparked greater attention, discussion and interest within the veterinary community about the benefits of a more holistic and natural approach to hoof care versus the more antagonistic approaches of conventional farriery. Numerous other articles have continued to explore these not-so-new ideas. Tomas specializes in natural horse care, and hold Holistic health lectures world wide, providing professional veterinary support for individuals, horse clubs, families and communities seeking Real Answers about keeping horses healthy. What is intuition? How might we account for the myriad ways our intuitive faculties speak to us? How and why do we develop a trustworthy relationship to intuitive experience?Join me for a deep and lively conversation exploring the topic of intuition with my guest Emily Sadowski, PhD, the author of What is Intuition? While intuition is a familiar and frequently-used concept within the spiritual communities, a majority of the conversations I've seen have revolved around the 'how.' To me, Emily's work is unique because she also explores the 'what' and the 'why' of intuition with rigor, nuance, and a warm, open curiosity. We also explored topics like how she became interested in learning more about intuition, how getting curious about our intuition can lead us deeper into inquiries about consciousness, and how to integrate intuition into our daily personal & communal existence. Here's Emily's bio: Emily Sadowski, PhD writes, teaches, and coaches smart, sensitive leaders in cultivating their self-awareness and self-compassion so they can connect with their inner genius and trust their inner knowing.Join Emily's upcoming course TRUST, an Intuition Development Immersion, starting March 23, 2024.Emily also offers 1:1 coaching and monthly integration circles. Do you know what a paradigm is? And why it is SO crucial to change your paradigm to change the results in your life? Here is a definition from the forward of the book I am reviewing today: “A paradigm is a mental program in your subconscious that has almost exclusive control over all your habitual behavior. Paradigms are the way you view yourself, the world and opportunity. They are how your approach change and challenges.” Once you begin to change your paradigm, your entire view of life will shift! In this episode, I share ideas from this powerful book to help you begin to shift your paradigm and tap into all the energy you need to achieve your desires! Ps- if you want the link to the book or a FREE 30-day trial to Audible, click here for the show notes. Key Learnings: A paradigm is a collection of beliefs that form your perception of yourself, of life, and of what is possible for you. Without changing your paradigm, it is very difficult to achieve lasting results that differ from your current reality. Repetition is what created your paradigms. Many are passed down to you, genetically and through your ancestors. The good news is that you are not limited to your genetics or the beliefs and experiences of your ancestors. You can change! Some of the key things that Bob Proctor did to change his paradigm, and his life experience are: read good books, listen to good recordings, get tutored by excellent people, choose your mentors, do not mix with people who are not working on goals and never hang around people who complain. “You don't GET energy; you release it through desire. When you've got a desire, you have the energy to do it!” Bob Proctor Click here to purchase Change Your Paradigm, Change Your Life by Bob Proctor For a FREE 30-Day Trial to Audible, Click Here Click here to join the Magnify Your Miracles membership If you love the image on the wall behind me of Mother Mary Blessing the World, you can order your own museum quality copy at www.deepaliu.com
Interview with Dr Tomas Teskey - www.insighttoequus.comSecond time lucky! After our first attempt (which didn't get off to a good start due to technical issues and mosquitoes) I'm very pleased to announce f an interview with Dr Tomas Teskey from Arizona USA.It was my lovely regular podcast guests Scout and Michelle from "Scout's trail" who suggested I contact Tomas to see if he would like to be a guest and I'm very pleased to say he said yes, so thank you Scout and Michelle for your recommendation. The word falay means running water, accumulated underground through rainfall over millennia. Considered by locals of Ru-us al-Jibal as sacred, it acts as a driving force in the creation of landscapes and social practices. In Helsinki, Zeynep Falay von Flittner has brought together a collective of transitions designers, systems thinkers, sustainability experts and researchers using system-aware creative practice to catalyse regenerative futures. In this conversation she discusses what drives her, the work of Falay Design, her personal journey, and her roles as the founder of Design Activists for Regenerative Futures, and as a member of the board of Systems Change Finland.

Systems reflect the beliefs and assumptions of the ppl & societies who create them. Changing those beliefs is a powerful way to change a system. So, it follows, if we want to change management, we need to look at the beliefs and assumptions behind the dominant system of management. Professor Fred Provenza is the legendary behavioural ecologist and author who has revolutionised how we understand the nature of animal health and intelligence, and its connection to our human health and intelligence. This includes the regenerative role of livestock, in all sorts of ways. And through his own deep personal trials and transformations, Fred has come to embody this knowledge in ways that shine a light not only on the extraordinary regenerative capacities of nature, including humans, but how regenerating all human systems stems from the wisdom of our bodies. Fred's published a few books on all this, culminating a few years ago in his master work, ‘Nourishment: What Animals Can Teach Us About Rediscovering Our Nutritional Wisdom'. It's been called a ‘paradigm-changing exploration' with ‘implications that could vastly improve our health through a simple change in the way we view our relationships with the plants and animals we eat'. Montana Public Radio said: “Nourishment is a conversation between science, culture, and a greater spiritual or cosmological umbrella.” Indeed, you might describe this conversation the same way. More on Fred: As professor emeritus of Behavioral Ecology in the Department of Wildland Resources at Utah State University, Provenza directed an award-winning research group focused on how learning influences foraging behavior and how behavior links soils and plants with herbivores and humans. In addition to penning a book, he is one of the founders of BEHAVE, an international network of scientists and land managers. I try very hard to keep this podcast practical. However, sometimes the "backstory" is what drives home the significance of what we are experiencing today. Let's dive into wacky stories about sewage dumping in Mexico, the Mafia in Tahoe, and why you may be missing clues about what's keeping you sick. (Note: credit for original discoveries and publication of some of these concepts goes to Erik Johnson & Lisa Petrison of Paradigm Change).

Link to bioRxiv paper: http://biorxiv.org/cgi/content/short/2020.11.04.368357v1?rss=1 Authors: Vizioli, L., Moeller, S., Dowdle, L., Akcakaya, M., De Martino, F., Yacoub, E., Ugurbil, K. Abstract: Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) has become one of the most powerful tools for investigating the human brain. However, virtually all fMRI studies have relatively poor signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). We introduce a novel fMRI denoising technique, which removes noise that is indistinguishable from zero-mean Gaussian-distributed noise. Thermal noise, falling in this category, is a major noise source in fMRI, particularly, but not exclusively, at high spatial and/or temporal resolutions. Using 7-Tesla high-resolution data, we demonstrate remarkable improvements in temporal-SNR, the detection of stimulus-induced signal changes, and functional maps, while leaving stimulus-induced signal change amplitudes, image spatial resolution, and functional point-spread-function unaltered. We also provide supplementary data demonstrating that the method is equally applicable to supra-millimeter resolution 3- and 7-Tesla fMRI data, different cortical regions, stimulation/task paradigms, and acquisition strategies. The proposed denoising approach is expected to have a transformative impact on the scope and applications of fMRI to study the brain. Copy rights belong to original authors. Dr. Sandy Richter is LEGIT!! In this fascinating conversation, Sandy helps us understand the alleged "marry your rapist" law in Deuteronomy 22:28, which has been mistranslated as you'll see. She also walks us through the "marry your conquered enemy's wife" allowance in Deuteronomy 21. These texts have troubled me for YEARS and have raised questions in my own mind about whether the Old Testament dehumanizes women. Actually, it does the opposite. When you understand it in its own cultural context, you'll see that the Bible actually humanizes women much, much more than we realize.Sandy's awesome book ("The Epic of Eden") that I referenced can be found hereSandra Richter is the Robert H. Gundry Chair of Biblical Studies at Westmont College. Richter earned her PhD from Harvard University’s Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations Department and her MA in Theological Studies from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She has taught at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY, Wesley Biblical Seminary in Jackson, MS and Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL. Due to her passion for the "real space and time" of the biblical text, she has spent many of those years directing an Israel Studies program focused on historical geography and field archaeology.Richter is best known in the Academy for her work on the “name theology” of the Deuteronomistic History and a socio-historical assessment of the economic backdrop of the Book of Deuteronomy (The Deuteronomistic History and the Name Theology: lešakken šemo šam in the Bible and the ANE [BZAW 318, 2002]; “The Place of the Name in Deuteronomy” [VT 57, 2007], “Placing the Name, Pushing the Paradigm: A Decade with the Deuteronomistic Name Formula” in Deuteronomy in the Pentateuch, Hexateuch, and the Deuteronomistic History [FAT 56; Mohr Siebeck, 2012]; “The Question of Provenance and the Economics of Deuteronomy”" JSOT [2017]; “What’s Money Got to Do With It? Economics and the Question of the Provenance of Deuteronomy in the Neo-Babylonian and Persian Periods” in Paradigm Change in Pentateuchal Research [BZAR 22, 2019]). She has a commentary forthcoming with Eerdmans on The Book of Deuteronomy. In the Church, Richter is best known for her work, The Epic of Eden: A Christian Entry into the Old Testament (IVP 2008) and a number of DVD curriculums stemming from the project (Zondervan and Seedbed). Ha habido respuestas absurdas, falsas, alarmistas, malintencionadas, pero también ha habido mucho trabajo científico que nos ha ayudado a despejar esta duda. En colaboración con La Pandemia de la Desinformación, un proyecto colectivo y multidisciplinario de divulgación para combatir la información errónea en estos tiempos, les traemos este episodio especial en el que abordamos algunas de los puntos más acuciantes sobre esa gran duda. Read Rhys' 10,000-word essay here. Rhys' essay is titled We Need To Talk: Marriage Counseling with Capitalism Itself. It explores our post-capitalist future through playful dialogue (and VR scenes) with Humanity, Capitalism, and Post-Capitalism. The essay outlines the four crucial components of this future: 1) Networkism: how decentralized digital networks are outcompeting centralized institutions. 2) Coherent Pluralism: How individuals should consume information on the internet—by looking through many lenses (Pluralism) while also striving for clarity (Coherence). 3) Bentoism: A mindset that frees us from short-term thinking by zooming out to our collective future. 4) Generosity: Recognizing our newfound abundance and giving back the planet and each other. ______________________________________________________________ Rhys Lindmark is helping build The Bento Society and the Center for Paradigm Change. For some two hundred years now, Pentateuchal scholarship has been dominated by the Documentary Hypothesis, a paradigm made popular by Julius Wellhausen. Recent decades, however, have seen mounting critiques of the old paradigm, from a variety of specializations, not only in Biblical Studies, but also in the fields of Assyriology, Legal History, and Linguistics. In a recent international meeting, scholars across these fields came together and presented papers, each one calling for a paradigm change in Pentateuchal research. Join us as we speak with one of those scholars, Richard Averbeck, about his contribution to Paradigm Change in Pentateuchal Research, edited by M. Armgardt, B. Kilchör, M. Zehnder (Harrassowitz Verlag, 2019)—his chapter is titled ‘Reading the Torah in a Better Way.' Richard Averbeck teaches at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. His areas of expertise include Old Testament, especially the Pentateuch, ancient Near Eastern history and languages, Old Testament criticism, Hebrew, and biblical counseling. He is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society, the Institute for Biblical Research, the American Oriental Society, the American Schools of Oriental Research, and the Society of Biblical Literature. Michael Morales is Professor of Biblical Studies at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and the author of The Tabernacle Pre-Figured: Cosmic Mountain Ideology in Genesis and Exodus(Peeters, 2012), and Who Shall Ascend the Mountain of the Lord?: A Biblical Theology of Leviticus (IVP Academic, 2015).
