Understanding and Practicing Stewardship in Daily Life In this episode of the Steward Lab Podcast, hosts James and Amberlee Rich dive into the concept of stewardship from a Biblical perspective. They discuss how stewardship encompasses managing time, money, relationships, health, careers, and even children as God's resources. Using Biblical references and personal anecdotes, they emphasize that everything we have is God's and we are merely surrogates for His resources. They highlight the importance of viewing our possessions and talents as tools for glorifying God and bettering His creation. The episode also touches on practical steps for improving stewardship in various areas of life and encourages listeners to start small and be intentional in their efforts. 00:00 Introduction to the Steward Lab Podcast 00:41 Understanding Stewardship: A Personal Story 02:37 Defining Stewardship: Biblical and Practical Perspectives 06:51 Stewardship in Action: Real-Life Examples and Parables 19:43 The Grace Project: A Church Initiative 23:11 Continuous Growth in Stewardship 30:52 Practical Steps to Improve Stewardship 32:55 Self-Examination and Taking Action 34:26 Conclusion and Call to Action

Through her journey, we learn that holiness is not given but earned through daily sacrifice, humility, and surrender to God's will.

SEND US A MESSAGE! We'd Love to Chat With you and Hear your thoughts! We'll read them on the next episode. There is something that every shepherd ought to have buried in his heart - a desire to protect. Before we even discuss the ability to protect proficiently, it must start with a desire. The fallout from the MLK episodes left a lasting scar. Genuine astonishment took place at the flippant responses people made to MLK's alleged sexual assault. This ought to make us think - "am I willing to protect a predator as long as I think highly of him/her?". Is this something the church has been doing for a long time? Who in the Lord's church, will stand and call her to task? We are to be sober-minded, impartial and to have righteous judgment. This episode is for you, listener. May we all be examined by the Lord and may He remove from within us anything that would contribute to predator curation. There are voices behind abuse. We will listen to three of them. I want us to think of these voices when we flippantly look to defend someone merely because of their status. Self Examination - March 9, 2025 by Jesus the Good Shepherd Anglican Church
In this sermon by Chris Romig, the emphasis is on the season of Lent and its profound role in the Christian tradition as a time for self-examination leading up to Easter. Chirs describes Lent as a centuries-old practice rooted in aligning with God's holiness and truth. The sermon outlines a practical approach to observing Lent by engaging with the seven letters to the churches in Revelation 2 and 3. Chris highlights these letters as timeless messages from Jesus relevant for churches today. Each day of the week, he encourages reflection on a different letter, prompting self-examination with questions like: Are we offering wholehearted worship? What fears might limit our courage for Christ? Chris calls for personal and communal prayer, drawing inspiration from historical revivals such as the 1949-1952 revival on the Isle of Lewis, which underscored the transformative power of prayer. He uses this example to inspire a desire for God's renewal in the community. The sermon concludes by urging the congregation to deeply engage with Lent, embracing it as a time for genuine repentance and seeking God's presence. Chris believes this can lead to a powerful spiritual awakening, reviving both individuals and the church community.

Mark 7:17-23And when He later entered a house, away from the crowd, His disciples asked Him about the parable. And He said to them, "Are you so lacking in understanding as well? Do you not understand that whatever goes into the person from outside cannot defile him, because it does not go into his heart, but into his stomach, and is eliminated?" (Thereby He declared all foods clean.) And He was saying, "That which comes out of the person, that is what defiles the person. For from within, out of the hearts of people, come the evil thoughts, acts of sexual immorality, thefts, murders, acts of adultery, deeds of greed, wickedness, deceit, indecent behavior, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness. Drawing from my experiences with being "canceled," I emphasize the importance of understanding our emotions in relation to moral philosophy and self-examination. I argue that a strong foundation in self-knowledge allows for reframing discomfort into opportunities for growth, advocating for reason and virtue over fleeting emotional reactions. Additionally, I critique the tendency for others to project their own biases onto public figures, reinforcing that true morality often involves uncomfortable choices. Reformed Brotherhood | Sound Doctrine, Systematic Theology, and Brotherly Love
In this episode of the Reformed Brotherhood, Jesse and Tony dive into the topic of sacrament eligibility, focusing heavily on the theology and practices surrounding the Lord's Supper. Beginning with a discussion on the biblical foundations of worthy participation, the hosts explore the requirements for partaking in communion, emphasizing the importance of self-examination and reconciliation within the covenant community. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 11 and the Scots Confession, they unpack the critical elements of discerning the body of Christ and evaluating one's faith and relationships before coming to the table. The conversation extends to the role of church leadership in fencing the table, highlighting the balance between pastoral oversight and personal responsibility. Jesse and Tony emphasize that while the bar for participation in the Lord's Supper is not insurmountably high, it nevertheless requires maturity, faith, and a proper understanding of the sacrament. They also explore the broader implications of communion readiness, noting how it ties into the daily rhythms of Christian living and our relationships with God and others. Finally, the hosts touch on the practical aspects of preparing for communion, including the importance of ongoing introspection and pastoral guidance. They encourage listeners to approach the Lord's Supper with reverence, ensuring that it remains a time of worship, proclamation, and unity within the church. This episode serves as a thoughtful guide to understanding and practicing the Lord's Supper in a way that honors Christ and strengthens the covenant community. Key Points: The Biblical Basis for Self-Examination: The hosts discuss Paul's instruction in 1 Corinthians 11, emphasizing the need for self-examination and discernment before participating in the Lord's Supper. Reconciliation Within the Covenant Community: The importance of resolving conflicts and maintaining unity with fellow believers as part of preparing to partake in communion is explored in detail. The Role of Pastoral Leadership: Jesse and Tony highlight the role of pastors in guiding their congregations through the process of fencing the table and ensuring members are spiritually prepared. Communion Readiness Across Ages: The episode addresses the question of when children and new believers are ready to participate in the Lord's Supper, emphasizing spiritual maturity over age. The Gravity of the Lord's Supper: The hosts stress the need to approach communion with a deep understanding of its significance as both an act of worship and a proclamation of the Gospel. Questions for Reflection: How can you prepare yourself better for the Lord's Supper in your daily walk with Christ? Are there any unresolved conflicts in your life that you need to address before coming to the table? How can pastors and church leaders balance oversight with encouraging personal responsibility in fencing the table? What role does self-examination play in your spiritual life, and how does it shape your participation in communion? How can families and churches work together to teach children and new believers about the significance of the Lord's Supper?

Self-examination based on Scripture is critical for every Christian. “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer” (Psalm 19:14). Success starts with what you think in your soul. Remember, God hears your words and knows what you are thinking. “Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear” (Eph 4:29). You are to think with the mind of Christ and take on His personality profile of being merciful, gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness and truth (Ps 86:15). The world only offers mind pollution. Click for Full Transcript: https://rhem.pub/self-examination-a19ae4
