⁣What do you think is actually required of you to transform your life? Are some of our weaknesses, struggles, secrets, and misfortunes predetermined kisses of death to living the life that we dream of? Is it the small changes we make that set our lives on different paths, both good and bad? Is it the bigger, life-changing moments that set our lives on different paths? What does it feel like when life is passing you by? What does it feel like to take control? To be in control? To actually create the life you want, as if painting on canvas?⠀ Scout Sobel is such an inspiration and this is a complete, open, and raw conversation about all that goes into personal transformation, how quickly things can change in just a few years, but also the work and the mindset shifts that go into it. This conversation is about going through loss, losing touch with yourself, facing uncertainty about your future—and still making the decision to have hope and the places that hope will take you. For anyone who feels overwhelmed about where to start when it comes to bringing your life back into your own hands, this is for you.⠀ What we talk about:⠀ ⁣— Starting Scout's Agency and turning it into a six-figure business in its first year + how she did it, what the first steps were + how she had the confidence and strategy to reach out to clients with little prior experience in running a PR business⠀   ⁣— How she was able to turn her life around by regaining control one day at a time, one decision at a time⠀   — Her bipolar disorder diagnosis, taking a pause in school and learning to live with her mental health struggles⠀   — What the experience has taught her and how she is able to share it with others in an impactful way through her podcast and personal messaging, inspiring others to take control of their lives as well whether it be with mental health or the career decisions they make for themselves⠀   — Scout Podcast, the intersection of mental health and entrepreneurship⠀   — Faith, spirituality, prayer ⠀   — My sign during meditation to reach out to Scout One-on-one consultations for podcasters: readytolaunchpodcasts.com

Redefining Personal Branding: The Stereotype You Are Trying to Become Is Holding You Back | Solo Ep

Play Episode Listen Later May 7, 2020 20:04

Listen to this if everywhere you look online you see countless clones of your work and aesthetic and you begin to wonder if you're nothing but a cheesy stereotype of a person and there's no point in pursuing your side hustle/passion project because a million people are already doing it and it doesn't even look good or impressive when they're doing it so you start to devalue your own contribution and forget the very reason you were inspired to get started in the first place. I am so happy to share this powerful solo episode with you guys, truly. Anyone that has ever felt like they need to hide away or neglect a certain side of their personality in order to find success online or with their personal brands can finally take a deep breath and forget that nonsense. Anyone that feels like they have to limit themselves and their message to a particular branding strategy/niche needs to hear this. This is a must-listen if you are having trouble differentiating yourself, your work, your podcast, your art, etc. WHILE ALSO feeling trapped by the expectations that people have of your brand. Everyone knows that individuality is important and praised, but few have actually taken the time to cultivate their own sense of it. Some points:  1. Do you care if people see you as an artist? Or do you care about creating art? Do you care about people seeing you as spiritual? Or do you care about experiencing spirituality? 2. Forget the title and the labels. Forget becoming anything. Focus on your purpose, your values and the impact you want to have. The labels might come, but it won't matter. 3. We get into the work that is necessary to uncover and identify what your unique voice is — it's actually not just about finding a niche and sticking to it. 4. Integrating all aspects of your personality, your experiences, and your interests into the most powerful brand that only you have the power to make work 5. Forget the archetypes. Forget the stereotypes. Have you ever wondered why some people that are a little bit similar to you/your work online make you cringe? Do they represent the sides of you that you are neglecting? Or putting on? 6. Neuroscience and psychology of a purpose-driven life and its impact on depression, anxiety, and loneliness Ready to Launch Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/readytolaunchpodcast/ Reach out at: readytolaunchpodcasts.com

The Digital Age After COVID-19

It is possible that we can walk away from this global health crisis with something positive to hold onto—we might remind ourselves of the good that could come out of using the internet as a tool to find common ground with one another rather than a means of competition and cancel culture. We might champion going online to see how everyone else is doing above going online to post about how we want people to think we are doing. A chat about how might be able to contribute to society in a positive way throughout self-isolation and the COVID-19 pandemic. Whether you shine as the comedian, have come a long way with your anxiety, find yourself to be extremely ordinary, are a billionaire or a struggling college student, the world can benefit right now from the place you are coming from. Participating in and supporting the spread of less filtered communication seems to be the greatest positive force circulating through the internet in these trying times; a breath of fresh air following a long season of incredibly filtered content put out methodically and fearfully by the masses. In the current climate, it is a great idea to perpetuate this oneness that the internet is experiencing by finally starting that project you have been eyeing over the past few years. Whether that means launching that podcast, writing that book, creating those videos, paintings—whatever—do it. And then share it. Do it in a way that prioritizes connection without fear of abandonment or judgment. Do it in a way that throws “personal branding” out the window and instead speaks to whatever it is that has been calling you to start that project in the first place. Leverage what makes you, you, and share it with the world. My hope is that this type of engagement, honesty, and creative freedom will carry on to make our post-apocalyptic digital age more receptive to these types of attitudes than ever before. Good luck with your social distancing folks, stay safe.

"It's like a drug" she said. "It feels good to accomplish something but then it always leaves you wanting more." If you guys want to hear this part of the episode, just let me know and I will post! We have Gloria and Victoria of the Chemist Confessions on Ready to Launch! Today we talked about how they left their desk jobs as skincare formulators at Loreal and started Chemist Confessions. In the beginning, Chemist Confessions was just a skincare blog, but its popularity provided the opportunity for them to start their own line of skincare products. Chemist Confessions is really unique in that Victoria and Gloria are both chemists, so they are able to debunk all the labels of the skincare products you have in your cupboard. They also are able to formulate the perfect products using their background in formulation, go check them out! Victoria and Gloria open up about some of the struggles that come with owning your own line of products, but what makes it all worth it in the end. This is a great reminder that no matter who you are, stress is a part of the picture if you’re looking to grow as a person and as a professional. We also give our opinion on hashtagging on instagram, and hear a really funny story from Gloria about the finish line for their first product launch.   You can find their products on the Chemist Confessions website: https://chemistconfessions.com/   Chemist Confessions Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/chemist.confessions/?hl=en

Digitalism: Their Formation and Evolution As A Music Duo

Jence and Isi of Digitalism speak on what motivates them every day despite already having reached success in their careers, the importance of understanding the reality of social media, what they have in store for the future, being proud of your dreams/goals despite the point you are at in your career, and I even try to get them on the morning routine train (don’t know if they’re dying to jump on it). It was pretty nerve-racking going into this conversation with one of the best names in the world of electronic music, but the takeaway was golden and I could not be happier with the way this episode turned out. Enjoy!

In this episode with Tina Haupert from the Carrots n Cake blog, we talk about her journey with dealing with an autoimmune disease and the approaches she has taken to reduce her symptoms. Additionally, we have a candid discussion on her decision to come off birth control and compare experiences between being on oral birth control and the IUD. She also shares her success with drinking celery juice, and how it helped with her cystic acne! I definitely need to start on that. Then, we go into all things inflammation. What are the symptoms? What foods are inflammatory? Does inflammation worsen anxiety? Finally, we talk CBD and what to look out for when deciding which one to buy—they are not all created equally. Tina's experience with CBD is one of a success story. Finally, look out for a Zoe word vomit at the end of the episode.
