00h 00’00” Proud lady 00h 03’25” Presentación 00h 05’05” Cabecera 00h 06’10” Inicio 00h 06’45” Chanson 00h 11’10” If it wasn’t for you 00h 15’37” Merci, Madame 00h 21’53” Bread 00h 29’10” Gifts of love 00h 34’10” Proud lady 00h 37’57” Look for that woman 00h 41’09” Chanson – Serenade 00h 46’14” Meadowlark 00h 54’39” Buzz-a-buzz 01h 00’37” Any day now 01h 07’49” The luckiest man in the world 01h 10’07” Feminine companion 01h 13’45” If I have to live alone 01h 19’35” Romance 01h 26’06” Where is the warmth? 01h 31’31” Scene 01h 34’02” Gifts of love 01h 35’35” Chanson (Finale) 01h 38’09” Curiosidades y anécdotas 01h 39’52” Endless delight – Patti LuPone & Kurt Peterson 01h 44’33” Bread 01h 47’42” Perfect every time 01h 49’34” What’s a man to do 01h 53’03” A little taste of Heaven 01h 58’02” Not in the market 02h 01’13” Plain and simple 02h 07’06” Where is the warmth?
Do you get frustrated when the creative process isn't going as planned? Do you get impatient when another artist is not going in the same direction as you hoped? Patience isn't easy, it requires constant effort and awareness to shift our mindset to remind ourselves that everyone has a different creative approach to art. Musician/Actor/Singer Jamie McRoberts will remind us in this week's episode that our minds are unique and work differently than everyone else's. Everyone has their own magic or something that they're good at, that's why we can't expect everyone to be in the same page every single time. Even if someone's creative process is different, we all have the same goal which is to provide the best art we could give at that moment. Follow Cue TO Cue! I: @thisischelseajohnson F: @thisischelseajohnson In this episode: How the pandemic allowed Jamie to discover other passions outside of her artistic identity. In order to stay grounded in the ups and downs of the creative lifestyle, Jamie tries to remember that she has so many things outside of the artistic world that matter. Be who you are because you are interesting, you have a story to tell, stop being what people are telling you they think of you because they're coming from the outside in and that's not who people are. Artists are storytellers and community leaders, we can tell stories anywhere and that is why we've survived for so long; people need to hear about other people going through similar things and having that connection. A little about Jamie: Jamie McRoberts is a singer, actor, dancer and musician from Oakville, Ontario. She is a classically trained pianist and vocalist having completed her Grade 8 Royal Conservatory for Voice and her Grade 10 Royal Conservatory for Piano. She has been training as an actor/performer since the age of 5 and as a professional performer has not only performed Canada wide, but has performed Internationally. She graduated George Brown Theatre School's Classical Theatre Conservatory Program and was immediately launched into a professional career predominantly as musical theatre performer. She has received awards and accolades along the way such as the Second City Comedy Award from her theatre school, A Dora Mavor Moore Award as part of the ensemble of The Wizard of Oz at Young People's Theatre in Toronto, Ontario, and has received several nominations for her work on stage. Some of her favourite credits include Rock of Ages at Stage West Calgary, All Shook Up at Stage West Mississauga, The Baker's Wife with Talk Is Free Theatre performed at the iconic Winter Garden Theatre in Toronto, April Fools at the Segal Center in Montreal where she was able to put her musician skills to work as an actor/musician and her performance in For Both Resting and Breeding which was performed in Adelaide, Australia. She is currently in Maggie, a new Canadian Musical created and co-written by Johnny Reid and Matt Murray. She recently decided to dive back into her musician roots, and try her hand at song writing and has found the missing piece to her puzzle. Follow Jamie! Stephen Schwartz (stephenschwartz.com) was born in New York City on March 6, 1948. He studied piano and composition at the Juilliard School of Music while in high school and graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1968 with a B.F.A. in Drama. Upon coming back to live in New York City, he went to work as an A&R producer for RCA Records, but shortly thereafter began to work in the Broadway theatre. His first major credit was the title song for the play BUTTERFLIES ARE FREE; the song was eventually used in the movie version as well. In 1971, he wrote the music and new lyrics for GODSPELL, for which he won two Grammys among other awards. This was followed by the English texts, in collaboration with Leonard Bernstein, for Bernstein's MASS, which opened the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. The following year, he wrote the music and lyrics for PIPPIN, and two years later, THE MAGIC SHOW. At one point, GODSPELL, PIPPIN and THE MAGIC SHOW were all running on Broadway simultaneously. He next wrote the music and lyrics for THE BAKER'S WIFE, followed by a musical version of Studs Terkel's WORKING, to which he contributed four songs and which he also adapted and directed, winning a Drama Desk Award as best director. He also co-directed the television production, which was presented as part of the PBS “American Playhouse” series. Other work for the musical theatre includes lyrics to RAGS (music by Charles Strouse), music and lyrics for CHILDREN OF EDEN, and two musicals produced overseas, MIT EVENTYR (MY FAIRY TALE) in Denmark and SCHIKANEDER in Austria. He has also written songs for two musicals for young audiences, CAPTAIN LOUIE and MY SON, PINOCCHIO. Compilation revues of his work include SNAPSHOTS and, for Princess Cruise Lines, MAGIC TO DO. For film, he collaborated with composer Alan Menken on the songs for Disney's POCAHONTAS, for which he received two Academy Awards and another Grammy, THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, and ENCHANTED. He also provided songs for DreamWorks' first animated feature, THE PRINCE OF EGYPT, for which he won another Academy Award for the song “When You Believe.” THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME and THE PRINCE OF EGYPT have both been adapted for the stage. Mr. Schwartz's most recent stage musical, WICKED, opened in the fall of 2003 and is currently running on Broadway and in several other productions around the world. He received another Grammy for the cast recording, and in 2008, WICKED reached its 1900th performance on Broadway, making Mr. Schwartz the only songwriter in Broadway history ever to have three shows run more than 1900 performances. His first opera, SEANCE ON A WET AFTERNOON, premiered at Opera Santa Barbara in the fall of 2009 and was subsequently produced by New York City Opera. His frequently-performed choral works include “Testimony”, based on the It Gets Better Project, “Keramos” and part of the “Tyler Clemente Suite.” He has also released two singer/songwriter CDs, RELUCTANT PILGRIM and UNCHARTED TERRITORY. Mr. Schwartz has been awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and inducted into the Theatre Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. In 2015, he received the Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award for his humanitarian and mentorship contributions to the theatre. A book about his career, “Defying Gravity,” has been released by Applause Books. Under the auspices of the ASCAP Foundation, he has been the artistic director of musical theatre workshops in New York and Los Angeles for over twenty years, as well as conducting workshops for aspiring musical theatre writers and performers in countries around the world, including Australia, Germany, Latvia and Kenya. He is also a past President and current Council Member of the Dramatists' Guild.

The Annapolis Film Festival opens on Thursday, March 23rd, and will run through March 26th, featuring more than 70 films, panels, coffee chats, and parties throughout Annapolis. We had the opportunity to hop on the phone with Joanna Gleason, the director of her film that will be screening at the festival--The Grotto! The Grotto | March 24, 2023 | 7pm | Maryland Hall (Main) The Grotto | March 25, 2023 | 7 pm | Maryland Hall (Bowen) When her fiance dies unexpectedly, Alice Kendall inherits half ownership of The Grotto, a struggling desert nightclub where she discovers eccentric performers and a heartbreaking secret. As Christmas approaches, Alice is on the brink of a leap of faith as forces, both seen and unseen, beckon her toward her future. This heartwarming film is the directorial debut of Joanna Gleason, the acclaimed stage and screen actress who won the Tony Award for her role as “The Baker's Wife” in the original Broadway production of Into the Woods. Gleason wrote this story in remembrance of the friends she lost and wanted to tell the stories of women who feel they're only a small part of someone else's bigger story. Betsy Brandt (award-winning actress from Breaking Bad) will steal your heart as the aimless “Alice” who stumbles into this unexpected wonderland that becomes a healing sanctuary for lost souls. Tickets and passes are on sale now for the 11th Annual Annapolis Film Festival.

For Video Edition, Please Click and Subscribe Here: https://youtu.be/6vcHvOUB5Tc It was in Michael Stewart and Cy Coleman's musical I Love My Wife (1977) – a satire on wife-swapping – that Gleason made her Broadway debut, playing Monica, for which she won a Theatre World Award. She returned to Broadway in a 1985 revival of Peter Nichols's play Joe Egg. Along with Marlo Thomas and Olympia Dukakis, Gleason was a member of the opening-night cast of Andrew Bergman's comedy Social Security (1986), for which Gleason won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Play. Although she had already gained attention and honors for her stage work, her performance as the Baker's Wife in Stephen Sondheim's wry fairy-tale musical Into the Woods (1987) made her a Broadway leading lady. The musical itself won Tonys® for Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score, and Gleason earned a Tony® for Best Actress in a Musical. Her singing is preserved on the original Broadway cast recording. In the Thin Man-inspired musical Nick and Nora (1991) by Arthur Laurents, Charles Strouse, and Richard Maltby Jr., Gleason played the leading lady, and in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (2005). A familiar presence in movies and on television, Gleason appeared in two of Woody Allen's films – as Tony Roberts's embarrassed wife in Hannah and Her Sisters (1986) and as Allen's spouse in Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989). In Boogie Nights, she played Mark Wahlberg's abusive mother. On television, she was a regular on the CBS sitcom Love & War as the restaurant waitress Nadine Berkus. Other series in which Gleason appeared regularly are Hello, Larry; Temporarily Yours; Oh Baby; and Bette. She is married to the actor Chris Sarandon.

Later that same year, she was cast as one of Bobby's married friends in COMPANY, beginning a long and fruitful relationship with two giants of the musical theater—Stephen Sondheim and Hal Prince. Teri reprised her role in COMPANY in the California and London companies and after returning from London, she began rehearsals for their newest show, A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC. Teri's next two Broadway shows were not quite as successful. In fact, they closed on the road, but she had the great opportunity of beginning a working relationship with two of Broadways finest talents: Stephen Schwartz in THE BAKER'S WIFE, for which he wrote “Chanson” for her; and then with Cy Coleman in HOME AGAIN, HOME AGAIN. Ready for a little change, Teri headed back to California, where she worked constantly. Ready for another change, she recently moved back to New York. Teri's association with Sondheim's work has continued over the years. She has performed in and/or directed several productions of Sondheim shows. As a performer, she appeared in SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM several times…once with Peggy Lee; she played Sally in three different productions of FOLLIES, Mamma Rose in GYPSY, and Yvonne in SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE. In Los Angeles, she was the “stand by” for Desiree in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC… and for Carol Burnett in the Mark Taper Forum production of PUTTING IT TOGETHER.
