For at least sixteen months in the 1920s, Earle Nelson terrorized North America, murdering at least twenty-two women while drifting from city to city under false identities. Known as the Gorilla Man and the Dark Strangler, Nelson was a deeply disturbed sexual predator whose life was marked by childhood tragedy, mental illness, brain injury, prison sentences, and multiple escapes from psychiatric institutions. This is an especially wild one. Merch and more: www.badmagicproductions.com Timesuck Discord! https://discord.gg/tqzH89v Want to join the Cult of the Curious PrivateFacebook Group? Jason defines the art of silence as advantageous when implemented strategically. Caitlin Clark has opted for silence, even as her mysterious injuries and on-court abuse become the primary focus for analysts, teammates, journalists, and the Caitlin Clark social media “cult.” As the old axiom goes, silence is golden, particularly when avoiding the possibility of just quitting. Sam, Dylan, and Dark Smith are back to break down: Dark Smith's job interview to become an escort and the loofah-color swinger code of Florida's villages, the Boyle Heights fire spilling Freon and ammonia while firefighters spray a blaze they can't reach (and the owner being a Karen Bass donor), a documentary trying to abolish the Electoral College, the deep origins of the Vatican built on top of Vatican Hill, the pagan goddess Cybele and the Anatolian mother god Magna Mater brought to Rome via the prophetic Sibylline Books after Hannibal's slaughter at Cannae, the blood-baptism bull-sacrifice rituals later dug up by archaeologists, H.P. Lovecraft's "The Rats in the Walls" and its cannibal cult, the serpent-shaped Vatican auditorium and the Pope's fish-head mitre tied to the Babylonian fish god Dagon (who turns out to be Godzilla), Sam's pitch for roller derby as the next great pro sport, the Iran war being "over" again with IAEA inspectors as the "milestone" achieved by undoing the milestone, Israel allegedly trying to assassinate the negotiators before Trump called them off, Nicki Minaj's distraction-death theory, JD Vance's Thiel-engineered glow-up, the Albanians tearing their country apart over Jared and Ivanka's island and Sam's theory it's about controlling the Strait of Otranto, the nu-metal psyop, military stock buybacks instead of R&D, Bezos prioritizing AI water over "baseline human comfort," and a woman who lost ten years of memory from straining too hard on the toilet. It only took us three years, but we finally got Lacey Williams on the show. Lacey is CWS founding member #001, an Appalachian folklorist, historian, cryptozoologist, speaker, author, and all-round powerhouse in the strange and unusual. In this Cult of Conspiracy edition, we talk about the darker side of Appalachian folklore, including Black Eyed Kids, the Hopkinsville Goblins, and of course, Mothman. It's spooky, fascinating, a little scary, and exactly the kind of conversation we love having at Cryptid Women's Society. Follow Lacey on Instagram and Facebook @Laceywilliams.cci〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰

The spirit had vowed to put John Bell in his grave, and on a December morning in 1820 a coma, a smoky vial of black poison, and a dead barn cat proved she meant every word.EPISODE BLOG PAGE (includes sources): https://weirddarkness.com/bellwitchfinallaughREAD or DOWNLOAD the full transcript of this episode: https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/yfpsnbfwFEATURED STORIES IN THIS EPISODE: Did a malevolent spirit cause the death of John Bell, or was it something else that brought his demise? Copyright ©2026, Weird Darkness.Originally aired: December, 2021Weird Darkness gathers four accounts of the inexplicable across this episode — a frontier farmer poisoned by a spirit, a midnight keyboard played by no one, the worldwide superstitions surrounding human skulls, and a hidden reading of the Watergate burglary. It opens with the death of John Bell, the Tennessee gentleman farmer remembered as the only man ever murdered by a spirit. For nearly four years the entity known as the Bell Witch had tormented his household with attacks, flying objects, and a disembodied voice, singling out Bell and his daughter Elizabeth, called Betsy, for the worst of it. On the morning of December 19, 1820, Bell could not be roused from a deep stupor, and his son John Jr. found the cupboard of prescribed medicines emptied and replaced by a smoky-looking vial holding a dark, nearly black liquid. The witch laughed over his bed and admitted she had dosed "Old Jack" the night before; when Alex Gunn brought in a barn cat and a straw of the liquid was drawn across its tongue, the animal screeched, whirled, and dropped dead. Dr. Hopson confirmed Bell had swallowed the contents, Frank Miles hurled the vial into the fire where it flared blue up the chimney, and Bell died early on December 20, 1820, never having woken. From there the episode turns to a quieter haunting, recounted by a father awakened at 1:14 a.m. on March 9, 2018 by a few composed notes from his twelve-year-old son's electronic keyboard. He found the boy sound asleep and the cat sitting upright on the bed, staring at the instrument, and when he pressed the keys himself no sound came because the power was switched off. The next morning he woke his son for school and recognized the boy's shirt, worn for the first time, as one that had belonged to his late brother, who died suddenly in 2015 and whose lifelong dream had been to play in his band, called Ghost Of. The shirt read "Rock Isn't Dead… it's just played by Ghost Of," and the brothers had shared a love of ghost stories and a standing joke that he would return to visit after death.Next comes a survey of the human skull as an object of dread and reverence stretching back through cultures on every continent, rooted in the old belief that the head housed the soul and offered a channel to the Other World. The segment weighs the disputed Celtic "Cult of the Head," with historian Ronald Hutton arguing the recurring head motif on Celtic metalwork reflects artistic fashion rather than worship, and moves through the 1612 trial of Lancashire witch Anne Chattox, hanged after she was accused of robbing graves for skulls and teeth. It gathers the screaming-skull legends of England, including Anne Griffiths of Burton Agnes Hall in Yorkshire, whose exhumed head was bricked into a staircase wall to quiet the slamming and crashing, and the skull at Bettiscombe Manor in Dorset, said to belong to an enslaved man brought from Nevis by the Pinney family and denied his promised burial in the Caribbean. The episode closes with a long, skeptical reexamination of Watergate that treats the official account as a fabrication. It returns to the June 17, 1972 arrest of five burglars inside the Democratic National Committee offices and the address book linking E. Howard Hunt to Nixon's White House, then argues, following journalist Jim Hougan's 1984 book Secret Agenda, that the men never actually bugged the building at all. James McCord, a senior figure in the CIA's Office of Security rather than the low-level technician he claimed, rented a line-of-sight surveillance room facing the wrong side of the complex, paid an employee to transcribe conversations from nonexistent wiretaps, and twice taped the stairwell locks horizontally across the door face so guards could not miss them. A key found on burglar Eugenio Martinez fit the desk of DNC secretary Ida Wells and pointed toward a suspected call-girl ring run out of the adjacent Columbia Plaza apartments, raising the possibility that Hunt and McCord, both career CIA men who lied about a decade-long association, sabotaged the break-in to shield a clandestine operation, to topple a president who had sidelined the agency, or both, taking the full truth with them to their graves.
For Semiotician Uklan Tel, the discovery of the object in the vaults of the New Archives was a gift he could scarcely have hoped for. The Holy City, walled and impenetrable, had fascinated him for so long. He'd pored over the Marieldan documents and artifacts that the Archives had collected over the years so many times that his name repeated in the access cards like a prayer . But here was something new - misfiled, overlooked - that had evaded his eye all this time. He was starting to take notes for a book. We could not be more excited to unveil the Marielda 10th Anniversary Vinyl Soundtrack edition in all its unfolding, kaleidoscopic color, and let you know that it is now available to preorder at lostincult.co.uk/marielda. A very limited number of signed copies still remain, to be followed by a second, unsigned run. This extra-special edition, which began in early ideas and sketches six long years ago, is based on concepts by Annie Johnston-Glick and illustrated by Elemei, and is created in collaboration with the British publisher and designworks Lost in Cult. The centerpiece, alongside the full Marielda soundtrack, is the "star book", an unfolding, layered diorama showing four scenes from that fateful High Sun Day, secured by a red ribbon. This object exists in-fiction and tells a story, discovered in the cavernous vaults of The New Archives by Semiotician Uklan Tel, and shipped (much to the chagrin of the Archives' Exceptional Loans division) to a friend in Velas. In addition to the vinyl and star book, contained inside are two enamel pins showing coinage of ancient Hieron, as well as five bone-white d6 dice emblazoned with the sigil of the second god to rule the holy city. Alongside Tel's covering letter, you can also find eight pieces of Marieldan paper ephemera: an undelivered postcard bought by a holidaymaker at a pleasure garden, a double-sided broadsheet of Marielda's newspaper "The Charioteer", and six other mysterious pieces from the City of First Light at a time of great change. Oh, and there's also a 7" vinyl with a plain red label, and we'll say no more on that for now. We've already been blown away by yesterday's response to this project from our Patrons, which has really helped demonstrate that there's an audience for physical media projects from Friends at the Table. It has been an absolute joy to return to this world in collaboration with such incredible artists and designers. Writing in character as gods, citizens, and tourists to the holy city (as well as people thousands of years later, trying to make sense of what they hold in their hands) has been a real treat and we are so excited to finally - finally! - get to share it with you.

Trigger Warning: This episode contains discussions of domestic abuse and child SA. Please listen with caution. Five wives. A revered spiritual leader. A celebrated actor whose role in Dances with Wolves made him famous around the world. For decades, Nathan Chasing Horse cultivated an image as a respected medicine man and cultural figure - but behind the scenes was a sprawling web of sexual abuse, manipulation, and control. Nathan Chasing Horse used his spiritual authority to convince followers that he possessed supernatural powers, that he could see the future, and that young girls were destined to become his wives. What emerged was a story that sounds less like a religious community and more like a cult: one built on fear, obedience, and the unchecked power of a man who was treated as untouchable — until survivors finally spoke out and brought his reign of abuse crashing down. Today's Headlines: Anti-ICE protesters in Texas were sentenced to between 50 and 100 years in prison after a judge stacked consecutive sentences for each count — normally they'd run concurrently — in what was explicitly viewed as a test case for how courts will handle dissent against the Trump administration, and separately the DOJ indicted 15 Minnesota protesters for "violently opposing federal law enforcement" by trying to block ICE arrests, so the message is clear. The Washington Post dropped a blockbuster investigation revealing that Tulsi Gabbard's political career was effectively run by her cult leader guru Chris Butler, who emailed her directives from a special address telling her what policies to support, how to behave on television, and writing her tweets down to the word and exact time to post. Ukraine, meanwhile, is winning the intelligence war against Russia using an underground network of "vidmas" — female honey pots drawn from Ukrainian folklore — to locate Russian troops for drone strikes, and separately knocked out power to half of Russian-occupied Crimea. On the Iran war beat, the Senate passed a war powers resolution to prevent further military action in Iran on its tenth attempt — ten! — with four Republicans joining Democrats, Fetterman voting for the war, and Mitch McConnell still missing. In a rare bipartisan effort, Congress also passed a housing bill banning private equity from buying more than 350 homes at once and relaxing local building regulations, which won't fix the housing crisis immediately but is technically something. In other news, Foreign hackers from Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea are infiltrating American homes through smart devices and cheap consumer gadgets like digital photo frames to steal data. Also, the Trump administration installed AI surveillance towers around the reflecting pool in the rain — which refilled the pool they had just drained — and put up chain link fences around the national monument, classy. Finally, SpaceX's stock is already down 45% from its all-time high less than two weeks after its IPO, and the company has already issued $25 billion in bonds despite just raising $75 billion, which is not a great sign. As we continue our journey into the films of friends of Kevin Smith, we hit two completely different films about complex people in complex situations. First up, we deal with some bullying and revenge in the film A BETTER PLACE. Then, we get dressed up to deal with bullying and clown revenge in VULGAR.
David Gray went through the roof with his White Ladder album in 2000 and he's toured and recorded ever since, ending this summer's loop at Latitude. He talks to us here about the rigours of seeing bands when you lived in rural Wales and the hilarious, hard-won lessons of the first gigs he played himself and every possible shade of crowd reaction. It's an absolute whirlwind from start to finish and features ... ... playing weddings, clubs, festivals and a Welsh village regatta … the role of music in the construction of your character … the turning point: “I arrived onstage to more applause than I'd ever had when leaving” … the time gave Morrissey his string of beads … the emotional architecture of live performance and how Elvis programmed his shows … vivid memories of seeing the Cult (“bloody nose”), the Mission (“headbutted”) and the Stranglers (“we left terrified”) … running from stage to stage at Glastonbury in ‘86 and the insular genius of the Cure … his Liverpool punk band in their perishing “Joycean” flat … the unbeatable sound of a crowd singing one of your songs … Nick Drake's frail sensibility and the value of growing a hard skin. On this episode of The Common Good, hosts Doug Pagitt and Robb Ryerse dive deep into a news cycle defined by manufactured distractions and hidden influences. The conversation begins with a sober look at the geopolitical landscape, tracking the continued danger radiating from Iran as regional instability threatens to boil over. Yet, while critical national security concerns demand the country's full attention, Donald Trump remains hyper-focused on an entirely different kind of swamp: the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. The hosts unpack the administration's bizarre obsession with the botched "American Flag Blue" renovation—now a peeling, algae-ridden public relations disaster—and the outright lies and wild conspiracy theories being spun to deflect from executive incompetence. Finally, the discussion turns to the bombshell investigative reports surrounding Tulsi Gabbard following her sudden exit from her senior national security role. Doug and Robb unpack the disturbing evidence detailing her deep, long-standing ties to a secretive religious sect. They examine how the group's leadership actively worked behind the scenes to dictate her policy positions, raising critical questions about autonomy, judgment, and the quiet forces shaping American political power. For a deeper look at the breaking investigations into these behind-the-scenes dynamics, you can watch this report on Tulsi Gabbard's ties. On June 28th, 1969, New York City police expected another routine raid on a gay bar. Instead, they found a community that had finally had enough. This week, we explore the long history of anti-LGBTQ+ persecution in America, the explosive events of the Stonewall Riots, and how a few nights of resistance helped ignite the modern fight for queer liberation. Tim Harford of the podcast Cautionary Tales sits down with David McRaney to hear a story from David's book, How Minds Change, about how (and why) a prominent conspiracy theorist realized he was wrong. Charlie Veitch was certain that 9/11 was an inside job. The attack on the World Trade Center wasn't the work of Al-Qaeda, but an elaborate conspiracy. He became a darling of so-called “9/11 truthers” until he actually visited Ground Zero to meet architects, engineers and the relatives of the dead. The trip changed his mind. His fellow “truthers” did not take Charlie's conversion well. Today, he's joining me to unpack Thiel's new obsession, and why other billionaires also seem taken by Argentina lately.
Send us Fan MailWith Steven Spielberg's new film Disclosure dropping and President Trump's UAP files being declassified in real time, this felt like the moment I had to bring you this story. I brought on UAP documentary filmmaker Darcy Weir to break down something that's going to blow your mind — a massive grift happening in the UAP and paranormal world that operates eerily similar to Scientology, and once you hear the parallels, you will never look at these "disclosure" influencers the same way again. We get into Corey Goode, David Wilcock, and the Gaia show Cosmic Disclosure — the secret space program mythology they built, the lawsuits, the money, and a mysterious death that's sparked a whole new conspiracy of its own. I even tie it back to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and a cast member's own manifestation grift, so stick around for that twist. Then I'm getting into massive RHONJ tea — Milania Giudice has reportedly been sent somewhere very specific, and I'm telling you exactly what that means and why Bravo's version of events doesn't add up. I also have proof that someone very specific is still controlling her social media, and wait until you hear how I figured it out. Plus, there's a wild detail about what really happened the day the police were called that nobody's talking about, and a rumor about who might be stepping back from the show entirely this season. Then it's a full Summer House breakdown — the real reason behind West Wilson's alleged master plan to take over the show, what really went down between him, Amanda Batula, and the rest of the cast, plus Meija Moreno's side of the story that didn't make it to air and the explosive cut scene with Lindsay Hubbard that you need to hear to believe. “Just 25 literary agents represent more than half of all prizewinning novelists in the 21st century. The agent is the unacknowledged legislator of the literary field.” — Laura McGrath We think of publishers and editors as the ultimate tastemakers. As those godlike gatekeepers controlling what we read. But if you're looking for literary gods, Laura McGrath argues, then you need to look at literary agents rather than publishers or editors. Her ten-year project, Middlemen: Literary Agents and the Making of American Fiction, is the first serious scholarly account of the literary agent's astonishingly powerful role in shaping what America reads. Except, of course, the Middlemen are actually Middlewomen — since 80% of literary agents are women. The numbers are striking. Just 25 literary agents represent more than half of all prizewinning novelists in the 21st century. McGrath interviewed 75 of them over ten years. Shelley called poets the unacknowledged legislators of the world. McGrath's agents are the unacknowledged legislators of the literary field. They shaped postmodernism (Candida Donadio and Pynchon, Heller, Gaddis). They launched the debut novel as a literary form. They made the short story collection viable. And 25 of them control more than half of the prizes. So will AI replace the agent? In operations, perhaps, McGrath acknowledges — the slush pile is overwhelming and smart machine assistance is welcome. But in creative work — in the business of writing, editing, translation, cover design, and above all taste — she thinks not. No algorithm will ever learn the Catch-22 of publishing — separating the Thomas Pynchon or Joseph Heller from all the dross. And no bot (male or female) is ever going to host a three-martini lunch in Manhattan. Five Takeaways • The Literary Agent as the New Gatekeeper: Replacing the Publisher: In the early 20th century, publishing was shaped by the taste of individual publishers: Bennett Cerf at Random House, Alfred and Blanche Knopf at their imprint, Max Perkins at Scribner's. Those days are over. Publishers are now conglomerates where individual editors may have excellent taste but no single figure shapes the house. Into that vacuum has come the literary agent — who now operates, McGrath argues, exactly as the great publishers once did: as the primary tastemaker, the person whose aesthetic and commercial judgment shapes what America reads. • 25 Agents, Half the Prizes, 80% Women: The Numbers: McGrath's most striking statistical finding: just 25 literary agents represent more than half of all prizewinning novelists in the 21st century. Twenty-five people. The field is 80% women — hence the tongue-in-cheek title — and 73% white. Agents tend, McGrath found, to represent authors who resemble themselves. One answer to the question “why is contemporary literary fiction so white?” is: because agents are. And agents, because they work on contingency fees rather than salaries, face severe financial pressures that concentrate power at the top of the profession. • The Unacknowledged Legislators: Agents Shaped American Literary History: McGrath's book is full of literary history rewritten from the agent's perspective. Sterling Lord persisted past dozens of rejections to place On the Road for Kerouac. Candida Donadio — Pynchon's, Heller's, Gaddis's, and early Philip Roth's agent — championed maximalist, experimental writers whom no one was interested in, and built the social network of editor relationships that made postmodernism possible. The debut novel as a cultural form, the persistence of the short story collection despite poor sales, the rise of the New York novel — all are, in McGrath's account, partly agent-made. • Can White Male Writers Not Get Published? No: Andrew raises the complaint he hears from white male writers: that they can no longer get published because of diversity initiatives. McGrath's answer is flat. No. She thinks it's silly. The number of books published each week is staggering. Being able to see some success on the part of writers of colour does not diminish the work white men are doing. The complaint, she notes, circulates every ten years, typically after a boom in support for writers of colour. We are in another round of this cycle. There will be another one in a decade. • Will AI Replace the Literary Agent? In Operations, Maybe. In Taste, No: Andrew's closing question: will AI replace the middlemen? McGrath draws the distinction she heard at the US Book Show: AI in operations (slush pile management, contract tracking), yes, possibly. AI in creative work — writing, editing, translation, cover design, and above all taste — she hopes not. An algorithm is built on priors. It narrows the window of possibility endlessly, replicating itself. That is not what a good literary agent does. A good literary agent is looking for books that surprise, frustrate, and thrill. No algorithm has learned to take an author out for a three-martini lunch. About the Guest Laura McGrath is an assistant professor of English at Temple University and a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellow. She was formerly the associate director of the Literary Lab at Stanford University. She is the author of Middlemen: Literary Agents and the Making of American Fiction (Princeton University Press, April 28, 2026). She writes the textCrunch Substack on literary and publishing culture. Peter and Eden run through a rapid-fire list of pop culture hot takes covering movies, TV, music, books, and games. The Star Wars watch order debate kicks things off (original trilogy only for Peter, release order for Eden), Eden defends Batman & Robin and F-Boy Island as unironically great, both agree the Beatles are played out, and they end on a shared appreciation for Alpha Centauri as the peak of the Civilization franchise.Show NotesWhat Eden's Been IntoK-pop roundup: LE SSERAFIM's new album, aespa's Lemonade LP, and ITZY's Motto EP (featuring solo tracks from each member)Reading: The web novel Long Awaited Feelings (1,900 pages about a woman who time-travels after her death) and rereading How Do We Relationship? Eden says release order (4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, Rogue One) to preserve cultural/historical contextEden defends Batman & Robin: "It's the second best Batman movie. George Clooney's a bad Batman, he's got nipples on the Batsuit, he's got the Bat credit card — it's great."Eden declares Saving Private Ryan a bad movie to the horror of everyone at the comic book shopBest Pixar: Eden picks Ratatouille (doesn't like most Pixar). Peter picks The IncrediblesCorrect max runtime: 90 minutes (Eden) vs 120 minutes (Peter) — anything longer needs to earn itSequel that's better: Peter says Captain America: Winter Soldier > First Avenger. Eden says Tokyo Drift is the best Fast & Furious movieCitizen Kane: Eden concedes it's the rare masterpiece that actually earns its reputation — a bunch of first-time filmmakers who didn't know the rulesHot Takes — TVShows that stayed too long: The Simpsons (Peter). Nearly every comedy past season 3 (Eden)Best series finale: M*A*S*H's "Goodbye, Farewell and Amen" and Babylon 5 (Eden). Brooklyn 99 (Peter)Worst series finale: Battlestar Galactica (new) — "the most incomprehensible finale you'll ever watch" (Eden). Seinfeld (Peter)Reality TV worth defending: F-Boy Island — 24 guys, half are "nice guys" and half are fuckboys, the women pick, and the fuckboys can steal the $100k at the end. Nice guys get a villa; fuckboys get a literal prison camp on the beachAdult animation vs prestige drama: Eden says Bob's Burgers is the only good adult animation show right now. Prestige TV is in a nadir of expensive Game of Thrones clonesHot Takes — MusicNever need to hear again: The entire Beatles discography (both agree)Best decade by genre: 80s for rock/pop, 90s for alt, aughts for indie, right now for K-pop (Eden). 2010s for metal — the genre found its stride again after a grim 90s (Peter)Bands that should have stopped: Dream Theater after Awake (Eden). Opeth's last 15 years are all misses (Eden). Peter agrees on bothGreatest live album: Rush — Exit...Stage Left (Peter). The Bang on a Can recording of Terry Riley's In C (Eden — "the finest version I've ever seen")Albums > playlists: Both firmly team albums. Eden has a 16-hour "K-pop Brain Rot" playlist for shuffling, but that's the exceptionHot Takes — BooksAudiobooks = reading? Leans yes from both, but acknowledges the research is contradictory (small sample sizes, brain scan studies on both sides)E-readers vs physical: Peter goes digital 9 times out of 10 (lighter, portable, side-lit). Eden does physical for comics, e-books for prose (form factor matters less for text, but hates reading comics on a screen)Hot Takes — GamesFavorite game of all time: Mass Effect 2 (Peter — tighter gameplay than ME1, loyalty missions, assembling the crew). Doom (1993) (Eden — infinitely replayable with new WADs every day, nothing feels as fluid)Best console generation: Xbox 360 / PS3 era (both) — Halo 3 LAN parties, Gears of War couch co-op, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Fallout 3/NV, Viva Piñata, and yes, Sneak KingOpen world vs linear: Both prefer a tight 20-hour experience over a 100-hour open worldFranchise that peaked early: Age of Empires II (Peter — nothing since comes close). And Eden's shitpost answer of the day: Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri is better than every Civilization game that came...

This week, Nikki G., host of Surviving the Black Church and survivor of FIVE different high-control groups, discusses joining the first church on her cult-hopping journey, how she got initially pulled down the rabbit hole by conspiracy theories and the Book of Revelation, and the intensity and community that drew her to each group. She tells the girls about her second and more radical group, IHOP (International House of Prayer), how she eventually learned the term “religious addiction,” and why the idea of “waiting for your Boaz,” or your perfect husband, can be so harmful for women in the church. The traditional education system is actively destroying your child's potential and turning them into a passive consumer. They reveal why perfect grades fail to prepare students for real life and how schools favor behavior management over human development. What do seed oils, vaccine skepticism, beef tallow, and a guy with a dead bear in Central Park have in common? Welcome to the Cult of MAHA. This week, Amanda, Reese, Chelsea, and Iman dive headfirst into the increasingly influential world of Make America Healthy Again, the wellness-meets-politics movement promising cleaner food, healthier kids, and freedom from Big Pharma. But where does legitimate criticism of America's healthcare system end and pseudoscience begin? And how did a movement that started with organic groceries and food dyes end up helping measles make a comeback? Joining us is physician, internet educator, and professional misinformation debunker Doctor Mike (@doctor.mike) to help us separate fact from fiction, unpack RFK Jr.'s growing influence, and examine why so many otherwise smart, well-meaning people are getting pulled into the MAHA rabbit hole. Put down the raw milk, step away from the parasite cleanse, and join us as we ask: Is MAHA making America healthy "again"... or just making conspiracy theories easier to swallow?
