Today is a mosh posh episode where we discuss all sorts of things being thrown around in the dog training world that are completely unhelpful or double standards that we put on dog trainers.
In a widely discussed interview with Ambassador Mike Huckabee, Tucker Carlson raised fundamental questions about Jewish identity:Is Judaism a religion or an ethnicity? Can converts truly belong?Should DNA determine who has a claim to Israel? And does the Bible provide legitimate grounds for Jewish connection to the land? These are not merely political questions. They go to the heart of Jewish peoplehood. In this episode of Proudly Jewish, Rabbi Eyal Bitton examines three key moments from the interview and explains why Jewish identity cannot be reduced to race, religion, or modern Western categories — and why exile does not erase indigeneity.Questioning whether Jews are really a people is not criticism of Israel — it's something else entirely.***0:00 Introduction – The Interview Everyone Is Talking About 0:35 When the Conversation Shifts to Jewish Identity 1:16 What Exactly Is a Jew? 4:14 The Category Trap: Religion or Ethnicity? 4:46 Jewish Identity Explained – A Covenantal People 5:45 Yahadut vs. “Judaism” – Nationhood Before Modern Categories 7:09 Asking for Genetic Proof 9:56 DNA and the Question of Legitimacy 10:51 A Double Standard for Jews 11:17 The Audacity of Questioning Jewish Peoplehood 13:00 What Happens If We Fail the Test? 14:08 Why This Isn't Theoretical 22:11 Jewish Identity Needs No External Certification 23:24 A Joinable People – Ruth and King David 23:45 A Living Civilization – We Are a People***With clips from Tucker Carlson's interview with Amb. Emily talks with novelists Amy Safford and Misty O'Hara about what matters to them and the personal stories behind their books. Amy shares how her Goode Vibrations series explores intuition, spiritual transformation, magical realism, and buried history, and how a skiing accident helped push her to finish her first novel, Goode Vibrations of the Resting Place, followed by Goode Vibrations of the Dead River Valley. Misty discusses how her first novel, The Hundred Man Plan, was sparked after her mom died of ALS and she questioned her life, leading her to write fiction that challenges sexual double standards for women. (00:00:00) Men are often celebrated for passionately supporting sports teams—spending money, getting emotional, and “fangirling” over players—while women are frequently mocked for showing the same level of enthusiasm for musicians, makeup, athletes, or concerts. The double standard treats identical behaviors differently depending on gender, even though both are simply forms of fandom and joy. We take a deep dive into this idea and stigma with Professor Mary Zaborskis from Penn State Harrisburg. (00:21:03) Born in 1947 as a “blue baby” with undiagnosed Tetralogy of Fallot, he was initially given little chance of surviving childhood. After moving to Carlisle, it took seven years before a cardiologist in Philadelphia agreed to treat him. Over the decades, he underwent multiple major heart surgeries: a Blalock‑Taussig‑Thomas shunt in 1958, a Waterston shunt in 1967, and finally a full TOF repair in 1980 by Dr. John Kirklin—an operation that transformed his stamina and daily life. His long-term care continued through several cardiologists, most notably Dr. William Davidson at Penn State Hershey, who guided him through a pulmonary valve replacement in 2005 and later the implantation of an ICD to manage arrhythmias and ventricular tachycardia. After Dr. Davidson’s passing in 2022, he transitioned to the care of Dr. Elizabeth Adams.Following Dr. Davidson’s advice, he became active in the Adult Congenital Heart Association (ACHA), finding community, education, and purpose as a peer mentor for others with CHD—especially those with TOF. He emphasizes that people with congenital heart disease are never “fixed,” only “repaired,” and often require ongoing interventions throughout life.Despite the challenges, he has lived a full, rich life, with a family he’s deeply proud of, and a personal mission to support and reassure others navigating CHD.Support WITF: https://www.witf.org/support/give-now/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this edition of Kim on a Whim, Kim St. Onge calls out the hypocrisy surrounding St. Louis City SC's new restrictions at CITYPARK—now rebranded as Energizer Park. After previously ejecting a fan for wearing a MAGA hat, the team now bans Black Lives Matter and transgender pride flags under Major League Soccer's code of conduct. Kim and Dan Buck debate whether teams should enforce neutrality or allow all viewpoints, warning that inconsistent “inclusivity” rules only fuel division. Their verdict: let fans be free—just keep the politics off the field. No Tabang this week, but the energy is still up.The guys kick off with everyday economics — refill stores, cheaper essentials, and how branding plays us. From there it turns into real adult talk: parenting struggles, phonics vs memorisation, and the frustration of helping your kid with maths homework when the methods don't even make sense anymore. Then it gets political. SONA promises, water task teams, billion-rand budgets, and leaders saying they had to shower at hotels — while communities still go dry. The conversation moves into crime, Zama Zamas, whether deploying soldiers is extreme or necessary, and whether communities are slowly losing control. The second half gets spicy: gender roles, “house husband” perceptions, interracial dating dynamics, unemployment stigma, and what really defines a “bum” in a relationship. They close it off with a listener dilemma about a biological father wanting back into his child's life — and the tension that creates in a new household.00:00 Refill stores & cheaper essentials02:36 Episode intro – Season 19 Episode 203:35 Uzuri Online & Standby Auto Repairs plug10:31 Parenting & why phonics matters19:33 Maths homework struggles39:16 SONA recap & water crisis frustration44:54 “Hotel shower” comments & public outrage54:24 Gangs, PAGAD & community safety01:04:23 Zama Zamas & “send the soldiers?” debate01:15:45 Travel stories & airline frustrations01:49:00 Gender roles & interracial dating dynamics01:58:24 What makes someone a “bum”?02:04:06 Attraction, standards & relationship equity02:08:45 Listener dilemma – stepfather vs biological father02:15:53 Boundaries, courts & household alignment02:29:24 How not to approach co-parenting conflict

Tara dives headfirst into a firestorm of controversy — from claims of selective fraud investigations and strict FCC enforcement on radio hosts to outrage over explicit NFL performances and alleged media double standards. The episode expands into heated debates over immigration enforcement, surveillance technology, voter roll transparency, and whether powerful institutions are playing by entirely different rules than everyday Americans. This episode weaves together multiple high-stakes topics shaping today's political and cultural battles. Tara discusses allegations of preferential treatment in fraud investigations, contrasting strict FCC regulations on broadcasters with claims that major entertainment platforms avoid consequences. The conversation shifts to immigration enforcement statistics, congressional confrontations, and disputes over voter registration policies and election transparency. The episode also explores modern surveillance concerns — comparing AI camera networks and private technology systems to broader national security debates. JANUARY 31, 2026 HOUR 2: Peter Boyles opens the phones and tackles one of the most explosive stories in politics — the latest Epstein-related allegations and their sudden reemergence in the media. Why now?If the evidence were real, why hasn’t it already detonated? And why does this story feel more like a political weapon than a search for truth? Boyles connects patterns from history, questions media motives, and lets callers weigh in as the conversation moves from Epstein to Trump, trust in institutions, and whether the public is being manipulated yet again. This is unfiltered talk radio — skeptical, unscripted, and unwilling to accept narratives at face value. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Slam The Gavel welcomes back Marc Fishman to the podcast. Marc was last on Season 6, Episode 343. Today we talked about the 'double standards of justice' and putting 'teeth' into a law questioning the protection of former police officers that have been labeled, 'PATTERN MISCONDUCT,' by the AG in New York. In April of 2021, Governor Cuomo signed in the Law Enforcement Misconduct Law into the Social Justice Unit of the Attorney General's Office. Since that time 38 officers have been reviewed for misconduct. This law requires that the Police Chief of NY notify the AG when a police officer had had five or more incidents of reported misconduct. Once the AG is notified, they are supposed to investigate. Send us a textWelcome back to the Concrete Genius Pod with Sauce Mackenzie. On this episode, Sauce opens with love and gratitude for the listeners, then dives headfirst into one of the most emotionally charged and honest NFL conversations you'll hear all season. We start with a moment of silence for the Buffalo Bills — arguably the most heartbreaking franchise in modern sports. From Scott Norwood to overtime losses, Buffalo's pain is generational. Sauce breaks down the latest collapse, why it hurt so bad, and why the Super Bowl window is never guaranteed. Then comes the real conversation.Sauce addresses the national media's obsession with Josh Allen — not to attack him, but to defend the truth. Josh Allen is talented. He's passionate. He's elite. But why does the media refuse to hold him accountable the same way they do other quarterbacks? Why are turnovers excused for Josh Allen but magnified for Lamar Jackson or Jalen Hurts? Why was Cam Newton crucified for one Super Bowl moment while Josh Allen is protected from criticism after multiple costly mistakes?Sauce draws historical comparisons to Peyton Manning, John Elway, and Brett Favre, reminding listeners that greatness requires accountability — not excuses. From media hypocrisy to racial bias in sports narratives, from Buffalo's organizational questions to what real leadership and criticism should look like, this episode is raw, uncomfortable, and necessary.Sauce also:Questions whether Buffalo needs organizational changeBreaks down why babying Josh Allen actually hurts his growthDiscusses playoff pressure, fan culture, and entitlementPredicts upcoming playoff outcomesBreaks down the Bears vs Rams matchup and why momentum mattersExplains why Seattle's defense is championship-levelTalks cold-weather football, travel fatigue, and real situational analysisThis isn't hate. This is honesty.

Welcome to 2026, and we're back... even if Parliament and the school system aren't. This is the first Editor in Chief of an election year, and Duncan isn't easing into it quietly. We dig into the long summer shutdown for politicians and teachers and ask whether it's completely out of step with how the rest of New Zealand lives and works. While families, businesses and tradies are already back at it, those at the top continue to lecture the country about productivity, sacrifice and working harder. Duncan calls out what he sees as hypocrisy, double standards and leadership that clocks off when the country can't afford it. The hour rolls into “Kim on a Whim,” where Kim breaks down Trump's push to block corporate homebuyers in a bid to ease the housing crisis—sparking debate about free markets, affordability, and HOAs. Everyone claims to hate them, but many still benefit from them.In this episode of SipTalk, we break down some of the most common double standards people complain about, defend, ignore, or conveniently overlook. We talk about why they exist, when they're genuinely unfair, and when they're actually practical or even necessary. This isn't a rant episode. It's a real conversation about human behavior, social expectations, and the uncomfortable truth that fairness isn't always symmetrical. Some double standards deserve to be called out. The series is presented by these two organizations and co-sponsored by the U.S. Peace Council, Code Pink, Veterans for Peace, and the Nicaragua Solidarity Coalition. This episode featured: Jesús Rodríguez-Espinosa, the Editor of the Orinoco Tribune and a former Venezuelan diplomat; Richard Falk, professor of international law and former UN special rapporteur for Palestine (also, a board member of Just World Ed); andCorinna Mullin, a leaders in the US Peace Council and the Anti-imperialist Scholars Collective.Mr. Rodríguez Espinoza spoke with us from Venezuela and described the widespread networks of Bolivárian solidarity that provide resilience for Venezuelan society under the onslaught from U.S. imperialism. He stressed that internal cohesion and international partnerships remained key. He addressed sanctions and framed them as part of a wider strategy to weaken the state and society. Dr. Mullin focused on sanctions as collective punishment. She linked them to shortages, economic harm, and media narratives that obscure their impact and challenged the legal basis used to justify these measures. Professor Falk placed Venezuela's case within international law. He reflected on sovereignty, coercive measures, and the need to hear the perspective of those targeted by power politics. He welcomed analysis rooted in lived experience rather than external narratives. The speakers and moderators engaged in a broad conversation on these issues before the webinar closed with a call to confront the information blockade and to ground debate in law, facts, and solidarity.Support the show

President Trump launched his nationwide campaign rally focused on affordability and his economic agenda last night in the Pennsylvania Poconos. According to his administration's finance team, Trump's proposed tax cuts are designed to put more money in Americans' pockets. Meanwhile, Democrats continue to use the term “affordability” as a way to dismiss the President's economic plan. Mark interviews Monica Crowley, the Chief of Protocol of the United States. Monica discusses keeping pace with President Trump's energetic and fast-moving agenda. She shares that many deals and strategic initiatives are being developed behind the scenes to help Make America Great Again. Mark also wonders: Do young people know the classic Christmas songs that have stood the test of time? Mark interviews author Ann Coulter. Together, they discuss the so-called affordability crisis that Democrats claim is plaguing New York City, noting what they see as double standards from the left.
