Send us a Text Message.Kevin Keats is part of a long line of prospectors in his family, one that stretches all the way back to his great-great-grandfather, and now includes his own sons.In 1969, Noranda Explorations opened an office in Gander. Mr. Keats and his son Allan thought the company might be interested in the lost silver mine.In 2007  Ted and Allan Keats for the Keats-Stares prospecting family received the Bill Dennis Award for a Canadian discovery or prospecting success:The four generations of this Newfoundland family have all been involved in prospecting. Ted, the father, was involved in the discovery of the Point Leamington, Burnt Pond and Tally Pond zones. Sons Al, Calvin, Fred, and Suley followed in their father's footsteps. Al worked with his father on the Point Leamington and Tally Pond discoveries and also discovered Duck Pond and Winter Hill. Calvin has worked all over the world, discovering South Golden Promise and numerous uranium showings in Labrador. Fred discovered a 36-ounce/ton VG boulder on the Appleton Linear for Noranda (now optioned to Paragon). Suley discovered the Beaver Brook deposit with Calvin and has been looking for uranium in Labrador. The following generations – grandsons and great grandsons – are all actively involved in prospecting. To quote Peter Dimmell "I say prospectors have an advantage over geologists because they don't know scientifically what to look for. They look in all the wrong places and find all the right stuff. They just go out, and see something different, and bang on it, smack it with a hammer. That's how these guys worked."It's a sixth sense. You go in the woods, and all the rocks look the same. But for some reason one looks different to these guys. And they break it."In this episode you will first see an interview Gerry did with Allan Keats at Central Minex 2023 and immediately following that you will see an interview  Gale Force Wins did with Allan and his son Kevin at Central Minex 2024. This episode quacks me up. Fisheries management to produce quality fishing often requires actions that are counterproductive to attracting migratory ducks and vice versa. But in this episode, we'll talk about some ways that you might be able to have the best of both worlds. Wes sits down with two leading experts in the duck realm, and they brainstorm on what can be done to bring more ducks to a small pond without necessarily hurting fishing opportunities. Any you'll receive wonderful egg-splanantion on the intricacies of duck biology, including how to deal with pesky resident geese. If you migrate to the link and listen to podcast, I promise I will quit quacking duck puns.    Do you have questions or comments? The attraction will hopefully reopen with this section behind scrims. – https://www.micechat.com/372173-disneyland-update-treehouse-triumph-jungle-turbulence-toontown-turmoil/ As we reported on previously, part of Toontown have come out from behind construction walls. News: Over at MiceChat, Dusty Sage was able to have a conversation with higher-up associated with Tiana's Bayou Adventure where he expressed his dismay at the focus on the search for a missing ingredient. If Dusty is right, there is a lot more going on with this attraction. Per his conversation, it is a sort of fake out for guests concealing the fact that they are doing a lot more with this attraction than has been announced. Massive set pieces are being installed to make this much more grand than the attraction that it is replacing. They are also spending a considerable amount on this project that they could have built an entirely new attraction. – https://www.micechat.com/371000-disneyland-update-snowfall-pumpkins-missed-opportunities/ It is possible that by the time you listen to this, the Adventureland Treehouse could be open! We've seen quite a few fruit beers in the Swedish beer scene. Friends and Duckpond have been leading the way for the rest of Sweden to follow. Friends Sunny Berry Smooje is a gose with strawberry, raspberry, lemon and vanilla. Tart, sweet and a lot of fun to drink. Friends continues to experiment and bring out lots of great sour fruit beers. Duckpond has released a really odd beer. We've had lots of banana beers in the past, but they are usually a stout. A banana gose is a new one for us. Nik Gose Bananas is a gose with bananas and vanilla. It's a wild beer and we're glad we go to try it even if we didn't find it entirely successful.  #beer #craftbeer #drinks #fruitbeer #sourbeer #gose #pastrysour

Mickey's Toontown Review

Mickey's Toontown opened in Disneyland on January 24, 1993. The area was inspired by Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and resembled a set from a Max Fleischer cartoon. The buildings were, and still are, stylized and colorful. There are several attractions involving classic cartoon characters, such as the houses of Mickey and Minnie Mouse. The fictional backstory given for Mickey's Toontown is that it was a hidden Toon suburb that Mickey Mouse had moved to in 1930 to keep in touch with his humble Midwestern roots, with his friends following soon after. When Walt Disney was looking for a location to build Disneyland, Mickey pointed him towards a large orange grove nearby for him to build his park. After the park opened, Mickey and his friends would travel between their Toontown homes and Disneyland to meet the countless guests that visited the park, before eventually deciding to open their hometown to the public later in the 90s, digging a tunnel through the berm. On November 15, 2021, it was announced Mickey's Toontown would be closed until 2023 as part of an "ambitious reimagining project”. The new Toontown would include the exciting new ride Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway. Additionally, the long-closed Chip and Dale's Treehouse was removed, and a new park space, CenTOONial Park, was created adjacent to Goofy's Playhouse near the land's entrance. CenTOONial is now home to a new fountain of Mickey and Minnie and a Dreaming Tree inspired by the one Walt Disney sat under as a child in Marceline, Missouri. Other play areas in the reimagined land include Goofy's "How to Play" Yard surrounding Goofy's Playhouse and the Donald's Duck Pond splash pad at Donald's Boat. This new and exciting Mickey's Toontown opened on March 19th, 2023 and Rachel and Jeremiah were there to take in the new imagined themed area. In this podcast they review the new and improved family friendly area. They share details of their experience exploring an area of the park that they normally do not spend time in. This informative podcast should be very welcoming to anyone coming to visit. Connect with Mouse House Weekly: Facebook community Twitter Instagram Golden Spiral Media Feedback Page

Michael is the CEO of Evergreen Podcasts. It has been an illuminating and fun experience. As a published author, columnist for a large daily newspaper and former host of a syndicated radio program, Michael enjoys the tumult and opportunity the old media and new media industries offer. Born, raised and corn-fed in Dayton, OH, Michael took his first big step in the world by attending Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH. After graduating college, he worked as a software developer focusing on UNIX (the stone age of computer languages). Michael made his way to Cleveland, OH after being accepted into Case Western Reserve University. “Everything great in my life – both professionally and personally – has happened in Cleveland. What a great, great place to live.” Michael lives in Lakewood, OH with his wife and precocious daughter.   For all things Malliard, head over to malliard.com where you can catch past shows, sign up for the newsletter, and join in the Duck Pond every Tuesday night at 9 P.M.
