Send us a textConquering Fear with Faith – A Biblical Approach to Overcoming Anxiety and Finding Peace in God's PresenceIn this episode, we dive deep into fear—a common emotion that impacts people worldwide. Fear has the power to control our thoughts, actions, and peace, often causing anxiety and robbing us of joy. But there is hope—God's presence is the ultimate solution to fear. Through faith and scripture, we can overcome fear and find peace that transcends all understanding. We explore Psalm 23, a powerful scripture offering comfort and reassurance in the face of fear. In the darkest valleys of life, we are reminded that God is with us—His presence is a refuge. The comfort we find in these words shows us that no matter the challenges we face, God's promises offer strength and peace. The Biblical Perspective on FearFear is a natural human emotion, but when it becomes overwhelming, it can lead to anxiety, stress, and insecurity. The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind." Fear can keep us from living fully, but God offers us freedom from this stronghold. By choosing faith over fear, we can rise above it.Psalm 23 encourages us in verse 4: "Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me." God's constant presence provides comfort, making fear powerless in His love.Overcoming Fear with FaithFaith is a direct antidote to fear. In Isaiah 41:10, God promises, "Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you." This assurance empowers us to trust in God's strength and protection, knowing that fear does not have the final word. When we place our trust in God, we shift our focus from the fear itself to His unwavering presence. Philippians 4:6-7 teaches, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”Practical Steps to Overcome FearIf you're facing fear, here are steps to help you find peace:Acknowledge Your Fear: Recognize the fear you're feeling. Psalm 34:4 reminds us, "I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears."Pray and Trust in God: In prayer, lay your fears before God. 1 Peter 5:7 says, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”Meditate on Scripture: Reflect on God's promises. Psalm 23 and Isaiah 41:10 are powerful verses to remind you that God is with you.Find Community: Fear often isolates us, but Hebrews 10:24-25 encourages us to be in fellowship with others who can help us overcome fear through support and encouragement.Embracing Peace and Living FearlesslyAs we face fear in our lives, remember that God's peace is greater than any anxiety. John 14:27 says, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” By trusting in God and His Word, we can live fearlessly in His strength and peace.Key Topics Covered:Overcoming fear with faith and trust in GodThe comfort and assurance of Psalm 23Biblical answers to anxiety and fearScripture for overcoming fear: 2 Timothy 1:7, Isaiah 41:10, Philippians 4:6-7SSupport the showhttps://www.pastorbencooper.co.uk/
Send us a textEpisode Title: "God's Command Not to Fear" – Confronting Fear with Faith and Biblical WisdomAre you ready to confront your fears and reclaim your faith? In our latest episode, "God's Command Not to Fear," we dive deep into the concept of fear from a biblical perspective, helping you discover how to overcome anxiety and trust in God's unwavering promises. Fear is a powerful emotion that touches everyone, whether it's fear of failure, fear of the unknown, or the paralyzing fear that holds us back from fulfilling our divine purpose. Yet, the Bible offers us a profound blueprint to confront and conquer this emotion, reminding us that we are not alone. In this episode, we unpack fear's roots and how it affects our lives. By exploring scripture, we delve into Isaiah 41:10, where God assures us, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." These words of reassurance are a call to recognize God's presence and to trust in His promises of support, even when fear seems overwhelming.Biblical Wisdom on Fear: Fear is not just a fleeting emotion; it is often a tactic used by the enemy to cloud our judgment, leading us to question our faith and our ability to walk in the purpose God has set before us. Throughout the Bible, God commands us not to fear. In 2 Timothy 1:7, it is written, "For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control." This reminds us that fear does not come from God but is a tactic of the enemy to prevent us from embracing the fullness of God's will in our lives.Fear and Faith: A Delicate Balance: In this episode, we discuss the intricate relationship between fear and faith. Fear can distort our perceptions and hinder us from stepping into God's calling. When we are ruled by fear, we often miss the peace and assurance that comes with unwavering faith in God's plan for us. As we reflect on passages such as Psalm 34:4, "I sought the Lord, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears," we learn that faith in God brings us the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).We also explore the societal pressures and challenges that amplify our fears in today's world, from the fast-paced news cycle to cultural expectations that impose unrealistic standards. By grounding ourselves in the truth of God's Word, we can resist these external pressures and cultivate an unshakable confidence rooted in His love and faithfulness.Practical Steps to Overcome Fear: Listeners will leave this episode with practical, actionable steps to confront and overcome their fears. Through reflection, prayer, and scriptural meditation, we equip you with tools to anchor your faith in God's promises. Matthew 6:34 reminds us, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” When we let go of tomorrow's anxieties and focus on God's faithfulness in the present, fear begins to lose its grip on our hearts. The Power of Faith in Overcoming Fear: We conclude with a call to live boldly in faith. Romans 8:15 tells us, "The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship." This powerful truth reminds us that fear has no hold over those who are in Christ. With His Spirit within us, we are empowered to stand firm in our faith, casting aside all fear and walking confidently in His light.Don't let fear hold you back. In this harrowing episode of the classic radio show "The Whistler," listeners are drawn into a gripping narrative filled with betrayal, secrets, and eerie coincidences set against the backdrop of a chilling New York winter. The story begins as the host, embodying the character of the Whistler, invites the audience into his realm, creating an atmosphere thick with suspense and foreboding. This episode features a complex tale involving the young couple Paul Garson and Lana Wallace and the elderly Gregory Hellman. The drama unfolds when Lana, unexpectedly revealing her intention to marry Gregory, sends Paul into a whirlwind of anger and despair. Believing her decision to be a mistake, Paul pleads with her to reconsider, citing his deep love for her. However, Lana is resolute. The couple's discourse reveals a rift between youthful passion and the harsh realities of marriage. A short time later, Lana marries Gregory and the two begin their honeymoon at a secluded villa, lamenting the years of loneliness that have preceded this moment, particularly Gregory, who feels like a young man once more. The juxtaposition of their youthful romance against Gregory's evident desire for a simple, tranquil life serves as a contrasting backdrop for the growing tension. As weeks pass in the villa, a growing discontent begins to seep into Lana's psyche. She finds herself increasingly bored with her husband's sedentary lifestyle, which leads to an argument that spirals out of control. Gregory unexpectedly leaves for a New York trip, unknowingly sparking a series of events that culminates in tragedy. Lana seeks solace in familiar territory, finding herself face-to-face with Paul Garson once more in Mexico City. During their encounter, the weight of missed opportunities comes crashing down as both express regret and remorse for past decisions.Their reunion stirs up powerful feelings, and Lana, now estranged from Gregory, confides in Paul about her failed marriage. As their relationship rekindles, Lana's looks and vitality shine through, drawing Paul back into a state of longing. Yet, not all is as it appears; the narrative takes a dark turn when Paul's questions about Gregory lead to the discovery of a buried secret. A body found in the cellar is revealed to belong to Gregory Hellman, marking the emergence of deeper complexities involving guilt, lies, and betrayal.Paul finds himself entangled as a suspect due to his prior affection for Lana and his tumultuous feelings about Gregory. The police begin to investigate, and the revelations that follow weave a tangled web of deceit and misunderstanding, culminating in both Paul and Lana being charged with murder. The story interlaces elements of mystery, exploring themes of love, desperation, and the inexorable hand of fate. As the Whistler reveals the truth of what happened that fateful night, the audience is left grappling with the harsh realities of the intertwining lives marked by secrets and ultimately, remorse. In a parallel storyline, the episode shifts gears with a second tale, "Fear Paints a Picture," featuring a character named Julia Powell. Julia grapples with fear as she struggles against the backdrop of her family history of mental illness. She finds herself isolated in her father's old house, and her psyche starts to unravel as her fears manifest in haunting dreams tied to a peculiar painting that evokes dread. As the story unfolds, psychological themes take center stage, examining the constructs of fear and the struggle to uncover the truth behind her erratic thoughts. The narrative builds a palpable tension, leading the audience to wonder about the thin line between sanity and madness. The episode crescendos with the tension of both narrative arcs, illustrating how fear and regret are often intertwined, culminating in a resolution that leaves the characters, and the audience, with profound reflections on the nature of love, loss, and the specters of our pasts that continue to haunt us. Each character, bound by their own choices and fears, is left to confront their demons—an overarching theme that resonates deeply in this chilling tapestry of storytelling. With classic music and expertly crafted dialogue, the episode remains a compelling exploration of the human psyche, perfectly encapsulating the essence of suspense.

Know Fear | Fear God | Jonathan Moynihan
Welcome to the third episode of our emotional liberation series. In this episode, I discuss the relationship between courage and fear, exploring how these two emotions are intertwined and essential for personal growth. You can't have one without the other; both are crucial for development. Nature of Fear: Fear is a natural emotional response to a perceived threat or danger. It aims to protect us from harm by triggering the fight or flight response. Evolutionarily, fear has been vital for our survival. In modern life, fear often manifests as procrastination, indecision, and perfectionism. How to Manage and Reframe Fear: Acknowledge fear without judgment. Recognize that fear is often linked to vulnerability, the unknown, and uncertainty. Understand that fear can be very loud and overwhelming. Use fear as a tool for personal evolution, leading to courage and growth. View fear as an opportunity to be courageous. Courage: Courage involves feeling the fear and acting anyway. While fear is debilitating, courage propels us into action. Courage is the ability to face fear, pain, or adversity with bravery. It enables action despite feelings of vulnerability, exposure, or uncertainty. Courage is not an innate trait but a skill developed through practice. Demonstrating courage is inspirational. Practical Strategies for Building Courage: Take risks: Be open and embrace failure. Set goals: Start with small, courageous goals and celebrate your progress. Reflect on past experiences: Consider times when you've shown courage despite fear. Cognitive Behavioral Techniques for Embracing and Managing Fear: Strategy #1: The Fear Ladder Choose a specific fear. Clearly define it. List all related situations. Rank these situations from least to most scary. Start small and gradually progress, sharing your progress. Remember, it's not a linear process; you can move back down if needed. Strategy #2: Detailed Fear Analysis Write down what you fear and why. Assess if the fear is based on real danger or a perceived threat. Rate the likelihood of the fear materializing on a scale of 1-10. Identify the underlying emotions. Challenge the fear by examining evidence for and against it. Recall past experiences where you've overcome similar fears. Take action to face the fear, possibly using the fear ladder. THE FIRST RUNG THAT WE DILIGENTLY ADD TO OUR LIVES IS FAITH 2. THE SECOND RUNG THAT WE DILIGENTLY PURSUE IS MORAL EXCELLENCE 3. THE THIRD RUNG THAT WE DILIGENTLY GROW IN IS Knowledge 4. THE FOURTH RUNG THAT WE DILIGENTLY GROW IN IS self-control 5. THE fifth RUNG THAT WE DILIGENTLY PURSUE IS Perseverance 6. THE Sixth RUNG THAT WE DILIGENTLY GROW IN IS GODLINESS 7. THE seventh RUNG THAT WE DILIGENTLY GROW IN IS BROTHERLY KINDNESS 8. THE Eighth RUNG THAT WE DILIGENTLY GROW IN IS LOVE Eros- Love found in romantic relationships. Connected to falling or being in love. Storge- Love between family members. A protective love that can withstand hardships & trials PhilEO-Love between close friends. Describes the emotional feeling of a close friend. When David had finished speaking with Saul, Jonathan was bound to David in close friendship, and loved him as much as he loved himself. 1 Samuel 18:1 CSB Agape - Love that is unconditional and sacrificial. The love that God is and shows. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1 John 4:8 NIV God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 1 John 4:16 NIV “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 ESV If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn't love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God's secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn't love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn't love others, I would have gained nothing. Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture! But when the time of perfection comes, these partial things will become useless. When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity.[c] All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely. Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 If you love [agape] me, you will keep my commandments. John 14:15 WHAT HINDERS US FROM LOVE? 1. LABELS Once you label me, you negate me. Soren Kierkegaard. Definitions belong to the definers- not the defined. Toni Morrison 2. FEAR Fear stifles the effects of love, this idea its us versus them, agreement or approval. True love challenges this fear, digs deep to uncover its roots, and replace it with an expansive and fearless love. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:17-19 Outrage is a double edged sword that initially feels gratifying but gradually corrodes one's being. Outrage is like a lot of other things that feel good but over times devour us from the inside out. Tim Kreider You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you, love[Agape] your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. Matthew 5:43-45 3. FALSE TRUTH What hinders the love of God from us to others is when we compromise his Truth with our experiential truths and values. It produces confusion in hearts and minds. WHAT HELPS US TO LOVE? LISTENING Listening is an expression of love. Reflecting our willingness to care, understand, and value others. So much of what we think we know about one another could be radically changed by a willingness to simply listen. 2. PRESENCE We can't love someone without Connection and that requires us to be PRESENT Truth without love is brutality, and love without truth is hypocrisy - Warren Wiersbe “Technoference” - use of technological devices that interferes with or interrupts everyday normal family relations and interactions Withness - being with people in all their complexities and contradictions. The word became flesh and blood moving into our neighborhood. John 1:14 MSG For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised. 2 Cor 5:14-15 ESV 3. ACTION LOVE=CHARITY=ACTION SHARING WITH OTHERS OUR TIME, TALENTS, TREASURE, AND TESTIMONY IS THE BEGINNING OF PUTTING LOVE IN ACTION There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends. John 15:13 NLT Selfless love transcends the boundaries of conditional affection and defies the notion that love is a quid-pro-quo exchange. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. 1 John 4:9-16 NIV

This is the third of three posts leading up to June 2 Worldwide Prodigal Prayer Day. Our theme this year is Fear Not. Some time ago, in the midst of some hopeful signs in a long-ongoing situation, that fear returned. With force. Irrationally. Because when I hoped, when things looked like they were changing for the better, but then maybe they weren't, I became afraid to hope. "I believe in the Jedi Order. Fear leads to suffering, suffering leads to hate, anger. Anger leads to hate." - John Wolpert (referencing Yoda) ------------------------------------------------------------------- In a recent episode of "Joseph Jaffe is not Famous," I had the pleasure of conversing with John Wolpert, a pioneer in technological breakthroughs and the author of "The Two But Rule: Turn Negative Thinking Into Positive Solutions." Our dialogue traversed the landscape of innovation, psychological safety, and the transformative power of negativity when constructively harnessed. Reflections and Takeaways Cultivating a Constructive Culture: By fostering an environment where every negative is met with a possible positive, we build resilience and creativity within our teams. Recognizing the Role of Fear: Fear can be a catalyst for caution and precision, provided it's balanced with an equal measure of bravery and action. Appreciating the Full Spectrum of Emotion: A culture that acknowledges challenges and emotions without sugarcoating them is one that's primed for genuine progress. Harnessing AI for Innovation: The intelligent application of AI can augment human creativity and lead to solutions that may have otherwise remained obscured. Valuing Critical Voices: Those who challenge ideas are not just naysayers; they are invaluable members of the team who can drive us to consider new angles and alternatives. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Here are the show notes: Toxic positivity and its opposite, nourishing negativity. (0:03) AI, automation, and human control. (9:56) AI ownership and governance. (15:15) Using "but" to challenge and find solutions. (20:34) Workplace culture, psychological safety, and fearlessness. In today's conversation, we are joined by Mitchell Greene, a licensed clinical and sport psychologist, and owner of Greenepsych Clinical & Sport Psychology, a boutique private practice located in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Dr. Greene works primarily with athletes pursuing high performance goals, or coaches and athletic departments looking to educate their student-athletes on mental health and/or performance enhancement strategies.Mitchell joined us today to talk about his book, ‘Courage over Confidence: Managing Mind Chatter and Winning the Mental Game.'Mind chatter is when we have conversations with ourselves that are full of doubt, second-guessing, and negative thinking. It typically shows up when the uncertainty and the stakes feel enormous. For athletes, it can occur in a big tournament. The first step in recovering from mind chatter is to expect it to show up. Understanding the context in which it shows up is important because that means you're aware it's completely normal and you can control it.Get ready to explore the concept of "chatter" and how to handle it, as Mitchell shares insights from their book and provides practical tips for athletes, coaches, and anyone facing high-stakes situations. [05.40] Mind chatter – Mind chatter is the negative, doubtful thinking or conversations we have with ourselves. [13.14] Fear - Fear may have been the way you presented yourself to the world when you were a child, but it doesn't have to define who you are now.[20.02] Falling behind – Mitchell explains why the obsession with doing everything for the fear of falling behind is unhealthy. [25.22] Social media – The impact social media has on athletes, in Mitchell's opinion. [34.33] Thoughts – We are constantly having positive and negative thoughts about us. But we have to remember that we are so much bigger than those thoughts.[40.01] Monkey mind – We talk about the importance of learning to deal with the feeling of lacking control of one's thoughts.[44.04] Results and action – Mitchell explains the difference between a results-oriented goal and an action goal. [48.50] Courage over confidence - One's ability to exhibit courage may be compromised when confronted with feelings of doubt and fear, which create favorable conditions for the manifestation of acts of bravery.ResourcesConnect with MitchellLinkedIn - linkedin.com/in/mitchell-greene-ph-d-8571aa14/ Instagram - instagram.com/greenepsych/ Twitter - twitter.com/sportpsych Website - greenepsych.com/about/ Book by Mitchell GreeneCourage over Confidence: Managing Mind Chatter and Winning the Mental Gameamazon.com/Courage-over-Confidence-Managing-Chatter/dp/B0BYC2NQVT Book by W. Hello everyone, I'm Matthew Adams, and today we're venturing into the heart of a profound biblical truth. It's a journey that takes us back to the trembling feet of Mount Sinai, where the Israelites stood awestruck and terrified in the presence of God's voice.Scripture:"[The tribal leaders and elders of Israel said,] 'If the LORD our God speaks to us again, we will certainly die and be consumed by this awesome fire. Can any living thing hear the voice of the living God from the heart of the fire as we did and yet survive?'" - Deuteronomy 5:25-26The fear of God's voice is as old as the hills, a primal response to the overwhelming power and majesty of the Divine. But throughout history, those who dared to listen, who faced the fire instead of fleeing, found something beyond the terror – a life-giving, transformative encounter with the Almighty. We make The Power Of God's Whisper Podcast and this newsletter free for everyone to strengthen Christians everywhere. To support our work and help keep the lights on, consider a paid subscription if you are in a position to.Driving Points:* The Paradox of God's Voice:God's voice, as terrifying as it can be in its power and purity, is not a death sentence. It's a call to life. Moses, Joshua, Daniel, John – they all experienced the overwhelming presence of God, yet it was this very encounter that empowered and enlivened them. The voice that shakes the mountains can also whisper in the gentlest of breezes, inviting us into a deeper communion.* The Masks of Fear:Fear of hearing God's voice wears many disguises. It can look like indifference, doctrinal rigidity, or anxiety about what He might say. But the invitation remains open – to approach His throne of grace with boldness, to seek His voice amidst our fears. It's not about the absence of fear but the presence of faith.* The Reward of Persistence:In the Kingdom of God, spiritual hunger is always satisfied. Those who seek, find; those who ask, receive; those who knock, find the door swinging wide open. Hearing God's voice is not just for the spiritual elite – it's for anyone bold enough to listen, to press through the trembling and the awe, and to seek His face. Conclusion:The journey of hearing God's voice is a journey of courage. It's about stepping into the fire, not to be consumed, but to be refined, to be fed, to be truly alive. His voice is a beacon that guides us through the wilderness of our lives, a source of strength and sustenance for the path ahead.Call to Action:So, let's take up the challenge. Let's approach the throne of grace with boldness, undeterred by fear or doubt. Let's seek His voice with the assurance that He is more than willing to speak to those who are willing to listen.Prayer:Lord, grant us the courage to seek Your voice amidst our fears. Help us to see beyond the fire and the thunder, to the loving, guiding presence that calls us to a deeper communion with You. May our hearts be open, our spirits willing, and our ears attuned to Your life-giving words. Amen. This is Matthew Adams, signing off with a reminder that the voice of God is not something to flee from but to seek after. It's in the heart of the fire that we find the heart of God. Until next time, keep listening, keep seeking, and keep walking in the courage that comes from hearing His voice. Get full access to My Reasons To Believe at myr2b.substack.com/subscribe
What Is Poor Focus?Poor focus isn't about zoning out; it's about being stuck in the wrong kind of thoughts. It occurs when you can't control your attention during practices and games. Your focus, or lack thereof, is driven by your thoughts, and it's these thoughts that determine your focus. For example, dwelling on past mistakes can hijack your focus, pulling you away from the present. Poor focus, in essence, is poor control over your own thinking. And this leads to unhelpful and sometimes even detrimental feelings and emotional states.Main Ways Poor Focus Holds You Back1.) Anxiety: If you're preoccupied with what might happen in the future, you're inviting anxiety into your game. Anxiety in sports revolves around worrying about the outcome, and this can only lead to further worry.Playing with anxiety results in stiffness, tension, and suboptimal performance. It might even push you into a corner where you're desperately trying to will a certain outcome.2.) Fear: Fear, stemming from thoughts about past or future mistakes, can cripple your performance. This fear often combines with anxiety, creating a vicious cycle of worrying about future mistakes, which leads to making those very mistakes.Playing with fear also results in tentative, restrained play, as you become cautious due to the perceived risks.3.) Distractions: Poor focus can make you susceptible to distractions from the environment – the opposing team, the crowd, field conditions, personal life, and more. These distractions can lead to careless mistakes and lower your overall performance. For instance, imagine a basketball player at the free-throw line – crowd noise can significantly affect their focus. If they can tune out the distractions and focus on the basket and their shot, their chances of success increase.Similarly, a softball pitcher might get distracted by the rain, leading to wild pitches and a drop in performance.#Focus #AthleticPerformance #MentalToughness #SportsPsychology #PeakPerformance #YourChannelName Support the showInterested in 1-1 mental performance coaching? Joel Wood | August 6 2023 How does fearing God overcome the fear we all tend to have when it comes to suffering and dying? We know that we will suffer at times in this life and that we will all die. But the fear of these things happening in the future can keep us paralyzed in the present. A proper fear of God frees us from fearing what may lie in the future for us. We don't need to fear suffering and death because we have the presence of God with us and the promise of God to anchor us no matter what happens in our lives. We can know that God will bring good from our suffering and that death will only serve to make us better.
Kyle Kauffman | August 13 2023 How does fearing God overcome our fear of failing at something in this life? We are often terrified to step out and try something new or to step up and lead something because we are scared of failing and not living up to expectations. We are often scared to let either ourselves or others down. Deep down many people tend to feel inadequate, insufficient, and unqualified. We believe that God can do anything, but we are not so sure he can do anything through us. But a proper understanding of who God is and how he works can enable us to take risks with our lives. Because we know that what's most important is not our success or failure. We know that the results ultimately lie in God's hands. And we are confident that he will use even (especially) our failures for good.
