Key Moments & Takeaways:1.Why Artists Procrastinate:•Overwhelm by Too Many Ideas:Artists often face decision paralysis due to the abundance of ideas and inspiration. It can be hard to know where to begin.•Perfectionism and Fear of Failure:Fear of not achieving perfection can lead to procrastination. Artists delay starting because they worry their work won't be good enough.•Distractions from Technology & Social Media:Constant notifications and distractions from social media make it hard to stay focused, leading to wasted time and reduced productivity.2.Simplicity is the Key to Overcoming Procrastination:•Break Down Big Projects into Smaller Tasks:Instead of tackling a huge project all at once, break it down into manageable steps like a quick sketch or color selection.•Use Limited Tools & Mediums:Reduce the complexity by limiting yourself to specific tools or mediums. This narrows your choices and increases productivity.•Set Simple, Clear Goals:Avoid vague goals like “paint more.” Set specific and manageable targets like “sketch for 15 minutes” or “complete one piece this week.”3.Practical Tips to Stay Focused:•2-Minute Rule:If a task takes less than two minutes, do it immediately to build momentum.•Time-Blocking Sessions:Use the Pomodoro Technique (25 minutes of work followed by a short break) to maintain focus without burning out.•Limit Your Choices for the Day:Focus on one task or project each day to avoid decision fatigue and paralysis.•Celebrate Small Wins:Reward yourself for even the smallest progress, as these little victories add up over time.4.How Simplifying Unleashes Creativity:•Less Stress, More Freedom:By reducing choices and focusing on key tasks, artists can experiment and explore more freely within their structured approach.•Flow State:A simplified process helps you enter the “flow state,” where you are completely absorbed in your work, leading to more productive and satisfying sessions.•Consistency Over Perfection:Showing up regularly to create, even in small steps, will improve your work over time. Consistency is more important than aiming for perfection.5.Wrap-Up and Takeaways:•Keep It Simple:Simplicity means focusing on what's important, not doing less. Declutter your mind, tools, and goals to make it easier to take action.•Action Step for Artists:Take one small step today to simplify your creative process. It could be setting a timer for 15 minutes or limiting your tools for the next project.By focusing on simplifying your workflow and reducing the overwhelming number of choices and tasks, artists can break free from procrastination and stay productive. The key is consistency, clear goals, and removing unnecessary distractions.ABOUT THE PODCASTCreated by artists for artists, illustrators, creatives, and aspiring designers and art lovers. It is a weekly podcast by Ping He. Here are the top five ways to identify when creative blocks are hindering progress:Lack of Inspiration: When you find yourself devoid of ideas or struggling to generate new concepts, it may indicate a creative block. This lack of inspiration can stifle progress and leave you feeling stuck in a rut, making it difficult to move forward with your goals.Fear of Failure: Fear can paralyze creativity, causing you to second-guess your ideas and hesitate to take risks. When the fear of failure outweighs the desire to create, it can prevent you from pursuing your goals with confidence and conviction.Perfectionism: Striving for perfection can be a double-edged sword. While it may drive you to produce high-quality work, it can also lead to self-criticism and an unwillingness to accept anything less than perfection. This perfectionist mindset can inhibit creativity and impede progress toward your goals.Procrastination: Support the Podcast: https://www.buzzsprout.com/1590358/support Closing of ReThinkBuzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched! Setting specific goals and creating a plan can help overcome this challenge. 2.     Fear of Failure: Fear of failure can hold individuals back from taking risks and pursuing their ambitions. It is important to embrace failure as a learning opportunity and to develop resilience to overcome setbacks. 3.     Procrastination and Lack of Discipline: Procrastination and a lack of discipline can hinder progress and prevent individuals from achieving their goals. Developing good habits, managing time effectively, and staying motivated can help overcome these obstacles. 4.     Limited Self-Belief and Self-Confidence: Negative self-beliefs and low self-confidence can undermine success. Failure is a necessary part of success and should be embraced. The fear of failure holds many people back from setting goals and taking action. The Fear of Failure: Fear of looking incompetent, like a failure, or of one's own limitations. Fear of failure can also be a fear of success and the expectations that come with it. Understanding the reasons for the fear of failure is the first step to overcoming it. Identifying Your Fear of Failure: Lack of motivation, indecisiveness, and resistance to taking action can indicate a fear of failure. Recognizing these patterns can help identify the fear and work towards overcoming it. A Healthy View of Failure: Viewing failure as a positive learning experience can help dissipate the fear of it. Failing quickly, not identifying with failure, and seeing failure as accurate feedback are key strategies. Failure should be seen as part of a game where you keep trying until you succeed. Learning to Accept Failure: Failure is a great teacher and should be accepted as part of the journey to success. Keeping a failure journal, identifying patterns, and learning from mistakes are important steps. Recognizing the value of failure and its potential for growth can change one's perspective. Developing a Fearless Mindset: A fearless mindset is essential for overcoming the fear of failure. Optimism, exposure to motivational material, and becoming comfortable with discomfort are key factors. Changing one's mindset and evaluating risk differently can lead to greater success. Famous Failures: Many successful people have experienced significant failures before achieving success. Abraham Lincoln, J.K. Rowling, and Sylvester Stallone are examples of famous figures who faced failures and achieved great success. Reading about the struggles of successful individuals can provide inspiration and motivation. Minimizing the Likelihood of Failure: Perseverance, focus, a positive attitude, flexibility, and sufficient effort can minimize the likelihood of failure. Avoiding success pitfalls can save time and energy, increasing the chances of achieving goals. Conclusion: Failure is beneficial and necessary for success. Overcoming the fear of failure is crucial for achieving goals. Embracing failure and its lessons can lead to success sooner than expected.

Pray & Work Nehemiah 1:11  //  Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by granting him favor in the presence of this man.” I was cupbearer to the king. Nehemiah 2:1-6  //  In the month of Nisan in the twentieth year of King Artaxerxes, when wine was brought for him, I took the wine and gave it to the king. I had not been sad in his presence before, 2 so the king asked me, “Why does your face look so sad when you are not ill? This can be nothing but sadness of heart.” I was very much afraid, but I said to the king, “May the king live forever! Why should my face not look sad when the city where my ancestors are buried lies in ruins, and its gates have been destroyed by fire?” The king said to me, “What is it you want?” Then I prayed to the God of heaven, 5 and I answered the king, “If it pleases the king and if your servant has found favor in his sight, let him send me to the city in Judah where my ancestors are buried so that I can rebuild it.” Then the king, with the queen sitting beside him, asked me, “How long will your journey take, and when will you get back?” It pleased the king to send me; so I set a time. Dream Pray Do God, break my heart for what breaks Yours.

Many people who have bariatric surgery carry a fear of failure into the procedure with them. This fear of failure may be readily acknowledged or could be a subconscious thought lingering from past experiences with weight regain.  Here's a truth if ever there was a truth: human beings are not failures so if you've ever said, “I'm such a failure,” please reconsider! A human being may have setbacks or make mistakes in life. Setbacks and mistakes are events surrounding situations. Human beings are incredibly resilient, miraculous beings! As such, we can reframe what we label as a “failure” into ways to learn and grow! Sure… it makes sense, if you've experienced weight regain following previous times when you've lost weight that there would be some fear of regain… Regain does NOT equal failure! Listen in and learn more about how to avoid thinking of yourself or weight regain as a failure! And learn to set yourself up to continue putting forth effort even when you experience a setback! Please subscribe to the show and rate it on Apple Podcasts, download free information at www.conniestapletonphd.com, and follow me on Twitter (@cstapletonphd), Instagram (@cstapletonphd), YouTube, LinkedIn, and on Facebook.

We all have fears, don’t we? Well, what if I told you that your own fears may be exactly what is holding you back from seeing the results you’re wanting? It seems a LOT of my clients have been self sabotaging their progress for YEARS!! It’s hard to see it on a surface level BUT once we dive into things we realize what fears have them stuck and we work through them one at a time.    Burying your fears or dismissing them as silly could sabotage your plans to get healthier.  The first step: Identifying what could be holding you back.  Here are the most common reasons people are afraid to lose weight:  Fear of the Unknown Fear of Relationships Changing Fear of Unwanted Attention Fear of Failure Fear of Giving up What’s Comfortable Fear of Embarrassment   How does one overcome these fears?  Start Small Talk through the fears with someone who understands and can help you Plan Long Term You may not think any of these apply to you BUT if you have been struggling with seeing sustainable results when it comes to your health and wellness goals, you may just want to sit down and listen to me elaborate on this.    Conquering your fears may seem like a silly task, but by figuring out the root causes and working with the right strategies, can move closer to your goal of losing weight and getting healthy...without all the struggles!!

I owe them big-time.Here are three key takeaways from our fear of failure and fear of success discussions.Fear of failure and fear of success are two sides of the same coin. Both fears are rooted in self-sabotage.Although the fear of failure is common and more people identify with it, the bigger issue may be fear of success.Impostor syndrome is real. We need to explore this further in future episodes and see how it connects to fear. And there was one more takeaway from our experts that I found vitally important, but that didn't fit in the main episodes. Both Ayrin Hnosko, a licensed clinical social worker, and Joe Van Hannak, a licensed professional therapist brought up the topic – trauma.Trauma is difficult. I'm not equipped to help. I am merely facilitating a story. I need to tread lightly here and because it is tough, I shied away. I will find a way to balance this because I know some stories that need to get told and they are rooted in trauma.Thank you for listening to The No Fear Project! Selling is honorable, and we should be proud of the work we do because nothing happens until somebody sells something. Today Harry Mazier talks to us about the importance of selling and how every organization must practice the fundamentals of selling in order to do it well.  It begins by understanding the importance of being a sales professional. Relationships The short attention span of today's buyers means that there will always be room for relationships in selling. [Tweet "There's an adage that says that when all things are equal, people want to buy from their friends. And when all things aren't equal, people still want to buy from their friends. So make friends. #RelationshipSelling"] It's perhaps the best sales lesson you'll ever hear. Necessity It sounds basic to say that nothing happens until someone sells something, but it's true that if we don't sell, we won't eat. Sales is the lubricant of our economy. It doesn't matter how good your manufacturing is, how precise your accounting is, how deep your R&D is, everything begins when someone convinces a prospect to say, "Yes, I'll take some." When the deal closes, the gears begin moving and everything takes off from that point of agreement. Failure Fear of failure prevents people from selling. You might drive past a prospect's business 12 times and always find a reason not to stop: no parking places, it's too early, or it's too late. To get past that reluctance, you must suck it up and knock on the doors. Then, once you get in front of that customer, you must know what you're talking about. Emerson said that nothing great was ever accomplished without enthusiasm. You must be enthusiastic and excited. If you're not excited about what you're doing, do something else. Be smart. Don't tell them how much you know. Tell them how much they need to know to get where you want them to get. Selling is convincing someone else to agree with your opinion. But don't overstay your welcome by speaking too much. There's a story that Samson slew 1,000 Philistines with the jawbone of an ass, but twice that many sales are killed every day with the same implement. Resource Your role is to provide the necessary information and be convincing. The best salespeople don't sell, they help people buy. Selling is instructional and informational. Be a friend and a resource to your customer. Sales is an honorable profession that has taken a lot of hits -- many of them self-inflicted. Salespeople are a resource to our economy and they really are helpful to customers. People choose sales for a variety of reasons like interactions with people and independence. Of course, income opportunities are part of it as well. Negative view For a long time, sales was perceived as little more than one person taking unfair advantage of another. Salespeople have lived through that era and have established themselves as a resource rather than an impediment. Avoid being self-deprecating. Don't refer to yourself as "just a salesman." Sell with integrity every day so you can improve and help your customers. Don't put artificial limits on your own success or settle for good enough instead of good. Stories Relevant stories can help sellers sell. Rudyard Kipling said that if history was taught in the form of stories, it would never be forgotten. People love stories, so rather than giving facts, features, and benefits, incorporate a story into your sales presentation. Do it consistently and do it as well as you can. Read and listen and stay attuned to the people around you. Harry recorded countless anecdotes in preparation for writing his book, Story Selling: Sage Advice and Common Sense About Sales and Success. If you don't use a story to provide proof, selling will be more difficult. But the story won't stand on its own. You must give your very best effort. Stories aren't the answer alone. You must support it with your work and effort. Do the best you can every day. Remember the 10 powerful 2-letter words: "If it is to be, it is up to me." You can find excuses and blame, but ultimately it depends on you. Sellers Don't think you're not in sales. Everyone is in sales from the moment they get out of bed in the morning. You are persuading or influences, negotiating or communicating. Don't run from it. Embrace it and learn to be better. Grow by failing. It's not how often you get knocked down; it's how many times you get back up. Get back up and learn what's effective and learn to communicate. Be true to yourself and embrace the opportunities you have as a salesperson. "Selling From The Heart" episode resources You can connect with Harry at harrymazier@gmail.com or at (404) 853-1063. Wassssup???? In this episode I get very truthful and real about the fear I'm experiencing as I start to bring in the very opportunities that will get me from where I am to where I want to be. It's the imposter syndrome, the fear, the worry about what others think about me, etc--you know all that F.E.A.R. (false evidence appearing real)that the subconscious mind starts pumping out to keep things safe, to keep things as they are and to keep me (and you) playing small. As things in my world start to get more and more refined and even more niche, I am finding that there so many people in my real estate industry are responding extremely positively to the work I'm offering, related to energy, attracting abundance and forming a wealth mindset. So much so, that more opportunities are coming my way--I am opening up everyday to more and more abundance and holy crap it's getting a little scary. Definitely good scary but know that as you start to manifest the people, things and opportunities (that will get you everything you ever wanted), a new level of fears will surface. These are the next level fears that you must break through in order to keep moving toward your dreams. Feel the fear but do it anyway as they say. Good luck this week guys. “Ninety-nine percent of the failures come from people who have the habit of making excuses.” George Washington Carver [embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01VG9oPn56w[/embedyt] One habit you are going to want to break free from is the habit of making excuses. Excuses are the long litany of reasons or rationale as to why you did not take action or do what you said you were going to do. Excuses defend your behaviours. When you fall on excuses, you are avoiding taking ownership of your life and responsibility for the outcomes and results that you want to get. It always seems to be someone else's fault why they are not getting the success that they want. They play the victim. They often claim that their situation is different and no one understands what they are going through. Excuses are a way of avoiding reality and looking in the mirror. Does this sound like you? If you catch yourself making excuses, STOP right there. Do you want different results? Yes! You need to take 100% responsibility for your results. No excuses allowed. You will find a way to figure it out. If you need to ask for help, you will ASK! The excuses you are making tend to be due to FEAR! Yes, that's right. FEAR and there is a pay off for not taking action. Some of the most common fears are: Fear of Success Fear of Failure Fear of Rejection Fear of Uncertainty Fear of Responsibility Fear of Change Your fears hold you back from what you really want. If you allow your fears to hold you hostage, you cannot experience success. Your passion for what you want needs to be greater than you fear to step into your potential. When your fear is greater than your passion, you will make bad judgments, lack the self confidence to take responsibility to take charge of your life and may even live with regrets. Start by taking a look at the excuses you have been making. What are they? Not sure, listen to these excuse starters… “I don't have enough time…” “I do not have enough education OR I am not smart enough.” “It's not the right time.” “I don't feel like it…OR I am not inspired to do it.” ”I do not know how to get started… OR how to do it” “I am too old or too young.” “I do not have the money.” Challenge your excuses! Are you making excuses or do you have a REAL reason for something not turning out as you wished? We all have the same amount of time in a day; it all depends on how you allocate the time you have available. You can learn new information by researching and reading, watching YouTube Videos, taking a course, and asking others who already know how to do what you want to do. Where do you prioritize your money? There is a tendency to focus your money where you feel is most important. Can you find a way to change the priorities assigned to your money? When you feel its not the right time, you will note that there is a lack of resources, information, or confidence in your abilities. When age is the excuse, it is due to a lack of confidence. Whether you feel like it or not, you need to do it, Otherwise, you will always have a reason for not getting the results you want. Focus on the here and now! What is in your control? You cannot change the past. Stop comparing your situation to others. Don't worry about what others are doing. Everyone is on their own journey and has different passions. Avoid comparing your situation or circumstance with others. Focus on the solutions and opportunities in front of you and coming your way. Look at your situation from different perspectives before making a decision. Tap into your strengths. You are more talented and capable than you give yourself credit for. You will find a way! No excuses allowed! Excuses do not allow you to move ahead or grow in the process. “If you have passion, there is no need for excuses because your enthusiasm will trump any negative reasoning you might come up with.
