we are happy to welcome back friend of the show and man about time James Balsamo to talk about one of his new films Karate Ghost 2 Dojo of Death! James Balsamo is a jack-of-all-trades; a songwriter, an actor, a sculptor, but most importantly, a filmmaker extraordinaire. From the time he was just a lad, and like so many others, James became fascinated with the Horror genre, attending his first Horror convention at the age of 8. As a youngster, James knew what he wanted to do when "he grew up" - follow in the footsteps of his star slasher icons, Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees. Fueled by his ambitions, James convinced his parents to enroll him in Acting School. As a student in many prestigious New York acting schools, including Lee Strasberg, James' passion for film and acting continued to grow. A New Yorker all his life, Balsamo continued his professional career at Professional Performing Arts High School in New York City. James grew tired of theatrical acting after high school, and knew it was time to make the transition to the big screen. He left his Shakespearean tights at the door, and spilled big screen blood all the way through Five Towns College. Balsamo appears on both sides of the camera in many of his works, including his most recent project, Hack Job. Hack Job, with a budget under $60,000 has made its international debut, is selling worldwide, as well as exciting mentions during the NYC Tour of music icons GWAR and Ghoul. For now, James continues the "I Spill Your Guts" push, as he prepares for his newest project "Cool As Hell". With New York Theatre Barn, Joe produced the new musical Sam's Room, inspired by real stories of nonverbal teens who find a way to communicate. Héctor Flores Jr. is a multi-hyphenate Latino theatre professional whose work meets at the intersection of art and advocacy. Héctor was born in New Jersey and raised by his Puerto Rican grandmother and his single mom. Luckily his mother believes in cultural enrichment & education which instilled a hunger for knowledge, art and change within him. The artform that chose him, however, wasn't made in his image. After being a first-generation college graduate Flores embarked on a career in musical theatre that continues to inspire him to find new ways to break barriers for Latinx people.  Hector is the president of Theatre Barn Records. Theatre Barn Records is a new imprint of Broadway Records and is dedicated to original musicals in development. New York Theatre Barn, which has served as a home for new culture shifting musicals during incubation since 2007, has been evolving its unique development-based programming since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a new program of New York Theatre Barn, Theatre Barn Records will support writers in recording and releasing concept recordings of new musicals in development on global streaming platforms. Theatre Barn Records offers a worldwide marketing platform for musical theatre writers and has the potential to create revenue for writers while their show is still in development. The focus of Theatre Barn Records is to continue to incubate and elevate projects that we are already developing while evolving our storytelling systems. In this critical digital age that we now live in, EP's and concept albums of original musicals in development are potentially the fastest and most lucrative ways that musical theatre writers can now be noticed, supported, and advanced while their shows are in development.

Join my conversation with JOSH X. The singer/songwriter has worked with Cardi B, Rick Ross among others. He attended the prestigious summer program at The Juilliard School. We discuss his upbringing, his latest singles "I Miss You" and "Creole Love Part 2", meeting his idols Brian McKnight and Stevie Wonder, and his upcoming podcast and cooking show in 2021. Raised in Queens, the singer/songwriter/producer (born Josh Xantus) initially honed his musical chops as a classical pianist at the age of 6. “My mom being originally from Haiti, the thing she loved the most was classical music. My first influences were Mozart, Chopin, Bach, Beethoven,” he says. Although he’s trained in the Western canon, when he got around to listening to r&b, he fell in love with Brian McKnight. “He was a piano player and a singer. I wanted to learn his songs so I could do it too.”Josh studied at the prestigious summer program at The Juilliard School and graduated from Five Towns College. Realizing that classical music just wasn’t in his heart, nor getting him attention from the ladies, he decided to pivot. “By college, I knew I wanted to be a R&B singer,” he laughs. In college, the wunderkind began to sneak away to late-night studio sessions, eventually meeting rapper Jadakiss. It just felt right. “I knew this is what I was supposed to do. I started doing a lot of open mics and putting my face out there. The dots started connecting.” By 2008, he was making the rounds as an independent artist (under the moniker Josh Xantus) and released “All For Love” (featuring Jadakiss). His network grew, working with notables like Swizz Beatz (co-writing “Ready to Go” for FOX’s hit show Empire), Jerry “Wonder” Duplessis and Bryan “Birdman” Williams from Cash Money Records. 2009’s “First Time” even caught the ear of Stevie Wonder and led to a once-in-a-lifetime encounter with the legend. “I’ll never forget that song. He took interest in me. That song opened up a lot of doors,” says Josh. One of those doors was linking with Shaft of The KSR Group, a NYC-based record label that was working with then-fledgling artist Cardi B. Josh was tasked with writing and producing for Cardi beginning in 2015. “I saw the vision. I was the first person to produce Cardi. The two collaborated on her single “Selfish” as well as his “Heaven On My Mind” in 2016. After working tirelessly behind-the-scenes for three years to help shape Cardi’s astronomical rise, Josh X is ready to emerge as a star in his own right.Dropping “Xantus” from this stage name, Josh X is ready for this new chapter in his life. He signed with Epic Records in early 2018 and released his first single, “All On Me (featuring Rick Ross).” The song is an ode to triumph and perseverance; something Josh knows all about. “Man, so I’m in Miami. I’m cutting the record—not on pen—all in the booth. I heard the beat and the track has over 60 brass instruments alone!” he says. Immediately he was hooked. “It just came out of me.” The song serves as a fitting introduction for a career a long time in the making. “At that moment, I wanted to show everyone who has been patient waiting for me the man that I’m going to be. This moment is how we’re going to celebrate life. It’s about elevation. It’s about achieving the goals you set for yourself.”In 2019, Josh released his “Piano Confessions” EP to rave reviews followed by the success of his latest single, “I Miss You”. The single topped the Billboard R&B UAC Charts at #20. All in preparation to the upcoming release of “The X Project“. “A blend of that new age R&B with bits of trap-vibes sprinkled throughout, while giving my fans the traditional Josh X sound with records as “One Last Time”. Musically and symbolically, it’s a full-circle for Josh. “I’ve been patient. It’s my time to shine.” CONNECT WITH JOSH X:Website: www.JoshXantus.com Instagram: @JoshXantusTwitter: @JoshXantusFacebook: /JoshXOfficial For more information and news, check out our website at BringBackSoulMusic.com.Support our channel by purchasing merch @ shop.bringbacksoulmusic.comCOPYRIGHT © 2020 Bring Back Soul Music.

Presenting: “Vincent Bohanan & The Sound of Victory Fellowship Choir” Young minorities who have experienced poverty stricken circumstances or who feel alienated and rejected by society are turning their lives around and evangelizing to all who will lend an open heart, thanks to the music ministry of “Vincent Bohanan and The Sound of Victory Fellowship Choir.” This choir allows 60+ young singers and musicians, predominantly in their twenties, commuting from across the New York City Metropolitan area, to join their voices in the heart of Brooklyn every week. Through their Gospel music, Bohanan and the singers offer a message of hope throughout the city and abroad. The choir presented their first year anniversary concert on January 16, 2015 on the Upper West Side of Manhattan to a packed audience which included the likings of gospel music greats Grammy Award winning artist Bishop Hezekiah Walker, Stellar Award winning artist Dr. Ricky Dillard and Choirmaster Bishop J.C. White. Visionary Vincent Bohanan, 25, founded The Sound of Victory Fellowship Choir just two years ago. Bohanan, who nurtured his musical virtuosity as a young child, was fortunate to have been mentored and has developed his credentials into a list of accomplishments with esteemed musical groups. Bohanan, who holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Business & Audio from Five Towns College, has had the opportunities to work with the Institutional Radio Choir and alongside Vy Higginsen and the Mama Foundation, a highly respected performing arts foundation located in Harlem. He is now branching out and sharing his musical affluence in a fresh, innovative and original way with the birth of The Sound of Victory Fellowship Choir, also known as “SOV.” Bohanan writes and composes all of the choir’s music. SOV was established to help overcome the negative image associated with today’s generation of young adults and to provide them with the platform and outlet to freely develop and express their musical talents in a positive way. The SOV singers come from various demographics and backgrounds. For some, membership in this choir provides the only sense of family and belonging that they have ever experienced. As some of the singers don’t even have a spiritual home, SOV provides their only experience of church right now. The choir has enabled them to join together in a Gospel-rooted, nurturing and musical environment to inspire and empower all people through song. Outreach and compassion are also at the core of SOV’s ministry. Indeed, the ensemble’s first community service event in June of 2014 was in line with the Gospel of Matthew 25:36 “I was naked and you clothed me.” SOV distributed free clothes and shoes; and of course they ministered through song with a free concert on the streets of Brooklyn. Highlights from the choir’s first two years in ministry consist of recording with Grammy Award winning gospel artist Cece Winans, backing up P.Diddy for a Biggie Smalls tribute during the 2015 NBA All-Star Weekend and being a featured choir for Bishop Hezekiah Walker’s annual Resurrection Sunday Concert. As an independent recording artist, the choir astonished the music world with the release of their second single “He Reigns,” which debuted on the Billboard Gospel Digital Downloads chart at #4. After drawing over 1,000 people to Bridgeport, Connecticut in January of 2016 to witness the live recording of their first album “One Sound,” SOV anticipates touring this spring to promote the release. The choir looks forward to fulfilling their ever growing demand for appearance from organizations all over the country throughout the year of 2016 and completing their first request for appearance outside of the country in Montreal, Canada this spring.

THE GYPSY POET TALKS TO JAMES BALSAMO! - IMDb Mini Biography By: Acid Bath Productions
