Capítulo 66: On this episode of Ocu-Pasión, we have the pleasure of sitting down with Arthur Bryan Marroquin, the creative force behind ABM Photography. Arthur's journey into the world of photography is nothing short of fascinating, as it began with him in front of the camera as a model and actor at Missy's Modeling Studio in the picturesque Rio Grande Valley, deep in the heart of Texas.During his time in front of the camera, Arthur discovered a deep passion for the artistry behind the lens. He realized that he enjoyed not only being a subject but also creating his own art through photography. In 2006, Arthur made the pivotal decision to invest in his first professional camera, and from that moment on, he embarked on a journey of continuous learning and growth in the world of photography. Along the way, he had the privilege of learning from industry luminaries such as the late Kathy Whittaker and the world-renowned Mike Ruiz. As Arthur aptly puts it, "A photographer is never done learning."One of the standout aspects of Arthur's photography career is his unique perspective as a working actor himself. His dual expertise allows him to bridge the gap between a client's needs and the artistic vision of a headshot session. By combining his knowledge of the acting industry with his expertise in the art of the headshot, Arthur creates headshot packages that are not just stunning but also highly marketable.Among his many experiences, one of Arthur's most cherished assignments was accompanying and photographing DeafWest's Broadway Production of Spring Awakening: The Musical at The White House in 2015. This momentous event reflects the diversity and impact of his work in the entertainment industry.Arthur's passion for photography is palpable, and whether you're a seasoned professional or someone considering your first headshot session, he welcomes you to join him in creating photographic magic.Stay Connected with Arthur:To stay connected with Arthur Bryan Marroquin and explore his incredible portfolio, you can visit his website ABM Photography. So much I have to tell you and update you on. My guest is the Senator who I managed to get on the line for a few minutes. Both of us were on vacation last week. I believe I told you I was taking my daughter on a surprise trip to Disneyland. I also got incredibly lucky and was invited to a game night at an old friend’s super beautiful home in “the palisades” as they call it down in L.A. for those of you who have not heard of The Palisades, it’s VERY generally located between Beverly Hills and Malibu, so yeah, a pretty fancy area. This game night ended up including some pretty hugely famous people, at least in my opinion, and we’re talking some emmy and academy award winning entertainers, for realzies. Now… the Senator knew I somehow snuck into this really cool evening while at the same time he was on his trip to see his daughter in New York. So… which vacation do you think we ended up talking about? If you’re a savvy Moron and Modern Moron listener who knows anything about the senator, you know what we talk about. He hints at having a big credit card bill from going to New York and I hint at that thinking maybe he’ll remember I’ve just taken my daughter to Disneyland where I’m sure you know a credit card can be put to its limits. But curiously the senator was only interested in his trip. Very strange. I promise to tell you about my surreal evening in the Palisades at some point if you’re interested but for this episode we will be trying to calm down the senator as he tires to catch up on work while he was in New York to see his daughter, the Broadway Production of Beetlejuice, going on a tour of Teddy Roosevelt’s childhood home, where he interrupts the tour guide to correct them on facts about Roosevelt, and we will discuss his desire to start practicing Tai Chi, which he somehow thinks is related to Chai Tea… but I think he was messing with me on that one and I think he got me. Because no Moron would mix up Tai Chi and Chai tea or think they were related. I refuse to believe that. What’s more believable is that I am such a moron that I fell for his joke. Either way, we’ll hear about vacations and Tai Chi Chai Tea on … The Modern Moron… thanks for listening. Monty Python - Not Dead Yet Scene

Actor Jesse Garcia is on the podcast. Not only did he star in one of our BraveMaker film DARLINGS---the feature screening of Collisions. He's starred in and led other TV shows like Robert Rodriguez's From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series (and you'll be seeing a lot of Jesse in 2020 on certain amount of unannounced streaming shows! Stay Tuned)---but he acted in a BROADWAY PRODUCTION of Pee-wee Herman's show! If you listen in on this episode--you'll hear podcast host Tony Gapastione try to do his best impression of PeeWee's iconic laugh, (which sounds a lot like Tony's real laugh).

We get mad as hell in a not-quite review, but more of an impression/discussion of the recent Broadway production of classic AFI film Network (which we did review previously) featuring Bryan Cranston in the role of Howard Beale. The post Film & TV Special: Network (Broadway Production 2019) appeared first on The Lost Signals.
While Frank is out of town, we welcome Ross Fraser, founding co-host of Booth One, back to the studio. He is clearly excited to be back behind a microphone and in rare form. Gary and Roscoe revisit some favorite topics such as, "Where are the Movie Stars?" and a new shark attack on Cape Cod. Roscoe shares his favorite news story of prior week about a woman in a stolen car trying to elude police in (where else?) Florida, by jumping into a pasture with a herd of cows, who then take chase. You cannot make this stuff up. We talk about the recent passing of the great Aretha Franklin. In 2008, Rolling Stone named her the greatest singer of the rock era, ahead of Ray Charles, Elvis Presley, Sam Cooke, and John Lennon. Check out this list! Friend of the show David Cromer will be appearing on Broadway in The Waverly Gallery this fall with Elaine May, Joan Allen, Michael Ceres, and Lucas Hedges. It previews on September 27 and opens October 27. We were already planning a trip to see Alexandra Billings in her Broadway debut in The Nap, but now have two great reasons to venture east. We have been invited to appear on After Hours with Rick Kogan on August 26. If you miss hearing it live, we'll post the link to the recording on our next episode. Both Gary and Roscoe recommend the book Something Wonderful, Rogers and Hammerstein's Broadway Revolution. Kiss of Death: Patricia Morison Learn about the actress Cole Porter discovered for his Broadway Production of Kiss Me Kate, who recently died at 103. From her NYT obituary: "The critics loved both her and the show — Brooks Atkinson of The New York Times praised her as “an agile and humorous actress who is not afraid of slapstick and who can sing enchantingly” — and so did the public."
The actors stood up and I started crying. The house lights went down to start the show and moments later I was moved. It took a moment to shake me out of my familiar world. But it wasn’t just the moment, of course. There was a world of history behind the moment. It was the skill and finesse of a lifetime of theatrical practice that knew how to bring that world into a moment. It took extraordinary expertise and sensitivity to make something so simple so powerful. It took mastery. After giving me such a powerful moment right out of the gate, I thought, “There might be nothing else as good as this in the rest of this show but if this is all it has to offer, it would be enough.” But it was definitely NOT all it had to offer. I saw a play that exquisitely resurrected the past while shining light on our present. It made me weep so often I wished I’d brought a box of tissues with me. And I almost never cry in the theatre. All around me, I heard the quiet sound of other people taken over by their emotions. To keep reading Why Giving Up Art Is Not an Option visit the Songs for the Struggling Artist blog. 25 years after coming to New York's Roundabout Theatre Company, artistic director Todd Haimes talks about the company's growth from a financially troubled Off-Broadway group into one of the country's largest not-for-profit theatres; his own transition from managing the business side to setting the artistic agenda; the relationship of the company to the world of commercial theatre, since both produce on Broadway; how he manages to attract top level artists to work at Roundabout for relatively minimal salaries; why he planned to leave the company 10 years ago -- and why he ended up staying put; and how the company expanded its repertoire from Ibsen, Shaw and Shakespeare into more modern works, musicals and even brand-new plays. Original air date - July 18, 2008.
