Hawk Droppings
The Democratic Response to the State of the Union Was an Insult to Voters

Hawk Droppings

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 25, 2026 19:55

Hawk watched Donald Trump's State of the Union address on February 24, 2026, then watched the Democratic response delivered by Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger, and came away far angrier at the Democrats than at Trump. While Trump's behavior was predictable, the Democratic response was scripted, sanitized, and shockingly silent on the most damning facts about a convicted felon, adjudicated rapist, and fraudster who was indicted 91 times across four jurisdictions, convicted on 34 felony counts for interfering with the 2016 election, incited the January 6th insurrection, and whose company was convicted of 17 fraud-related felonies. Spanberger never said the words convicted felon, rapist, fraudster, fascist, authoritarian, or genocide. She did not mention Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, or the ICE killings of Renee Good, Alex Prey, or Keith Porter. She did not call Trump a liar. She did not mention that he pardoned January 6th insurrectionists, ignored the Constitution, or is dismantling democracy. Meanwhile, Raphael Warnock, when given time on air, immediately named Epstein, called out the administration's wickedness, and spoke to the transfer of wealth from the bottom 75% to the top 1%. Hawk argues Warnock, or the young Somali woman from Minneapolis who spoke plainly about racism and murder, should have delivered the response instead. Congressman Al Green was physically removed from the House floor for holding a sign reading "Black people are not apes," while Hakeem Jeffries, Chuck Schumer, and every other Democrat sat silent. Hawk also points to the DNC's own post-2024 autopsy confirming that Democratic support for Israel's actions in Gaza cost them the election, yet Democrats continue accepting millions from AIPAC and J Street. Have Canadians been lied to about residential schools?

In 2022, news media across the globe reported that hundreds of mass graves containing the remains of Indigenous children had been discovered at a former residential school site in Canada. This turned out not to be true. Nothing had been discovered at all. Yet the narrative of not only the “mass graves,” but systemic abuse and even “genocide” perpetrated at these residential schools, lives on. Canada's relationship to Indigenous peoples and history is a strong one—tied to funding, legislation, education, land acknowledgements, policy, and of course guilt. But is it accurate? From there, Ken and J.P. tackle why these passages feel uniquely difficult today, how modern culture tends to elevate “soft virtues” (love/mercy) while minimizing “hard virtues” (justice/holiness), and why many people unintentionally rewrite Scripture to match cultural expectations. They focus heavily on context—historical realities, existential threats, and Israel's role in God's redemptive plan—and point listeners to a key resource: Paul Copan's book Is God a Moral Monster? for deeper study.

On today's episode of The Jeff Dornik Show, Jeff is joined LIVE by Jan Jekielek, senior editor at The Epoch Times and author of Killed to Order, to expose what he describes as the Chinese Communist Party's state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting industry targeting Falun Gong practitioners, Uyghurs, Tibetans, and underground Christians. Drawing from survivor testimony including Peiming Cheng and years of investigative reporting, Jekielek lays out evidence that the CCP has industrialized murder for profit through coordinated efforts involving hospitals, prisons, and military institutions, while Western medical establishments and transplant collaborations have enabled the regime's system. The conversation confronts the scale of the atrocities, the regime's 981 Project tied to elite longevity, the infiltration of utilitarian bioethics into Western medicine, and what Congress and the Trump administration can do immediately to stop what Jekielek argues is one of the greatest crimes of the 21st century.SPONSORSupermassive Black Coffee is crafted from organic, gourmet beans fire-roasted in an antique Victorian-era roaster, delivering the rich, smooth, non-acidic taste that reminds you this is how coffee was always meant to be. The War on Illahee: Genocide, Complicity, and Cover-Ups in the Pioneer Northwest (Yale UP, 2025) by Marc James Carpenter is a history book about history. More specifically, it's a book about how history gets subsumed in myth, and why the truth often matters less than the story that ends up being told. In the 1850s across the Pacific Northwest, settlers engaged in bloody wars with several Indgienous tribes to seize their homelands - Illahee - for incorporation into the United States. Yet, when those same settlers sat down to write about their experiences, the bloodshed, danger, and trauma was transmuted via memory and a multi-generational game of telephone into a triumphant story of peaceful pioneers fairly trading Native people for their land. The War on Illahee is thus not just a history of Native and settler warfare in what is today Oregon and Washingotn, but also an argument for the power of history, and the insidiousness of choosing to forget the past. Israel with the support of the US, the UK and other Western governments acts with impunity as it prosecutes a genocide but as Segneri succinctly argues ignoring national and international law puts foreign investors in illegal settlements and in the broader Israeli economy at risk of bottom line losses to accompany the reputational damage they will inevitably incur. In this conversation a group of us interviewed Dr. Ali Kadri about his book The Accumulation of Waste: A Political Economy of Systemic Destruction. This conversation was the final discussion in a study group which began last October and involved participants from all over the world. The book provides a theoretical framework which understands waste as a value making process where war-making, the wasting of social classes, and the wasting of social nature become central to capitalist accumulation and to how capital resolves crises in accumulation. The questions in this discussion were those that remained for some of the members upon reading and discussing the work over the last few months. In some cases you will hear members of the group ask their questions directly, in others I ask based on individual questions provided by members or common themes that came up among multiple participants from the group. We get into the imperialist aggression against Iran, the role of patriarchy and racism within Dr. Kadri's analysis, and questions of optimism or hope against the death dealing forces of imperialism. To gain a further understanding of Dr. Ali Kadri's work, check out the first interview we conducted with him back in 2023, and of course check out his books as well as various interviews available online, we will link some of these in the show description. This study group was really rewarding once again, thank you to all of our participants and to Dr. Ali Kadri. In our current study group - which is already full - we are discussing Lenin's Imperialism: The Highest Stage of Capitalism.  Our next one will be announced in March, so to ensure you have an opportunity to join us, since they almost always fill up quite quickly, make sure you are signed up on our patreon for as little as $1 a month, all patrons are welcome to join us in these study groups and they are a great place to deepen our knowledge and analysis collectively. A single clip can reveal the whole playbook. When a powerful senator calls military aid to Israel his “baby,” it says everything about priorities, leverage, and who pays the price. We pull the thread from that moment into the reality on the ground in Gaza, where a supposed ceasefire overlaps with daily killings and a systematic assault on healthcare. Detained physicians describe torture and maiming that read less like isolated abuses and more like a strategy to make Gaza unlivable. Pair that with efforts to block international medical work and you get collapse by design, not accident. We also tackle the battlefield of narratives. For years, Gaza's death tolls were dismissed as propaganda. Now, with the IDF effectively acknowledging those figures, the numbers stand—and so does the moral weight behind them. Meanwhile, legacy outlets still reach for soft phrasing, telling readers a ceasefire is being “tested” while children are buried. That language isn't neutral; it shapes consent. The question is whether accuracy can survive the pressure to keep audiences comfortable. Then we turn to Iran, where swagger and strategy collide. We dissect claims about a near-term nuclear bomb, point to inspections and intelligence, and examine how a cheap Iranian surveillance drone downed by an F-35 exposes a losing economic logic for endless escalation. With carriers near the Strait of Hormuz and merchant vessels as potential triggers, miscalculation could do what no speech intends: start a war. Add in maximalist U.S. demands—from missile limits to severing regional ties to dismantling civilian enrichment—and it's clear why talks stall. These aren't guardrails; they're tripwires. We close by pushing back on a convenient myth that Americans don't care about the Epstein files. Crimes against children cut across ideology, and accountability still matters. We're lining up a guest to go deeper and separate signal from noise as more documents surface. If you value frank analysis over spin—on Gaza, Iran, media narratives, and elite impunity—this conversation is for you. If this resonated, subscribe, share with a friend who cares about foreign policy and accountability, and leave a review so more people can find the show. Your support keeps independent voices in the fight.

Many of the images that have been seen from Israel’s war in Gaza have already been seen for the last time. With Gaza under siege from the Israeli military and tech companies censoring and taking down material, the responsibility falls on the people of Gaza to document and archive their own evidence of war crimes and genocide. How will it survive? This is a story from the archives. This originally aired on April 11, 2025. None of the dates, titles or other references from that time have been changed.
