In this episode, we chat with Carlos Korten, Co-founder & Chief Product Officer of Bindle Systems. Bindle built one of the largest private-sector deployments of decentralized identity in the USA, and Carlos shares tons of stories from the trenches of getting hundreds of thousands of consumers on board. We dive in to the go-to-market strategies Bindle employed, including how they sold directly to verifiers, and how if they could do it over again, Carlos would focus even more narrowly on verifiers. We talk about their business model and what they learned about making money with verifiable credentials. And we talk about some of Carlos' hard-earned lessons that he recommends to anyone building an IDtech product. From discussing the founding of Bindle, its journey through the pandemic, and then the decision to pivot away from a COVID product, Carlos and Riley's discussion makes for an engaging episode. To contact Carlos or to learn more about Bindle's current focus, reach out to carlos@bindlesystems.com.Reach out to Riley (@rileyphughes) and Trinsic (@trinsic_id) on Twitter. We'd love to hear from you.

Carl Carlson tells us about the leisurely trip through France he took with his wife in 2021. They have visited France every year for the last 30 years and have only skipped in 2020 (pandemic oblige), that's how much they enjoy France! Carl has a keen eye for great hotels and restaurant (listed below). We also talk about the joy of getting lost in Paris, the lovely river walk in Bordeaux, a great B&B in Bergerac, and his favorite place in France: Sancerre. Episode Page | Boutique | Newletter | Facebook Accommodations recommended in this episode Carl likes to stay at the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile because Porte Maillot is nearby and it's an easy place to pickup a rental car. It also makes it easy to rent a car in Paris and not drive through central Paris, which is difficult when you're not used to driving in France. The old manor house maison d'hôtes called Clos D'Argenson in Bergerac. Room with a large sitting area, large bathroom, laverie and Carrefour Market nearby, comfortable beds, and an incredible breakfast. L'Esplanade hotel in Domme. A nice hotel with a marvelous restaurant. A tad expensive, but the dining room is lovely, the view is great, the food is great, a favorite of French people as well as Anglos. Château de la Bourdaisière near Tours: gorgeous XV century chateau in an outstanding setting. This would be a lovely "pied à terre" to explore the Loire area. Discussed in this Episode [00:04:39] Travel to France during Covid [00:05:53] The Advantages of staying near Porte Maillot at the Hyatt Regency [00:07:28] Sébillon Restaurant [00:09:20] Getting the Health Pass for France [00:10:46] The Apple Store on the Champs Elysées [00:12:07] Getting lost in Paris [00:13:32] Train to Bordeaux and a walk along the Garonne [00:16:08] Driving to Bergerac and stay at a beautiful Maison d'Hôtes [00:21:51] Why choose a B&B over a hotel [00:22:54] Spending a few days in Bergerac [00:25:36] Bergerac to Domme [00:27:49] The market in Sarlat [00:29:21] Getting all "ducked-out" [00:32:24] Covid rules enforcement in France [00:33:14] Driving to Sancerre [00:35:00] Château de la Bourdaisière near Tours in the Loire Valley [00:40:00] Reading French restaurant menus [00:40:29] Why is wine so cheap at everyday French restaurants? [00:45:12] How to ask for restaurant recommendations from French people [00:48:53] Thank you patrons and donors! With all the changes happening across the globe over the last year and a half, where is the future headed? In this episode I sit down with Zuby to discuss freedom, mandates, and lockdowns, division and unity, history repeating itself, critical thinking and personal responsibility. The media and government have done such a good job at dividing people, creating fear, and not allowing nuance, so we break it all down in this episode. Zuby is an independent rap artist, public speaker, and creative entrepreneur who captures the hearts of many with his authenticity and grounding unique perspective. He's not afraid to say what he really thinks and doesn't shy away from expressing himself. In this episode we cover: Embracing the gray of different perspectives The polarization of one side or the other and how the media divides people What does a truly free society look like? Is coercion freedom? Are ultimatums freedom? History repeating itself. What we can learn from the past Is being against mandates and lockdowns selfish, uncaring, and not trusting science? Detrimental effects to the lockdowns and mandates The current role out of the “Health Pass” across the globe Why we should be aware of government elected officials' power and if they always have our best interest at heart How there is so much fear right now: fear of the virus, fear of standing out, fear of loosing one's job, or fear of speaking one's mind Zuby's viral tweets that speak to what's happening in our culture and world in a unique way Victor mentality and personal responsibility Where to find Zuby Real Talk with Zuby Podcast Instagram Twitter YouTube WHERE TO FIND ME: Get my ebooks My instagram WATCH these episodes on my podcast YouTube channel Family YouTube channel POLL SOURCE LINK: https://www.brookings.edu/research/ho...The over 1/3 of Americans who believe hospitalization rates are over 50% for covid was from taking from the 41% of democrats and 28% of republicans who believe that to be true. Why are people protesting the Covid health pass in France? Challenging terroir by growing lavender outside of Provence. The birth of Le Canard Enchainé, the weekly that has brought down politicians and holds power to account. Spotlight on France is back! During the summer break the Covid health pass became an integral part of French daily life. The government argues that encouraging people to get vaccinated against the virus is necessary to avoid future lockdowns. It seems to have worked: vaccination rates are up, and the fourth wave has remained under control in mainland France. But a small, but vocal, minority opposes the pass and have been protesting weekly since July. While the government and much of the media paints them as fringe anti-vaxers, the movement is broader than QAnon conspirationists and vaccine sceptics. We met people at a recent demonstration in Paris to hear why they are so opposed. (Listen @0'40'') France's traditions are linked to the land – wine has its terroir, cheese has its protected appellation. Lavender has long been associated with the southern region of Provence, in the foothills of the Alps, north of Marseille. For two centuries the purple flower has been cultivated intensively for its oil, used in the perfume and pharmaceutical industry. In eastern Aveyron, some 250 kilometres to the west of Provence, sheep farmer Laurent Fages has discovered that the terrain in his area is also perfectly suited to growing lavender. (Listen @18'30'') The first issue of Le Canard Enchainé, one of France's last investigative newspapers, came out on 10 September 1915. It was aimed at countering pro-military propaganda being spread in mainstream media during WW1. Known for its independence, it remains a significant force in French public life. In this episode of The Editor's Desk, Michael J. Matt looks down the road a bit and asks the question: What if the Great Reset fails to materialize before it starts threatening the midterm reelection chances of Democrat politicians? It's not just Joe Biden's auto-demolition, which Michael Matt predicted would happen back in August of 2020. It's HOW he's collapsing, and WHEN. It's too soon for lower level Democrat politicians (who are not in the Davos loop), guys such as Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who just abandoned vaccine/mask mandates in favor of a new slogan: “We've gone from pandemic to end-demic.” Why? Because he's up for re-election in 2022 and voters don't give a rip about the Great Reset. And this is happening all around the world: In the streets of Paris last week, 200,000 demonstrated against Macron's so-called “Health Pass”. The situation in Israel is proving that vaccines just don't work as we were told they do. Justin Trudeau is in big trouble up in Canada as he's having to cancel rallies due to massive protests of his vaccine passport, and this just weeks before the Canadian election. Pope Francis and Cardinal Cupich called for forced vaccinations just before the BBC, Reuters and Bloomberg begin reporting the cold, hard truth – that way too many people are getting injured and even dying from the vaccines. In this episode, Michael argues that the counterrevolution that's coming – in the State and in the Church – will be the stuff they make movies about. People are sick and tired of the stupid. They're not goin to get vaxxed, Bill DeBlassio, just so they can go see Cardi B and Maroon 5 again...or to go watch NFL gladiators take a knee at that billion-dollar, taxpayer-funded football stadium next Sunday. If they're going to force us to take the jab to get back to THAT, Michael says: Thanks, but no thanks! By the way, Remnant TV is both getting kicked off YouTube and moving to a brand-new new studio.
