In my young career it took a lot to really be okay with my emotions and not forget them. I think that's a common thing with helpers, that we tend to focus on others and not enough of ourselves. I just make sure that every single day, I have room and space where I have just me. I'm not giving. I'm not talking. I exercise. I do yoga. I live here in California, so I walk by the beach. These are powerful tools for releasing. I also have people in my life that I talk to. It is so important to have people that you trust and know to be able to air some of these things out. Thoughts On Breathing For me, breathing is embedded in my exercise and my yoga routine so I practice the breathing. And like I said I have that morning ritual where I do some sort of exercise every single day. I feel like the breathing is more organic to the process, but you know not everybody is like that. Some people have to have an app or dedicated time for meditation. Bullying Story That takes me back to the days when I worked in the school system as a clinical social worker. There were a ton of those scenarios with bullying, and I think probably now there are even more. Where bullying comes from is, that person usually has been bullied themselves. A lot of it is in the household. A lot of bullying stems from low self-esteem and so they bully other people. They do that so they will feel better about themselves because they are not really happy within. When I worked with kids on this topic, what really help them was giving them a sense of self-worth. Giving them a purpose, giving them a job, giving them a task. Giving them something that they could feel good about so that they didn't have to get that negative attention. He's also the author of Content Chemistry: The Illustrated Handbook for Content Marketing.Andy gives up to 100 webinars and presentations per year and is a frequent repeat speaker at many of the top national marketing conferences. What kind of content can't be created by an AI? I love this because I strongly believe that AI will reduce the cost of creating lots of content and especially specific types of content. But there are still types of content that it's not going to be very good at. AI, in my experience, doesn't really have a strong perspective. The technology is really just predicting the next chunk of language in a series. It's not trying to succeed at a goal per se. It's trying to create a piece of language that satisfies the prompt. So, if you want it to create some true thought leadership content or make a stand, have an opinion, it doesn't really do that. I've never seen AI throw a punch. It just isn't built for that. So, if you want to differentiate your content there are several great opportunities to do that. What is the wrong way to be social online? I think from a business perspective, it's constant selling at 100%. You're not going to have a following. You're going to lose any sort of followers that you did have. But if you're constantly pitching your service or, or product, you're going to lose interest right away. It's not sell me media. It's social media.Connect with Andy!Connect on LinkedInContent Chemistry: The Illustrated Handbook for Content Marketing Sixth Edition

June 12- 18 2023 The moon will be new in curious Gemini June 17. Start fresh with little adventures. Pluto moved back to Capricorn to review the last couple years. This may not be easy (understatement). Saturn also moves retrograde the day of the New Moon. We can see back in time to connect the dots. Our happy future selves depend on our good choices now. “ “Discipline proceeds dominion”. Can't stop talking Mercury is squaring off with Shut the f up Saturn. You might find yourself triggered into saying everything you always wanted to say but knew you shouldn't. Saturn in Pisces is willing to do the work to create connection Mercury in Taurus on the other hand is too stubborn see the rightness in that. Stubborn to the point of stupidity. Needless to say, it could be a triggering day for all. So keep aware. Watch what comes up from the detached observer persepctive. Blowing your top is never cool, but the truth is. A fine line to walk. Action will be taken. Just hold steady in your heart before you leap, or speak. The New Moon Gemini on the 17th is in a nice position. Maybe it's time to team up with someone. Connections of all kinds can be made. There is nice energy here to harmonize and support your curiosity. Be sure to communicate what needs communicating. Words are magical tools. Use them wisely. Write down your wishes. Magnetize your goals. An hour before the New moon big Daddy Saturn is going retrograde. This is a good time to plan how fabulously creative you are going to be while Saturn moves through pisces the next couple years. Structure can assist our creative selves to expand and produce lucrative outcomes. On Sunday Neptune is squaring the Sun. Confusion and overwhelm could be an issue. Or you could finally make the big push to make the magic happen and get focused on bringing to life what you have kept hidden in your dreams. As always, come from the heart. The heart knows the truth. Your body has wisdom yet to discover. If you are interested in more information about the Calling on Chiron- Hands on Horses playshop Click Here

Episode 19: Back in Texas with Dr. Brooke Miller
In this episode, Mark talks with experienced modeler Frank Novakowski about the key changes to his teaching when he began using modeling instruction. They talk about the importance of the storyline in modeling, and how Frank and others are working to make the ideas in biology fit together in a cohesive story. He talks about what teachers do during workshops and how that helps them understand what students might be thinking as they go through activities. Guests Frank Novakowski Frank Novakowski has been teaching for 24 years, using modeling instruction methodology since 2003. He is the science curriculum leader at Lake Park High School in Roselle, IL. Frank teaches modeling workshops, including one coming up this summer at Cal Poly. Twitter Highlights [25:41] Frank Novakowski: "I mentioned the importance of going through the materials so that you kind of know what the sequence is and how, and why they were developed that way. But it's also important for teachers to know that there's flexibility and they need to...make modifications to best fit their students." [29:14] Frank Novakowski: "that joint session, I learned, I think as much as any of the participants in the workshop, just talking about that cross-cutting concept of energy and how it's approached in physics, chemistry, and biology, and what are some of the ways that we can try to work together across those three core content areas so that when students take biology and they take chemistry and they take physics, they're getting a similar treatment of, okay, here is how we talk about energy. And it makes sense in all three of these core content areas." Resources Download Transcript Ep 41 Transcript

Tradeshows are here to stay. It will always remain a vital component of the marketing strategy. But as events continue to change and adapt, the bigger question we need to be asking is: how are you taking it a step further and elevating your own brand? In this episode of “Event Marketing: Redefined,” I've invited again one of Rockway's Senior Account Executives, Mollie Stahl, to join me as we take a closer look into the emerging trend of microevents. From mobile tours to themed lunches, we'll discuss why it's become a popular alternative or addition to traditional tradeshows. The disconnect between real estate investors can sometimes be frustrating. Often, to learn more about a specific niche market or a specific deal, you have to seek out someone who is a pillar in that industry - a mentor or teacher - in that space. This is the problem Paul tackled when he started his business. There needed to be a way that real estate investors can talk to *each other* about properties and deals. And that's why he founded TwnSqr, or "Townsquare," a marketplace platform specifically for real estate investors. Enjoyed the episode? Subscribe & share with someone you know! Reuben Swartz is a software engineer who found his true passion in sales and marketing. What drove his passion was that different-sized companies require different practices when it comes to marketing strategies. That's why Reuben founded Mimiran, a CRM platform for small business owners and solopreneurs who wanted to expand their business without a lot of overwhelmed. Reuben founded Mimiran on this principle: the best way to grow your business is by helping people instead of selling, teaching people instead of marketing, and connecting with people instead of networking. One strategy Reuben suggests is to niche down instead of going wide. When you want to grow your business, go narrow and know your customers rather than try to target everyone. Reuben shares more strategies to help you grow your business without becoming salesy or pushy in today's One Big Tip podcast episode. They say necessity is the mother of all invention, and in Reuben's case, that's precisely what happened. He searched the world for a CRM that would work for his small business. When he didn't find one, he built one to suit. Then he realized he needed to grow his company and had to rely on making connections and networking. As an introverted entrepreneur, he realized that wouldn't work for his personality. Instead of just having conversations with everyone, he started to connect with people who were genuinely interested in what he had to say and what he was offering. That's where the magic happened. Reuben built the success of his business by creating connections with intention with like-minded people who were interested in what he had to offer. The strategy of connecting with intention means you need to know who your market is. You need to pay attention to where they hang out online, which platforms they use, and know where to find them. Then there's no selling. You have person A who has something they are passionate about and person B who is genuinely interested in what person A has to offer. Another method that Reuben uses is talking to people you already know and just telling them what you're up to. People are typically genuinely interested and want to help others. This is an untapped resource for most entrepreneurs. The only reason people don't do this is because it's out of their comfort zone, and they are entrenched in fear. If you're ready to grow your business, start making connections with intention and watch your business grow. We'd like to know how this One Big Tip worked for you!In This Episode:[2:25] Reuben shares his backgroundYou don't always start where you need to beFollow your passion and see where it takes you[5:10] When you can't find what you need, you need to get creativeDon't be afraid to follow your passionIf you need a specific service, others need it too[13:20] Sales is not like dating, to succeed you don't cast a wide netTo be successful you need to narrow your reachIt's better to be an expert on one thing than average on many[16:50] COVID impacted entrepreneursStep outside of your comfort zone The people you already know are your first point of contact[20:02] Passion is something that is contagiousClients can feel the passion behind a pitchIf you know something is good, it's easy to convince others of the sameSupport the show
Full Hour | Today, Dom led off the Dom Giordano Program by talking about some fun that's unfolded since his show yesterday and interview with former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, telling that a clip that she posted to her Twitter feed went viral but for the wrong reasons. On the show yesterday, Haley suggested that legal immigrants are more patriotic than ‘most Americans,' which really set off the Left, causing a ton of commentary and retweets. Dom doubles down on what Haley said, arguing why he supports exactly what she was saying. Then, Dom asks what would happen if Governor Abbott of Texas decided to send some illegal immigrants up to Philadelphia, telling what has happened in similar situations in Washington D.C. and NYC in which liberal leaders have pushed back on a new trend of bussing migrants to these Left states. Then Dom previews the upcoming interview with Republican Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz, offering strategy that he believes the candidate needs to employ to connect Fetterman to progressive policies that have led to a spike in crime and a horrible economy. Then, Dom welcomes Dr. Mehmet Oz, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, back onto the Dom Giordano Program. First, Dom and Dr. Oz discuss the repeated challenges by Dr. Oz of a debate against opponent John Fetterman, with the Doctor commenting about the new shift in tone from the Fetterman campaign pointing to a possible debate. Dr. Oz and Dom denounce this development, though, with Dom proclaiming that he doesn't believe a debate will ever happen. Dr. Oz agrees with this sentiment, telling that he also believes the Democratic candidate will continue delay tactics to get out of debating. Then, Giordano and Dr. Oz discuss the financial support of Fetterman, with Oz telling of the massive amount of funding coming from out of State for the progressive candidate. Then, Oz and Giordano discuss the spike in crime that are a result of hyper-progressive policies that Fetterman continues to propagate, and his refusal to answer hard questions about his idea of criminal justice reform. Ideas That Make An Impact: Expert and Author Interviews to transform your life and business
3 big ideas discussed in this episode: Accessibility or "Find Your Celine"- Most of the time as experts we want to introduce people to our innovation first, but when something feels too new people back away. So it's better to start with an anchor concept then introduce our innovation. What most of us get wrong about influence- We often believe that influence is about persuading people to do things, but true influence is when people do things without us asking them to. We create this influence when we give people something that makes them look good when they share our idea. If you want people to remember more, focus on L.E.S.S.- We can carve out space in people's memory by focusing on creating our own language, tapping into emotion, providing simplicity in the message, and most importantly packaging it all in a structure that is easy to follow. This is a super exciting episiode - not because Chris and Ari are back together in the same office for the first time in over a month, but because they're joined by a super cool guest, Zoo Miami's Ron Magill! Ron shares a bunch of great stories from his history in the zoo field: meeting and becoming good friends with Jim Fowler, reflecting on the lessons learned from 27 years of being watched by 10 million people a week on the biggest TV show in the world, how an experience breaking zoo policies on live TV lead to him becoming their spokesperson, and how a very special relationship with an incredible couple had a massive impact on Ron and the zoo's conservation efforts. It's funny how people from the same generation just hit it off. They reminisce about having the same graduation song, laugh at the past fashion trends… it's easy to relate and find common ground. On the flip, when we start having conversations with people much older or younger than ourselves, it can sometimes be a struggle to get going. Often, we even begin changing the way we talk. In this 20 min episode, we discuss common mistakes that happen when talking to others of a different generation and how to avoid them. With key takeaways and a few realizations, we have a feeling this episode will spark some enjoyable conversations, new perspectives, and belly laughs. In the end, we are all just humans who want to be treated as equals – and, come to find out, our experiences really aren't all that unique.
