Flesh Becomes Words is a story about the technological breakthrough of finding a technology that can translate the natural "flesh" language of DNA into the words of the English language. It pits Science versus God as a way of not proving the existence of one at the expense of the other, but instead, shows how the facts in science reveal the truth of God's words. “The truth of God's words endures, while the observable facts of science are subject to change. Facts are from the visible sense-bound world. Truth comes from the eternal spiritual world. Flesh Becomes Words chronicles how scientific discoveries in the invisible molecular world, such as DNA and its applications in the science of life, are metaphors for underlying invisible spiritual truths.”For example, the two strands of the double-helical structure of DNA are referred to as the sense and nonsense strands, or the coding and non-coding strands. This is representative of the spiritual strands of good and evil intertwined in our souls, with us being left with the decision of choosing which strand to express in the words we speak. “The thought life is the essence of who we are as people,” shares Springer. “It is our soul, which is our mind. Our mind is often associated with our brain, but in Flesh Becomes Words, memory or thoughts have been discovered to have a genetic basis in the blood; the DNA of white blood cells. This is significant because it expands the mind or soul to being the intersection of body and spirit rather than a physiological attribute of the brain.”

What does it mean to be a follower of Jesus? (Answers – Raise your Hand) A FOLLOWER OF JESUS/Disciple is: One who is following Jesus. Then he said to the crowd, "If any of you wants to be my follower, you must put aside your selfish ambition, shoulder your cross daily, and follow me. Luke 9:23 (NLT) One who is being changed by Jesus. Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is. Romans 12:2 (NLT) One who is committed to the mission of Jesus. “Jesus came and told his disciples, "I have been given complete authority in heaven and on earth. [19] Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. [20] Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20 (NLT) https://youtu.be/Ymfh6RJezQ4 Why are we supposed to share the gospel? Because we are committed to the mission of Jesus. Matthew 28:19 – 20 (NLT) 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Romans 10:15 (NLT) 15 And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!” CHURCH PULSE WEEKLY (podcast) on Evangelism Data from Reviving Evangelism, noting the sobering finding that nearly half of Christian Millennial respondents in 2019 (47%) believed that sharing their faith with a non-Christian was WRONG. However, 94 percent of these same Millennials also said that the best thing that could ever happen as a result of a spiritual conversation would be that the non-believer would come to know JESUS. “When it comes to embracing the new dynamic of evangelism, the most important shift is the shift from proclamation (telling or yelling) alone to conversation,” notes Mark Springer. “There are so many different avenues that this wisdom is illuminated through. One is through the life and ministry of Jesus. [In the gospels,] he asked 307 questions, he was asked 183 questions and he only directly answered eight questions. He created space for conversations in his interactions.” “Create space for conversation about your evangelism strategies in your churches. Train your people to be like Jesus, to be 40 times more likely to listen during an interaction with someone than to drive home a proclamation (telling). Create cultures of listening both in and around your churches and in your congregations.” Share about the first time sharing my faith on the 16th Street Mall How can we share the gospel? – Personally and Conversationally ASK: Get to know people. Listen to them and learn their story. Ask questions about their background and spirituality. ADMIRE: As a person shares their faith background, point out things about their religion you admire (i.e., dedication, missions). ADMIT: Emphasize that as a follower of Jesus, you are a messed-up human who needs a relationship with Jesus. Transition into your life change story and then the story of the Gospel. God – created us to be with him. (Genesis 1-2) Our – sins separate us from God. (Genesis 3) Sins – cannot be removed by good deeds. (Genesis 4 - Malachi 4) (Bad News) Paying – the price for our sin, Jesus died and rose again. (Matthew - Luke) (Good News) Everyone – who trusts in Him alone has eternal life. (John) Life – with Jesus starts now and lasts forever. Mark Springer, CEO of Dayspring Restoration (Bozeman, Montana) and president of Restoration Industry Association (RIA) joins The DYOJO Podcast to discuss: The Mark Springer origin story His dad started Dayspring Restoration in 1989 as a small side business. Mark was the only guy in high school with a cell phone, not to be cool but so that his dad could get ahold of him to respond to after hours water damage emergencies. For a short period of time Mark tried to get away from property restoration but was sucked back in. Mark Springer 2.0 When Mark returned to Montana, he realized there was a lot of opportunity in this growing field of insurance claim damage repairs and set out to grow the company. Mark noted, "If there was a place to advertise, we were there." Some of his most memorable advertisements were flooding and then burning his own house to demonstrate the restoration process. Dayspring has grown from one location doing about $75,000 a year in sales to 6 locations producing over $17 million in annual revenues. Mark shares that Dayspring has three main buckets that they draw sales leads from: Word of mouth and prior customers. mark shares that the average policy holder has a claim every 7 years, and if you can achieve repeat business that means one customer may have 4 claims over a 30 year span. Many of Dayspring's clients are 2nd and 3rd generation family members. They also invest in online marketing including pay per click and SEO in addition to their direct business development and mass media efforts. Mark recognizes that if he were starting over in today's market, things would be much different than when he started his process in the early 1990's. He believes there are a few universal principles that can help any entrepreneur in any market: First, having a plan and adapting your plan. Develop your plan and execute on it with consistency. As Mark likes to say, "An imperfect plan today is better than a perfect plan tomorrow." You must have the determination and capitalization to endure. Their team meets quarterly to review their strategic plan and adapt to trends in each local market. Second, over invest in the financial side of your business. An accurate understanding of your financial picture will empower you to make good decisions and seize upon opportunities. Third, invest in people and culture. In today's market your team members have to be more important than your clients. Happy customers come after you have invested in creating happy and cared for team members. Mark discusses the work he has been doing with his team at Restoration Industry Association to create the Advocacy and Government Affairs (AGA) Committee and other key targets to help improve the property restoration industry. Katie and Mark shed light on some of the obstacles they faced, including their lack of tech knowledge, manually running the platform, and creating the database off of Mark’s laptop! While these things posed challenges at the time, there is no doubt that this slow, iterative process has contributed to the platform Avatar is today. We also hear about their decision to migrate from a web app to a native one and how they incorporate client feedback into their product. Katie and Mark are incredible entrepreneurs who are a great example of what can happen when you are willing to take lessons out of failures and just keep going. Be sure to tune in today! Key Points From This Episode: • Hear about what Avatar Nutrition is and the impetus for starting the platform.• A significant client transformation Mark saw when he was working as a personal trainer.• How Mark and Katie came together and the winding road they took to start the platform.• Transitioning from a web to native app and what that process has been like.• How the slow, iterative process of building Avatar contributed to its great database.• The power of having a person, rather than a computer respond to customer queries.• How Avatar on-boarded their first 1500 customers through word-of-mouth advertising.• Avatar’s purpose-driven mission: How this has kept the needle moving.• Discovering flexible dieting changed Katie’s life and helped her overcome her eating disorder.• Unexpected obstacles and tragedies Mark and Katie have faced building Avatar.• The journey of understanding tech better and what Mark and Katie have learned.• Some of the reasons for moving from a web to a native app.• What’s on the horizon for Avatar now that they have launched the native app.

This week we welcome RIA President Mark Springer and IICRC Chairman of the BoardKevin Pearson for a show we are calling Detente between RIA and IICRC. This is the fourth in our series of shows about the development and implementation of the strategic agreement between the two groups. The Z-man and Radio Joe are happy to see this happening after years of missed opportunities to work together for the betterment of the restoration industry. Mark Springer is the President of Dayspring Restoration, a company that performs restoration services in properties that are damaged by disasters such as water, fire, wind, or environmental damage. Dayspring performs these services across the great state of Montana where Mark has lived his entire life. The Dayspring family has grown to over 125 team members who work hard to delight their customers who have experienced property damage in their homes or businesses. Mark is the current President of the Restoration Industry Association. Kevin Pearson is an industry consultant who has been in the industry since 1992. Kevin started as a technician in the field and worked his way up to managing a cleaning and restoration company. Then in 2001 Kevin opened Pearson Carpet Care and grew it into a multi-truck operation and was able to sell it in January 2018. Since then Kevin has been an industry consultant and performs inspections for the flooring manufacturers. Kevin has also spent many years working to raise the level of the cleaning, restoration, and inspection industries through the IICRC. Over the years, Kevin has served on standards committees, chaired the Certified Firm Committee, Chaired the Nominating Committee, Chaired the Education Committee and served many different officer positions on the Board. Kevin currently serves as the IICRC Chairman of the Board for (2019 -2021).
Legal implications for restoration contractors when considering COVID-19 response. For nearly 25 years, The Restoration Lawyer has been in the trenches helping contractors to do things the right way both through his legal practice as well as his extensive efforts in education. This last year, under the leadership of Restoration Industry Association (RIA) President Elect, Mark Springer, and his industry manifesto, Our Greatest Need, Ed has been a key figure in the RIA's focus on advocacy. Mark outlined a seven step action plan which includes the formation of an Advocacy and Government Affairs (AGA) Committee, of which Ed is the founding chair, as well as the recently appointed Restoration Contractor Advocate. You'll have to watch the video to get it directly from Ed, but advice number one was to stop the use of traditional work authorizations. Mr. Cross states, “Performing restoration work with the traditional work authorization is kind of like playing football wearing sandals. You can do it, but it's not going to turn out very well.” Ed recommends actual contracts for payment, like contractors would typically use, which establish an obligation by the owner to pay the contractor for the work. Restoration professionals need to understand how much more vast, complex and extensive the legal issues and risk exposure are with coronavirus response, as opposed to other types of work. Contractors must define a clear value proposition to answer what the customer is getting for their payment. Ed notes that this is not like mold where it is easy to verify contamination and remediation with “before and after” photographs. Contractors must research products, techniques and verification processes prior to rushing into response. Monday morning lawyers who bring lawsuits against contractors will have the benefit of hindsight when bringing potential suits against restorers. Ed shares the importance of clarifying and documenting, “What you are doing, why you are doing it, how you are doing it, when you are doing it, and where you are doing it.” As essential for all projects, contractors must set up their files to diligently tell the story of the scope of work, prior conditions and response. Mark Springer never signed any of his work. Now recognized as “Untitled Mark,” the artist has found a love for salvaged materials and makes his mark on the world as a furniture designer who incorporates distinct angles, raw metal, and visual contradictions between form and function.
Mark Springer - founder member of the group and came up with the name RIP RIG AND PANIC -in conversation talking about life in music & art with David Eastaugh Rip Rig + Panic was formed in 1980 naming their newly founded project after the 1965 Roland Kirk album of the same name, the duo preferred to explore their free jazz and reggae roots in contrast to their former band's avant-garde and political leanings. Pianist Mark Springer, who had performed live with The Pop Group, began collaborating with the duo by playing keyboards and occasionally providing vocals during live shows. Eventually, vocalist Neneh Cherry joined followed by bassist Sean Oliver. This line-up released the single "Go! Go! Go! This Is It"/"The Ultimate in Fun (Is Going to the Disco with My Baby)" on 13 August 1981, with Gavin Martin of NME saying "Rip Rig and Panic tread a fine line between undisciplined wasted and ingenious commercial aplomb." The band's debut album, God, was released on 3 September 1981 by Virgin Records. It fused free jazz and free improvisation with post-punk, funk and reggae music. The music received high marks from NME for their viruoso playing and esoteric sense of humor, with the review calling it "an act of faith in tumult."[6] The single "Bob Hope Takes Risks" followed on 27 November. For their second album, I Am Cold, the band adopted a more commercial approach in their sound while further embracing jazz and world music influences. The album was recorded with the help of vocalist Andi Oliver and jazz trumpeter Don Cherry. The band made a guest appearance in an episode of the British sitcom The Young Ones performing their 1982 single "You're My Kind of Climate". 1983's Attitude was the band's final and most accessible album, supported by the singles "Beat the Beast" and "Do the Tightrope".

This week on IAQ Radio we discuss a topic that gets blood pressure up among some in the restoration world. Third Party Administrators TPAs are a fact of life today in many industries and RIA has been helping their members make the adjustments necessary. This week we welcome two widely respected restoration professionals to IAQ Radio. Mark Springer and Phill Rosebrook are both RIA members and were speakers at the recent RIA Strictly TPAs Fall Conference. We look forward to having them join us along with frequent contributor Pete Consigl. Mark Springer If you know Mark Springer, you probably know when the platitude, How are you doing? comes up in conversation, his likely answer is, Living the dream! Thats because its true. Mark has been married to his high school sweetheart, Angie for 20 years and they have been blessed with five beautiful daughters who, fortunately for Mark, take after their mother. Living in Montana accentuates the dream as he is able to pursue doing things he loves like downhill skiing, bow hunting, competitive shooting, and the mountains in general. Its not all hobbies though, Mark also gets to work all over the great state of Montana helping people who have experienced disasters, primarily from fires and floods. He is the President of Dayspring Restoration, a company that specializes in disaster restoration. Dayspring has 6 locations and about 100 team members. Mark has become a mini, (emphasis on ¢??mini¢??) celebrity in Montana due to several television advertising campaigns where he flooded and burned his house and then demonstrated to the community the restoration process, (these videos can be viewed at www.calldayspring.com). Giving back to his community and his industry has always been a priority for Mark as he serves on numerous non-profit and trade association committees and boards Phillip Rosebrook Jr., Cr. Phillip is a graduate of the University of Oregons Lundquist School of Business. He worked his way through college in the family restoration business. He filled most all roles in the company including working on the cleaning crew, carpet cleaning, water damage emergency services, and other various restoration and construction related services. He ran the retail and wholesale carpet cleaning division managing several employees and coordinating the installation crews. After college Phillip managed the water damage division and scheduled all company production crews. He managed the branch office in Coos Bay, Oregon and served the Southern Oregon Coast region. The office was in a very rural area of the state with a small population yet the office grew from $300,000 in annual sales to over $1,000,000 under his management. In managing this office he filled every role from Estimator to Marketing Manager. After training the new Manager Phillip returned to the main office with oversight of all branch offices. He served as the Education Committee representative for the Western Chapter of Disaster Kleenup International. In 1997 when the company sold, Phillip moved to Fort Collins, Colorado to assist in opening a new office for Rocky Mountain Catastrophe. He was in charge of training the new manager, developing the marketing campaign, implementing systems and procedures and training the water damage and cleaning staff. The office quickly grew to over $300,000 in monthly sales. Phillip joined his father as a Partner in Business Mentors in March of 1998. He specializes in implementing change in restoration companies. He works with the individual managers, key employees and sometimes even the field staff to implement new systems and procedures. He developed the Operations Manual and Personnel Manual that is utilized in all of Business Mentors consulting. Church Militant is responsible for the content of this commentary. TRANSCRIPT Sometimes, in these crazy days in the Church, a story happens that really disturbs, shocks and is revealing of the chaos — all at the same time. One such story occurred this weekend here in the archdiocese of Detroit (but really has been unfolding over the course of decades; it just became public this weekend). In short, a deacon in a suburban parish, St. Anastasia, Dcn. Mark Springer, was invalidly baptizing people from 1986 until 1999 — 13 years! Doctrinally and theologically, that means anyone baptized by him was not able to validly receive any of the other sacraments over the course of their lives because baptism is required for any other sacraments that follow. And that includes ordination to the priesthood. So when Fr. Matthew Hood happened to be watching some old family videos of his baptism, he noticed the deacon did not use the correct words (which means he himself had not been validly baptized). This means he had not validly received any of the other sacraments either — including being ordained to the priesthood. This means most of the sacraments he performed after his non-ordination were also invalid (his Masses, his absolutions in confession and so forth). Father Hood did the right thing immediately. He contacted the archdiocese, told them all about it and his situation was rectified. He was validly baptized, made his first Holy Communion, was confirmed, ordained a deacon and then a priest. He is good to go. But between Fr. Hood (who had been non-ordained about three years ago) and the scurrilous Dcn. Mark Springer (who took it upon himself to simply change the words because he liked them better), the number of souls in this archdiocese who were impacted for decades — and still are — is too difficult to calculate. Invalid marriages, confessions, Masses, last rites and so forth: It's beyond staggering. It is so bad that Detroit archbishop Allen Vigneron had to issue a public statement admitting the tragedy. In it, he names the deacon and the parish (St. Anatasia). He also names the affected parishes where the young and innocent Fr. Hood had been present in his early non-priesthood years, blessedly shortened only by his viewing of an old family video. Vigneron even had to release a much lengthier note to his own clergy — and even had a conference call with all of them yesterday to answer their many questions. See, the knock-on effect of this is huge. There's simply no reasonable way to discover how many people are impacted and still continue to be. To his credit, Vigneron is making the shameful incident public to alert people so that if they are touched by this, they can rectify their own situations. If it happened in Detroit, why couldn't it happen elsewhere? Precisely what the faithful do not need to hear right now is that an archdiocese can't keep guard over renegade ministers of the sacraments. This situation went on for 13 years and raises a truckload of questions. Was Springer the only deacon in the archdiocese so horribly trained in seminary that he felt he could freelance his way through sacraments? What about any of the priests likewise trained? How far back did the poor training go? Are there any other invalidly ordained priests in Detroit not confecting the Eucharist, not actually absolving sins in confession, perhaps not validly witnessing marriages and not actually administering last rites? The story actually resulted in a very sad social media meme demonstrating the depth of the scandal for the faithful: A dying Catholic asks a priest for proof of his valid ordination before administering last rites. Many things we cover here at Church Militant (as you know) also have another aspect to them. And when it comes to bishops and their chancery staff, they cover up the even-more-disturbing parts. Here's the part neither Vigneron nor his staff are telling you about this. Remember, the statement to both the other clergy and the public makes it appear as though this all came to light when now-validly-ordained Fr. Hood was watching an old family video. That's only partially true. That is when it came to light for him. But the archdiocese had known about this for years before Fr. Hood approached them. How does Church Militant know this? Because around 2006 or 2007, we received a phone call from someone who we considered an extremely reliable source. It turns out they were more spot-on than even we knew at the time. They told us — in short — that there were various discussions going on at the chancery that they had heard about (but not been privy to themselves, directly) that invalid baptisms were being performed in a suburban parish. They didn't know who the chancery officials were who knew; nor did they know what parish (and possibly parishes); nor did they know if it was a deacon or priest. But they knew the overriding story. Church Militant tried to discover more, but with just that little bit of very general information (and, of course, a chancery which covers up with the best of them), there was nowhere else to go to verify it. Bottom line: This scandal was known by at least some chancery officials years ago — at least as far back as the 2006–2007 timeframe, and perhaps longer. Nothing was done. As far as anyone knows, this goes back at least three archbishops, and there's no way — it's simply not possible — that tens of thousands of souls have not been adversely affected. We're talking about something going on 35 years here. Thirty-five years for an archdiocese to figure out how to simply lock down the sacraments so the faithful have a certain assurance. They can't even guarantee the proper administration of the sacraments. Then there's the even-more-disturbing fact that some people in the chancery covered all this up for years. In fact, the proof is in the pudding because, had Fr. Hood not come forward and created a "public" moment, the faithful still would not know what some in the chancery had been keeping under wraps for years. We don't know who the personnel were who knew about this — and neither does the archbishop — who while, yes, doing the right thing in a limited and narrow way, has made no mention one way or the other of any internal investigation as to how the calamity occurred. Are the faithful not owed that much? It's being painted as a kind of singular, renegade deacon. But we have no idea if that's the case. In fact, why would it be? Given the gay-porn-video-viewing nights that were official every Wednesday evening in the seminary here in Detroit — yes you heard that correctly — gay porn, once a week, mandatory as part of a so-called human-sexuality class, it stands to reason (with satanic filth going on in the training) that Dcn. Springer is not some isolated case. Given that chancery personnel would cover this up for at least a decade, it seems more likely that there are others. Here's the reality: many of the priests around the country as well as here in Detroit were poorly formed — malformed actually — in seminary over the course of decades. Detroit was a leading force in all this but was by no means alone in churning out bad clerics — some of whom are now actual bishops. Heck, we even need to ask if some of these men are actual bishops. Yes, because this is that serious and far-reaching. They can't even guarantee the proper (meaning "valid") administration of the sacraments. Think about that for a moment. Why and how has it gotten this bad? That, sadly, is an easy answer, because as we've been saying for many years here at Church Militant, many of the men wearing miters and collars do not believe the Faith. There is a dimension to this whole sordid mess of it being a combination of innocence and ignorance on the part of many involved — Fr. Hood not the least. That also includes the thousands — tens of thousands (who knows really, except God Himself?) — of those who thought they were receiving the sacraments validly and did not. Of course, God does not hold that against them. He is bound to the sacraments, not by the sacraments. But underlying the dynamic of ignorance and innocence, there is also the dynamic of malfeasance and wickedness, of horrible training, of cover-up, of losing the further trust of the faithful. Where is the investigation into how this could happen in the first place? Which chancery personnel knew of it? How many other men ordained to the priesthood or diaconate also received invalid orders? Where is that investigation? We're talking about the sacraments here! And what of the doubts now placed in the minds of the faithful — their expanding concerns as they think more about all this? All of that has been placed there precisely by a renegade faculty at the seminary and scoundrel clergy at the chancery. There are evil, malicious people (clergy) in this diocese and Vigneron allows them to remain in place. However He carries that out, God provides for the faithful, certainly. But that does not let the crooked clergy here off the hook. Once again, the faithful have been lied to and deceived; fed double-dealing, misleading, incomplete information. Vigneron did the right thing but has not completed what he needs to do; he needs to root all this out — meaning the individuals who knew about this and whatever priests are among them need to be excommunicated and defrocked. He needs to find out who was on the seminary staff and faculty in those days (which, by the way, includes him) and get to the bottom of everything. It's not enough — nowhere near enough — to merely correct Fr. Hood's situation and put out an "APB" for anyone else who might be impacted. That's just for starters. There are evil, malicious people (clergy) in this diocese and Vigneron allows them to remain in place. He's only got a couple of years and a few months left, and he should spend the rest of his time here rooting all this out, not persecuting Fr. Edward Perrone based on testimony from a pack of lies from a sheriff's deputy and Msgr. Michael Bugarin. He should also stop pushing his infantile, Protestant "ALPHA" program as some cure-all for evangelization problems in the archdiocese. Evangelization? Seriously? You have a deacon (and who knows how many others) invalidly administering the sacraments, and it's been going on for so long that it's become generational. As far as we know, Vigneron knew nothing about this, but that's just as far as we know. We do know he knows that he has many unfaithful clergy — pro-gay, pro-contraception, anti-Church-teaching and so on (the whole usual gamut). He lets these men stay in place, administering the sacraments (although perhaps not validly, no one really knows), preaching Sunday after Sunday, perverting the minds of the faithful. Allowing sacrilegious Holy Communions non-stop, not instructing his priests to tell people not to approach if they are in a state of serious sin. The list goes on and on. And, of course, the question arises elsewhere: If it happened in Detroit, why couldn't it happen elsewhere? In the rush to destroy the Church by this modernist crowd, they didn't even pretend to do things right. Some people — some clergy in that chancery — knew what was going on, let it happen anyway and let it continue to happen. In 2009, when Timothy Dolan was elected head of the U.S. bishops, he responded to a question asked by a reporter about what he might change in the conference. He gave one of the most brain-dead, politically correct answers in the annals of the Church (either brain-dead or a flat-out lie). He said he didn't intend to change anything. "It's not like there's a crisis," he said with a straight face. The U.S. hierarchy is a joke. They are sex abuse cover artists; malformers of seminarians; liars to the faithful; thieves; weak, emasculated men; and now, add to the list men who can't even perform the most basic task their office demands of them — the proper administration of the sacraments. Yep, there's no crisis. But thankfully, as Bp. Barron keeps reminding us all, good thing we have a reasonable hope that all men are saved. Whatever.
