Wanna know the difference between an MD vs DO? Doctors of osteopathic medicine (DO) and doctors of medicine (MD) are two types of accredited doctor that can practice medical care in the United States. The differences between MDs and DOs are often subtle. MDs generally focus on treating specific conditions with medication. DOs, on the other hand, tend to focus on whole-body healing, with or without traditional medication. They generally have a stronger holistic approach and have been trained with additional hours of hands-on techniques. Today we had Dr. Sherri Tenpenny on the show to talk about vaccines in general. If you're interested in listening to all of our shows on vaccinations feel free to click the link at the top of this page to search more info about vaccines. Think about all the supposed killer diseases we have vaccines for... flu shot, mumps, measles, mmr, yellow fever, typhoid, hepatitis, travel, polio, flu, tetanus, pneumonia, vermicelli, dpt, tdap, rubella, malaria, hep b, encephalitis and dozens of others. And to think that each one of these infectious disease that we need to be immunized for, has not just multiple rounds of injections but dozens of different toxic chemicals per injection. Here's what I want to know, has the pharmaceutical industry tested every ingredient that are in vaccines at every level? Has the medical industry tested every compound with every other compound in every single combination....at every different level? Once they've done all that research (ideally that research should span at least 50 years) have they tested their vaccinations on all types of people? That would include, young, old, different races, men, women, sick, healthy and the list goes on. Once the vaccine industry has done double blind placebo controlled studies for 50 or more years on hundreds of thousands of people from all walks of life.....then I'll consider getting injected with heavy metals directly into my blood stream. The operative word is "consider" and I can already tell you, the answer would be no because vaccines don't create immunity, only a strong immune system can. And how does injecting chemicals into your blood and muscle tissue create powerful immunity? It can't. So Dr. Sherri Tenpenny and I discussed her work and some recent findings about how "it's possible" the vaccine industry (make no mistake...it is a for profit industry) might start weaving the need to be vaccinated in with your ability to drive a car or get a credit card. Can you imagine? The book we mentioned during the show is called Dissolving Illusions: Disease, Vaccines, and The Forgotten History. http://www.nvicadvocacy.org So we had a good talk about vaccines in general and her work helping to educate people with regards to getting these types of injections that are supposed to create immunity. Cindy, FNP and Dr. Sean McCloy examine the different approaches between allopathic and functional healthcare. Finding "why" an illness is occurring is the basic philosophy of a functional approach. Today, more than ever, people are interested in making alternative care choices rather than taking prescription medications. By educating patients on the root of their illness, they can begin to understand why they are suffering and how they can be an active participant in their healing process. Get more Lyme resources at: https://livingwithlyme.us/  Join our Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/Livingwithlyme.us  Check out Pursue Wellness: https://pursuewellness.us/  ABOUT THE GUEST: Sean McCloy, MD, MPH, MA received his Medical Degree from New York Medical College. He completed his Family Medicine residency training at Maine Medical Center in Portland. He is a board-certified Diplomate in both Family Medicine and Holistic Medicine. He received his Master of Public Health (specializing in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention) from Boston University School of Public Health and his Master of Arts in Medical Sciences from Boston University School of Medicine. He is certified in Chelation Therapy from the American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM). Besides offering Holistic Family Medicine, Dr. McCloy specializes in Intravenous Vitamin Therapies, Heavy Metal Detoxification, Functional and Nutritional Medicine, and Bioidentical Hormone Replacement. He also uses Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine in his treatment approaches. He sees all ages of patients, from newborns to geriatrics. By restoring balance to his patients, he lets their bodies, minds, and spirits heal themselves. Instead of using medicines to cover up symptoms, Dr. McCloy hunts for the roots of an illness. After treating these root causes his patients often find they can stop taking their pharmaceutical medications. In addition to enjoying his work, Sean McCloy loves going on outdoor adventures with his family, preparing gourmet vegetarian feasts, making music with his friends, playing ultimate frisbee and squash, furniture building, and exploring Maine. SHOW NOTES: What is root cause medicine? Why is there such a difference between allopathic and functional approaches? Is the Gut the number 1 place to go? Are people all different? What are the biggest contributors to poor health? How often do you find that environment as well as environmental issues are at play? Chronic health issues and the need to keep searching. OMM is a pure expression of my artistry. I want to push the limits of my own creativity in terms of healing others. Introduction As a recent graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM),  our next guest, Dr. Alex King, expresses how his passion of art has worked synergistically with his work healing patients utilizing osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM). In the interview, Dr. King describes how his mother noticed an aptitude  for art from a very young age. He was encouraged to draw illustrations of what he saw in his imagination, including the monsters he saw in his dreams as a child. This skill has ultimately enhanced Alex's ability to be a better physician. As Dr.  King states, "I think the creative process and being comfortable in the unknown helps me think out problems and see things outside of the box." Despite Dr. King's pursuits in his medical career, he continues to run his website displaying artwork and blog posts. Click here to become grasped by his captivating pieces and learn from his posts on topics such as Osteopathic Medicine, the Mind, Body, and Spirit, and more. In this weeks podcast, we shall take a stroll with Dr. King upon his entry into the world of medicine. We will discuss, not only how art influenced his passion for healing, but the basics on what OMM is. We also will learn about his experiences with patients while attending PCOM and his use of OMM. Please enjoy the episode and don't forget to stop by jaewonking.com to support his work. *** Join The Happy Doc Team! Facebook       Instagram      Twitter Link Link *** Sample of the conversation: A mom who saw and encouraged the gift I actually had this fascination with monsters, so I would draw all of these monsters that were in my imagination, or that I thought were hiding under my bed or in my closet, I guess it was to come to terms with monsters maybe existing. And she [Dr. King's mom] thought that was very interesting and encouraged me to draw more of them, and draw other things like her, my dad, or draw whatever I was thinking about. That really allowed me to connect with my imagination and creativity. Really, she was the one who bought me all the art materials I wanted, and really thought that I had a talent there. I'll always be appreciative for that. How has art influenced your work in medicine and being a student? So I really think the creative process and being comfortable in the unknown really helps me to think out problems and think outside of the box, because in medicine a lot of times, things are very algorithmic and very calculated and (I'm comfortable with that of course) but I'm also very comfortable in exploring what's not being seen or what is not yet discovered. So, that is kind of the exciting realm for me. Artistry and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine? What's exciting for me is actually exploring the actual manual skill in terms of what I'll be going into. OMM is just a pure expression of my artistry, just in another way.  So that's ultimately why I chose to pursue the route that I'm going, and of course in medicine, labs will provide it's own role in my work. However, I want to push the limits of my own creativity in terms of healing others and see where that goes from there. For more of the conversation, listen to the audio!
