Xbox didn't miss a beat to kick off the new year. In a scratch pad by Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella, he spoke to how we need to accept AI as slop versus sophistication. As one would imagine, this had the adverse effect as "Microslop" began trending all over social media. The timing could be better as the rise of AI datacenters have caused a massive spikes in hardware prices. So much so that there are now reports that both Xbox and PlayStation may delay their upcoming hardware as a result. The question now becomes if a delayed Xbox system ever sees the light of day since it feels like 2027's new hardware was to be an offramp and the benefit of plans already being in motion. Time would tell, but for now, let's eat some "slop." We start with new reports claiming The Witcher 3 is set to receive a brand-new paid DLC in May 2026, which could serve as the official kickoff for The Witcher 4's marketing campaign, currently expected to launch in Q4 2027. We discuss what a return to The Witcher 3 means nearly a decade later and whether this strategy benefits CD Projekt RED. Next, we dive into a newly discovered Sony patent for an AI-powered in-game assistant, designed to help players overcome challenges — or potentially complete sections of games for them. We debate the implications for accessibility, player agency, and the future of game design. We also cover reports that MachineGames is working on Wolfenstein 3, alongside a Rainbow Six Siege–style multiplayer project, as well as claims that StarCraft shooters and Fallout remakes may be in development at Xbox. Plus, we analyze the latest GTA 6 update from Jason Schreier, including why the game is reportedly not content-complete, what that means for its release window, and why PlayStation is said to be the primary platform anchoring Sony's future lineup. To close out the show, we tackle a big industry question: How do we fix the modern video game industry? From budgets and studio size to jobs, AI, leadership, and sustainability, we discuss what needs to change — and what's already working. We also hit Flash News, including PlayStation's new Hyperpop PS5 accessory collection and the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for January, before wrapping up with Whatcha Been Playin'?

In this solo episode of the American Dream Factory podcast, Nick Smoot explores a simple but powerful idea that keeps people stuck. Waiting.Waiting for permission.Waiting for perfection.Waiting for someone else to go first.Nick shares a personal story about solving a ridiculous traffic problem with a bucket of yellow paint and a little courage, and how that small act quietly changed behavior for hundreds of people and eventually the city itself. This episode is a reminder that cities do not change because of committees alone. They change when ordinary people take responsibility for the problems they see and act on them.If you feel lonely, disconnected, or frustrated with your city, this conversation is for you.Why waiting for permission keeps cities stagnantHow perfection becomes an excuse to avoid meaningful actionA real story of grassroots problem-solving that actually workedWhy no one will ever invite you to build the world you seeTaking responsibility for the chaos you notice around youCreating beauty, value, and order through small actionsWhy community begins with initiative, not authorityYou do not need permission to care about your city. You do not need perfection to get started. The gap between the life you want and the impact you could have is often one small action.Nick also shares how Build helps people take action together. On this episode of the HOZ Comedy Podcast with Joey, the boys start off cold, (literally) with a chilly weather report before quickly warming up into a wide-ranging conversation packed with laughs, nostalgia, and off-the-rails commentary. The crew dives into current headlines involving Jake Paul, tragedies in the news, and Nigeria's travel ban, balancing real-world topics with humor and perspective. From there, the conversation shifts into childhood memories, debating Real IDs, holding flashlights for parents, first smoking experiences, and the origin story behind Hondo's nickname. Nostalgia hits hard as the crew reminisces about classic gaming systems like Xbox, PlayStation, and Dreamcast, before dreaming up casting ideas for the upcoming Street Fighter movie. The back half of the episode takes a fun detour into horror memories—from The Exorcist fears to wild Gremlins theories—before wrapping things up with heartfelt talk about animal adoption and encouraging listeners to support the show. It's a perfect mix of comedy, culture, and chaos.

After 2025, it's safe to say the years of saying "next year is their year" are over for Xbox. When it comes to the prior 24 months, it has not gone according to the Duke's plans whatsoever. With that in mind, we have dared to look ahead in spite of all of that. The games, the unimaginable business decisions, and yes, even hardware. What is in store for this brand next year? Tons of surprises, no doubt, but just how many? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
We're back to start the new year with the second and final installment of our ranking of startup sounds. To close out the tier list we consider later consoles like the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, more recent Windowses that we didn't even realize had startup sounds, most of the handhelds from Nintendo and Sony, and even some offbeat entries like Analogue's FPGA consoles and older operating systems like BeOS and OS/2. It's an aural extravaganza! The final tier list: https://tiny.cc/tp320-sounds Support the Pod! I am said host, Jesse DeRosa, and on today's episode we'll be taking a look ahead at the year ahead, 2026, and map out what Xbox's plans are for it. Jessica and her fiancé moved into their new apartment, they found a marble tombstone in a filthy upstairs unit with the name of someone who had died just months earlier. Despite the eerie discovery, they moved in, but soon experienced strange occurrences—flickering lights, shadows, and her cat acting like it was being petted by an invisible presence. The weirdness escalated when her fiancé's Xbox turned on by itself, right after Jessica expressed her concerns aloud. Then, the same tombstone mysteriously appeared on their balcony, and a quick search revealed a real person had died in a police chase, matching the name on the stone. #hauntedapartment #trueghoststory #paranormalpodcast #poltergeistactivity #shadowpeople #hauntedobjects #unexplainedphenomena #realparanormal #ghostencounter #thingsgoingbump Love real ghost stories? Xbox has seen a lot of changes in the last two years and that's putting it lightly. Everything from a disconnect with their own base to price hikes galore has led to a near complete disenfranchisement with the brand. Today, the Dukes gather and do their best to scrounge up the positives in a relatively down year. What shined so brightly in 2025 for Xbox? Well, I'm glad you asked...
