This is a Full Pisces Moon at 15 degrees tightly conjoined to the North Node at 18 degrees and forming a harmonious trine to expansive Jupiter at 19 degrees Cancer! The overwhelm is real - but so is the magic. As taskmaster Saturn is now retrograding back into Pisces, the urgent forward momentum has morphed into nostalgia for more peaceful times. The 'pedal to the metal' of Saturn in Aries has taken the foot off the gas for the time being, at least until Saturn re-enters the fire sign in February 2026.At this Lunar Eclipse, we may find a cathartic emotional release, an extreme desire for escapism or a liberating letting go. To add to the energy of liberation, Uranus, the planet of the unexpected, stations retrograde in Gemini the day before the Lunar Eclipse, which is sure to bring surprises and perhaps some shocking news.I delve into the Pisces Lunar Eclipse with astrologer Celeste Brooks who I love to chat about how the headlines reflect the astrology. Why Our Birds Need Extra Attention at this Time of Year When do our birds require the utmost care and consideration? The answer is during the molt. This crucial period is marked by significant stress as birds undergo a complex process of feather renewal, muscle replenishment, and bone repair. Both cocks and hens experience this challenging phase, making it an essential aspect of their overall health. While many view molting as a negative phase, it actually presents an opportunity for improvement. As a breeder, it's vital to understand how to navigate the molt effectively and use it to your advantage. A common pitfall for breeders is failing to grasp the nuances of the molt, which can hinder efforts to create, improve, and maintain a robust strain. Proper management of the molt is crucial; neglecting this process can significantly impact the upcoming breeding season and the quality of offspring. Join us as we delve into the intricacies of the molting season and explore strategies for achieving optimal results. Make sure to follow and watch our future shows. We plan to dive deep into the world of breeding and genetics, nutrition and health management, and provide essential tips, so you too can create high quality strains. Whether you're breeding domestic chickens, gamefowl, or various types of livestock, this show is for you. Join us on Bred to Perfection Live, Friday's at 6pm PST or 9pm EST on YouTube, as we discuss the benefits of creating your own strain. See ya there! Kenny Troiano Founder of "The Breeders Academy" We specialize in breeding, and breeding related topics. This includes proper selection practices and the use of proven breeding programs. In this conversation, Marshall and Nick discuss various topics including their drink choices, car shows, preferences for cars and appliances, and the crossover between different car brands. They also touch on the importance of quality and the changing landscape of car shows. The conversation concludes with a discussion about the size and practicality of mid-sized SUVs compared to luxury sedans. The conversation covers various topics related to the detailing industry, including the preference for sedans, the profitability of different services, the pricing and challenges of PPF, the use of wheel coatings, and the importance of staying focused on core processes. The hosts discuss the need for high-level shops to address pricing issues in the PPF business and the potential impact on the industry. They also emphasize the importance of knowing what makes the most money in your business and staying true to your expertise. The conversation concludes with a discussion on the HyperClean Specialist Facebook group and the value of community in sharing experiences and knowledge. Takeaways Car shows have evolved and now feature a diverse range of cars, making them more interesting and appealing to a wider audience. Appliances, such as ovens and refrigerators, can last a long time if properly maintained, despite the perception that they don't make them like they used to. The crossover between different car brands allows for more options and variety for consumers, but it also raises questions about brand identity and uniqueness. Mid-sized SUVs may not always provide enough space and practicality for growing families, and luxury sedans can offer a more comfortable and spacious alternative. There is a preference for sedans among certain customers, and some individuals remain loyal to sedans despite other options. Profitability per service is an important consideration, and different services have different profit margins. The pricing of PPF has become a contentious issue, with some high-level shops questioning the practices of film companies. Staying focused on core processes and knowing what makes the most money in your business is crucial for success. The HyperClean Specialist Facebook group provides a valuable community for detailers to share experiences and knowledge. Male circumcision raises ethical questions and challenges the concept of bodily autonomy.Cultural programming and societal norms influence people's perspectives on circumcision.Men need to shift their perspective and see circumcision as something that happened to them, not as an immutable part of their identity.Uncomfortable conversations and conflict resolution are important skills to develop in relationships.Parents should consider their values and the impact of their decisions on their child's bodily autonomy.Proper care for intact genitals is simple and does not require any special procedures. Please feel free to reach out to us with any recommendations for show episode ideas. We had the unique opportunity to interview Dr. Mel Koelling, a seasoned expert in the Christmas tree industry. With Christmas season on the horizon, there is no better time to learn about the fascinating world of Christmas tree farming and interesting stories.About Dr. Mel Koelling and Tannenbaum FarmsMel and his wife, Lori, have been growing thousands of trees annually at Tannenbaum Farms in Central Michigan. With over three decades of experience in the Department of Forestry at Michigan State University, Mel's expertise is nationally acknowledged in the Christmas tree industry. His passion for the industry transpired in 1977 when he purchased land, initially as an extension of his professional interest and to establish a college fund for his children.Today, their plantings spread over almost 100 acres of their 180-acre farm. Every year, season after season, they strive to perfect the art and subdue the challenges of growing Christmas trees. The History and Tradition of Christmas TreesMel delves into the historical events and accounts which trace back to the use of greenery and conifers by ancient cultures, recognizing their unique properties that defy natural processes during winter. This appreciation for the constant green throughout the year carried through the centuries, evolving into celebratory and traditional uses, eventually establishing the beloved tradition of Christmas trees.Noteworthy was Martin Luther's fondness for fir trees. Luther, the famous monk known for his 95 Theses, is credited with one of the first observances of using a Christmas tree during the winter celebrations. The tradition gradually spread to other parts of Germany, the UK, and then to the shores of America, becoming an inherent symbol of Christmas.Experiences and Memories at Tannenbaum FarmsStorytelling is a significant part of the Christmas tree industry and Dr. Koelling shares many delightful narratives based on his years of growing and selling Christmas trees. The passion and joy of working in this industry as witnessed in his recounting of the family gathered to choose a perfect tree and the sense of satisfaction, he draws from contributing to their Christmas celebrations are truly noteworthy.Environmental Aspects of Christmas Tree FarmingWhen questioned about the supposedly negative environmental effects of Christmas tree farming, Dr. Koelling's perspective is both balanced and enlightening. While acknowledging the fuel and resources used in tree farming, he also points out the positive aspects such as soil conservation, supporting local economies, and enhancing wildlife landscapes. The Future of Real Christmas TreesMel is very optimistic about the future of real Christmas trees. He sees them as a lasting memory and a tradition that has endured through the ages. Outside of the economic advantages of the industry, he believes the "warm and fuzzy" moments that Christmas trees bring to homes during the holiday season will continue to make them an inherent part of the Christmas celebration. In conclusion, cultivating Christmas trees is both an art and a science that requires passion and dedication. It is a labor of love that aids in keeping a cherished tradition alive, whilst contributing positively to the environment and the local economy. Moreover, it creates precious memories for families across the world during the festive season, thus making it an industry of joy and giving. The National Christmas Tree Promotion BoardAn encore remix presentation Time Line00:00 Introduction to The Garden Question Podcast00:35 Meet the Host and the Christmas Season02:06 Exploring the History of Christmas Trees04:08 The Story of Martin Luther and the Christmas Tree05:47 The Spread of Christmas Tree Tradition in the U.S.07:30 Dr. Mel Koelling's Personal Christmas Tree Stories10:51 Dr. Mel Koelling's Journey into Forestry and Christmas Tree Farming16:53 The Evolution of the Christmas Tree Industry20:59 The Rise of Choose and Cut Christmas Tree Farms24:36 The National Christmas Tree Association and Promotion Board26:14 How to Select the Perfect Christmas Tree29:45 Proper Care for Your Christmas Tree31:29 Innovative Tools for Tree Watering32:12 Ideal Conditions for Displaying Your Tree32:43 Disposing of Your Tree After the Season34:33 The Reality of Christmas Tree Shortages35:08 Memorable Moments in the Tree Purchasing Process39:49 The Environmental Impact of Christmas Trees42:12 The Economic Contributions of Christmas Trees44:34 The Lifespan and Disposal of Artificial Trees48:59 Learning from Mistakes in Tree Growing52:06 The Future of Real Christmas Trees52:24 Creating Lasting Christmas Memories53:55 Conclusion and Thanks

Today we will be talking about things that come up in marriage that really make you realize you are on a different train of thought than your spouse. You are approaching something from a different perspective. You feel like you are in a more mature place than your spouse when it comes to spiritual or practical things or anything pertaining to life. Some questions we've had people ask is - What do I do if I share this conviction and I want our home to have a lot less media in it, but my husband comes home and he turns on and watches TV? What do I do if I don't see the value in video games, but my husband comes home and he grabs our 10 year old son to rush off to the basement and play their video games? How do I get my husband to stop drinking alcohol? How do I get my spouse to embrace this value system? Maybe you shared a value system when you first got married and now you're off in an area and you don't have the same vision anymore. From personal experience, what isn't going to work - nagging, disrespect and disapproval. If they don't truly share the same resolve or desire over something, you can't force that. We all have things like this in our marriage because the Lord is leading us all in different ways. With some people, the change comes sooner and maybe He uses us to infuse that fresh perspective into our spouse's life. As much as we are one, we have to fight for that unity as we are learning, growing and maturing at different paces all throughout life. Prayer is the number one thing. The Lord does the work! Every big thing in our marriage up to this point, we cared so much that we really had to pray a lot. The Lord always did the work in each of our hearts. We gave each other space and loved each other with an unconditional love in the meantime. We loved each other no matter what and this differing of opinion was not going to change that. The health or joy of our marriage and home isn't going to be changed if you don't agree with me on this issue. We have to give whatever it is to the Lord and have Him change our heart first and be able to let go of what this ideal is in our mind. My marriage is more important than this ideal. There is so much power in prayer!Books mentioned in video: - The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands by Dr. Laura Schlessinger - https://amzn.to/3lAfEWx- How to Win Friends & Influence People by Dale Carnegie - https://amzn.to/3IlV1pJ - Top 5 Tuesday Join our weekly email list to keep up to date with the highlights of what is going on in our family life. https://www.nowthatwereafamily.com/site/about - Looking for more Now That We're A Family resources? Today we are talking about Christian masculinity, Godly masculinity and Godly manhood - what it should and should not look like. Is there a template we can model our lives after as men or is it vague? Is it subjective? Is it to each his own? It wasn't until I started having sons that I really started caring about Christian masculinity and what that looked like. As time has gone on and I've wanted to put my finger on what leading my sons in a Godly way should look like, it's become more and more difficult to find role models or teaching that are both Biblically sound and practical. We need to realize what God has for men. What is the Godly standard? I have been going to the Proverbs recently and it has been so enlightening as to what God wants men to be. It was so empowering to see God's wisdom on display here in such practical way. All of the Proverbs are so good in regards to being a godly, masculine man, good husband, good church member, and a good father. Men of God love instruction. They love being taught. They love being given wisdom. They love learning. They love finding knowledge and seeking it as hidden treasures. Going to the Proverbs and seeing God's wisdom is so practical and applicable. This has been a huge blessing! I encourage you to go and start reading it today! -ElishaMentioned in this podcast: The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands by Laura Schlessinger - https://amzn.to/3IBZbdQ Episode 159: Why Every Christian Family Should Homeschool with Retired Navy Seal, Bill Rapier - https://www.nowthatwereafamily.com/podcasts/now-that-we-re-a-family-10/episodes/2147736914 Sign up for The Growth Initiative here - https://www.nowthatwereafamily.com/thegrowthinitiative Top 5 Tuesday: Join our weekly email list to keep up to date with the highlights of what is going on in our family life - https://www.nowthatwereafamily.com/site/about Looking for more Now That We're A Family resources?
