I truly believe that we are in the greatest shift in work since the industrial revolution. AI has completely changed the game and as coaches, mentors, and consultants, we have a choice: Stay ahead of the curve or be left behind. That's not at all to bring any sense of fear mongering because my perspective is that as we embrace AI in our businesses, we are saying yes to the opportunity to evolve and expand. In saying that, we do need to be intentional about how we go about it. Here are five key strategies to futureproof your business with AI in 2025 and beyond. 1. Incorporate AI ImperfectlyFor some, the concept of AI is overwhelming but let me assure you, perfection isn't necessary. AI is evolving rapidly and trying to build perfect systems could lead to constant and frustrating updates. Instead, focus on building your AI literacy, experimenting with different prompts and integrations and teaching your clients to do the same. This way, you can continue to adapt alongside advancements without becoming overwhelmed.2. Double Down on Your Uniquely Human EdgeWe all have access to the same information. Therefore, it's now more than ever that your emotional intelligence, intuition, and storytelling are your defining traits. This is where your personal brand gets to shine because humans crave connection with other humans. By honing your unique skills, you'll create meaningful relationships with your audience that AI simply cannot replace.3. Audit and Reinvent Your OffersIf your courses or programs are easily replicated by AI, it's time to reconsider what you have on offer. Double down on the things that AI can't replicate - those high-touch personalised services, community components, and unique insights. People are looking for that human connection within their purchases, so emphasise the human elements to remain indispensable.4. Position Yourself as a Guide, Not Just a GuruAI can dish out answers, sure. But, it can't walk with your clients through the nuances of implementation, mindset shifts, and personal challenges. As a guide, your role is more than just providing solutions; it's about supporting your clients with empathy and personalised insights on their journeys. 5. Get Curious, Not ThreatenedWith AI in the picture, it's easy to feel intimidated—but I encourage you to replace fear with curiosity. Ask how AI can simplify your work instead of fixating on what it might take from you. Futureproofing your business means embracing technology with optimism and recognising its potential to aid in expansion and abundance. The landscape is changing rapidly but instead of being scared of how that might impact your business, I hope this episode inspires you to think about how AI can help you grow and expand in ways that previously weren't possible. I'd love to hear your thoughts and what lands for you. In my podcast episode titled “Position Yourself on a Path of Peace,” I explored the profound reasons individuals might strive to find their rightful place in life where there is peace. Positioning oneself is not merely about physical location; it's about aligning your spirit and intentions with the divine guidance of God. When we anchor our focus on Him, we open ourselves to a world of possibilities, allowing His will to unfold. The problem lies when we enter a spiritual battle, and there is an offering of divine intervention; we accept it, and then we become unappreciative, citing it is not enough or that we don't like what was given. What does that say to the Most High God? Should you be helped again? With our gaze fixed on God, our journey often leads us toward three essential virtues: humility, gratitude, and peace. Humility involves recognizing our limitations and acknowledging that we are part of a greater plan that transcends our desires. Meanwhile, cultivating an attitude of appreciation which enables us to recognize the myriad of ways in which divine assistance manifests in our lives, from seemingly small moments of inspiration to significant interventions that steer us back on course. And then there is peace, which God gives us even in the storm. It is crucial to understand that without God's help, true peace remains elusive. Our lives can easily spiral out of alignment when we allow our flesh—our ego and base desires—to take the lead. We can easily end our own lives when we are unappreciative of the helping hand. By surrendering to God's guidance and focusing on His purpose for us, we can navigate life's challenges with grace, appreciating His divine intervention and ensuring we remain on a steady path toward lasting peace and fulfillment. The power of women's voices doesn't just relate to women who own and run their own businesses; it's also for women who work in corporate spaces. Building your personal brand and speaker brand separate from your corporate identity can give you a voice and mission that has a greater impact beyond the day-to-day work you do in your job. In this episode, our lead speaking coach Diane Diaz talks with one of our Thought Leader Academy clients, Sandy Robinson. Sandy works in revenue operations and she's carved a niche for herself by building a personal and speaker brand distinct from her corporate identity. Diane and Sandy talk about: How Sandy began her speaking journey (it's a fun story!) and how that has informed her speaking today Why she decided to look for a speaking coach and what led her to join the Thought Leader Academy What sparked her interest in sharing a more personal message with audiences and how and why she's building her personal and speaker brand separate from her corporate work Her experience and takeaways from the Thought Leader Academy and our in-person speaking retreat How she felt doing the improv exercises at the retreat and what she's going to do with that knowledge (hint: her sales teams might be surprised!) The way she's integrated a topic she's passionate about into her professional work to support other women and build her personal and speaker brand About Our Guest: Sandy Robinson is Senior Vice President of Revenue Operations and Enablement at Patra with over 20 years under her belt in making sales teams shine and operations run smoothly, thanks to her knack for turning numbers and innovative ideas into real growth. She's led Revenue Operations and Enablement at big-name SaaS companies including Web.com, SupplyFrame and Nymbus, steering them toward success and now plays a key role at Patra, where she's all about pushing boundaries and setting the stage for exciting new products. Building a strong personal brand can be a game changer for salespeople in technical companies. A strong personal brand establishes you as authoritative and credible and helps you stay top-of-mind with your key audience. I invited Chris Luecke, Founder and Podcast Host of Manufacturing Happy Hour on the podcast to share how he built his personal brand, how it benefited him as a salesperson, and how to get started.Chris was generous enough to share how he got started building his personal brand. It all started when he needed to reach a new audience of technical buyers in his role as an account manager selling industrial automation solutions and software. Chris needed a way to reach a new audience, including millennials who were starting to be promoted into decision making roles. He wanted to share his solutions in a simple, casual way like you would if you were out having a beer someone. The venture grew from campy videos he would store on YouTube and include in his personalized sales newsletter to popular LinkedIn videos that grew his reach and personal brand exponentially. In this episode we discuss the challenges B2B brands have with utilizing the personal brands of employees within the company including less control of brand standards and messaging, and use of standard marketing materials. Ultimately their is a strategy that includes merging company and personal brands together so everyone wins.We also discuss the fear and workarounds of getting in front of a camera and growing your audience if you're just starting out. Dr. Toni Cooper booked a marketing review with me to improve the visibility of her podcast and books, she is booked with clients, so the focus for her was on the books and the podcast. We sat down and talked about her business; she's a psychologist, author, speaker and podcast host. Toni is looking for more people to buy her books, sign up for her free ebook and listen to her podcast, so we started with her foundations and looked at what she was doing for marketing for both her podcast and books. The advice I gave her focused on 5 main areas. How can you accomplish what you want, from the small to the big? As we gear up for the new year, I'm sure there are things you have on your vision board and list of goals you want to achieve. There are practical, tangible steps you can take (the what and the how). There's also WHO you want to be, the identity you want to shift into, which is essential to aligning your actions to what you want, creating lasting change, and building self-confidence. My guest is Dr. Kim Foster, who recently graduated from our Thought Leader Academy. Kim was a practicing family doctor for nearly 20 years and a few years ago decided that she wanted to make a big change to become a wellness coach and entrepreneur. You'll be inspired by her story and her thought leadership message! Kim and I talk about: Her own identity shift from being a doctor to an entrepreneur What helped her to make that shift Her thought leadership message and framework that the WHO is as important as the what and the how to make lasting change How you can start thinking about your own identity Why she decided to join our Thought Leader Academy and what she got out of the experience This episode is part of our podcast series on thought leadership. About My Guest: Dr. Kim Foster is an M.D.-turned-coach and entrepreneur who inspires people around the world to live healthy, beautiful, vibrant lives by elevating whole-person wellness. After experiencing the frustrations and crushing limitations of the conventional healthcare system for many years, she began her journey into entrepreneurship as the founder of The Wellness Coach Academy. By training new health and wellness coaches through the Academy, she has helped others build their businesses, find freedom, and promote healthy, balanced living across the globe. Dr. Kim lives in beautiful Victoria, BC, Canada with her husband and their two boys. You can often find her practicing what she preaches: running by the North Pacific, spending family summers at her home in France, cooking up a pot of homemade soup, or curled up with a good book. Kim is the host of The Wellness Project podcast. About Us: The Speaking Your Brand podcast is hosted by Carol Cox.
