Jade Walle fills in for Ron Maiellaro who is on sick leave. Bob's first priority is a very scary income tax proposal that would give the government just way too much power over our financial lives. Then Bob and Jade discuss another "What would happen if..." scenario. And finally, Bob & Jade present the brand new FAIRtax Market Place in which FAIRtax supporters can support The Americans For Fair Taxation simply by making their purchases at the FAIRtax Market Place portal.

Then Bob continues yesterday's discussion (see Wrong about Augustine, Part 1.) about Christians teaching free will for the first 300 years of the church. Oxford professor of historical theology Alister McGrath, an Augustinian sympathizer, nonetheless admits that "The pre-Augustinian theological tradition is practically of one voice in asserting the freedom of the human will." And Marston and Forster in their classic God's Strategy in Human History show that early Christian leaders taught free will and rejected the heresy that denied genuine free will. Determinism was taught by the pagan Sumerians, Babylonians, Greeks, Gnostics, Neoplatonists, Stoics, etc., whereas genuine free will was taught in the first centuries of the church by Christian leaders in Alexandria, Antioch, Athens, Carthage, Jerusalem, Lycia, Nyssa, Rome, and Sicca. Some of the early Christian authors who taught genuine free will were Justin Martyr, Irenaeus of Gaul, Athenagoras of Athens, Theophilus of Antioch, Tatian of Syria, Clement of Alexandria, Bardaisan of Syria, Tertullian of Carthage, Origen, Novatian of Rome, Methodius of Olympus, Arnobius of Sicca, Cyril of Jerusalem, Gregory of Nyssa, John Chrysostom, and Jerome. * Compromised Incrementalism: Also on today's program, Bob does get to AmericanRTL.org/incrementalism while mentioning how we improved on the latest graphic from AHA's Russell Hunter that shows a pro-life elephant on a hampster wheel! * Related BEL Resources: In addition to the powerful information just above, we've also provided for our listeners... - Wrong about Augustine, Part 1 (this page) - Wrong about Augustine, Part 2 - kgov.com/leighton-1 with Soterioloty 101 asking "So, where did God's freedom go?" - kgov.com/leighton-2 for Pt. 2 of our 2018 interview with this great theologian - kgov.com/leighton-3 for Pt. 3 - kgov.com/300 for Christians Taught Free Will for their First 300 Years from Marston & Forster (the above program) - kgov.com/400 aka kgov.com/leighton-3 extends to a fourth century the falsification that Calvinists teach what the early church taught about whether the human will is truly free and an unbeliever has the ability to accept God's forgiveness - Luther and Calvin Wrong about Augustine Being Orthodox from 2019 - kgov.com/limited-atonement not believed in 318 A.D. - R.C. "upon men... He bestowed a grace which other creatures lacked—namely the impress of His own Image... themselves becoming reasonable [i.e., able to reason] and expressing the Mind of God even as He does, though in limited degree, they might continue for ever in the blessed and only true life of the saints in paradise [i.e., Eden]. But since the will of man could turn either way, God... laid upon them a single prohibition. If they guarded the grace and retained the loveliness of their original innocence, then the life of paradise should be theirs, without sorrow, pain or care... But if they went astray and became vile, throwing away their birthright of beauty, then they would come under the natural law of death and live no longer in paradise, but, dying outside of it, continue in death..." - Anthanasius, De Incarnatione Verbi Dei, Chap. 1, Sect. 3; 1943 translation * Luther Claimed God Predestined Men to Hell: Some teachers who claim that all things are predestined, including Martin Luther (think of Bondage of the Will, or better yet, this handy abridged BoW), argue disingenuously that man's will cannot be free because it is in "bondage" from sin. For these same teachers, typically, deny that Adam and Eve had the abiity to decide otherwise. Thus it is mostly a dodge, trying to make their theology appear less unreasonable, to claim that it is because of sin that we don't have actual libertarian free will when in reality these teachers also believe that before any sin whatsoever, Adam and Eve, along with the angels who left their first estate, had no actual ability to decide differently from what they ended up deciding. By the way, many authors, such as James Swan at Beggars All, try to insulate Luther from John Calvin's harshness. Bob Enyart replied to Swan at his blog post: When you quote Luther criticizing those who "worry in vain about whether they are predestinated", this in no way distances Luther from Calvin and so does not make your point. Hard Calvinists make the same criticism, and those who are not would immediately answer the concern, that for all those living, your standing before God depends only upon your willingness to accept His salvation. Martin Luther wrote in his Preface to the Epistle to the Romans: In chapters 9, 10, and 11, he [Paul] teaches concerning God's eternal predestination, from which it originally comes that one, believes or not, is rid of sin or not rid of it. Thus our becoming righteous is taken entirely out of our hands and put in the hand of God. And that is most highly necessary. ... God is certain, and His predestination cannot fail... - Luther Of course, Luther was wrong here. While the reformer taught "double predestination", Paul did not teach that God from eternity past predestined everyone either to salvation or damnation. If you have any doubt of this, we invite you to see Post 1A and Post 2A in Bob Enyart's Calvinism Debate with TNAR's president Dr. Larry Bray.
Bob Enyart mentions 1) the tweet from the inventor of the mRNA vaccine Dr. Robert Malone, "What happens to confidence in public health... if ivermectin turns out to be safe and effective for COVID and the genetic vaccines turn out to have significant safety issues? This looks like a very plausible scenario..." 2) How disgusting and criminal public broadcasting and children's television is for their vulgar promotion of homos directly to children, as seen by our latest bullet on our Big Ugly List of Liberals Promoting Pedophiles. 3) Bob goes ballistic talking about the (only) 3-percent drop in public school enrollment. Then Bob reads the nice letter from New Hampshire RTL to Colorado RTL and CRTL's reply back to them and to 35 other state RTL groups. Today's resource: God and the Death Penalty: In this video, see that: Jesus advocated the death penalty Paul, in court, endorsed execution The New Testament supports killing criminals "without mercy" In the New Testament God directs the government to strike the criminal with terror, wrath and vengeance without mercy. Watch in amazement as you see that Jesus commanded the death penalty! And the Apostle Paul said he did not object to capital punishment. Then see other Bible characters directly affirm the death penalty! The writings of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and Paul in the Gospels, Acts, Romans and Revelation defend execution as does the author of Hebrews. Crime thrives because the criminal's "sentence... is not executed speedily" says the Bible. Learn the history of execution and why God first utterly forbade, and then strictly commanded, execution. In this video, find out why the Bible begins and ends with capital punishment issues and why God put the death penalty at the heart of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The big dogs weren't a factor at DeLa but Adam had to earn it nonetheless. Let's look at how he was able to hold on and what it did to the chaser. (2:13) The FPO division also played. I found it completely uninteresting. Let me tell you why. (26:43) I walked a tournament round with a group of Intermediates last week. Oh, boy, was it interesting. Bob opens today immediately with the bad, very bad, really really bad, terrible news for the left with even former vice president Joe Biden reportedly being deeply saddened. Then Bob celebrates that we've hit the 50% mark on our telethon, having brought in $25,600 of our $50,000 goal! Soon enough though, joy turns to angst as we realized that we're still 49% of the way from our goal with only four days left. Yikes! So if you can, please give a one-time or monthly donation or subscribe to one of our resources or browse our store, with any gifts or purchases this month going toward our telethon. Then, Bob continues discussing BEL's top contributions and accomplishments found at kgov.com/about#contributions, discussing two of them, economics, and when we unfurled the world's largest protest sign condemning the DNC and Barack Obama for killing innocent children. Today's Resource: Focus on the Strategy Trilogy In Focus on the Strategy #1, using audio and video clips of Christian leaders, Bob Enyart presents seven lines of evidence that our national ministries have endorsed legal positivism, elevating man's rules and the Constitution above God, and giving them precedence above eternal laws such as Thou shall not murder. Focus on the Strategy #2 not only documents the political sell-out of the pro-life movement, it answers the question of how to restore the movement and end America's 'legalized' child killing. Focus II stands alone, preferably viewed before Focus #I, and documents that: Colorado's Republican Governor John Love signed the nation's first permissive abortion law in 1967. Republican U.S. Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmun wrote Roe v. Wade. The 7-to-2 Roe v. Wade ruling was approved with five a Republican majority of five votes. The Republican Justices now on the Court (including Scalia, Thomas, Alito and Roberts) oppose personhood. All six Republican judges on the 11th circuit (nominated by Reagan, Bush Sr. & George W. Bush) voted to kill Terri Schiavo. Republican "pro-life" heroine Priscilla Owen voted to abort "Baby 10" as a Texas Supreme Court judge. Republican "pro-life" hero Samuel Alito sided with Planned Parenthood in repeated 3rd-circuit rulings, including ruling to keep partial birth abortion legal. Republican George W. Bush refused to support South Dakota's total ban on abortion. Hundreds of pro-life laws that regulate abortion that will actually keep abortion legal after Roe is overturned such as the Informed Consent laws. In Focus on the Strategy #3 Bob Enyart presents the 3-pronged strategy to end abortion in America. Three-fold Strategy: 1. Criminalize: recriminalize the intentional killing of the unborn and other innocents through state and national personhood efforts. 2. Demoralize: create unbearable social tension and ensure that there is no child killing with tranquility in order to coerce the government to correct the injustice of shedding innocent blood. 3. Evangelize: persuade individuals by education and evangelism to honor the God-given right to life.
Bob opens with a few comments about all the businesses in D.C. burned down two weeks ago by the hundreds of thousands of Trump's Stop-the-Steal attendees who didn't go to the Capitol, and how that explains the 25,000 national guardsmen there today with nothing to do but stand in line for food. Then Bob concludes his Heretic Guy series that began on Monday based on a thread from a Mr. Cory Albright who called us heretics. And finally, you're invited to join Bob as the Colorado Right To Life annual March for Abolition this Saturday, Jan. 23 at 10 a.m. at Planned Parenthood 7155 E 38th Ave., Denver CO 80207. Bob Enyart announces that Dominion Voting nemesis/Sidney Powell hero Joe Oltmann will be on BEL this Wednesday, Lord willing! He's the successful Denver businessman who infiltrated Antifa and found there Eric Coomer, a vice president of Dominion Voting Systems. Bob also gives updates on his federal lawsuit against Colorado's governor's office's covid restrictions and on one of Powell's Georgia lawsuits in which federal judge Timothy Batten issued an order blocking the plans to wipe the Dominion voting machines used in three Georgia counties including Fulton. Then Bob shares the retracted report from the Johns Hopkins economist on US COVID deaths with the shocking lack of excess mortality. KGOV is making that disappeared report available right here! and the bizarre "explanation" for why it was disappeared is here. Today's Video Resource: Get out of the Matrix Bob takes on a college professor and her philosophy class in a debate regarding absolutes. Who wins? The students have been taught that nothing is absolutely right or wrong, so Bob asks them if that is absolutely right. And theyve been taught that they can only know that which their five senses have told them, so Bob asks them which of their five senses told them that. Is the lack of intellectualism in this college class representative of American higher education? You can decide as you view this video, one of Bobs most extraordinary presentations.
Wyman and Bob are joined by fellow host and former Seahawks QB Jake Heaps to get his thoughts on the Seahawks performance at Lumen Field last night. Pastor Bob and Pastor Joey Rhoad's lawsuit and fleeting injunction victory has been reported by dozens of outlets including CNN, Breitbart, LifeSiteNews, 7News, News 4 2nd, 1st, Telemundo Denver, Charisma News, Christian Headlines, 700 Club, Thomas More Society, the Washington Times. While many have thanked us many others have been critical and even, sadly but as expected, filthy. The 10th Circuit has temporarily issued an administrative STAY so until the case proceeds, legally, we're back where we were a few weeks ago except that now we have a win under our belt! Meanwhile, Bob ponders why in the world influenza cases globally have plummeted while COVID cases soar? Might the two phenomena be related? Then Bob airs audio from one of his geneticist heroes, Dr. John Sanford, inventor with his colleagues at Cornell University of the gene gun about John's newest book, The Sexual Holocaust. Today's Resource: The ACLU Debate Bob squares off against the Executive Director of the Colorado ACLU, Jim Joy in a televised debate on a Denver PBS station. Watch as joyless Jim hesitantly admits to the ACLUs support for the sale of child pornography. And which of the two opponents do you suppose will better know (or admit) the ACLUs own role regarding Jack "The Dripper" Kevorkian and his killing of sick people? Ultimately, the two men debate who is most qualified to govern, pagans, or biblical Christians. Another must see video!
This episode starts off on a somber note, when we pay tribute to legendary comic writer Dennis O'Neill. Then Bob cracks open an issue from one of his favorite pre-code titles from Charlton. BEL reports briefly on the alleged woman who mailed deadly poison to president Trump and then was arrested attempting to enter the U.S. from Canada to carry out a backup assassination plan. Then Bob reports on the evidence that one of the sons of the criminally-enriched Biden family spent many thousands of dollars on prostitutes and, as the evidence suggests, very possibly on Russian and Ukrainian nationals who are themselves victims of human trafficking. Bob also announced the email he received this morning from a University of California history professor affirming our Real Science Radio page at rsr.org/flat-earth#church-teaching debunking the absurd claim from atheists that the church taught the flat earth. Today's program begins with this morning's secretly-recorded audio when a local reporter interviewed Bob Enyart about the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Then Bob presents a lengthier segment of Amy Coney Barrett's 2016 discussion of how judicial philosophy may affect the court's ruling. Notice how she volunteers mention of "abortion rights" and the matter-of-fact bureaucratic efficiency Barrett brings to the discussion of the slaughter of the innocent. The program concludes with a brief excerpt out of Vincent Bugliosi's Outrage: The Five Reasons Why O. J. Simpson Got Away with Murder: "David Kennedy, professor of history at Stanford University, in writing about politicians, says: “With the possible exception of lawyers, we hold no other professionals in such contempt. Who among us can utter the word ‘politician’ without a sneer?” Conventional logic would seem to dictate, then, that since a judge is normally both a politician and a lawyer, people would have an opinion of them lower than a grasshopper’s belly. But on the contrary, a $25 black cotton robe elevates the denigrated lawyer-politician to a position of considerable honor and respect in our society, as if the garment itself miraculously imbued the person with qualities not previously possessed. ... This [elevation] ignores reality." See also kgov.com/republican-judicial-crisis and kgov.com/crime.

Anyone who says different is lying and without God. And may God have mercy on that person's rotten soul." Ouch. (Glad he's on our side. Healing and Spirituality in World Cultures with Robert Vetter
Bob describes 3 types of story used in healing: the traditional story from a particular culture connected to the theme of healing; a story about someone else's healing that lets us know healing is possible; and the story of one's own journey in life, which can be changed in the process of healing. Then Bob … Continue reading "Narrative Medicine: The Power of Story to Heal"
Yesterday's guest, Bevelyn of Chaz, was arrested again, this time for not wearing a mask, along with Edmee of Manhattan and Ken Scott of the Heavenlies. And Bob Enyart reports the important development that baby body parts are not being used in the $1.6 billion dollar U.S. coronavirus vaccine contract that just went to NOVAX, and that pharmaceutical giant Sanofi Pasteur has now discontinued using fetal tissue in the production of their polio vaccine. Then Bob continues his "train-up your mind" clear thinking segments using the atheist "Euthyphro's Dilemma" argument. Google ranks Bob's Christian reply #1 at kgov.com/euthyphro. Those producing vaccines immorally include Moderna and Johnson & Johnson which use fetal tissue. We strongly urge everyone to boycott vaccines developed using tissue harvested from aborted unborn children. (Remember, many institutions and celebrities who have been "pro-choice" all along are now also calling to legalize infanticide, what they call after-birth abortion.) Related: Recently, pharmaceutical giant Sanofi Pasteur discontinued using fetal tissue for its polio vaccine! While many parents have other vaccine concerns this development is an important step toward moral and socially sustainable medicine.* RSR's 25 Christian COVID Conspiracies: Bob presents a list of conspiracies vs. actual pandemic insights.* "Cases Spiking" Fake News through June & July: (July Update) All of the breathless national media reporting on "spikes" in cases through June and July are nothing but fake news when delivered without context. The mainstream media, and even Fox News and many on their network including Neil Cavuto, report "spikes" without putting that data within the needed context of increased testing and especially, the long-term steady reduction in deaths Today's Video Resource: Get out of the Matrix Bob takes on a college professor and her philosophy class in a debate regarding absolutes. Bob Enyart plugs tomorrow's interview with Bevelyn of Chaz, and our Pulitzer Prize for Fiction Russia collusion graphic (at kgov.com/russia), and reports on the efforts to tear down the pyramids and everything done in the name of kgov.com/racist-Darwin who wrote that white Europeans like him are most civilized and that blacks are closest to apes. Which is the last straw for the Democrats? As long as the former Soviet Union was only guilty of murdering millions of their own people (via democide), leftists had a warm place in their heart for Russia. Let them imagine though the Russians tilting one election, and their disapproval rages. Ironically, the actual Russia campaign collusion was when the DNC and Hillary Clinton paid millions for a foreign spy to collect anonymous Russian disinformation in hopes the dossier would interfere with the election. Then Bob tells us about the surprising resource he uses for injury adjustments. Finally, we discuss the conference championship games: Tennessee at Kansas City and Green Bay at San Francisco.
In this installment of the Be Better Bobcast, Bob discusses how everything in life is a choice. He explains that there is always a trade-off, an opportunity cost, for every decision. He talks about the common phrase "there is no such thing as a free lunch", and what that means. Then Bob gives his perspective on how to make the right trade-offs in life.
The ground-breaking "The Twilight Zone" television series turns 60 this year and to celebrate Fathom Events brought six episodes to the big screen. I went to the screening and recorded some audio on my way there and right after the showing. Then Bob and I spent some time talking about the show and the impact it had on us and to television and movies in general. "The Twilight Zone" is available to watch on Hulu and Netflix and probably other places like CBS All Access. If you're interested in learning more about the super weird and thought-provoking anime I mentioned seeing at the art house theater in Seattle check out "Angel's Egg" on YouTube and IMDB. There is very little dialog and some incredibly bleak and beautiful animation. Jeffrey Rogers Hummel joins Bob for an in-depth discussion of the economics of slavery, touching on subtleties such as the labor/leisure tradeoff, and the recent claims by some historians that slavery was efficient. Then Bob asks Hummel to explain the provocative claim in his book, that the Confederacy would have done much better militarily if it had used the same guerrilla warfare tactics that the American colonists had used against the British. It's a pretty simple case that I'm making; there isn't a good, objective reason to pick anyone other than Paul or Paige. I've got 4 criteria that I use to lay out why Paul(2:09) and Paige (29:34) will be writing 5x in about a week; despite the best efforts of Ricky and Cat. Then BOB is going to make some movie recommendations that I think you will enjoy that you may not have seen before. (46:07)
On this week's episode, Dave and Kris are joined by our friend, colleague, and returning guest Bob "MovieBob" Chipman! Kicking things off, Dave recaps Olivier Assayas's new film, NON-FICTION (4:10), which if nothing else, is certainly French. Then Bob fills us in on BRIGHTBURN (14:46), the alternate take on superhero origin stories that imagines a Clark Kent-like character as a sociopath and killer. It's essentially a B movie with a big budget and star power, but is interesting enough to seek out. Next up is Kris with Werner Herzog's MEETING GORBACHEV (23:07), which is exactly what it sounds like, and is exactly why you should go see it. Closing out this episode is Bob and Kris barely containing their excitement for GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS (39:41), a drastic improvement on its predecessor that impresses in several ways -- visuals, sound, just the right amount of lore, and putting the focus back on the monsters themselves.
It depends, this is the one I spoke to, he’s the director of Drugwise. Don’t get him confused with this one. And certainly not this one The one we want has written a couple of hit books about drugs and music and drugs and Hollywood. Then Bob talks to his 13 year old son Credence […]
How can you not be happy about GG winning? A great performance across the board and dodged the muddy, rainy bullet that got just about everyone else. Cat, on the other hand, was expected to win and did in, once again, a dominating fashion.(1:51) Let's head up the 101 to Portland and take a look at Blue Lake and the folks that have history there. (32:58) 3rd on the box is going to take a look at the question of "what are we hoping for?".(52:23) Then BOB, for the first time in a long time, actually has a serious question to pose. (1:08:11)

Then Bob explains some of the problems for the PTPT, especially for Austrian economists. Instead Murphy offers a much more straightforward–and Austrian!–approach, which explains interest as the premium placed on present vs. future units of money. Mentioned in the Episode and Other Links of Interest: Part 2 (https://www.bobmurphyshow.com/ep-28-capital-and-interest-in-the-austrian-tradition-part-2-of-3/) in this series (BMS ep. 26 and 28). Calvin looked in the eyes of the best golfers and stared them down. Wow. What an impressive win. Let's look at that as well as some other interesting things that happened in Vegas. The Memorial is up next and always a birdie, slug fest. Who do you think will come out on top? The DGPT commentary crews have been announced. What are your expectations? I'll lay out mine. Then Bob will ask us to draw some fine lines around some fine things.

He describes the new rifle scopes soon to be available and also the exciting new Vesta binoculars and spotting scopes.
Everything about this tournament was bonkers; the stacked field, the format, the final round, the island boundary. Let's talk about all of it. Now that the "season is over" let's give ear to the rumor mill to see about possible team changes. Then BOB will ask us to think about happier things and come up with a top 5 to argue about.
I'm saying that there are only 5 men and 2 women that can win this tournament, plus 2 dark horses. See if my reasoning holds up. As an added bonus, you can see what Ron Burgundy and Gracie Hart have in common. Then BOB is gonna remind you of something great and ask you to dream big.
Kathryn Guarini, vice president of IBM Industry Research, and Bob Sutor, vice president of IBM Q strategy and ecosystem for IBM Research, talk with Anthony about advancements that have been made in the quantum space and explore what might be ahead. 2:45 Bob starts off by explaining where we are today with quantum development, how we got here and what some of the next benchmarks might be. 6:00 With over 94,000 individuals having used IBM Q’s environment, Kathryn examines why people in the financial services industry are starting to get interested in the topic. 8:00 Bob provides what he believes is a realistic timeline for a commercial quantum computer. 11:15 Then Bob explains how providers in the quantum computing space are both working together and competing against one another, at the same time. 13:00 Kathryn points to Monte Carlo simulations and intraday analytics as being areas that could potentially be improved by a quantum computer. 15:45 While some have posited that quantum computing could potentially break a blockchain’s security measures, Bob thinks those predictions are unjustified. But, the industry does need to think about new ways to encrypt information. 22:00 Banks and asset managers already are coping with clunky, legacy infrastructure technologies. Kathryn and Bob explore how firms are already thinking about improving their existing infrastructures to capitalize not only on quantum advancements, but new technologies, in general. 29:45 To the above topic, Kathryn provides insight into how firms are looking to combine QC with advancements in the field of machine learning. 33:30 While much of this discussion was more theoretical and forward-looking, Bob gives a look into what IBM Q currently has on its development roadmap. 38:30 If you’re interested in experimenting with a quantum computer, here’s how.

It isn't called Idle-normal. Let's take a look at what happened in Kentucky with the divergent rounds of Kevin Jones and Paul McBeth. 2nd on the box will be a discussion about TDs/Sponsors and camera crews. When one makes demands on the other, who has the upper hand? Then BOB is going to walk us through something that, sadly, I encountered last week.
Is the game broken or did Eagle just play that well? Let's take a look at the first MPO Major of the year that just happened in the Czech Republic. Idlewild will present a completely different type of golf for us to watch. This course has lots of teeth and I want to tell you about them. Then we have a special guest to talk about who is the best if everyone is on A+ golf. Then BOB is seeking your advice about some breeches of etiquette.
Wow. What is there to say? Paul was magnificent. Because of this incredibly unique round, we will have to do the show a bit different. First, we will look at the course. Then we will look at Paul's round and where it fits into history. For discussion time, let's look at the Konopiste Open and how it snuck up on us. Then BOB is going to test your memory banks. How prepared are you?
n this show the guys talk about Marc not having kids for the weekend. LeBron James chasing rings. What Marc would do if he were president. Then they speak ill of the dead. Marc tells the truth about what an asshole his mother's boyfriend Tom was. Bob talk about Mario Delgado a west coast rapper who goes by the name, Mars. Yes like the planet. Although still alive, he would do the rap community and the world a favor by being dead. Then Bob spills his soda on the desk in an MS moment ending the show. Give us your thoughts. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/bmtalk/message
In this show the guys talk about school being out for summer and Marc not having to get up early or set an alarm. Marc also talks about a pet peeve of his. Which is people who hang their feet out the window in the summertime. Then Bob brings the show down and mentions the suicide of Kate Spade. The guys then go on to talk about suicide and give out the suicide prevention lifeline. Then marks kids, who he put outside like dogs start banging on the window which signals the end of the show. Give us your thoughts. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/bmtalk/message
Contrary to what cartoons would tell us, Cats and Birds did very well together at Milo McIver this weekend. Let's look at how they did it. Opinion time, we need to keep some of our opinions to ourselves. Then Bob asks us our opinion on greatest TV sports.
It's time to head to the land of the beavers. Ricky and Paul appear to be back on their stride. Are they the ones to beat at Milo? Paige won by an incredible 18 strokes last year. Will that continue or did Sarah find the kryptonite in San Francisco? Listen in to the discussion with Steve Hill of the PDGA about the new MPO/FPO coverage guidelines. Then BOB is going to ask some questions about your TV history.
A familiar battle in MPO and a new "old" name in FPO. Lots of great golf to talk about as well as some not so great things to talk about as we look at what should be expected from sponsored professionals. Then BOB brings us to the main discussion on the metaphorical sports page right now. Where do you fall?
DeLaVeaga. One of the oldest and most respected courses in disc golf history. The best in the world descend there to attempt to tame that monster of a course or at least to not fall off a cliff while trying. Who has the best chance based on this year's performances and is that the same person that history would suggest? We also discuss a very popular phrase in disc golf and try to get to the bottom of what it means. Last night I came across a rules situation that was completely new to me and I want you to chime in, according to the rules, and give the proper conclusion. Then BOB comes to us with something that I had never seen and can never unsee.
The biggest and best tournament in the history of disc golf has come and gone. Let's talk about it. All of it. The good, the bad and the unclear. Then BOB leads us to a debate that could never be solved.
We chat to Bob Carey, a New York-based fine art and commercial photographer who shoots from the heart. His images are powerful and meaningful. He was working regularly for some major American corporations and his fine art photography was getting exhibited in prestigious galleries. Then Bob’s world was rocked when his wife Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer, Bob was no stranger to breast cancer having lost his mother to the disease several years earlier. After his mother’s death Bob had used his art as a way of expressing how he felt. These works caught the attention of art dealers and art directors and were the catalyst for his rise as a photographer. When his wife Linda was diagnosed Bob once again relied on his fine art photography to help him deal with and heal his emotions. Bob’s personal projects were created to heal himself but when he began to share his work, first with his wife and then with other patients everything changed. THIS EPISODE: Bob Smiley joins me (and The Peaches) in our first-ever VIDEO CONFERENCE PODCAST! It is a technological marvel. We talk pretty frankly about divorce. I forgot to record the first technological marvel so this is our 2nd conversation. I'm not to be trusted with technology. I need supervision... Bob talks about his many podcast invitations from people who are just as inept as me. Bob talks about divorce, marriage and online dating. His divorce has affected his comedy in several big ways. It has also impacted his Halloween costume storage options. After admitting that Peaches is even stricter than God, there is lots of talk about integrity and vows. Maybe we should change our wedding vows to better reflect our intentions. Marriage will always be assaulted by trials including facial hair experiments. And changes in deodorant. Married people need to be clear about the deal breakers if they exist. Peaches compares marriage with child rearing. It's a little weird but she might be right. Selfishness affects all relationships, not just marriage. Bob has some insight on this topic. He's also painfully ignorant of Bonanza characters. Then Bob talks about dating after 18 years of marriage. It fascinates me and bewilders me at the same time. Plus terrifies me. I try to ask a question and end up saying stupid things that might offend you, Pkarlgh. This is what happens when you produce a podcast without editing. "First dates are just looking for the crazy." And maybe your "picker" is broken. Peaches, the hopeless romantic, explains her clinical, calculated thought process for selecting a mate. Bob actually gives us a tour of his walk in closet. You can see it on the blog. (Beware of motion sickness.) https://vimeo.com/225273234 We finalize with the thought choosing someone is better than needing someone. Then Bob disconnects without saying goodbye...
This is an important replay of an episode from August, 2016. I think everyone should listen to this episode every YEAR, and read Bob's book ("The Go-Giver") every year too. "The Go-Giver" is a career-changing book for many professionals. In this episode, co-author Bob Burg talks about value, influence and changing the way you look at business. Bob starts with an overview of the 5 Laws of Stratospheric Success: Value, Compensation, Influence, Authenticity and Receptivity. Then Bob talks about INTRINSIC VALUE: the value that's built into your experience. These can also be broken into five parts: excellence, consistency, attention, empathy and appreciation. This is what you're giving people. Notice that Burg lists "consistency" as part of excellence. He also emphasizes individual attention (even in a group setting) and appreciation - which doesn't mean "discounts". Bob says "The key to receptivity is staying open to "Probably the biggest upside-down misperception about selling is that it's about taking. And it's not! Selling is all about giving." He continues: "Selling is simply discovering what the other person needs, wants or desires and helping them to get it." Bob has never heard our "No-Sweat Intro" or "Bright Spots" interview questions, but he virtually walks through the entire conversation verbatim. Start with a conversation. Ask questions. Make a recommendation as a coach--not as a salesman. This is why offering a "free CrossFit trial" Bob mentions "How To Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie, which I give to every prospective coach at Catalyst. "Ultimately, people do things for their reasons, not our reasons" - Dale Carnegie Here are 3 things Bob learned from Carnegie: Everyone seeks happiness Happiness is relative Resources are limited. How does a "Go-Giver" say NO to clients who are bad fits or opportunities that will squander their limited time and attention? Bob gives us tactful ways to do so. "I'm not a big believer in being a martyr." A quick overview of The Go-Giver: You can go to Bob’s website www.TheGoGiver.com and immediately download Chapter One from his international bestseller The Go-Giver and access lots of value-added resources such as the special report, The Go-Giver Way: Five Principles for Creating a Culture of Excellence. It's a dual review week! First Logan hits Table 19. Is post-mumblecore a thing? If so, is it a good thing? Then Bob handles Kong: Skull Island. How does Tom Hiddleston do as the ex-military heart throb? Should Brie Larson fans rush to see this one? Bob mini reviews Sing Street. Logan mini reviews The Music of Strangers. In weekend picks, Logan talks up Review. Bob chooses Beauty and the Beast, but also mentions T2 Trainspotting and The Belko Experiment. Let's rock! Follow us on Twitter: @LoganBeaux and @BobCaswell

Bob Chipman aka The Movie Bob fills in for Dave, who is unfortunately absent due to dental work this week. Bob reminisces with Evan and Kris about movies named after job titles before jumping into conversation about THE MARTIAN. All three of them saw it, and all three agree it’s a great film. Evan’s a bit disappointed by some aspects of the book that were cut, but Kris loves that it lets scientists be scientists and Bob hopes that it inspires a million kids to go to space camp. Then Bob and Evan discuss THE WALK, a film that features Joseph Gordon-Levitt as a cartoonish Frenchman. Both thought they might hate it, so they were pleasantly surprised by how much they dug its playful nature. And last but not least, Evan briefly reviews Oren Moverman’s TIME OUT OF MIND, which makes a great statement about homelessness, even though nothing really happens in it.
