Previously on Supergirl…Bitter Imp!  Totems, Totems, Totems.  Battle for the Universe as we know it!  Supergirl has been one step behind since Season 6 – Episode 8!!  Pew, Pew, big booms!  Supergirl destroyed the Hope Totem, the All Stone will never be completed. Wait…wha? Lex Luthor?!?! Nyxly is not convinced that the "Fancy Banker" is the key to her success.  He (Lex) states that he is coming from the future, that he and Nyxly are partners and that in his future she did assemble the All Stone – but not in the right way and…she dead.  Lucky for her (WOW) Lex was there, secured her consciousness and put it in the Lex-O Suit that he delivered in the last episode.  Mitch identifies the fancy banker as Lex Luthor.  Nyxly knows Lex is the one who sent Kara into the Phantom Zone.  You know what Nyxly hates the most?  Men who send women into the Phantom Zone.  Lex zaps out of the scene. Supergirl declares her CatCo quittedness to the Superfriends.  Brainy has a plan to draw Nyxly out so they can finally show down the showdown.  He needs Lena and Nia.  Supergirl and J'onn are working together, interrupted by Alex who shows off the bling she's going to put on Kelly!  There's a history lesson on the year ago that Alex and Kelly mutually cried out Hans Gruber as the best movie villain and here we are ready to make it a forever thing.  Esme could not care less about elaborate proposal planning as long as there's mozzie sticks.  My girl!!  Al's Bar is not available on their special night because it's all booked up for a special event.  Alex is majorly disappointed, and confused, because Al's is never booked for anything. L Otis is thrilled to see Lex again, especially since he (Otis) is now on the LutherCorp Board of Directors – (Nice touch, writers – well played).  Otis tries to convince Lex that he doesn't need the Imp.  Lex explains that the only thing he wants is Nyxly – the love of his life.  Otis: “I'm sory, say what?”  Us:  “Bull*%&$&!!”  Lex has to convince Nyxly now that his heart and intentions toward her are genuine so that their relationship has a second chance (where she ain't…dead).  Otis no understand this but “if she loved you before just do that again.”  Otis is a genius. William's on the case putting out the latest press release about the Superfriends Plan!  In a Kryptonian witch séance they have surmised that the next Totem will be the Love one that Nyxly will target.  Lena's going to magic up a fake love totem with the same totem energy as the real thing, and they're going to lure her to their ultimate trap!  MuHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.  (Sorry.)  Alex almost proposes to Kelly in a car but that is interrupted by Nyxly's appearance.  (Whew.)  Lena creates a magical ring that Nyxly can't cross and then the fireworks start exchanging.  Nyxly is.  Almost.  Done.  For.  And then Lex Kryptonite's his way on the scene.  Lena is a touch furious and starts a fire with the fake totem.  “Miss me, Sis?” drolls Lex. Nyxly is asking Lex how his sister can fake a totem, and fool her Mxy ball about its signal…and “how did you know where I was?” Lex reveals his little surveillance drone.  Imp.  No.  Pleased. ”Creep!”  (She ain't wrong, y'all)  She rejects his offer to help and beams me up, Mitch!!  “I love you…” Lex whines to her absence.  Supergirl is healed with Lena's help and Supergirl wants to make sure Lena is OK, after seeing Lex and all.  Lena admits that her anger creates a FAWYER!  Lena needs to bench her magic and Supergirl agrees, “You're so much more to this team than magic.”  AMEN, people, AMEN!  Andrea is drooling over William, drooling on William, drooling about William's news that Nyxly and Lex are working together.  William wants to make sure that the story is legit and Andrea ain't very interested.  He'll go undercover with Lex's organization if he has to.  The Superfriends can't figure out how Lex came back into the picture until Brainy realizes he's been hanging out in the 31st century.  Brainy wants to use the totems that they have against the evil duo.  J'onn says they can use the energy of the totems instead of the totems themselves.  I reach for my Advil… Brainy is uber bothered that Lex has technology from the 31st century and wishes he could know what Lex was up to.  He won't contact the Legion because the last time he knew future stuff he teamed up with Lex and things went fuzzbuckets.  Supergirl and J'onn figure they can only use the courage totem to work the plan.  What is the plan?  No earth-prime idea.  J'onn is going to go through Season 6 – Episode 13 “The Gauntlet” since Supergirl never passed it and she's not going to try now.  Thanks very much, writers!!  We go back in time to when J'onn lacked courage at the very end when the White Martians took out everything and everybody.  Not. This. Time. In. J'onn's.  Mind. Lex and Otis go over the future history of Lex and Nyxly going over the different options to get Nyxly on board the love train.  Otis suggests brainwashing.  “That is the underpinnings of a toxic relationship,” replies Lex.  Otis suggests just telling her how Lex really feels.  Lex laughs.  The duo have Mitch captured.  Mitch is going to give Nyxly very important info but not tell her where he got it – where the love totem is.  Nia also simultaneously dreams where the Love totem is – Portugal!  Nyxly shows up, repels our heroes, again (oy, ve), and Supergirl has Phantoms all up in her mind grill.  The love totem disappears before Nyxly can get it. Supergirl recovers and they can't figure out where the totem went.  Except that the totems are now found out to appear and disappear randomly throughout history.  I reach for more Advil… Nyxly seeks out Lex, who is waiting for her at his grand piano.  She wants to know if he knows where it went.  But no lovey dovey, just his help.  J'onn is guilty that he couldn't protect Supergirl just like he couldn't ultimately save his Martian daughters.  Supergirl admits the dream energy took her back to the phantoms and that it's *really* hard to find hope. (Perhaps because you DESTROYED HOPE?!?!?!?) J'onn theorizes that maybe these experiences are trying to tell them that they are stronger than their fears.  He can't save his Martian daughters, but he can save his family now.  Supergirl says they should use their totems as weapons. If they use the humanity totem Supergirl could lose her (Kryptonian) humanity.  More Advil… Supergirl wants Lena to magic up her a force field.  Lena's like “did you not understand that I'm all fired up at the moment?!”  Supergirl is hoping that Lena will understand that using the totems is the only answer.  Supergirl knows that her family will pull her back from the nightmare of becoming a Phantom.  Lena can use her new family to pull her back instead of being attached to Lex as her family. William comes upon Alex, who explains that her proposal to Maggie went fuzzbuckets and she is worried about the same deal going down with Kelly.  William says that with Lex around nothing is guaranteed.  “If you have love to give, give it now.”  (Still don't appreciate you, William, but you're not wrong.)  Lex has blended up magic and 31st century tech to fix the Mxy ball.  Nyxly asks if she gets her revenge in the future.  Lex paints a glory-full picture of her revenge.  “Every time you talked about it you glowed.”  Mxy ball tells Nyxly where the love totem is for realzzz. Alex tries to bullrush Al's bar since it's supposedly booked but it turns out the surprise is on her because Kelly and Esme are the ones who booked the bar.  Kelly knows it's the anniversary of the first time that she knew Alex was the one.  (Chyler is going to make me cry.)  Alex wants to be the one who proposes.  She goes into her pocket and pulls out (not the ring but...) the love totem.  Nyxly and Lex show up and start firing.  Esme screams for Supergirl.  Lex and J'onn go toe to toe while Supergirl and Nyxly go at it.  Lena magic up's the force field, Supergirl uses the humanity totem as a weapon, J'onn takes Lex out and joins Supergirl in the fight.  Nyxly is almost done so Lex beams her out of there, even though he could have grabbed the love totem.  It turns black from the pink that it was. J'onn says he hit the love totem with all the energy of the courage totem, which turned it black.  Kelly wonders if the love totem is toast, does that mean all of the love in the. whole. world. gone?  Alex says no way!  “That thing turned black but I still love all y'all!”  Alex says we're surrounded by chaos, but nothing could tell her apart from Kelly.  She proposes.  All of the Superfriends are there to celebrate.  Except Lena.  And Nia.  But Brainy captured the video.  Booooooooooooo.  Meanwhile, Lex fixes Nyxly from her total blast of Humanity and Courage.  She doesn't understand why Lex abandoned the love totem to save her.  She wants the truth.  Lex declares the truth is that he loves her with the fire of 10,000 destroyed hope totems.  She is his equal in every way and he was overwhelmed by her.  She admits no one has ever acted selflessly for her and so therefore they can be friends.  Then there's the proposal party.  Brainy is moody because he can't understand Lex's selflessness either.  Brainy needs to know what changed him in the future and Nia assures him that he can call the future because he has her and team behind him.  Kara thanks Lena for her sacrifice and Lena thanks Kara for helping her free herself from Lex.  William ignores a call from Andrea to join a covert meeting with Otis.  She's not happy so she Acrata's up and goes for the information at Luthor manor herself and comes across a love poem Lex has written.  Nyxly is bummed because she can't build the All Stone without the Hope totem.  Lex has it in his hands!!  Lex explains that you can destroy the shell of the totem, but its essence flows into something new.  Advil, Advil, Advil!!!!!!!!!  He also knows that the destroyed Love totem will come back and appears to be coming on the back of Esme's neck.  I ram my head into the television – hence, more Advil. Next week?  Dancing, Dancing, and more Dancing!

Pete:                I'm Pete. Alex:                 And on The Stack we talk about a bunch of books that come out this week, kicking it off with Radiant Black number one from Image Comics written by Kyle Higgins, art by Marcello Costa. This is of course, as you could probably tell from the number one and totally new book. And the premise is a Downer's luck author who has not gotten jobs for a while, heads back home, encounters something weird and may or may not become some sort of a superhero, pretty typical setup. But I really liked how this was executed personally. I thought the designs were great and I'm very excited to read this going forward. What did you guys think? Pete:                I agree. I was really impressed with this setup. I mean just seeing this guy cry when he goes through early, really makes you, “Oh, you're rooting for this person.” And then just the way he falls into is very interesting. And the design of the suit and stuff is really fantastic. I think this does a great job of getting you excited for a new series. Justin:              Yeah, this had some vibes of invincible to me very much Early Kirkman stuff. Pete:                Sure- Justin:              And both in the writing and the art. And yeah, it was an interesting launch. I was very triggered by a writer who struggles to work- Pete:                Wow- Justin:              Because that's a constant stress. Pete:                The douchey friend reminded me of you. Justin:              Oh, that's so interesting. The animal, I think it was some hamster or rat that was dead next to the tracks. It reminded me of you. Pete:                Oh, wow. That's really fucked up. Alex:                 So in the back matter, Kyle Higgins talks a little bit about how he was inspired while he was writing Power Rangers- Pete:                Yeah- Alex:                 And that really firmed a bunch of stuff up in Bye-Bye and for the- Pete:                Yes, big time- Alex:                 About the world what is going on here. But I think what he's done is he found a really grounded way of taking this Power Rangers concept, making it feel afresh, make it feel new. And it's a lot of fun. I'm excited to read more of this. Alex:                 Next up Sweet Tooth return number four from TC Comics so written and art by Jeff Lameer. We get some big answers here about what's been- Pete:                Yeah- Alex:                 Going on with this rebooted- Justin:              Yeah- Alex:                 Sweet Tooth. Justin, I know you've been concerned about the end game here. So how did you feel about this issue [inaudible 00:02:34]? Justin:              This issue did a lot for me. I think we got to learn a lot of the backstory here and what I love about the take here, and it reminded me of a lot of the later stuff. The later arcs on the original Sweet Tooth. The way that Jeff Lameer combines in the writing, the ideas of scientists who become religious fanatics, breaking that dichotomy between science and religion and showing that the real danger is when fanatical people actually have the tools they need to cause real problems for the planet. Justin:              That's when we as a society get into trouble. I think it's on display again here. And this is such a great issue to really flash out the mythology. We get to hear a little bit of why the people in charge of this newer world are motivated to do what they do and it's great. Pete:                I thought the stuff about the shirt was very sweet and touching. Alex:                 There's some stuff about Sweet Tooth shirt, particularly that was such a big thing back in the old book. And that gets called back here. I agree, really good issue, very excited to see how this all starts to wrap up, going over to a Turtle's number two from Marvel written by Karen Gillan, art by [inaudible 00:03:48] where we left off in the last issue, Thanos was attacking some of the members of the Eternals. So one of the Eternals had been murdered. Usually not a problem. It turns out it is a little bit of a problem here- Pete:                There's a problem- Alex:                 But you get some big revelations and explanation of what's going on. One- Pete:                Yeah- Alex:                 Of my favorite things about this book is it is revealed. I don't know if it was real to the first issue, but it's revealed here in a very funny and very Karen Gillen way that the person who is narrating this, is the eternal machine that helps resurrect the Eternals, but that machine is broken. And just the way that is executed, the way that tells the story of the series feels so unique and exciting to me. Pete:                Yeah. I was- Justin:              Totally the narration is funny, it's sort of irreverent. It feels like you're hearing the Karen Gillan, basically make fun of the characters in the book that he's currently writing, which I think is so great. Pete:                Yeah. I was really impressed with this. You got a big Eternals movie coming out from Marvel. So I feel like this does a great job of getting people excited for that. Eternals to me never really was something I could latch onto, but I'm really into this book. I think it's a really cool setup of a what's the problem is and what's going on and what's going to happen. And I'm really looking forward to it. Art's fantastic. A really fun time jumps stuff here. Yeah. And even there's sweet touching moments where they make mistakes. And I was really impressed with this. This is a really solid book. Justin:              And their R is so good. It feels so big mythology while also having great comic book action at the same time. This comic is really just delivering on all the fronts you want. Alex:                 Well, on that note, let's turn a bit to low number 26 from Image Comics written by Greg Takini- Justin:              Oh, here we go- Alex:                 This is the last issue of this book. Justin, this has been one of your favorite books for a very long time. How do you think it wrapped up? Justin:              Great. Just so good. Rick Rimenda. I don't know how, I mean, we talked to him about this book a few weeks ago and it was on the podcast. And I don't know how he writes his books. When does he think of the ending? Because he really does such a good job with endings in a lot of his work. He's able to tie up the character arcs, the emotional arcs as well as just the central theme and leave you thinking and feeling a certain way, in his last issues, it was same with Black Science. Justin:              And this issue is just beautifully done. You see that… And I don't want to spoil too much of it. Because I think you really need to read this and take it in. And I want to reread the entire series to really get every ounce of story out of it. But it's about a family at the end of the day. And you get to see that land in a way that is tragic, heartbreaking, but beautiful and sentimental at the same time. Pete:                Yeah. I mean, this is the sweetest most moving way Rimenda could kick you in the nuts. He's still going to get you, but this is done so well. And it's so moving. It's really impressive. The art is just… A lot of times when you're dealing with different worlds, different ideas, the art can get too crazy, but it's done in such a way that it shows grace and beauty and different things. Pete:                The layering to it is really impressive. There's different characters that aren't human that are very humanized, it's really amazing and impressive the way this all ties in. This got really weird at times, but man, does he land this so well. Justin:              And he- Pete:                He does it so well, it really does make you want to be like, “Wait, I want to go back and see that beginning again.” Justin:              If I may just get your jacket book quote correct. I think it's a beautiful kick in the nuts that makes you turn and say thank you to the nut kicker. Pete:                Right. Justin:              Peel the page. Alex:                 Next step Rorschach number five from DC Comics written by Tom King art by Hori Fornace. I hesitate to say it was my favorite issue so far, but this is the one to me that really felt like- Justin:              Yeah- Alex:                 It pulled back the veil on what's happening potentially where this book is heading. We've had this guy investigating this mystery. There was an attempted presidential assassination, but somebody dressed as Rorschach and somebody dressed as a cowboy. Alex:                 The first couple of issues have been really building up, was investigator looking through this mystery. And if I was to purely speculate for a bit, we found out that this cowboy character has been going up to people and telling them, “Hey, you are the reincarnation of Rorschach. His energy with Dr. Manhattan Blue is hemp, has gone into various people. You and Rorschach, come with me, let's do vigilante justice.” Pete:                That'll pick up line. Alex:                 That'll pick up line. I think whether that is true or not, that's what's happening to our main guy, right? He is going to get to a place where either he becomes Rorschach or even thinks he is Rorschach and maybe starts to think this is true. Justin:              Well, he believes that he's Rorschach at the end of the day. I think that's just smart. Alex:                 Well specifically because the theme that Tom King is dealing with here is conspiracy theories. And I think this is a little bit about how the deeper you get into conspiracy theory, the more things start to look like conspiracy, and the more it starts to become believable, whether you're investigating it or whether you're the one who's putting it out there. Justin:              Yeah, I think that's such a smart take because my takeaway from this issue specifically… I mean, last issue, we talked about this a little bit because it was tricking people into believing certain things and them taking it to the extreme where they end up- Alex:                 Right- Justin:              Believing it above everything else in their lives. Also very topical thing going on in our real world. And in this, this issue is about masks. And then we have this character who's running for president to try to take down a Robert Redford who's won for like five terms in a row. And he's shitting on wearing mask because he is so comfortable believing a bunch of nonsense maskless. Justin:              And the people that wear masks are quote unquote, hiding their beliefs, their identities, whatever, yet this person is so brazen and out there saying nonsense. He doesn't have to hide even the craziest opinions that he has. That was my takeaway from this, is just, the people that wear the mask are maybe the people to trust more so. Pete:                I agree with… It's all been, a lot more is solidified, click into place here. Tom King, just piece meals information as he twists and turns stories. But this is one of my favorite issues for sure. And the last couple of panels, just absolutely fantastic. And so cool. Yeah, I thought this was a great issue and I'm very excited for more. Alex:                 I agree, next up Daredevil number 27 from Marvel written by [inaudible 00:11:20] who is on the live show this very week, talking about this book, art by Marco Maketto and Mike Hawthorne. This book we're dealing with the King Black crossover while Electra is filling in for Matt Murdock fighting on the streets of New York. Matt is trapped in prison and has been infected by [inaudible 00:11:36] the God of the Symbionts. So we're getting these dual stories going on and they're both very good. Justin:              I was really impressed with this. I thought the way they handled Matt Murdoch's belief in religion and God when it came to, what the fuck is, the King of black, what's his name there? Alex:                 Knull. Justin:              Knull, thank you. Yeah, I thought that was so great. And so well explained in such a way that really felt like Matt Murdoch character. I was really impressed with that. It was crazy to hear, to be like, “Yeah, religion, I don't know.” Because it really felt like he was coming from a place, for this, but I guess he just really gets in the head of his character so well. Justin:              But yeah, I thought this was really a great, fantastic, hold it up over time issue of Daredevil, really interesting. It's all of the characters really doing their own thing in their own way, right down to kingpin and a lecturer as Daredevil. I was really impressed with the art and everything that happened in this issue. Pete:                It's really rare when a book can continue its story through a crossover and the crossover actually enhances a lot of the themes that we're dealing with. Justin:              Yeah. Pete:                And this book really does it. And the only thing that was missing was a scene where Foggy was sitting alone in his apartment, which is what he does a lot. And a symbiont comes up, jumps on him and then the symbiont is like, “Eh nevermind.” And just goes on to just someone else or just to wrap around a mouse or whatever. Justin:              Yeah. Well, Foggy wins again. Alex:                 Next up Birthright, number 46 from Image comics written by Joshua Williamson and art by Andre Bresson. This is kicking off the final arc of this book. As we start to wrap up this story here, everybody's picking up the pieces by finally taking down the God King Lore. We get some flashbacks back to the world that Mikey and friends were living in for a very long period of time. What'd you think about this? I think we felt like everything wrapped up really nicely in the last couple of issues. And now we have more Birthright. Justin:              We have this and four more issues. This is another one of my favorite books coming to an end in a great way. The fact that we had the big battle the land of the last arc, we get to see a nice epilogue an emotional- Alex:                 Oh yeah- Justin:              Epilogue, which is what again, about family and about what it means, despite all the crazy shit going on in our lives. What do we chase after when the going gets tough? And in this case, family, I love this book. Pete:                It's really dawning on me that family's important. I think comic books might be right. It's crazy. No, I agree, Justin, this is really impressive. What they're doing afterwards, this huge thing, it's kind of like, okay, onto the next adventure. No, they're really sitting in this aftermath, exploring other things that maybe they could have talked about more while all this madness was happening. I was really impressed with the relationship stuff in this, very moving, this book continues to be amazing. Alex:                 Next up Black Hammer visions never went from Dark Horse Comics written by Patton Oswalt art by Dean Cots. This is the first issue of course, of this anthology telling stories about the Black Hammer characters from creators. Other than Jeff Lameer, we've been really big fans of the miniseries, they've been rolling off here. These are these one-shots. Alex:                 I thought this as usual was absolutely great. This is a one-shot story that mixes up Black Hammer and Ghost World of all things and awards as a coda to Ghost World while still telling a story of Gail for the Black Hammer universe. Absolutely wonderful. I was completely surprised by this. Did not see this coming from Patton Oswalt at all. Really good one-shot comic book. Pete:                Patton Oswalt, really getting into the comic book game. Justin:              Yeah, I was really impressed with this. This wasn't just a comedian doing bits. This was really smart, very moving stuff, such a cool story, the way everything tied in and fit with this world. I was really impressed with this. I really liked the setting of it. I thought it was great. The art's glorious. Alex:                 Yeah, really good stuff. Next, oh God. Pete:                I agree as well. Sorry. Really got into the fact that he was able to bring Ghost World into it, was clearly something that he loves. He's got some Amy Mann quote lyrics from at the end of the book and still be telling a story that fits seamlessly into this world and is fun, funny with good reveals. It's really great. Alex:                 Let's jump into our Future State block, where we talk about all of the books that have come out for future change. Justin:              Oh yeah. Alex:                 And just to read down the list this week, we've got Future State, Dark Detective, number three. Future State Teen Titans, number two. Future State [inaudible 00:16:38], number two. Future State Superman and Wonder Woman, number two. Future State Green Lantern number two. Future State Justice League, number two. And Future State [inaudible 00:16:46] Superwoman, number two. I got to admit, I'm a little slightly with Pete here where they definitely hit me this week where I was like, “Oh, there's a lot of books we're reading, oh boy.” Justin:              Yes. It is a lot, but- Alex:                 Fuck this guy- Justin:              The stories are, so they get to- Alex:                 [inaudible 00:17:01]- Justin:              Go off in a lot of different directions. And if we're going to dive into our faves I'm going to give it up for Future State Justice League number two, which I really liked the way they went here by having the white Martian takeover. And it became about all the different heroes identities, and the fact that they need to connect with each other or else nothing, or else they're just weaker as a team. And I liked that as a theme, it was something I didn't see coming really in the last issue they laid it out and this really paid it off. I thought it was just really well done. Pete:                Yeah. I completely agree. I love Justice League, amazing art, The White Martian story was great. And also having Joe, the new Green Lantern, he was the best Green Lantern of all time. It was just fantastic. And it made the book so much better and the backup story was great. Magic is hope motherfuckers, I thought that was great. I thought [inaudible 00:18:03]- Justin:              The Justice League dark story. Pete:                Yeah. Alex:                 The other thing I mentioned that I thought it was interesting about this week is we're getting two things here, right? One, we're getting the wrap-up of these future state stories, but also we're getting teases for what's down the road. And DC has started to announce that some of these titles are continuing in different forums. For example, Wonder Woman is continuing as Wonder Girls, or we're going to get that there. Alex:                 I think, I'm forgetting which other ones are going to continue, but certainly there's teases at the end of a couple of these for how they're going to flesh out in different storylines. Green Lantern number two ends with the tease of Green Lantern 2021, which does seem again, Joe, from- Pete:                Oh, yeah- Alex:                 Fire sector is going to be fighting Hell Jordan in the subway. So that should be fun to watch. Justin:              Yes. Alex:                 The one that- Justin:              Great crew- Alex:                 Really jumped out to me, I love the first issue of this, and I love the second issue of this too. Future States Superman, Wonder Woman, which is of course, teaming up the characters, but sending them off on these very different stories, Superman fighting Solaris, [inaudible 00:19:00]. Wonder Woman trying to have a race around the universe with the Sun God from her culture. I just really liked how these characters related. I thought there was a fun tone to it. The art was really nice as well, and it felt like an enjoyable all ages title, but with these new Superman, Wonder Woman characters and it made me really delighted to potentially follow them going forward. Justin:              I agree. And this felt really mythological, the whole thing felt it could have been something in the back of an Edith Hamilton book that you read in school and were pleasantly surprised how much a comic book it was. Pete:                Oh, wow. I really liked Kara Zor-El Superwoman, number two. The art was just so phenomenal and I really liked the character design for Superwoman amazing, just cool [inaudible 00:19:57] like dragons. Very enjoyable. I've been enjoying that series as well. Alex:                 Now let me ask you Pete, at the end of this book we leave Kara Zor-El buried next to her dog Krypto. Pete:                Right. Alex:                 Would you feel if you were awesome shared a grave with them a dog, would you be like, “That's it.” Or in your case, I guess it'd be a cat. Pete:                Well, currently, I mean, don't put shit like that out there. I don't want my cat to die, but- Alex:                 I'm not saying your cat's going to die, but someday it will. Pete:                Oh, that's fucking heartbreaking, man. Justin:              Is your cat like a [inaudible 00:20:32] where if your cat dies, you have to be buried alive with the cat? Alex:                 Yes. Pete:                I hope not. I don't want to do that, but yeah, I love that. I thought that was super sweet. Alex:                 Sorry man your cats live at will, it's going to happen. I have your cat's [inaudible 00:20:51]- Justin:              You can't sign it with a [inaudible 00:20:52]- Pete:                My cat can't read. So it's going to be fine. Justin:              The cat doesn't have to read, [inaudible 00:20:57]- Alex:                 I explained it very clearly to your cat, your cat agreed- Justin:              Put a little ink print. Pete:                [inaudible 00:21:03] my cat then, I'll see you in court. Justin:              Lapage versus Whiskers of some sort. All the way to the Supreme court, what's your cat's name? Pete. Pete:                It's a very long name. I call her Caboots. Alex:                 Why are you being secrective about this? Justin:              Do we not have time to get into this? Pete:                It's a very long name. Justin:              Okay. Are you worried about threading tape on it? Because I talked to the engineer and we actually have the tape. We can run it. So go ahead. Lay out the whole name, I guess. Pete:                Okay, fine. It's kitten NASCA of the Valley of the wind Lapage Thomas. Justin:              Aw, that's very cute. Alex:                 That's very cool. Pete:                I call her Caboots. Justin:              Well, I look forward to visiting your grave in the Valley of the wind. Pete:                Nice. Justin:              Your shared grave. Alex:                 Alright. Why don't we move on from Future State and talk about critical Role Vox Mac- Pete:                Wait- Alex:                 Oh, there's other things you wanted to talk about? Pete:                Yeah it's- Alex:                 We've got also Dark Detective. We've got Teen Titans. We got [inaudible 00:22:07] Turtle. Pete:                Yeah. I wanted to talk about Dark Detective. I really thought it was a great issue. Justin:              It's great. Pete:                I love this tech Batman versus future Batman. The two designs are really cool and it's fun to see them go head to head. And to [inaudible 00:22:27] guys so drones are scary and I'm just putting that out there now. Drones are going to be very scary in the future. Justin:              Yeah. You mean the nano drones that are hovering right around your head even as we speak. Pete:                Yeah. I'm sure they're out there, but also I checked out a DC Love is a Battlefield. [crosstalk 00:22:47]. There was very durable. They did a lot of coupling up for Valentine's day. And Tim Seeley did a Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn love story. It was just so great. So touching. Justin:              It is amazing how you do this every week and in such an odd way. I really liked Dark Detective as well. The front story has been one of my favorites of this run. And just a quick rundown of the rest, Green Lantern too, I thought the setup for the next issues, I was really into the Green Lantern 2021 coming forward with how Jordan felt like a nice starting point going forward. And I liked the Robin Eternal issue here as well with Tim Drake, really suffering from some juicy Lazarus problems. Alex:                 I agree. Next up, critical role [inaudible 00:23:37] series three, number one from Dark Horse Comics written by Jody Houser, art by Oliver Samson in this book, we're getting a bunch of fantasy stuff is happening. What did you guys think? I'm sorry. I'm just not very familiar with critical role. So I read this and I was like, “Yes, this is a fantasy world.” But funny. I get it. Pete:                Yeah. I think this is a fun adventure book, a bunch of people teaming up going on adventures. Joining fight clubs. I thought the arts fantastic. Some fun storytelling. I thought this was a cool team to get behind. I'm very excited to see where this goes. Justin:              Yeah, I agree. I was concerned with the fight club that they fight in teams and how do you really judge on a team? If we were to fight another trio, how would we know we were an evenly balanced team? Pete:                If we won, we would be good. Alex:                 So Pete is the tank, right? Justin:              Yeah, that's what we say off mic. Alex:                 Justin, you're the thief, you're quick and sneaky. Justin:              That's okay. Alex:                 And I'm white like [inaudible 00:24:45]- Pete:                You're the evil mastermind. Justin:              You're the baby hands- Alex:                 Baby hands. Justin:              Every trio has them- Alex:                 Crucial. Pete:                The tank, the thief- Justin:              Yeah, you're a boss baby [crosstalk 00:24:55]- Alex:                 I'm a muscle. Pete:                Justin's [inaudible 00:24:58]- Alex:                 I'm a boss baby back in business. Justin:              Now streaming on Netflix- Pete:                Justin's a face man. He can talk his way into anything. Alex:                 There we go. Justin:              We're quite a trio. None of those things we're fighting by the way just so we're clear. Alex:                 Thunderbolts, number two for Marvel Comics written by Matthew Rosenberg, art by Van Ferrari. This is tying into the King and Black event. Lots of goopy stuff going on this week- Justin:              Goopy- Alex:                 More [inaudible 00:25:21] to come. Here we get a bunch of villains, have tried to rescue maybe, or work with Norman Osborn to find out some information from him. So they spent a lot of time in Raven Croft. I always want to say Arkham, but it's not Arkham, it's Raven Croft. Justin:              It's close. Alex:                 And it's super fun as usual. Justin:              How could you mix those two up Alex? How would you mix those two things up? Alex:                 They're two- Justin:              It's impossible. There are two very different in [inaudible 00:25:45] in two very different universes. Alex:                 You right, I'm sorry. Super fun bits in here, in particular. And I feel Matthew Rosenberg is just writing for the bits for some of these things where just, what is it? Mister Fear says something to Kingpin. He doesn't realize he's of the zoom and Kingpin is, “Hey, Taskmaster you're here.” And he's, “Yeah.” He's like, “Okay, punch Mister Fear.” And he punches Mister Fear, Norman Osborn getting too close to the zoom and his whole face filling it, just fun, it's a fun book to read. I had a blast reading it across the board. Pete:                Yeah. I think he does great on team books. This was fun. I also really to see Taskmaster around, so I thought this was a lot of fun, great kingpin stuff. The art's great. This is just a fun book. Justin:              Yeah. It's a great mix of real good comic storytelling, good fights. Character-driven stuff, even characters we don't really see a lot. I really liked this new star character that the series that we read six months ago now. Seeing her hair, it's great. Really well-written but also very fun, funny, and still tying into this goopy old crossover. Pete:                And also, you got to be wary if you just find… Nobody's just taking a nap in the bush. You got to be careful. That's all I'm saying. I don't want to give things away, but that was creepy. Alex:                 I hope this comic continues. I don't know if it will, but this is the sort of thing where I could see Wilson Fisk having a bunch of villains going on disposable missions. Most of them getting killed, not coming back alive, betray each other. It's suicide squad without the bombs in the head, but it's fun to read and he's writing the hell out of it. So I'll definitely read more. Alex:                 Next up Undiscovered Country, number 12 from Image Comics written by Scott Snyder and Charles Soul art by Giuseppe Camuncoli and Leonardo and Marcello Grassi. This is tying up the second arc of this book, unity in a huge fashion, propelling us into the next arc of the book. This is a wild ride as usual, incredible visuals throughout. Justin:              Yeah. Alex:                 Particularly with this issue, we had Scott on the show a little while ago and he was talking about how he and Charles are writing the movie. I do not know how they're writing a movie of this. It's just so big. Everything that happens. Justin:              It would be crazy to boil this arc down to one set piece. Because that's what it would have to be, sort of. I would think. Pete:                I don't know how- Justin:              The comic, you get the emotional beats are here, it's wild storytelling. There are so many ideas here. I mean, it's the same stuff we always compliment this book about, but they just continue to really find the balance of giving this… In this book, there's this very wild escape. It plays a Super Mario kart race for a portion of it. But then you get this really great heartfelt moment where to the main characters, the brother and sister are talking to their images of their parents and it's great. Pete:                Yeah. There's so much to this comic. There's so much happening. It can be a little crazy, but man, does it deliver? And the big monster aspect in this issue was just glorious and so cool that a six shooter was really crazy. This was really cool also, they thought this place that they're out was one thing and it turned out to be something different, really great ideas going on in this book. Pete:                I mean, I did think it was a little bit like, “All right, when it's these young kids.” And they're like, “This is old technology, the first iPod, how do you even use this?” I was, “Okay. All right.” But really impressive fun stuff. Art's really unbelievable. This continues to be such a scratch your head, what's happening, but then delivers really well. Justin:              Yeah. And the last page reveal is just a hundred percent fun. Alex:                 It's great stuff- Justin:              It's like, “Okay. Yeah, let's get fun.” Alex:                 I'm in, I'm on board. Love it. Can't wait for the next arc. Next up, The Last, Witch, number two for BoomBox written by- Justin:              Oh man- Alex:                 Connor MCcury art by [inaudible 00:30:09]. You guys have been buzzing about this book. Pete:                [inaudible 00:30:13]. This book is buzzing. This book is so good- Alex:                 Buzzing. First. So we got a girl in a small town heading off to a witch's tower. Just wants to check it out a little bit, things pick up and this issue where I was, “Did I miss an issue? Is this issue, number three, what's going on here?” Because this is insane from the first page with witches eating people and powers and everything. What do you guys about this book in particular? Pete:                Well first off, the art is really unbelievable. It feels like an amazing animation and still form… The characters designed in the witches and the faces and the different kind of glowing things in them are really cool. This is moving, it's intense, it's sentimental. The little part where the kid is like, “I told you, it was so awesome.” Yeah, I'm really impressed with this book. I didn't think I would like it so much. The grandma smoking a cigar is glorious. Justin:              You love a good grandma, who doesn't love a good grandma? Alex:                 You love a grandma. And you Pete, you know that's a blunt dude, you know she's [inaudible 00:31:20]. Justin:              She's far from [inaudible 00:31:22] bro- Alex:                 She even says, she's like, “Let's get this Juniper going around the room.” Justin:              Honestly. I know we're joking about it, but Pete, you are very into grandma's and comics from this to watching Future. I'm sure there's a couple of others I'm forgetting- Alex:                 And real life. He loves a grandma. Justin:              You should release your own podcast where you count down the top 10 grandmas of all time. Pete:                Oh that'd be cool. I could do it. But yeah, I think this book really took me by surprise and is really impressive. I cannot wait for more. Each issue continues to give us such a great movement for the story. Yeah. I'm really impressed. Justin:              I love the art in this a lot. It reminds me of some classic Ralph [inaudible 00:32:08] animation style getting in like, the old habit series back in the day. And to your question earlier, Alex, why we think it's such a buzz, buzz, buzzy book. It moves quickly. It's both fun, lighthearted, welcoming us into this world. It's scary at times. But it's always just driving the story forward in a well done, confident way. It's just a good book. There's a little mystery going on at the end. We get a lot of mythology building here and cabins in the woods. Watch out. Alex:                 Yeah. All right, everybody that has been our buzz-buzz busy [inaudible 00:32:48] book of the week. Let's move on and talk about American Vampire 1976, number five from TC Comics written by Scott Snyder, art by Rafael Albuquerque. Talk about things getting big- Justin:              [inaudible 00:32:59]- Alex:                 In this issue, our heroes are fighting a bunch of giants, encounter a council of vampires, tons of mythology dump in this issue are going on here as we're on to the end game, seemingly of American Vampire. Another great issue, but it's just wild to me that we are so far into the road of this book and they're still laying down huge pieces of the mythology. It's very impressive. Justin:              Yeah. And it all fits. It all feels very deliberate and they've done a great job of setting up a villain that is worse than everything else we've seen it before. And the way that they're able to keep, Skinner's such a central part of this character just by the fact that he's been devamped and he's just sort of, “Ah, I don't know what I'm doing. I'm just hanging around.” And he's still such a fun character, is great. Pete:                Yeah. Scott Snyder knows what the fuck he's doing when it comes to writing comic books, because this is really impressive, so well done. After all these arcs you would think that maybe the ideas would get a little, “All right, we're going to try.” But man just delivers hard on every issue. The last panel reveal on this was really unbelievable. I can't say enough about the art. These two teaming up is just magic. Alex:                 Next up Black Panther, Keegan Black, number one written by Jeffery Thorn art by Jermaine Peralta in this issue, as you can probably imagine these symbionts are attacking Wakanda and they start to fight back. What'd you think about this issue? Another book that feels it was inspired by, “Hey, what characters have black in their name? Let's put them in the Black King and Black Event.” But personally I think it panned out a lot better than you might expect based on that. Pete:                I was really impressed with this book. Also, I didn't expect to get choked up but there was a moment where Black Panther and Siri see each other and give each other a hug. And I got a little choked up because I was, “That's never going to happen in TV or movies and we're never going to get to see that.” And it got me a little bit, which I wasn't ready for. Justin:              It's funny you say that Pete, because I was thinking the same thing. It's so rare, I think in a comic book, where from the adaptation to the movie has such an effect on reading the comic book going forward. Because I do feel, when I see Black Panther, I'm just, “Oh, there's a loss there.” Pete:                Yeah, It's tough yeah- Justin:              I view the character in the way that it's never happened to me before. And I just can't imagine it has happened before. And to see this, I don't know, does that harm the Black Panther character in the Marvel universe? The fact that Chadwick Boseman was such an icon for the role and then died. And is it going to stay with us for forever? I guess would say. Pete:                I wonder because it's like, the comic came first. They should be able to do what they want, but man, it was just… I was having a hard time reading it. I was really getting choked up and being, “Ah, I don't know, what did you just say? Series Black Panther and not kind of deal with it just so you don't have these kinds of reactions.” But that doesn't seem fair. Alex:                 I do think there's something to be said. I agree with you guys. I had the exact same reaction emotionally and there was a brief thought of you're saying, Pete, should they retire to Tchala as Black Panther for a while? Which sounds insane. But just to get around that uncomfortable sad reaction that you have, but I would say no, you keep it going because it is a tribute to how powerful he was as the character that even though he passed away in a very untimely manner, the character continues and it does pay a tribute to him by continuing to exist, by continuing to have these ventures. And as long as they keep being good and they keep treating the character in a good way, that does pay tribute to Chadwick Boseman's performance in a back way as well. Pete:                Now I do want to talk a little bit about this issue, not you know talking about that. I thought this was a great issue of Black Panther, lot of cool things and the call back to one of Black Panthers enemies was such a cool idea to help stop this menace. I was really impressed with the writing on this and there's really cool, beast showdowns here. Yeah. Wow. What an awesome issue. What amazing art. This was really cool. Alex:                 Next up Bliss, number five from Image Comics written by Sean Lewis, art by Caitlin Yarsky. In this issue, we're getting a bunch of backstory about what's going on with our father character who was going up against the main antagonist of this book. We find out how he broke out of the hold of this drug. I guess you can call it a drug. Bliss, how he worked his way forward. Meanwhile, we're following his son as he is trying to track down his dad, I believe. Still some incredible imagining coming out of this book, even five issues in. Justin:              This reminded me of, and maybe this is a stretch. Do tell me. It's a reverse never-ending story? Alex:                 Oh wow. Interesting. Justin:              I guess it's just like the never ending story. The dad is going on the adventure and the kid is [inaudible 00:38:35] hearing the dad adventure. Pete:                That's a way to reverse Everett Dick story, as [crosstalk 00:38:43]- Alex:                 You said, the kid being directed to the drug, it's the dad and then- Justin:              What I was thinking about was the fact that it's the dad going on the adventure and the kid is hearing this stories- Pete:                Riding a dragon means drugs. And then- Alex:                 I always describe, I don't know if you guys do this too, but I always describe 13, going on 30 is a double reverse pig. Pete:                Exactly. And you talk about that a lot, especially in your work as a critic. Yeah. Alex:                 I try to relate everything back to 13 going on 30 if I can. Pete:                Seven a movie. Yeah, I thought this was a really beautiful issue. Unbelievable. This story continues to move forward in a great way. You go from absolutely hating this dad to maybe there's something that could be done. Yeah, I'm just really impressed with this story. And then fun kind of join us next time. And they got the AOC with the scales of justice. I thought that was crazy cool. Alex:                 What? Pete:                The character designs are very interesting. Justin:              I will say to Pete's point, I don't think it's actually AOC, but the woman in the preview for next issue looks just like AOC. Pete:                It's AOC dude. Alex:                 Next step Orcs, number one from Kaboom written by and art by Christine Larson. This is pretty much you could do that you could expect from the title. It's a bunch of adventure in Orcs. [inaudible 00:40:07] it's Kaboom, it is very all ages. I thought this was a delightful, fun book to read with some great character designs. I enjoyed this quite a bit. Pete, I imagine given its similarity to other things like Head Lopper and whatnot, you might've liked it as well? Pete:                Oh, I really loved it. I especially loved the first story, thought it was really cool. It's fun to see things that are cute be violent. But man, it was fun- Justin:              Yes. Are you Soggy or Jimbo that little bunny? Pete:                Yeah. I think that… Don't call him little. You [inaudible 00:40:41]- Justin:              Oh, I thought you weren't going to take the bait and then you did. [crosstalk 00:40:45]- Pete:                It was like that fish that swims by, and you're, “Wow, I missed it.” And then it's, “What's that? Is that a worm?” Justin:              [crosstalk 00:40:53]. Fish. I love worms. I'm a fish. I love worms even though I never encounter them because I live in the water. But let try that worm it's exotic to me, because it lives over the ground. Pete:                Yeah. The arts in this is really cool. It's all ages, but really it doesn't feel it's pandering to children or anything like that. There's a lot of cool action and adventure. I think this is a cool book. Alex:                 What I like about this is, it's an Orc, never ending story. Pete:                I thought it to be more of a 13 going on 30 myself. Oh wow. Justin:              I really did like this. Especially the first bit that ends up being the grandma Orc telling a story, Pete. Grandma Orc you must be just basically coming in your pants because you've seen grandma here. Pete:                I wouldn't go that far, but then I like how the grandma trips out a little bit. That was fun. Story times over, I'm getting fucked up. Alex:                 I'm sorry, just to ask, would you not let me go that far to edge her about grandmas. Let's go down. Pete:                What? What did you say? Alex:                 Nevermind. It's not important. Justin:              [inaudible 00:42:24] broke man. Pete:                Anyway. Good book. Justin:              [inaudible 00:42:27] book. Pete:                [inaudible 00:42:28], I'm fine. Justin:              You're trying to take the baton, Pete? Pete:                I don't know. Yeah. Justin:              Some are homesick pilots- Alex:                 Yeah. Go for it. Number six, Pilots Image Comics written by Dead Waters, art by Casper Winguard. We've been really enjoying this book, I think it's so many things at the same time, but essentially it's about a girl in a punk band, maybe a heavy metal band who discovers a haunted house has to recover a bunch of ghosts, but it's so much more than that. So many different things going on. It ramps up the premise at exactly what's happening. Every single issue ends with a wild visual at the end here. This is great. I really enjoy reading this. Justin:              Yeah, me too. It was one of my favorite new books out there. Talk about visuals, the visual of the sort of videotape ghost. Alex:                 Yeah. Justin:              It was haunting. Alex:                 Yeah. Justin:              I want to see that for sure. I want to see that in some movie or film or TV show. So good. Pete:                Yeah. I also really liked lessons in this, they're like, “Yo, if you're going to join a band, it is hard, it is grueling and you might get trapped in a house and not be able to make it out.” So you got to be ready for that. Also don't fucking go into other people's houses. All right. It's not going to end well. Justin:              Two lessons. Pete:                But the art is just fantastic and they really try different, the crackly, black panels that they have that look an old book in the middle of the comic is just really cool and creepy and sets this cool tone. They keep using this shot of this window in this creepy house almost looking like it's about to explode. I'm really impressed with what they're doing with this book creatively and how they're telling this story. It keeps being just fantastic every issue. Alex:                 Great stuff. Sometimes a decision is not completely wrong or completely right. What if laws are broken while trying to get justice for others? What if you commit a cardinal sin to relieve suffering? What if you tell a lie to spare a loved one's feelings? One lie becomes two and before you know it the lines are blurred. Lena has very good intentions. She wants to manipulate the human brain to express all of our best traits. She wants a race filled with hope, empathy, and love. Lena claims she doesn’t want to control people. She is not looking to produce a City full of Zombies all bent to her will. How does Lena hope to accomplish this goal? She is seeking to take advantage of Kara’s super powers. A friend that is feeling guilty for hurting you is easy to take advantage of. Lena needs Lex’s help. His journals are at Fort Summit filled with information she needs to reach her goal. Surely retrieving them will not be hard for the Girl of Steel. Dr. Niles Jarrod was found dead in a Nightclub. This seems like it should be a top story. Andrea feels his death doesn’t have enough sparkle and is not likely to get enough clicks so move on. Luckily James has a contact at the Medical Examiner’s office. The deceased has a spider tattoo on his heart. How did that even happen? This definitely seems like a job for a Pulitzer Prize winning Investigative Reporter. Alex stops by for some much needed sister bonding and recognizes something on Kara‘s laptop. The woman wearing them is a stranger but the tattoos are familiar. Director Danvers has seen them on an alien prisoner that escaped when Lex invaded the desert facility. Maybe this is a DEO case after all. Even allegedly dead Lex is still playing a role in this story. Kara and Alex head to National City Hospital to save the next would be victim. After an epic battle the girl with the spider tattoo is taken out by an unknown assailant. She is struck dead before we can get any answers. Who does she work for? Why is she attacking doctors? J’onn enlists the help of Nia. He thinks maybe repairing his memories with her dream might be the safest approach. In the dreamscape we see Malefic as a small boy unable to enter the Martian collective consciousness. His powers are different. Malefic has the power to influence minds and bend them to his will. This power was a threat to his community so he was sent to exile. When Malefic sided with the White Martians against his own people drastic measures had to be taken. M’rynn, was already so aggrieved by what had transpired with his younger son that J’onn felt he had to take action. M’rynn was a spiritual leader of his people. How could he lead after failing Malefic? In this moment J’onn must commit the most monumental sin of his people. He banished his brother to the Phantom Zone, stripped him of his power and wiped him from the minds of all Martians. Malefic is plotting to get his power restored. Under the guise of Kelly’s friend Pete, he visits Obsidian North. He reports that he is having many symptoms of PTSD. Kelly immediately begins the Q wave treatment. In just moments the process achieved the desired effect. Malefic is immediately using his inception to control Kelly. He is trying to manipulate her into injuring herself. J’onn bursts in and tries to reason with Malefic. Instead Malefic makes a run for it. As a side effect of the Q waves Kelly now has the power to see Malefic regardless of what form he shifts into. This could spell trouble. James takes Kelly out of town to keep her safe. Kara grabbed a portal watch at Fort Summit that she gives to James just in case of emergency. Supergirl delivers the journals she took from the Fort to Lena. Within the pages she finds Lex’s plans to use Q waves to achieve mind control. Soon will all the citizens of National City be under mental manipulation? William meets an unknown man who gives him a stack of money. The identity of the man is a mystery. The reason for the payout also unknown. So many questions and so many blurred lines. This is your eye in the sky Green Butterfly. Please join us next week for another super adventure!

What do you know about the people you spend your day with? Do you know what would make them exclaim “This Is the best day ever!”? All these little facts about you are the building blocks that construct the person that you are. What if someone tried to manipulate those core elements of your personality? What if you were erased? Now you are a blank slate. You are as pure as the moment you were born, but now you are at the mercy of the person punching the keys. It is them that will dictate how you act now. They dictate what will happen next. Lena has the best of intentions. She wants to build a do no harm protocol. That sounds really great. People would no longer cause chaos or destruction to themselves or their community. It would certainly make the jobs of the Police, the Military and Superheroes easier. What about free will? Lena thinks she can solve the City’s problems by wiping the slate clean. She has used some of Andrea’s Obsidian North technology to accomplish this goal. I fear that someone else will manipulate Lena’s invention to mind control the citizens of National City. On the way to work Kara and Alex stop by J’onn’s to bring him coffee. They find him crumpled on the floor in terrible pain. He tells them that he was confronted by a brother he doesn’t even remember. The unknown Martian must be telling the truth because J’onn’s symptoms are consistent with a curse. The curse a Martian must suffer if they raise a hand against their brother. Long ago there was a Martian Civil War. The council banished J’onn’s brother Malefic to the Phantom Zone. His crime was helping the White Martians fight against his own people. J’onn’s memory was modified leaving no recollection of having a brother. The search is on for two Martians loose in the City. As a result of the curse both J’onn and Malefic are crippled with pain. Kelly’s Q wave treatment cured both brothers or their ailment. This leaves Malefic and his White Martian minion free to cause mayhem. Kara is having a tough day at work. Andrea Rojas wants to knock her Pulitzer Prize winning reporter down a few pegs. She assigns her a fashion story despite Kara having the lead on a Senate candidate. It is definitely hard to be a Superhero with a new boss giving you many deadlines to keep. Ms. Rojas doesn’t know about the Martians in the sewer. Lena is confronted by Andrea about purposely dismantling her technology. Ms. Rojas repossesses the contact lenses. What she doesn’t understand is that she is too late. Lena has already learned what she needed from the Obsidian North technology. Lena also had some help. Eve pledged her loyalty to Lena. Ms. Luthor is very wary of human friendships and wants to rely on technology alone. I don’t believe Eve understands the price she will pay to stand by Lena’s side. Lena seeks to use Eve as a host for her virtual assistant Hope. What will this do to Eve’s mind? Will there be anything left of Ms. Tessmacher when Hope has achieved her mission? What is Malefic’s next move? We will just have to tune in next time and find out. Until then this is your eye in the sky Green Butterfly wishing you all a super week.

Technology helps us every day. I am using it right now to communicate with you. When will it go too far? Are we losing our connection with reality? Will we soon reach an event horizon? How much further can we push before we reach the point of no return? Telling the truth is hard. Kara lied about her identity to her best friend. She kept making excuses for putting off telling Lena the truth. She had good reasons to justify it to herself. The consequence of waiting is that someone else may reveal the truth for you. Kara delayed so long that Lena heard the truth from Lex. Leave it to the Villian to reveal secrets and stir up trouble. A distress call from the Museum interrupted Kara and Lena’s lunch. The truth will have to wait again. There is an unknown entity in National City. She is a shapeshifter masquerading as a harmless child. Why is she zooming away in the pod that brought Superman to earth? After the battle in the Museum J’onn is left with a muddled mind. As for Supergirl she suffered the claws of a prehistoric predator. She seems ok but her cape may not survive. I wonder how Catco will spin this story? Andrea Rojas, owner of Obsidian North, has bought the paper. She is far more motivated by clicks on a headline than journalistic integrity. How will this affect Kara who is being given an award for reporting the truth? Moments before the presentation the truth pours out of Kara in a rush. Lena was immediately pulled on stage leaving Supergirl to wonder what the consequences of her deceit will be. Lena is isolating herself. She is relying on a virtual assistant. She sold Catco so she can have the capital for other projects. She argues that humans are too driven by their emotions. She is challenging herself to simulations. She is hoping to disconnect herself from her humanity. Miss Luthor is not the only one with a score to settle. The little girl I mentioned earlier was only a pawn. She was being used to gather objects her mistress needed to enter our world. Midnight materialized through a transmatter portal ready to fight. Supergirl is not the foe she seeks but J’onn J'onzz is. It was J’onn who banished Midnight to the Phantom Zone. She had aided the White Martians in destroying his whole race. Midnight sucks him into a black hole. Without a moment of hesitation Supergirl flies into action. Brainy gives her dire odds but she uses solar flares from her eyes to help J’onn. She will always be there to help her team regardless of the consequences. Maybe not a pawn after all the mysterious little girl remains. What is her mission? What will be the price to pay for deceiving Lena. She says she doesn’t want to kill Supergirl only cause her pain as she has caused Lena. She didn’t send the article to Andrea. That gives me a ray of hope that this friendship can be repaired. For now Lena is presenting a facade of forgiveness. She is a scorpion preparing to strike. This is far from our only problem. When J’onn returns to his office someone is waiting for him. Just when we are sure we know the last Green Martian another one turns up. What does he want? I have so many questions. What about Leviathan? We were told Lex failed to move the needle. Is Obsidian North the next tool that is being used. It could be a good Company. Kelly said her new job there will be helping patients with dementia and PTSD. Technology can have positive and negative effects. Will it be used to control people and bend them to the will of Leviathan? I fear Eve has reached the point of no return. She cannot run any more. This organization is everywhere. There is no escape. We will have to tune in next week to see who makes the next move. Until then this is your eye in the sky wishing you a super week.

The last time we saw the city on Arrow was when Esrin Fortuna helped Oliver take on Damien Darhk...and of course, when Hub City started to show up in showrunner Marc Guggenheim's tweets this year, there was plenty of speculation that he was teasing The Question. Turns out, he was teasing the Black Canary! BIG BELLY BURGER - Big Belly Burger, a fictional fast-food restaurant in the DC Universe, is the fast food of choice for people who are in hiding, in jail, or otherwise cut off from the world on The Flash. Here, we saw Team Arrow hanging out there in Hub City while Felicity got it delivered to her in the Arrowcave during her side quest. FAMILY SECRET - When Talia refers to her agelessness as a "family secret," it's the kind of cutesy clue that Nyssa used to drop in her early appearances, where she didn't directly name-drop Ra's al Ghul or the Lazarus Pit, but made references that were pretty clear to people in the know. Back then, of course, we always wondered whether Ra's would ever make an appearance. Now, he's come and gone, and we know that this kind of vague dialogue is mostly to keep continuity tidy so that Oliver doesn't realize exactly who he's dealing with when Ra's and Nyssa come in later. THE FLASH & CAPTAIN SINGH - In what Marc Guggenheim tweeted was the quickest crossover Arrow has ever done with The Flash, we got to see Barry speed (in costume) into his boss's office to vouch for Green Arrow. What's nice to see is Captain Singh, Barry's boss, who hasn't been seen much this season. It felt a bit like last night, when the long-absent Miss Tessmacher from Supergirl had a quick cameo on The Flash. SONUS - Sean Sonus, alias Discord is a sonic villain who fights Green Arrow and Black Canary. He first appeared in Green Arrow and Black Canary #15, and was co-created by Arrow EP Andrew Kreisberg and artist Mike Norton. DINAH DRAKE - "Dinah Drake" is actually the name of the original/Earth-2 Black Canary, who existed in the comics before Dinah Lance did. ARROW NEWS:   New Arrow Episode Gets A Russian Title As It Begins Production (Date: 30 Jan 2017) Marc Guggenheim, the show's executive producer, shared a cover of the new episode's script, and let fans know that it was beginning production. Episode 17 will be titled 'Kapot', which is a Russian word meaning 'cowl' or 'hood'. Flashbacks reveal how Rene went from simple family man to a hero named Wild Dog. Meanwhile, Oliver (Stephen Amell) must deal with the perpetrator behind the attack and realizes the best way to do so is as Mayor Queen instead of the Green Arrow. Tensions run high in the Arrow bunker. Kristin Windell directed the episode written by Marc Guggenheim (#513). Actually, when TVLine last spoke to Wendy Mericle, the Arrow scribes were in the midst of hashing out a return scenario for Little Miss Benedict Arnold. “We have a really cool, exciting twist for how she's going to reappear,” the EP teased, noting: “The interesting thing about the choices Evelyn has made is that as much as she took the moral high ground when confronting Oliver, she has allied herself with someone who is even worse,” in Prometheus. “She's gone from the frying pan into the fire.” Link:http://tvline.com/2017/01/31/bones-final-season-spoilers-booth-gordon-wyatt/   Wayback Wednesday: Watch The First Ever Trailer For Arrow (Date: 01 Feb 2017) In honor of Wayback Wednesday - and a brand new episode of Arrow tonight - it's about time to take a look back at the first ever trailer for Arrow. This footage was seen in 2012, and it talked a lot about Oliver Queen's return to the real world, after he was thought to be dead. The trailer shows Oliver on the island, beard and all, as well as his assimilation back into society. Link:http://comicbook.com/2017/02/02/wayback-wednesday-watch-the-first-ever-trailer-for-arrow/   ARROW: TINA BOLAND'S REAL NAME WILL BE FAMILIAR TO DC COMICS FANS (Date: 01 Feb 207) “Tina Boland” is her undercover name; her real name is Dinah Drake. If that sounds familiar, that's because Dinah Drake is the name of the original Black Canary. Dinah debuted in 1947's “Flash Comics” #86 as Black Canary. Later, she married a man named Larry Lance and subsequently changed her name to Dinah Lance. Inspired by Dinah, her daughter Dinah Laurel Lance would go on to become a founding member of the Justice League. When the New 52 restarted DC Comics' continuity, the Black Canary legacy was retconned, and Dinah Drake was restored as the one and only Black Canary. This New 52 version of Dinah Drake was formerly married to Kurt Lance, but the two divorced. Link:http://www.cbr.com/arrow-tina-boland-black-canary-dinah-drake/   Arrow: What is Helix? (Date: 01 Feb 2017) Helix was a supervillain group led by Dr. Benjamin Love, aka Mr. Bones. The members were six mutated children who had been experimented on and then kidnapped by Love. They grew up to be a rather bizarre cast of characters, including Kritter (a human/dog hybrid) and Baby Boom (a young child who can cause explosions with her mind). It's safe to assume that any future appearances of Helix will certainly be way more grounded in reality - with any mention of the original characters probably being used as online screennames. This is similar to the inclusion of the secret organization Shadowspire in Arrow, which was given a much more realistic makeover. When recently discussing the dynamic between Felicity and Diggle going forward, Arrow executive-producer Wendy Mericle mentioned that the events in 'Second Chances' will play into the rest of the season. "Part of what kicks [Felicity] off down this darker path is she's going to find evidence to exonerate him -- and [Diggle's] going to have to deal with the fallout of the fact that Felicity is now going down a questionable path in part because of him." With that in mind, there's a very good chance that tonight's episode will not be the last time we hear of Helix on Arrow. Link:http://comicbook.com/2017/02/02/arrow-what-is-helix/    GENERAL DC TV NEWS SUPERGIRL & MARTIAN MANHUNTER UNITE ON ‘MARTIAN CHRONICLES' POSTER (Date: 29 Jan 2017) Unveiled by David Harewood, the teaser for “The Martian Chronicles” depicts the actor as Martian Manhunter alongside Melissa Benoist as the Girl of Steel, accompanied by the tagline, “Worlds Clash. Heroes Unite.” In the episode, a White Martian arrives in National City to capture M'gann and return her to Mars, where she's to be punished as a traitor. Unwilling to allow that to happen, Hank Henshaw and Supergirl bring M'gann to the Department of Extra-Normal Operations for protection, only for circumstances to turn from bad to worse. So there's a fair amount of Flash-ness going on in Legends. I wish I could say that we were so smart to take advantage of the new timeslot and do that, but we weren't that smart. We just had already sort of been doing that organically anyway when we found out about the new timeslot. I will say this: There's a love scene in episode 11 and we were in the editing room on it — it's a love scene, it gets a little steamy — and I was joking, ‘Let's take that 9 p.m. timeslot out for a spin.'” The article has the audio of the interview with Guggenheim. As for when we'll get to see the duo in action, it looks like episode twelve, titled "Untouchable," is a good bet as it'll feature a subplot with the Scarlet Speedster helping Kid Flash elevate his game to the next level. Check out the new "Lightning Strikes Twice" poster. Details on his return are still scarce, but the actor gave EW a little tease of what to expect. “I was there last week,” he shared at Honda's “Hockey Goes Hollywood” event in Los Angeles. “I can tell you that my scenes are with Grant [Gustin] and Danielle [Panabaker]. And I may or may not be alive.” That last part is key, considering the last we saw of Ronnie, he died as a result of destroying the singularity that opened up the path to Earth-2, where that planet's Ronnie was a villain named Deathstorm. Being back on Flash is always a treat for Amell, who got to catch up with his TV wife and former superhero partner and have his first true Ronnie and Barry scene. Link:http://ew.com/tv/2017/01/29/the-flash-robbie-amell-return/   LEGENDS OF TOMORROW'S LETSCHER TEASES REVERSE FLASH'S PLAN, COLD'S RETURN (Date: 31 Jan 2017) Speaking to CBR, Letscher teased Reverse Flash's plan, and he promised that Thawne's motivation would be “a major reveal” in the next episode of “Legends of Tomorrow.” Letscher also discussed the Legion's dynamic, the upcoming return of Leonard “Captain Cold” Snart, Thawne's important “foreknowledge” of events and more. When asked about Captain Cold, he said, “He is going to be a full-fledged member of the Legion of Doom and be very valuable to them on multiple fronts. Eobard has done his homework in this regard, and he's recruited somebody who's fully on board with the Legion of Doom's mission and he also understands the complications that Captain Cold's relationship with the Legends… the psychological complications that inform Eobard and his plans.” Link:http://www.cbr.com/legends-of-tomorrow-matt-letscher-legion-of-doom-reverse-flash-captain-cold/   KEIYNAN LONSDALE TALKS WALLY'S TRANSFORMATION INTO KID FLASH (Date: 31 Jan 2017) Interview with CBR. When asked about Savitar, he said, “Savitar is the biggest threat that any of them have faced. Fortunately, Barry doesn't have to do this alone. He's always had Team Flash. Other people are getting powers. It's going to take everyone working together to stop him. Wally is super-crucial to that.” Also, he won't be singing in the musical episode. She wrote “Super Friend,” which will be performed by Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist. The episode will also feature an original song written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land, Dear Evan Hansen) called “Runnin' Home to You” that Gustin will perform. Details of her character aren't known, but it's described by the CW as “a mysterious new role that will become the new Big Bad of Season 2.” Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg said of Hatcher's casting, “No offense to any of the wonderful actresses who have also played the part, but Teri Hatcher is my all time favorite Lois Lane. To have her come back to the SuperWorld in a completely different part is an unbelievable gift to me, Greg, and the fans.” Link:http://deadline.com/2017/01/supergirl-teri-hatcher-season-2-cast-recurring-1201898430/   ‘Black Lightning' Drama Eyes Move To the CW To Join Greg Berlanti Comic Lineup (Date: 02 Feb 2017) Deadline has learned that Black Lightning, the high-profile drama based on the DC character, which had a big production commitment at Fox, is on the move and likely to land at the CW. The project comes from Greg Berlanti, king of the CW's DC universe. Fox brass ultimately decided that the superhero show was not a good fit. The CW is home of Berlanti Prods.'s four DC/WBTV superhero series —  Supergirl, Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow, which Berlanti also co-created. That makes the network a suitable home for Black Lightning, which would give the CW's DC universe its first major African American superhero. Black Lightning would be the only black superhero toplining his own broadcast series and the second currently on TV, joining Marvel's Luke Cage on Netflix. Kara & Mon El set out to track a recently sprung Livewire.  Mon El screws up guarding some civilians, & Guardian has to put his neck out to save a bystander.  He gets knocked out, and Kara learns that Guardian is James Olsen.  This goes over poorly, and Kara swears she’ll stop him from risking his life.  He tells her “Good luck with that”.  It turns out that Livewire was abducted and not rescued though, and when Winn tracks her location, he lies to Hank and Supergirl and feeds the location to James to prove their worth.  Mon El overhears the location & their plan, so he shows up to help.  Unfortunately the scientist gets the drop on Guardian and Mon El, and they get themselves captured, forcing Winn to come clean to Supergirl.  She shows up, releases everyone, and forms a temporary alliance with Livewire to stop the scientist. Supergirl even agrees to let Livewire have a running start before tracking her down again, just in case she’s decided not to be a villain anymore.  Even after fighting side by side though, in the aftermath Kara just can’t agree to support James and Winn’s vigilantism and the 3 of them agree to work separately.  Meanwhile, Hank has to save M’gann’s life after she appears to collapse in her cell.  After much reluctance, he mind melds with her and talks her out of her guilt, which stops her mind from shutting itself down.  The two reemerge as friends and she warns Hank that it was a psychic attack that shut her down, and the White Martians are coming.  Also, Mon El tells Kara how he feels and gets shut down hard.

Having Ra's al Ghul as your dad, it's likely to forge a very specific kind of person. They're close enough and different enough that I would love, at some point, to do a story with Nyssa and Talia. We'll also be dealing very directly with the fairly obvious question, which is: Wait a second, when Oliver met Ra's al Ghul, why didn't he say, ‘Hey, wait a minute, I think I met your daughter back in Russia!'” he added.Talia will arrive in “Second Chances,” the “Arrow” episode airing February 1, though it seems as though she'll only appear in the flashbacks in this particular episode. Link:http://www.cbr.com/arrows-talia-al-ghul-wont-be-a-nyssa-knockoff/   (I miss Katrina Law ~SP) Arrow: First Look at Julia Harkavy as Possible [SPOILER] (Date: 25 Jan 2017) Tina Boland, played by The Walking Dead's Julia Harkavy, was revealed to have a sonic scream, which she used to take down misogynistic bikers at a Hub City bar. And in the promo for next week's episode, titled 'Second Chances', it seems that the team tries to recruit Tina to become the new Black Canary. Whether or not Tina is convinced to become a vigilante - particularly Black Canary - is yet to be seen. While executive producer Marc Guggenheim teased that the events at the end of 'Who Are You?' "[lay] a very specific seed, with a very specific game plan on our part that we hope to see come to fruition." Link:http://comicbook.com/2017/01/26/arrow-first-look-julia-harkavy/   Neil Arrow EP Marc Guggenheim On Making Curtis More Terrific, Turning Artemis Evil (Date: 25 Jan 2017) Marc Guggenheim told Comicbook.com "If you've been watching the first nine episodes, he [Curtis] does have a tendency to get his ass kicked, as we kind of promised. As far as I'm concerned, turning Curtis Holt into a superhero is probably the biggest turn we've ever done on the show. Even more so than turning Laurel into the Black Canary. To my way of thinking, the only way you really earn that is if you show how difficult it is, and that means that Curtis ends up getting his ass kicked quite a bit. I think in episode 10, the mid-season premiere, he kind of hits bottom as far as his self-esteem is concerned, especially in light of the ultimatum that Paul gave him. Starting with episode 10 is his turn, I think, really more towards the Mr. Terrific we know from the comics." Link:http://comicbook.com/2017/01/25/arrow-ep-marc-guggenheim-on-making-curtis-more-terrific-turning-/   GENERAL DC TV NEWS LEGENDS OF TOMORROW MUST PROTECT GEORGE WASHINGTON IN NEW SYNOPSIS (Date: 21 Jan 2017) A revolution is headed to “DC's Legends of Tomorrow.” In “Turncoat,” the episode airing February 7, the team will head back to the year 1776 and find themselves embroiled in the Revolutionary War — and the aberration that brings them to that time will lead them directly to George Washington, the first president of the United States of America. The synopsis does include an important piece of information: the Waverider has been grounded. According to the synopsis, the Waverider is “incapacitated,” which likely means the Legends are stuck in whichever time they've landed in. Link:http://www.cbr.com/legends-of-tomorrow-must-protect-george-washington-in-new-synopsis/   THE FLASH TO INTRODUCE LIFE-DRAINING META-HUMAN IN ‘UNTOUCHABLE' (Date: 20 Jan 2017) Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) will go up against a meta-human who can kill with just a touch in the February 7 episode of the CW's “The Flash.” Matthew Kevin Anderson will guest star as Clive Yorkin, a meta-human serial killer who claims his victims by making them decompose at an accelerated rate. Fans of the “The Flash” comic book series will know stakes are high when Clive Yorkin is around. In the comics, Yorkin is a career criminal responsible for everything from robbery to murder. While imprisoned in solitary confinement, Yorkin is experimented on, causing the pleasure and pain receptors in his brain to be effectively reversed, and allowing him to drain the life essence from a person through touch. According to a new synopsis for “The Martian Chronicles,” the “Supergirl” episode that airs on February 6, the White Martians will track her down in order to try her as a traitor to Mars. However, they'll have to get through Supergirl and Martian Manhunter first. Unlike her peers, M'gann showed remorse over the actions her people had taken against the Green Martians. As such, she escaped to Earth and hid out in Central City, acting as a bartender at Maggie Sawyer's favorite dive bar. This way, she remained undiscovered — that is, until now. Link:http://www.cbr.com/supergirl-white-martians-attack-in-new-episode-synopsis/   Chris FIRST DETAILS OF FLASH/SUPERGIRL MUSICAL EPISODE REVEALED (Date: 20 Jan 2017) The musical episode is titled “Duet,” and will take place on the March 21 edition of “The Flash,” with a lead-in on the March 20 episode of “Supergirl,” similar to how last fall's four-show crossover between The CW's DC Comics-based shows kicked off with a short lead-in scene on “Supergirl.” This falls roughly a year after the first TV meeting between “The Flash” and “Supergirl,” which happened on the “Worlds Finest” episode of “Supergirl” in March 2016. “Duet” will be directed by Arrowverse veteran Dermott Downs, who has helmed multiple episodes of “The Flash,” “Supergirl,” “Arrow” and “Legends of Tomorrow.” The episode will include musical numbers from “The Flash” stars Grant Gustin, Jesse L. Martin and Carlos Valdes; “Supergirl” stars Melissa Benoist and Jeremy Jordan; and “Legends of Tomorrow” co-star Victor Garber and “Arrow” regular John Barrowman, showing that the episode will also include Arrowverse vets known for their singing chops, even if they aren't part of the “Supergirl” and “Flash” casts. Link:http://www.cbr.com/the-flash-supergirl-musical-episode-crossover-details/   Neil FLASH / SUPERGIRL MUSICAL CASTS GLEE'S DARREN CRISS AS MUSIC MEISTER (Date: 23 Jan 2017) This March's musical crossover between “Supergirl” and “The Flash” is going to be one big “Glee” reunion. TVLine reports that Darren Criss, who rose to fame as Blaine Anderson on “Glee,” will appear as Music Meister in the two-episode crossover event. Link:http://www.cbr.com/the-flash-supergirl-musical-darren-criss-music-meister-glee-casting/   SUPERGIRL STAR SENDS A MESSAGE TO TRUMP AT MARCH ON WASHINGTON (Date: 21 Jan 2017) Thousands of demonstrators descended today on Washington, D.C., for the Women's March on Washington, just one day after the inauguration of President Donald Trump.Among the crowd in the nation's capital, which organizers estimate could grow to as high as 500,000, is none other than “Supergirl” star Melissa Benoist, whose handmade sign sends a pointed message to the new president while giving a nod to her role as the Girl of Steel. The message of course refers refers to the widely publicized and condemned audio recording from Trump's 2005 appearance on “Access Hollywood,” in which the former reality-TV star boasted about kissing women and grabbing their genitals. Link:http://www.cbr.com/supergirl-star-trump-march-washington/   THE FLASH'S GYPSY MAY HAVE POWERS SIMILAR TO CISCO'S (Date: 21 Jan 2017) When Gypsy arrives on “The Flash,” Cisco “Vibe” Ramon may just learn a thing or two about the way his own powers work. Executive producer Aaron Helbing said, “Gypsy is a very formidable adversary. He never realized the extent of his powers, and because of seeing Gypsy, he's going to become more and more in tune with his powers and what he can do, whether it's crossing dimensions or opening breaches much faster and quicker. He's going to be building confidence, and that'll definitely play into the rest of the season of helping Barry and the team stop Savitar from killing Iris.” Link:http://www.cbr.com/the-flash-cisco-ramon-vibe-gypsy-metahuman-superpowers/   Neil Supergirl plans Maggie/Alex-centric Valentine's Day episode (Date: 24 Jan 2017) Here's what we know: Alex (Chyler Leigh) is super excited for her first Valentine's Day with a girlfriend, but Maggie (Floriana Lima) is not keen on the Hallmark holiday, which leads to their first real fight. But Maggie will make it up to Alex by recreating a special night — note the corsage on her arm! Further details on the hour, like who else might be spending the holiday together, are being kept under wraps, but the Valentine's Day episode will air on Feb. 13. Link:http://tvline.com/2017/01/22/the-flash-season-3-episode-10-preview/   Supergirl Just Made A Big Legion of Super-Heroes Nod and Basically Told Us What's Up With Mon-El (Date: 23 Jan 2017) Will Supergirl bring the Legion of Super-Heroes into the series? It certainly seems like it. Hell, even director Kevin Smith, who helmed tonight's episode of The CW's hit sophomore series, thinks so. Got Smith has got good reason to believe it: During the course of the episode, at one point a frustrated Mon-El calls out "grife!" That's basically "Damn it!" In Legion-speak. The 31st Century team naturally have some slang that's particular to them...although it could turn out that's just a common exclamation in Interlac within the TV universe of Supergirl. That impression was rooted, in part, in the fact that fans have already seen evidence that the Legion not only exists in the world of Supergirl, but has a relationship with Superman. In the season 1 episode "Fortress," Supergirl headed to Superman's Fortress of Solitude for the first time and one of the first things the audience saw was a Legion of Super-Heroes flight ring mounted on a crystal dais inside. Lest you think that the "grife" was a clear indicator that Mon-El's long-teased secret is just that he knows of the Legion, that's probably not the case. When a Maaldorian was shooting at him, a Dominator stopped the shot, saying that Mon-El was to be spared. He then gave Mon-El a deep bow. Ambassador Controversy (Date: 19 December 2016) “There are so many horrible things that are going on in the world, and this is what you're protesting, seriously?” Gadot said about the backlash during a recent chat with TIME. She continued, “When people argue that Wonder Woman should ‘cover up,' I don't quite get it. They say, ‘If she's smart and strong, she can't also be sexy.' That's not fair. Why can't she be all of the above?” Of course, Gadot is not the only baffled by the controversy. Protestors demanded Wonder Woman be removed from her honorary position because some felt it was inappropriate to have a busty white woman carry the torch. However, fans from around the world are now rallying behind Wonder Woman and emphasizing that her beauty in no way negates her inspirational history. Already, there are dozens of online petitions running which ask the U.N. to reinstate Wonder Woman as an ambassador. Over on Change.org, Chloe Behrens has created a petition which asks for Wonder Woman to be reinstated as an ambassador. Here's what the ranking had to say about the supervillain flick: “Anticipation was high for the first big-budget movie lead by supervillains. All the signs were good with a cast that included Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as the Joker and Margot Robbie as the baseball bat-wielding troublemaker Harley Quinn. Robbie stole the show and the film helped position her as IMDb's top star of 2016. And while there were naysayers for the film, written and directed by David Ayer, Suicide Squad took more than $745 million at the worldwide box office and made it the most popular movie on IMDb in 2016.” Link:http://comicbook.com/2016/12/20/suicide-squad-is-the-most-popular-movie-of-2016-on-imdb/   The Flash (Season 3) - Official (Date: 21 Dec 2016) Official promo for Flash season 3.5. (Date: 19 Dec 2016) As part of an effort to reach the widest possible audience, The New 52 had downplayed Oliver Queen's left-wing politics. When Rebirth came around, though, one of the things that Percy seemed to be saying was that being a political animal was so engrained in Oliver's persona that removing it left the character missing something that hadn't been replaced. On sale March 15, Green Arrow #19 sees the Emerald Archer and his former sidekick Arsenal going up against...well, it's not exactly explained, but without larger context? It sounds a lot like the Dakota Access Pipeline project. Here's the solicitation text: “Orphaned as an infant and raised on a Navajo reservation, the superhero Arsenal returns to his adopted home to defend it from a violent militia hired by…Queen Industries?! Oliver Queen's company has been up to no good since his supposed death, but Green Arrow is on the scene to make things right. Unfortunately for Ollie, he's the last person his former sidekick wants to see.” Link:http://comicbook.com/2016/12/19/is-green-arrow-going-up-against-the-dakota-access-pipeline-in-ma/   DC's REBIRTH Gets Its Own Trailer (Date: 20 DC 2016) Seven months into DC Comics' "Rebirth" era, the publisher has released a trailer highlighting it as the start of "the next big epic." The trailer, done to coincide with the release of the first collections from "Rebirth," can be seen here: Link:http://www.newsarama.com/32451-dc-s-rebirth-gets-its-own-trailer.html Wonder Woman writer and artist dropped by DC over 'challenging relationship' (Date: 20 Dec 2016) The critically acclaimed, Eisner-nominated comic series The Legend of Wonder Woman has been cancelled by DC Comics, because of what a spokesperson for DC called “a challenging relationship” with the husband and wife team behind the series. Since the cancellation was announced, fans have been wondering whether it was due to poor sales, or studio sexism towards Wonder Woman. However, the DC spokesperson told the Guardian that though “we loved the book and we were very excited to work on the collected volume”, the studio was concerned about Dillon's public comments about other teams at DC on social media. In a series of now-deleted tweets, preserved online on Bleeding Cool, Dillon criticised the writing in another DC series, Wonder Woman: Earth One, and complained when DC approved future volumes of Earth One while he was waiting to hear about the future of his own series. “It is an unfortunate situation. We tried hard to make it work,” the DC spokesperson said. J'onn asks that Mon-El stay at the DEO until he is fully examined. An alien body is found, and the DEO track down the murderer, who is kidnapped by unknown armed men. Maggie and Alex track him down to a secret facility hosting people of high political and economical status run by a woman, later identified as Veronica Sinclair, also known as Roulette. The aliens are forced to duel, sometimes to the death. They spot M'gann as a contestant before Kara intervenes and is attacked by an alien called Draaga, who overpowers her and escapes. J'onn confronts M'gann, who says that she believes herself guilty of surviving the extinction of her species. Veronica abducts J'onn and M'gann. Using Lena, Kara finds the address, where J'onn and M'gann are forced to duel until J'onn convinces her to stop blaming herself and they refuse to continue. When they are attacked by Draaga, Kara arrives and defeats him thanks to Mon-El's advice, dissuading the other aliens from protecting Veronica, who is arrested but later released by orders from higher up. Alex asks Maggie to get a drink before Maggie's date arrives, while Kara decides to train Mon-El. M'gann secretly shapeshifts to reveal that she is a White Martian.

Hello fellow DC Nationites, Fanterns, and Young Justice junkies and welcome back (or for some of you, welcome) to Across the Airwaves' DC Nation Podcast, and boy do we have a special one for you guys today! On this episode of DC Nation, hosts Dan & Michael are guested by none other than   Green Lantern: The Animated Series writer of "Blue Hope" and "Scarred": Jeremy Adams! So, for the first hour and 15 minutes, the Terrific Trio discuss GL:TAS, specifically Jeremy's episodes of the series, and get a "behind-the-scenes" feel of how the show is created. But if you thought that talking Green Lantern for over an hour wasn't enough, Dan & Michael also cover the DC Nation Short - Amethyst: Level 6! But that's not all as the Dynamic Duo continues to cover the Young Justice: Invasion episode "Intervention", where the two get into some talk about Zatanna's use this season, Blue Beetle, and how Batgirl works on the Young Justice Team. After that there is also some talk about the Smallville Season 11 issue #36, "Effigy, Chapter 3", where the boys have an interesting theory on just who the White Martian that Batman and J'onn J'onzz are hunting may be. All this and much more on this week's DC Nation Podcast, so be prepared! Michael's review of this week's Smallville Season 11 issue can be found on the Superman Homepage: HERE.

Hey guys, and welcome back to DC Nation! This week on ATA's DC Nation review, Dan and I talk about the 3rd episode of Green Lantern: The Animated Series entitled "Razor's Edge" and the 21st episode of Young Justice entitled "Images". We also talk about this weeks DC Nation Shorts, including the Batmobile feature, the Shazamwich! (in which I will memorize for the next episode), and the new Super Best Friends Forever short. There was a lot of discussion on this episode about a new DC Animated Universe (in which, we believe, Green Lantern takes place), DC Nation's upcoming series for November: Beware the Batman, White Martians, Young Justice Invasion, moles, Beast Boy, and my "Superfriends announcer voice"! We have also added a new section to our DC Nation reviews entitled "A Child's Perspective". In this section, we see DC Nation in the eyes of a 7 (soon to be 8 ) year-old! All this and more on the latest DC Nation!
