This week's episode of Potato Salad Marmalade finds Dad stuck in space after being jettisoned through the portal by Not-So-Nice Guy Guy a week ago. How awful is that? Fortunately for the ol' man, he's made a new friend up there that he can't wait for you to meet, but he still needs to find a way back to Earth before it's too late. There's NO oxygen up there to breathe and he's going bonkers from the boredom. Meanwhile, Carter is hard at work trying to come up with a solution to save his dad. He's in the science shed trying to make things happen - there's no way he's going to let this stand. As the situation becomes more urgent, S.Hawn and Jeffrey the Astronaut take over the show to keep viewers updated on the space rescue efforts - or maybe just talk about strawberry ice cream. We can't tell with these guys. We think they just like to host, honestly. In the midst of all this chaos, Not-So-Nice Guy Guy continues his relentless assault on the team and THE WORLD. Can Carter must find a way to save the day and bring his dad back home? Will the show ever get back to normal? Tune in to this week's episode of Potato Salad Marmalade to find out! Things take a turn for the worse when Carter is unexpectedly fired from the show. Left feeling demoralized and defeated, Carter turns to a familiar ally in his quest to regain his mojo – Christopher Pickles. As Carter seeks out Pickles' guidance and support, Dad finds himself stuck cutting commercials, all the while pleading with the Omnopcorp board for his son's gig back. With tensions running high and the fate of the show hanging in the balance, it's up to Carter and Pickles to come up with a plan to get him back on the air. But when the nefarious "Not-So-Nice Guy Guy" continues his attack on the show, the stakes are raised to a whole new level. With their backs against the wall, Carter and Pickles must band together to fight off this dangerous threat and protect their beloved podcast. Will they be able to overcome the odds and emerge victorious, or will the attack of "Not-So-Nice Guy Guy" be the end of "Potato Salad Marmalade" as we know it? Adjeu machin !

"I'll see ya at the galleria." - one of the most famous lines in the history of television. The premise of "Check Your Mate" is a bigger stretch than usual for an episode of "Saved by the Bell." Screech, widely known as THE WORST, happens to be Bayside's chess champion. It's a big deal, to the point where the school's radio station covers the matches, cheerleaders and fans fill the stands, and everybody pretends Screech is a tolerable human being. That's not all. Screech has a girlfriend! Somebody should warn poor Violet (guest star Tori Spelling) that this mutant boy will murder you for a one in a billion chance to be with Lisa Turtle. Despite the Screech-centric story, "Check Your Mate" has it all. Lucky berets, an imposter reporter from Chessboy Magazine, a Russian chess champion with a conveniently similar physical frame to Zack Morris, kidnapping, Cold War jokes, a Valley guy named Guy-Guy, and yes, that wonderful, glorious moment about the Galleria. Tyler, Jonah and Angela dive deep into this classic episode. We don't mean to be Russian-you, but hurry up and hit that play button! Hey, Dennis Haskins - Do you know how to play chess? Why don't you contact the show and tell us all about it!

Do you follow your "Yes?"Following your "Yes" is about you taking a step forward in your partnerships by taking action and applying at least one thing you heard from our guests during their interviews this week. On today’s episode, all of this week’s guests have generously provided BONUS MATERIAL, not included in the interviews you listened to earlier this week. Each one has provided incredible examples of the power of following your “Yes”. Enjoy! Paula GroomsNot Following - Paula’s last relationship was the most profound moment where she did not follow her “yes”. She had just turned 50, she had been divorced for a while, and she did have a lot of love for this man. He was a great guy but was only a consumer, not a buyer. She ignored those signs. Find out what happened next by listening to Paula’s interview. Following - Paula now feels confident, calm, and cautious when going through the same motions in any relationship moving forward. She tells the person that she is completely ready for a fully committed relationship. She’s ready to go down that road with the person but completely respects them if they aren’t. Listen to Paula’s interview here Connect with Paula - CoachPaulaGrooms.com Facebook YouTube Instagram Twitter Linkedin Guy Finley Not Following - There was points in Guy’s life where there was no understanding at all that any demand he would place on any other human being, that they should be, do or act as I want them to, ensures that they will not do. He believed that demands were the same as knowing what’s right, but in reality it’s the exact opposite. Find out what happened next by listening to Guy’s interview. Following - Now Guy has turned that around. He understands that demands destroy relationships. They don’t nurture them. In understanding that, dare to live the truth of it so that anytime a demand appears, it’s dropped. Find out the rest of the story by listening to the podcast. We're back from a quick lull after Christopher moved to a new house. The downside is that he's not had a chance to work out the kinks in his recording rig just yet, so there's a bit of audio issues on his end. Sorry about that, and hang with us as we discuss the mayor of Flavortown himself, Mr. Guy Fieri. Guy Guy sure gets a lot of hate, but is it warranted? Probably not.We find time to rope in some other Food Network luminaries and discuss who would be more fun to hang out with than Fieri, and why spending a night on the town with Anthony Bourdain may not be the best idea.
Simply Joyful Podcast with Kristi Clover | Encouragement for your Faith and Family
Welcome to the Simply Joyful PodcastEpisode #010 with Amber Biblical Solutions for Mommy AngerShow Notes: KristiClover.com/010 Let’s be honest. Mommy anger is a real struggle for so many of us. I didn’t know I was capable of being so frustrated and angry until I had kids. My buttons get pushed, I’m sleep deprived, and exhausted…and the angry comes. There have been times when I can feel it coming and try to fight it, but I end up snapping at my kids anyway. Other times it sneaks up on me and comes out when I’m not expecting it. I’m a firm believer in the fact that God uses our kids to refine us. I may not have known that I’d struggle with anger, but God did. He’s not surprised by my sin…not one bit. I will be a work-in-progress until the day He calls me home. He just keeps offering me His grace, forgiveness, and His self control. I actually wrote about my struggle with anger in my post called Finding Joy When You’re Angry. I hope you’ll check it out. I think you’ll really like the five tips I have in there for finding joy when you feel like getting angry. I’m not a perfect mom, but I am trying to be the best mom I can be. And I’m really trying to learn how to respond in more loving ways when my kids trigger my anger. Speaking of “triggers,” my guest today is none other than my sweet friend, Amber Lia. Amber is the co-author of the book Triggers: Parents' Angry Reactions for Gentle Biblical Responses. She wrote Triggers along side Wendy Speake as Wendy and I mentioned in Episode #008. Amber is married to her husband Guy, who by the way went to Steve and my alma mater. They’ve been married for ten years and have four boys. She and Guy Guy work as a team in both their work as co-producers (they own a production company called Storehouse Media Group) and in their family life! Amber and I first met at Bloggers Night Out at the CHEA homeschool convention a couple of years ago. We were both on the panel for the event. (Now I actually organize the event…so come if you are CA in July come on out!) On a “Simply” & “Joyful” side note… I asked Amber about what she does to simplify her life and she has a great response! She gives several quick ideas to truly save time. I know you are going to like them! ** Go to: https://kristiclover.com/freedownload to get a 30 day free trial of Audible — complete with a credit for a free audiobook download. ** In This Episode In this episode, Amber and I are going to get real and share about how mommy anger has affect our lives. Amber has some incredible tips for how to manage mommy anger and where it comes from. I just know you are going to be so incredibly encouraged in this episode with Amber! Highlights from This Show… Amber and I talk about her new book, Triggers: Parents' Angry Reactions for Gentle Biblical Responses, which she co-authored with Wendy Speake. This incredible book about mommy anger was compiled from their time working with their online ministry called No More Angry MOB (Moms of Boys). Mommy anger is a real thing! Amber thought that is was only her "real thing." Then she learned that she wasn't alone. Triggers chronicles her journey through learning how to turn to God with her anger. It has given hope and has transformed thousands of families. Many moms get trapped in the cycle of anger and aren't sure what to do. The book goes over 31 common triggers that parents have. They divide it into external triggers and internal triggers. Amber Lia shares overarching tips and advice for moms who are struggling with anger. “It takes a childhood to train a child.” -- Amber Lia “In a practical sense, do not set your expectations too high for yourself or for your kids. Give them a long, long leash to learn whatever it is you’re trying to teach and train them.” -- Amber Lia It's easy to feel alone in your struggles with anger...because we don't typically broadcast it when we lose it. It doesn't really look good on our Facebook highlight reel. Ha! However, when Wendy and Amber started this No More Angry MOB Facebook group...they had over 1,000 moms join in the first week. "There's a lot of people out there who have nowhere to turn, because they are embarrassed and don't want to let people know that they get angry -- and that they don't know what to do about it." -- Amber Lia "If we're not letting people know our weaknesses, then we're missing out on a community that can help us grow toward change." -- Amber Lia “Guilt defeats, but conviction catapults you toward spiritual growth." -- Amber Lia Amber and I both talk about the importance of helping your child come up with a solution to the whatever problem they are repeatedly having. “I want to know my kids. I want to know how they think. I want to know what matters to them, what’s important to them. Each of their personalities is different. Getting their input and getting them to take some ownership for these issues is a loving thing to do.” -- Amber Lia I ask Amber what it’s like working in the entertainment industry as a Christian. She responds by asking for prayer. So, I wanted to ask you to partner with me in praying for the Lia family. Amber and Guy are in the "thick of it" being that they are in the film industry. Having a Christian, conservation company in Hollywood definitely stirs up spiritual attack. So, please be praying for them as they seek to bless others with great quality content. Thanks! Family First Fitness with Guy Waltman was a great interview where Guy and I talk about the importance of address the family first. Now we've all heard or talked about who should we be addressing when it comes to health and wellness. Should we try to reach the parents, should we try to reach the kids first....suppose it sounds like the 'the chicken or the egg' scenario where at times neither seems right at times. Where Guy brings up the interesting topic and incredibly valid points where explains neither one or the other is correct. In fact, if you really want to reach a family you do just that, you address them all at once as a unit, as a family. Who is Guy? Guy is a certified personal trainer, weight-loss specialist, certified group fitness instructor, and youth fitness specialist. He is also a motivational speaker and coach for the NFL's Fuel Up to Play 60. Guy has developed F3™ to focus on Family, Education, and Fitness - the three priorities that Guy believes are essential to health and wellness. Guy's passion stems from the incredible bond he had with his father - who tragically lost his life due to obesity. Under Guy's leadership, F3 hopes to forever be a source of guidance for those seeking positive lifestyle changes, while promising to fight for those who cannot help themselves. Show Notes: Guy's personal story on how he lost his father living in an 'instant' society with quick fixes heath and wellness doesn't always have to mean 'exercise or fitness' living a healthy lifestyle spending quality time with family while being active fitness needs to be fun! turn fitness into a habit make your family your supportive environment make fitness relatable 3 Tips from Guy to Improve Your Health #1. Nutrition - get your children involved in nutrition in any way possible. Have them help at the grocery store, prepare meals, pick snacks, etc. #2. Manage your stress through exercise.
