The shocking saga of former attorney Alex Murdaugh continues to unfold as he pleads guilty to a string of financial crimes that left families across the state betrayed and suffering. Among these families is that of Gloria Satterfield, a beloved housekeeper, whose legacy has inspired a foundation aimed at helping those in need. Gloria Satterfield, a dedicated mother and devoted worker, tragically lost her life in a fall at the Murdaughs' Moselle property on February 2, 2018. In the aftermath of her passing, Alex Murdaugh, the family's attorney and friend, approached Gloria's loved ones with promises of support. "He said he would make sure the boys were taken care of," recalls Gloria's sister, Ginger Hadwin. "He was just looking out for the boys because he thought a lot of Gloria and he was just going to make sure [her sons] Brian and Tony were taken care of, and to show his appreciation for all the years that Gloria had shown her love, looking out for his family and his boys." With Murdaugh's guidance, the family pursued wrongful death and survival claims. However, their trust was shattered when they discovered that their case had been settled for a staggering sum of over $4 million, a fact that Murdaugh had concealed from them. "It made me sick to my stomach," says Tony, Gloria's son. The extent of Alex Murdaugh's deceit became evident when he was arrested in October 2021, facing more than 100 financial crime charges, revealing that Satterfield's family was not the only victim of his fraudulent actions. Last month, Murdaugh, already serving a life sentence for the murder of his wife Maggie and son Paul in June 2021, pleaded guilty to 22 financial crimes, including money laundering, breach of trust, and financial fraud. Prosecutors disclosed that Murdaugh had defrauded over 18 clients of millions over a decade. Creighton Waters, the lead prosecutor in both Murdaugh's financial crimes and murder cases, emphasized the devastating impact of Murdaugh's deception. Waters stated, "The wreckage that was left is unprecedented. This was as egregious as it comes." Waters added that Alex Murdaugh had used "trust" as a "weapon," exploiting his charismatic and friendly demeanor to deceive numerous victims. He would get "knocked out" and staffers would drag him off the court. What WASN'T planned was McGregor punching him twice with full force. The guy in the costume had to go to the ER. He's going to be okay, and back for their next home game... In Other News... A PGA Golfer Adam Hadwin was celebrating the dramtic victory of his friend at a recent tournament... Hadwin ran on the course spraying champagne, when security thought he was a random fan running on t , and security crushed Adam Hadwin. Stephen Curry scored 34 points for the Warriors, who claimed the franchise's seventh championship overall. And this one completed a journey like none other, after a run of five consecutive finals, then a plummet to the bottom of the NBA, and now a return to greatness just two seasons after having the league's worst record. For Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala, it's a fourth championship. WNBA – Women's National Basketball Association Tonight Atlanta Dream at Chicago Sky, 8:00 p.m. WNBA – Storm star Sue Bird says 2022 will be her final WNBA season Seattle Storm star and five-time Olympic gold medalist Sue Bird says the 2022 season will be her last playing in the WNBA. The 41-year-old considered retirement after last season before returning for a 19th season as a player. She missed two seasons because of injuries. As for the timing of her retirement, she says “you just know when you know.” Bird is a four-time WNBA champion, 12-time All-Star and the oldest player in the league. It was the low point of a round of 8-over 78 that left him in a tie for 144th place. This marked the sixth straight time Lefty has failed to break par in the opening round of the U.S. Open. The fans were mostly civil. Lots of shouts of “Go Phil,” and “Happy Birthday, Phil,” for the six-time major winner who turned 52. This marked Mickelson’s first tournament in America since January, when he went on hiatus after his comments about LIV Golf first surfaced. Mickelson is getting a reported $200 million to play on he breakaway tour and has been suspended from the PGA Tour. FIFA – FIFA picks 2026 World Cup cities, predicts US `No 1 sport’ Atlanta, Houston, Miami, Philadelphia and Seattle and Kansas City, Missouri, were the newcomers among the 11 U.S. sites picked to host games at the 2026 World Cup, while Baltimore, Cincinnati, Denver, Nashville, Tennessee, and Orlando, Florida, were left out. Arlington, Texas; East Rutherford, New Jersey; Foxborough, Massachusetts, and Inglewood and Santa Clara, California, were the holdovers. Mexico City's Estadio Azteca, which hosted the 1970 and '86 finals and will become the first stadium in three World Cups, was selected along with Guadalajara's Estadio Akron and Monterrey's Estadio BBVA. Toronto's BMO Field and Vancouver, British Columbia's B.C. Place were picked while Edmonton, Alberta's Commonwealth Stadium was dropped. FIFA – Excitement and disappointment as World Cup 2026 cities named Cheers and sighs met FIFA's announcement of the host cities for the 2026 World Cup. NCAA – Transfer window recommendation to NCAA board for approval The NCAA's Division I transformation committee will recommend changes to transfer rules and the infractions process before the end of June. The committee wants to establish designated time periods when college athletes can declare their intent to transfer and be eligible immediately at a new school. The transfer windows would set set on a sport-by-sport basis. The intent behind the change is to provide structure and clarity for athletes and coaches. Updates to the infractions process would be made in the hopes of making investigations more timely and holding rule-breakers accountable. NCAABSB – Clemson hires Michigan’s Bakich to revive baseball program Clemson has hired Michigan coach Erik Bakich to revive a Tigers’ baseball program that missed the NCAA Tournament the past two seasons. The school announced the addition on Thursday. Bakich’s hiring was approved by the school’s board of trustees. Bakich received a six-year contract that starts him off at $850,000 for next season and increases $50,000 each year through 2027-28. Bakich has led the Wolverines to five NCAA Tournament appearances since 2015. Michigan was the national runner-up in 2019. Bakich takes over for Monte Lee, who was fired after seven seasons. The transfer windows would set set on a sport-by-sport basis. The intent behind the change is to provide structure and clarity for athletes and coaches. Updates to the infractions process would be made in the hopes of making investigations more timely and holding rule-breakers accountable. NCAABSB – Clemson hires Michigan’s Bakich to revive baseball program Clemson has hired Michigan coach Erik Bakich to revive a Tigers’ baseball program that missed the NCAA Tournament the past two seasons. The school announced the addition on Thursday. Bakich’s hiring was approved by the school’s board of trustees. Bakich received a six-year contract that starts him off at $850,000 for next season and increases $50,000 each year through 2027-28. To me, there's no better person to talk about the beauty each one of us can have (besides Jesus lol) is Stephanie Hadwin. Stephanie has spent more than twenty years in the beauty industry and she has her own store in New Jersey. At her shop called "Hadwin House," she makes her own candles and other goods to sell. She is a wife and mom to two boys. Her family helps her in her shop and she takes time to meet her customers and share God's word with them. In this episode, she tells us she has some Bibles for sale in her shop, and the other day she gave a woman a Bible who said she had never held a Bible! Wow! We propose some changes to this plan where no current PGA Tour player will lose his card. And we also hit on the possibility that more top players may just stay home for awhile. Then we get to Adam Hadwin’s apparent contempt for the potential of having to putt with a flagstick in the cup. We round things up with Monty’s comments on testing, ponder who the Admiral might be, and discuss the catnip of JT and Rickie playing with balatas and persimmon on Sunday.
