Jared Leto's Joker is getting more unsettling for the Snyder Cut With anticipation for the Justice League Snyder Cut climbing, Zack Snyder just unveiled eerie looks for Jared Leto as The Joker in the movie. In March 2021, fans are finally going to see how the Justice League movie could originally have turned out, as Zack Snyder gears up to release his cut. Amidst soaring expectations, Snyder has now revealed new images of Jared Leto as the Joker, who became part of Snyder's line-up after HBO Max offered him the opportunity to release his own cut. I'd always wanted to explore the death of Robin. And if there ever was going to be a next movie, which, of course, there probably won't be, I wanted to do a thing where in flashbacks we learn how Robin died, how Joker killed him and burned down Wayne Manor, and that whole thing that happened between he and Bruce.” Snyder explained. He also elaborated on his plans to show “how they became like this … how he hurt him in a way that no one has, really. The Rekt krew reviews DC's Suicide Squad and this is our breakdown:  The movie is pretty fun and visually rewarding, with charismatic performances by Will Smith as "Deadshot", Viola Davis as "Amanda Waller" and Margot Robbie as "Harley Quinn" (who arguably steals the movie.) On the other hand Jared Leto's "Joker" seems over-the-top and his presence in the movie is all but pointless. There are a lot of plot holes and tropes and dumb moves in the movie, but they are for the most part forgivable. What is hard to swallow, however is the desperate sense you get of the DC franchise trying to hectically catch up with the Marvel Universe with all it's branches and spin-offs. Whereas Marvel painstakingly earned its place with over a decade of origin stories and character development, this movie (like Batman v Superman) is trying to cash in on the franchise racket too quickly, and this is glaringly obvious in the film. We end the show with Paul's "Illuminati Corner", where he points out some of the more blatant occult symbolism sprinkled all throughout Suicide Squad. Shark and Erik are skeptical but if you are into spotting pyramids and pentagrams and all-seeing-eyes and Babylonian symbology and Luciferian transhumanism themes - this movie is for you!

This past week, DC and Warner Brothers pushed out their first comic book team-up film and it stars a cast of villains instead of heroes. But is it any good? On this week's episode, we're digesting it all, from Jared Leto's Joker to the Justice League tie-ins. Your Graphic Novice hosts are far too mature to address the connotations related to the number of this episode (because we're saving that for episode 69.1).  While we still consider ourselves a comic book podcast, it always seems to take a while before we get to comics and this week's episode is no exception. Nickel's cabin restoration continues, we are once again forced to address moon wars, and various podcast feuds that we have going on, and on a more serious note, Mrs. VF pays a visit to the hospital (she's ok). Internet troubles (that you might not notice due to VF's magical editing) plague the podcast and almost shut us down for the night, but through sheer perseverance, and several additional alcoholic beverages, we forge ahead to comic news, where we discuss our thoughts on the new Fantastic Four movie, Jared Leto's Joker, and Batman vs. Robin. "Rapid-Fire Review" is actually reasonably rapid for once, as we decide to limit the discussion from a few selected books from each of July 15, July 22 & July 29, 2015.
