Jesse Fox, associate professor in the school of communication, researches the effects and implications of new media technologies, including virtual worlds, video games, social network sites, and mobile applications. Virtual reality has gone through booms and busts in the 15 years she's been studying it, so she talks about what it can and cannot do (ex., VR isn't an empathy machine) with David Staley on this week's Voices of Excellence

Thank you for hitting play. I am your host Timothy Kimo Brien and I bring my experience with podcasting since 2006 as a listener and a podcaster. I am here to help you outsmart the algorithm and find your next bingeworthy podcast. Here is how the show works, I comb the millions of podcasts currently available for free on various platforms and then I come back to you with what I have found. Sure you can use the search engines for recommendations from many podcast apps, but I feel that getting a personal recommendation from a real live breathing person is still the best way to find the gems that are out there. In this episode I will be reviewing a podcast that I found based in my hometown Rockford Illinois called Christian AF. The genre of this podcast is in the Religion/Spirituality/Christian area. You can find them at ChristianAFPodcast.com and their email address is christianafpodcast@gmail.com. They are on Facebook and Instagram @ChristianAFPodcast and Twitter @ChristianAFpod. Your hosts for this podcast are Evan Savage, Jen Gorman and Jesse Fox. When I was looking for the first podcast to review I looked for a podcast based in my hometown and this one caught my eye naturally from the title. So they are doing something right I the naming of their podcast because it grabbed me immediately. A typical episode starts off with one of the hosts letting us know what the topic of the show is going to be about and they do have catchy episode titles like Did Mary Smash and God Behaving Badly. I really like their honest discussions and they way they go about tackling their topics. Most people say don't discuss politics or religion, but the hosts here throw that caution to the wind and get down and dirty with their faith and beliefs and really get to the heart of their belief. Is it the perfect show, no, there isn't a perfect show out there, but these folks really make an effort to put out their ideas in a way other people can understand and relate with. Data for Christian AF Website Hosts: Evan Savage, Jennn Gorman, Jesse Fox Avg ep length 60 minutes Frequency biweekly First published 1 April 2020 Host Description: A pastor, a musician, and a photographer walked into a bar…and left with a podcast..."Christian AF was born after a few long conversations over good beers, where we realized that life, and faith, aren't as simple as we grew up believing. We started wondering why asking questions was frowned upon, or why we had to accept what we've always been told as the truth. Maybe some things aren't as black and white as we'd like to think. So, we set out to create a space to have an HONEST dialogue that welcomes questions, doubts, and fears about faith, church culture, and everything in between. The three of us behind the mics are no experts, but our goal is to help listeners start asking questions or maybe even find some answers. Christian AF is a podcast for people that are over church, have been burned by church, don't get church, or have been told not to question their faith. So as we like to say, kick back, grab a drink, and start questioning! Jesse Fox comes from a large family. The amazing thing is that every child has graduated from college, almost half of them with graduate degrees. Jesse is a chiropractor in the Phoenix area. He never intended on ending up in Arizona, it was not in his plans. But, when the Lord points you in a specific direction, you go. He's learned that about a lot of other aspects of his life as well. I'm grateful for the time Jesse gave to us so we could hear his testimony and how the Gospel of Jesus Christ affects every part of his life.
Mi nombre es Fox... Jesse Fox...

Today's guest is Jesse Fox. Jesse is an actor, director and theatre-maker based in London. He trained on the Collaborative and Devised Theatre BA Acting course at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, where he's now a regular Visiting Lecturer. Jesse is the co-founder of the devised theatre company, Engineer Theatre Collective, which creates stories based on interview-led research processes, through highly collective working methods, using actor improvisation as a means of creating text, and a strong emphasis on design elements, such as sound and lighting. The company has twice been nominated for Best Ensemble at the OffWestEnd Awards and Jesse, himself, was twice nominated for Best Director. The work of Engineer Theatre Collective has been reviewed and featured in numerous prominent publications, such as The Times, The Guardian, and The New Yorker. As a freelance actor, he has worked for the BBC and ITV and, in 2019, was one of the three lead roles in the play ‘Afterglow' at the Southwark Playhouse. In 2021, Covid permitting, he will take on the lead roles in ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof' and ‘Sense and Sensibility' for the Pitlochry Festival Theatre summer season. For someone who doesn't see himself as ‘unusually creative', Jesse Fox certainly has a clear take on the creative process of bringing both a part and a play to life! He describes the various stages of unlocking the script, figuring out the speed and rhythm of movement, the physical tensions, as well as the character's motivations, linking in the process mind, body, and imagination. To Jess, acting is a highly relational process, which allows him to engage with the world and reflect it back to the audience. Debunking many myths, such as acting is showing emotions and pretend, and there's one way to prepare for a part, or that directors have all the answers, Jesse gives us a vivid insight of what it means, as an ensemble, to generate, shape and perform stories. He explains why placing and passing the focus on stage is key and describes the highly collaborative and satisfying creative process of prodding and wrestling with a text, so that what emerges, when the performance begins, is ultimately greater than its parts. I cannot wait to see his future productions and performances and hope you will enjoy his interview. Jesse is an old friend that I’ve always tried to keep in touch with because my experiences with him have always been positive. On this episode of Life In the Carolinas podcast, Carl is joined by members of the North Carolina based band, Love and Valor. The band was originally formed in 2012 by Jesse Fox and a few friends when he was a senior in High School. Jesse was the lead vocalist, guitar player and song writer. He recalled that the name of the band was inspired from an English Literature class. While the band has had different members over the years, Jesse still serves as the lead singer, guitar player and primary song writer. Many of the songs that are now performed by the band were written by Jesse. With hundreds of titles to his credit, he shares that the goal from the beginning was to do original music. While Charlie Perschau was working at the Oak House Coffee shop in Burlington, he responded to a request from Love and Valor for new band members. He put his name in the hat to be the mandolin player and before long that’s what happened. Charlie shares his colorful journey from California to the East Coast where he now celebrates life with a mandolin in his hands. Hannah Strickland is on the violin and vocals. From New York to Florida and now Elon University, Hannah’s unique approach to music and performance makes her a great fit for Love and Valor. She shares several stories about her musical journey. From light and lively to emotionally haunting, she and her violin understand how to tell a story. While Glen Bounds was not vocal on this podcast his band mates shared stories about his varied contributions as a multi-talented musician who plays the accordion, bass, banjo and harmonic. The group is an emerging Americana/Indie-Folk band based out of Burlington, NC. Their influences range from classic singer/songwriters such as Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash, to current bands like The Avett Brothers, The Lumineers, and Mandolin Orange. Most importantly they are finding their own voice. A recent survey of people participating in 401(k) plans revealed that 62% of them expect their 401(k) to be their biggest source of income in retirement. But if these accounts are so critical to retirement, why are they so often neglected? In this episode Mark Riepe talks with experts from the world of retirement plan services: Catherine Golladay and Nathan Voris. They discuss saving strategies and the major stumbling blocks that can prevent you from maximizing your 401(k). You can read more about how 401(k)s have evolved in these studies: “Defined Contribution Pension Plans: Determinants of Participation and Contribution Rates,” Journal of Financial Services Research, 2007, Gur Huberman, Sheena S. In this episode I talk to Dr. Jesse Fox about her research into how we identify with our video game avatars, how that affects how we play, and how it may affect what we take away from games. Specifically, we review a paper entitled "Playing for Love In a Romantic Video Game: Avatar Identification, Parasocial Relationships, and Chinese Women's Romantic Beliefs" and another study looking at how customizing avatars' appearances can make them more or less persuasive.
Jesse David Fox (“Good One” podcast on Panoply) joins the girls to talk education, elbow-nibbling, and how television in the Simpsons’ world is the cause of (and solution to) all of life’s problems. Vulture.com writer Jesse Fox talks to us about watching SNL as a sport. Good episode, bad episode, good season, bad season -- you keep watching at least partly because you want to see how the "team" does. We love this theory and talk forever about it. Also, Will talks about some computer programming thing (PHP framework called Laravel) and Anthony talks about the forgotten 1980 film "How To Beat The High Cost of Living."

The Succotash format is pretty much out the window this week, because I had a chance to sit down for an in-depth backstage interview with Craig Shoemaker when he was at Tommy T’s in San Francisco recently. So that takes up a bunch of show, only leaving time for a couple of podcast clips and a couple of other goodies. Plus Craig is not this episode's only interview. More on that in a paragraph or two. Regarding "Shoe", if you're not familiar with him, where the hell have you been? The guy's been around for about three decades, doing standup, acting, writing, radio...the list of stuff he's done goes on and on. Here are a few particulars: He caught fire for years as his deep-voiced character called The Lovemaster, but that is backed up by solid time served as the consummate journeyman comic. He's shot comedy specials for TV (including his most recent, Daditude), starred in films (such as Should Have Been Romeo) and even has written a couple of children's books (such as What You Have Now, Your Daddy Had Then.) He still does club dates and is the host of Laugh It Off, a live two-hour video webcast/podcast that "airs" every Monday from noon until 2 PM. I caught up with him during his recent stint in the Bay Area and it was a great time that had been put off way too long. (Craig and I hit Los Angeles about the same time in the late 80s and we ended up hanging out a bit and even writing material together for a while.) But before we corner Craig in the green room, I kick off the show with a short chat with friend-of-the-show Phil Leirness! He, of podcasting's Thje Chillpak Hollywood Hour, along with co-host Dean Haglund have kicked off a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for a new documentary project. Hieroglyph of The Human Soul features the art, philosophy and insights of actor/artist/ philosopher Leigh McCloskey. While it's not a comedic subject, I figure it's worthwhile to spare a little webtime for a guy who believes so passionate about the positive aspects of the human spirit. You can click the link above or in the side column of the SuccotashShow.com website to get in on this movie-making opportunity. The rest of the episode unwinds like so: This Week With Larry Miller Larry Miller is on the mend from the accident he had MONTHS ago. He’s still not back up to 100%, which is why they are rerunning episodes of This Week With Larry Miller over on the ACE Broadcasting network. But Larry speaks! That’s right. This week, there is a short message from him at the top of the show. So I grabbed it for you here. Apocalypse & Armageddon The guys behind this site did a funny video ad for their Commemorative Rapture Jesus Gnome. I've crunched it down to audio so you can hear, but this is funny enough to go check out on iTunes! S&M Rants I’ve featured these guys before, but it’s been a while, so thanks for the clip, guys! The S&M Rants Podcast is a weekly humor podcast featuring co-hosts Shane Birley and Monica Hamburg. Want to hear bad erotica, painful Craigslist ads or learn about Chewbacca sex fantasies? Join them - and their guest judges - for the deranged goodness. We do have a classic Henderson's Pants spot this epi. Our Burst O' Durst segment is NOT around this week, as political comic Will Durst is on a sabbatical to write a new e-book. He should be back next episode. Odds & Ends This past week I reviewed the Story Worthy podcast with guest Blaine Capatch as part of Jesse Fox's roundup in This Week In Comedy Podcasts on Splitsider.com, along with an honorable mention for Fitzdog Radio with guest Jay Mohr. You can now rate Succotash on Stitcher Smart Radio. It's just a simple Thumbs Up (or Thumbs Down) and all you have to do is click over to our listing on their site. You can also give us stars and dash off a quick review over on iTunes, which really helps us to gain visibility in the sea of over 10,000 podcasts that are out there these day. That's about it, but isn't it enough? With the two interviews and the clips we have, the show nets out at about one hour and twenty minutes. So I hope you brought enough appetite for all of it, and that you have room left to pass the Succotash. — Marc Hershon
It's January, which is S.F. Sketchfest time in San Francisco. Now in it's 11th year, Sketchfest has bcome a Big Deal in the national sketch scene, taking place in multiple venues across the city with over a hundred shows. And with some very big names gracing the stage — this year bigger than ever —the festival has gained massive attention. That was one great reason to have Cole Stratton as our guest, as he is the co-founder and co-organizer of the event. If you've never had a chance to check out S.F. Sketchfest and you're within driving distance of The City By The Bay, you should definitely try to get in to see at least one of the shows (if you can still get tickets - many of the bigger name shows sell out quick!) For the full lineup, hop over to http://SFSketchFest.com. The other great reason to have Cole on is that he's also the co-founder and co-host of Pop My Culture, a very popular podcast that's about ten years younger than Sketchfest. It made a bunch of Top 10 Podcast lists last year and just fell in as one of fleet of p'casts under the Nerdist banner. Cole and his co-host, Vanessa Ragland, make for an engaging team and have had an impressive lineup of comic and celebrity guests on their show. It's always a little more fun for me to have a fellow podcaster on a Succotash 'sode (the last time was Epi8 with Rob Celli from What Duvet Said), because they're invited to chime in on the various clips that we feature. Normally we don't play as many clips when we interview a guest but, this being one of our out-of-Studio-P interviews means that the guiding hand of engineer/producer Joe Paulino wasn't there to keep me more professional. so we have ten clips, a Burst O' Durst, a classic Henderson's Pants commercial...and the episode runs 17 minutes over our usual one hour time. We also have a Skypversation with Kelly Carlin, spoken word performer and friend-of-the-show, who is performing her show A Carlin Home Companion at S.F. Sketchfest on Friday, January 27th. Succotash News: We have merchandise! What's a podcast, after all, without something to try to sell you? Now we have it! There's not much in the "Succotashery" so far — several styles of t-shirts, coffee mugs hats and some other stuff, all sporting the spiffy new Succotash logo. We'll bring more stuff online in the coming months but, for now, click on this link (or over on the ad on the side) and check out the swag! Succotash Reminder: Yours truly is a contributing reviewer for This Week In Comedy Podcasting, Jesse Fox's delightful column at Splitsider.com. There's a fresh rack of the funniest and hottest comedy p'casts reviewed every week. For a full lineup of who Cole and I talk about on this show, it's right here! (As always, just click on a show's title to be taken to their website. All the shows are available through iTunes. And some of them (including Succotash) can be found on your smartphone or tablet's Stitcher Smart Radio app.) Pop My CultureAs is our custom whenever we have a fellow podcaster along, their show gets to ride shotgun. Cole Stratton and Vanessa Ragland's hot p'cast features guest comics, actors and celebrities chewing the fat about the latest trends, movies, music and media. The guest this clip is Jim Rash, familiar to fans of NBC TV's Community as Dean Pelton, and also co-writer of the hit movie The Descendants. The BugleThis fun news-based comedy show straddles the Atlantic with one host, John Oliver, based in New York and the other host, Andy Zaltzman, holding down the fort in England (where the show originates from.) Epi178 is a historic episode of sorts as it is the last one produced under the banner of the London TimesOnline. From here on out the lads are on their own (but if you already subscribe to The Bugle on iTunes, you should receive the new episodes without interruption.) Never Not FunnyFast n' furious Jimmy Pardo is the host of this long-running comedy podcasts - one of the firsts to get out there, actually. He's also got a pay-to-play model going for the "Pardcast", so you'll have to visit his site to get the whole magilla. You can sample every episode through a free 20 minute hunk that's up on iTunes, though. Jordan, Jesse, Go!Jesse Thorn and Jordan Morris host fast-paced conversational show. Our guest, Cole Stratton, has worked with them a lot over the years and says they're as fun in person as they sound on their podcast. In this clip they're joined by "the Bitter Buddha", comedian Eddie Pepitone. The Long Shot PodcastPepitone again? Yep, only here he's on his home turf, where he is a regular along with Sean Conroy, Jamie Flam and Amber Kenny. This quartet often has a guest but, even when they done, they hold court and laugh it up about current events, disturbing dreams and pretty much anything their wide-ranging conversations turn up. The Thrilling Adventure HourOur guest, Cole, has lots of good things to say about this imaginative show, which is a monthly comedy staple in Los Angeles as a live stage show. Done in the motif of an old-time scripted radio, the cast and their slate of impressive guests consistently deliver a great listen. And since it's meant to be a radio offering, it's translation from stage to podcast is dead on. You Made It WeirdComic Pete Holmes and his show is now part of the Nerdist network of podcastery. Patterned in the spirit of Marc Maron's WTF show, Holmes has a knack for making his guests (often fellow comedians) feel a little uncomfortable at some point in the show but seems to usually all end in laughter. Here he talks with the very funny Nick Kroll. (Side note brought up by our guest this week: Holmes is the voice of the E-Trade baby on the TV commercials!) Pod F. TompkastWe've featured this very creative show before and with good reason - host Paul F. Tompkins is one of the funniest, fastest and inventive comedians around. The scripted longform material performed on the Tompkast is difficult to do justice to in the time we have, so do yourself a favor and grab a full show soon. This My ShowPodcaster Jeremy Wein is a tribute to the idea that if you want to do a podcast, just go ahead and do it. He's not a comedian himself but he's managed to crack the code to get a lot of funny people to sit still with him long enough to do a decent interview. Here's he's caught up with NBC-TV's Parks & Recreation's Aziz Ansari. (Apologies to Jeremy - in the episode, I give out his site as ThisMyShow.com...it's actually ThisMyShow.NET) Big Pop FunAnother Nerdist family podcast? Yeah, I'm not sure why they're so prevalent on Succotash this episode — I swear there's no payola involved (but a fellow can dream, can't he?) — but they do have a quality lineup over there. This one is a young p'cast, hosted by veteran comedian Tom Wilson, most famous for his role as Biff (and Buford) Tannen in the Back To The Future movies. He's also a good interviewer as you can hear in his 3-part chat with comedian/writer/director Steve Oedekerk. We close out the show with our Burst O' Durst feature, faithfully supplied to us by the politically bent comedy stylings of Will Durst. That's it for this batch. Write me sometime at marc@SuccotashShow.com and let me know what's on your mind. You can also call into the Succotash Hotline at (818) 921-7212 and sound off about something you've heard or something you want to hear. Thanks for listening! (You are listening, aren't you?) Don't forget to pass the Succotash! — Marc Hershon
We're back. It seems I'm saying that every 'sode now for one reason or another. This time we got delayed and had some technical difficulties (which are addressed by producer/engineer Joe Paulino during the show.) Epi14 has finally dropped, as they say, and it's a doozy. So much show that we allowed it to run seven whole minutes over our usual one-hour running time! One of the main missions of Succotash is to expose you, our Gentle Listeners, to all manner of comedy podcastery, especially some of those shows you might not have even heard about, let along listened to yet. And I can proudly say that this epi does just that. There are a couple of clips from some previously visited shows but mostly you're going to hear some new stuff that hasn't popped up on everyone's radar yet. (And if it's a show you already now then congrats - you beat us to it!) We've got a couple of Studio P visits this show. One is with the owner of Studio P, the aforementioned Joe Paulino. He pops in so I can make him plug his new CD, a delightful relaxing musical blend entitled Inhale Slowly. If you like to take a break and ratchet the madness down a few notches once in a while, this collection of meditation-inspired tracks by Joe and collaborator Tim White will get you there. Click on the link to visit Inhale Slowly and pick up a copy. We also have another Boozin' With Bill segment. More intense than our previous encounters, Studio P has installed a functional wet bar and Bill forces your host to imbibe his latest concoction, the "Popper Stopper". (I've popped the formula down there toward the bottom of the blog.) Before I get to the lineup, let me remind you that you can catch my blatherings in a more focused form each week: as a contributing reviewer to This Week In Comedy Podcasts over on Splitsider.com. Jesse Fox and a handful of other opinionators each pick a comedy podcast that has caught our fancy that week and we write them up. Finally, Succotash has gone listener-supported! (Okay, so we haven't ever had a real sponsor yet...) Look over there in the right-hand column on the blog page and you'll see the shiny new Donate button. Just click away and through the miracles of PayPal, you'll be able to toss a few digital dollars into our virtual hat if you'd like to help us defay the costs of producing this fine program. We'd be much obliged and will mention your name in an upcoming show as one of our benefactors. Ok! Enough rambling. Here's who's up in Epi14 of Succotash, the Comedy Podcast Podcast. Just click on the show titles to visit their homesites... • Improv 4 Humans New in the land of podcasts, Matt Besser of the UCB Theater in Los Angeles hosts this foray into bringing some core elements of longform improv comedy to the audio arena. He's joined in this clip by Chad Carter and Sean Conroy. • Skeletor's Mouthpiece What a fun discovery! Two lads from Hertforshire, England — Scratcher and Roberts – sit 'round and snipe at issues of the day. Guest Luke McFayden in this clip, where a rebuttal letter is read in response to a notice of traffic violation received by one of the boys. • CB Radio This is our second time around with host Cameron Buchholtz, whose interviewing skills get better and better with each podcast. Here he's got pretty much a podcast exclusive with guest comedian Brody Stevens, who pulls back the curtain on his recent Twitter-perceived breakdown. • Ham Radio Also a second visit, this time from the Northwest's Brett Hamill in the form of a commercial for one of his show's mythological sponsors. (Hey! We have one of those, too!) • Plan X Network Here's a new-to-Succotash podcast. Not sure who these folks are or where they're from and I take 'em to task for it a little bit following their clip. I like to be able to give podcasters their due – most of us are slogging this out without a lot of recognition – but when your p'cast's homesite doesn't have much info on you (AND you sent us the clip yourself!), there's only so much we can say. • Pool Party Radio Hosted by Parker Arizona and Jason Frisbee (great names!), PPR is one of those free-wheeling discussion-style podcasts where folks generally shoot the shit about anything and everything. In this clip, they're talking movies and get into something I can appreciate - what I call the "pussification" of classic monsters in recent films. • FUHcast Their title stands for File Under Horrible and the hosts - Bill and Jim - toss around a number of topics that get their goats and their dander up. Even their goat's dander, occasionally. Out of Chicago, these guys channel their creativity in this clip into a sketch about Michael Jackson based recent news that surfaced regarding one of his brothers. (I don't mean to pick on these guys in particular but I hold the FUHcast up as an example of a show that could be made better simply by ramping up the audio quality - that goes for a lot of the programs out there. Nothing personal, guys - I appreciate what you're doing!) • We Hate Movies I pretty much completely mangle my mention of the four hosts' names - Andrew Jupin, Stephen Sajdak, Erik Szyszka and Chris Cabin (well, three out of four) - so apologies, gents. I love their take in this clip about the idea for a GOOD Star Wars-based TV series: The story of Lando Calrissian in a The Wire-style telling of the Cloud City story. (I'm not a squeamish guy, language-wise, and we do carry an Explicit warning on the podcast but I don't believe these fellows could cram more gratuitous uses of the word "fuck" into this clip...) As a kind of memorial to podcaster Adam Spiegelman's recently removed tonsils, we roll out three related offerings next... • Proudly Resents Adam hosts his "Cult Movie Podcast" each episode and this clip is from a recent show featuring Crystal Angel, a rare creature, indeed - she's an avowed fan of Adam Sandler's Jack And Jill movie, which has not been kindly received. Guest Judith Benezra helps to gentle roast her. • Dream Tweet Spiegleman produces what's being billed as "The Game Show To Go", hosted by comedian Jonathan Corbett. I think this clip comes from a show that was produced in a Mini Cooper (slightly creepy) and features two contestants who are trying to guess which celebrity supplied one of a trio of tweets. The prize is five bucks. (I see a future on GSN...) • Luggage Tuesdays This is the first time Succotash features a possible podcast. Mike Spiegleman, Adam's brother and a San Francisco-based comic, has a blog entitled Luggage Tuesdays and his sibling is urging him to turn his writings into a podcast. Here's one of the test segments so we can all get a taste of what that might be like. • Burst O' Durst We round out Epi14 with a visit from our fave political wag Will Durst, who shines his wry light on the Herman Cain misfire. (If you're in the San Francisco Bay Area, don't miss Will's Big Fat Year End Kiss Off Comedy Show XVII -it's all over the place the last week of the year so Google it (click the title to link to the Yelp listing for the show on New Year's Eve in Alameda.) Okay, that's it! Go pass that Succotash! — Marc Hershon
On this episode we return back to the basics and play the best new independent tracks out there right now. 2010 turned out to be a great year for independent music. This came as a surprise considering how fantastic last year was. Between Animal Collective, The xx, Phoenix and Dirty Projectors, 2009 looked like it would be hard year to beat. But, as this episode points out, 2010 gave us plenty of artistis that pushed musical boundaries and delivered new and exciting songs. In this episode Noise Pop invites our friends and colleagues to choose their favorite song of the year and give some context to their decision. Here is the guest list and their corresponding song choices: Intro - Tanlines, Real Life 2. Stacy Horne of Noise Pop & Treasure Island Music Festival - Die Antwoord, Enter The Ninja 3. Peter Arko of Ears of the Beholder - Wild Nothing, Golden Haze 4. Caleb Morairity of Yourstru.ly - Delorean, Stay Close 5. Will Abrahamson of Yourstru.ly - Big K.R.I.T., Something 6. The first installment of the 2011 Noise Pop Festival has been announced and we very excited about all of the artists. On this podcast episode we listen to 9 bands who will be playing Noise Pop this year. There are indie rock behemoths like Yo La Tengo and up-and-coming bands like Dominant Legs. As usual, Jesse Fox returns, this time to discuss his favorite artist of al time, Ted Leo, who is also playing Noise Pop. Track list is below:1. Yo La Tengo - Autumn Sweater, I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One 2. Dominant Legs - Clawing Out at the Walls, Young at Life and Love EP 3. How to Dress Well - Ready for the World, Love Remains 4. p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 12.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana} This month the podcast features an all star lineup of new songs. We at Noise Pop are particularly excited about Oberhofer, a 19 year old wonder kid who makes anyone over drinking age feel inadequate at life. We also invite back Jesse Fox to recap Treasure Island and play a song from Emerald's guitarist Marc Mcguire (no, not the baseball player). Here is the full lineup 1. Gold Panda: Snow & Taxis - Lucky Shiner 2. Pepper Rabbit: Older Brother - Beauregard 3. Avey Tare: Lucky 1- Down There 4. Oberhofer: Away FRM U - o0Oo0Oo 5. Warpaint: Undertow - The Fool 6.
