Ryan and Cindy end up the summer of 1999 with a look at SummerSlam 1999. We go to Minnesota and to this point, the only time a sitting Governor referees a main event. Among the many topics: The millennium clock hits 0 and the WWF is never, ever the same again! A very confusing #1 contendership going into SummerSlam. A run-down of Jesse Ventura's career and how he rose to political prominence. Once again, Debra wearing the good outfit at PPV and her pulling a fast one along with Mark Henry to help Jeff Jarrett. The tag turmoil match and the steady rising of the Edge/Christian-Hardy Boys feud A fun (Ryan's words, not Cindy's) hardcore match between Al Snow and the Big Boss Man that takes it to the streets of Minnesapolis. The final end to the Steve Blackman/Ken Shamrock feud, in a Lion Den's Weapons match. A very fun Shane McMahon (!) Test (!!!) match in a Love Her or Leave Her match, including the Mean Street Posse in their Hawaiian shirt attires. The Unholy Alliance dominates the Tag Team title scene. The Rock just stuck Mr. Ass's head in that large woman's ass! An entertaining enough, yet still slightly disappointing main event, including the surprising ending to both the match and the show. Triple H finishing his story the night after SummerSlam. The debut of Smackdown featuring HBK turning heel and then quickly disappearing for 8 months. The formation of the Rock n' Sock Connection, including a wild Buried Alive match featuring Triple H standing tall, until Steve Austin makes his triumphant, attempted murder return. Enjoy the show!

Among the topics: How and why Smackdown was being formatted and how a wrestling pilot show looks. The Corporation/Ministry of Darkness merger and their soon to follow theme song mash-up. Talk of how the 1-2 punch of May 3rd and 10 Raw running unopposed helped make the chasm between WWF and WCW grow into the Grand Canyon. One of Vince Russo's favorite tropes factions with silly acronyms, the Union or Union of People You Oughta Respect Shane, UP YORS forms and takes shape The Stooges beginning their epic feud with the Mean Street Posse, including setting the at the time, mark for most watched wrestling match on cable TV. The end (for now) of Sable's run atop the Women's Division and WWF in general Shawn Michaels turn as a hot cop and how he helps push along the Corporate Ministry against Austin, Rock and friends We discuss Over the Edge what happened, why it happened, why the show continued and Raw the next night We then look at Raw on May 31, where Jeff Jarrett wins the IC title, Triple H injures Mankind and the Higher Power reveals himself to Steve Austin We then watch the beginning of the next Raw with the reveal of (25 year spoiler alert) Vince McMahon as the Higher Power and how it went over as a fart bomb, but at least it's given no time to breath and immediately get Linda McMahon's new CEO announcement to set the stage for the next few weeks Enjoy the Show!
WWE Raw Is War is live in Hartford, CT! WWE Tag Team Champions The Rock and Mankind defend against Kane and his partner WWF Champion Triple H, leading Triple H to attack Kane with a sledgehammer. WWF Intercontinental Champion Jeff Jarrett battles Jacqueline, Edge and Christian challenge The Acolytes to a #1 contenders match, backstage, The Dudley Boyz and Acolytes trade attacks, GTV shows Big Show attacking Val Venis in the bathroom leading to a match, Steve Blackman and Val Venis trade kendo stick attacks, Chris Jericho has a message for Ken Shamrock, The Mean Street Posse challenge Test, Gerald Brisco, and Pat Patterson. The New Brood go against The Hollys, Al Snow dresses as Avatar, The Undertaker and Big Show challenge The Rock and Mankind to a Buried Alive Match, Mark Henry attacks D'Lo Brown with the European Title, WWF Women's Champion Ivory defends against Tori in a Hardcore Match, and in the main event WWF Champion Triple H battles Mr. Ass with Kane laying out Chyna, Triple H, and Shane McMahon!
With This Ring #54: WrestleMania XV Tis' the season, WrestleMania season that is. Ryan and Cindy are back and dive into WrestleMania XV: The Raging Climax! They continue their trek into 1999 and arrive at one of the most Vince Russo shows of all-time. Among the talking points: Quick check where we last were, with the Rock and Stone Cold locked in for the main event and how the rest of the card was fleshed out around that. The famous Beer Truck moment with Stone Cold and him later that night beating the Big Show in Show's TV debut. A talk about the Brawl for All, who was Bart Gunn and Doctor Death and why is JR a bad guy now? Talk about the messed-up undercard including the Outlaw switch. Ryan rants about the tag title match and how thrown together the teams were for a 3 minute match. We all have a good laugh at Butterbean knocking Bart Gunn's head off. Another risky Mankind bump on a mediocre match at best and a very quick Big Show face turn. Pete Rose once again trying his hand at an attack on Kane and failing. Chyna turning face, and then turning heel with Triple H a ½ hour later. The greatness of the Mean Street Posse. The horribleness of the Undertaker/Big Boss Man Hell in a Cell match The main event finally delivering a huge mega match feel Where this WrestleMania stacks up among other shows. Enjoy the show!

Edge faces Gangrel in a Bloodbath Match -- but whose side is Christian on? The Big Boss Man puts his Hardcore Title on the line against his former Corporate Ministry stablemate Viscera. Gregory Iron brings in former WWE Superstar Bushwhacker Luke to give Aaron Bauer a special birthday message! Greg & Aaron discuss the worst returns in the history of wrestling. For every "beautiful day" return scenario with Triple H there were things like Dustin Rhodes returning to WCW as Seven, British Bulldog coming back in jorts and aligning with the Mean Street Posse, or Albert coming back as an ancient Japanese character of some sort. The guys search the deepest depths of their minds for the very worst attempts at comebacks and rebranding. Greg also talks about his Disney vacation with girlfriend Nicole, and the experience of meeting Johnny Gargano & Candice LeRae's baby Quill for the first time. --- Gregory Iron wrestles with cerebral palsy, a neurological disorder that affects the mobility of his right arm, hand and fingers. Trained by WWE NXT Superstar Johnny Gargano in 2006, Iron has conquered his disability and gone on to work with some of the top names in wrestling including "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, CM Punk, The Dudley Boyz, Tommaso Ciampa and many others. Co-host Aaron Bauer has worked in the professional wrestling industry for over two decades. A jack-of-all-trades, Aaron has worked in the industry as a local promoter for ECW events, a manager, and has provided color commentary over matches for some of the biggest stars in WWE, WCW, ECW, AEW, Impact & ROH. July 5th, 1999: New WWF Champion "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is slated for a rematch with The Undertaker at "Fully Loaded," and a tempting offer from Vince McMahon ups the stakes of the match even further. In our main event, The Rock and Triple-H look to settle their differences inside of a Steel Cage! WWF Tag Team Champions The Acolytes put their titles on the line against the up-and-coming Hardy Boyz. "The Road Dogg" Jesse James goes one-on-one with Val Venis... until one of them gets arrested. The Big Show & Hardcore Holly face Kane in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match, but "The Big Red Machine" doesn't appear to be all that fazed by those odds. Gangrel squares off with The Godfather, who has Droz & Prince Albert acting as his Hoes for the night. Jeff Jarrett defends his WWF Intercontinental Title against Chaz (yes, that's right -- Chaz has somehow earned a title shot). Reigning King of the Ring Billy Gunn looks to get back on track with a win against Meat. Test's rivalry with Shane McMahon and The Mean Street Posse continues to escalate as he steps into the ring with Joey Abs. The Big Boss Man was riding high last week when he rejoined The Corporate Ministry, but can he carry that momentum into his match against Edge? Al Snow puts his WWF Hardcore Title on the line against D'Lo Brown. Plus, GTV strikes again, Chyna claims that DX has vandalized her rental car, and Amy Dumas (the future Lita) makes her first appearance in The WWF! Meanwhile over on "Nitro," Bret Hart speaks for the first time since his brother Owen's death, and Goldberg makes his grand return at a Megadeth concert! The Mean Street Posse discuss the backlash from zombies and discuss what really puts wrestling back for years.
JR and Mikey dive into the dark days of the WWF and In Your House 12: IT’S TIME!! It’s time for Sid to defend the WWF Championship against Bret “The Hitman” Hart! It’s time for Carny Vince to dance with Flash Funk! It’s time for Jim Ross to defend the hilarity of the Fake Razor and Diesel! It’s time for Gord Abdul-Gretzky to join the Nation of Domination! It’s time for The Undertaker to battle Terry “Bam Bam” Executioner in whatever the hell an Armageddon Rules match is! It’s time for Steve Austin to jump everyone from behind! And it’s time for Shawn Michaels to take all the drugs and do guest commentary and take bumps. But it’s not Vader Time. All that and how the Mean Street Posse has an in with the Greenwich gossip circles on the latest TLD.
RSPW Rewind revisits what the wrestling internet was talking about years ago, and Episode 34 features complaints in 1992 about the PWI Top 500... Louie Spicolli makes a controversial comment on WCW Thunder just before his passing... the rumored name Chris Jericho ALMOST received before making his WWE debut... fans were ready for Stone Cold vs. Jeff Jarrett in 1999 and why it never happened... the Mean Street Posse debuts and WHY IS PETE GAS CALLED PETE GAS?... one user in 2000 wishes WWE would SCRAP all of its PPVs (LOL)... and one thing Excalibur does on commentary in AEW that drives Solomonster nuts.Sign up for a FREE TRIAL and 15 PERCENT OFF your first month of fuboTV when you visit FUBOTV.COM/SOLOMONSTER for a limited time!

Undertaker week is starting over at Hooked on Wrestling! With that in mind, Justin C and Heather cracked open some beers for this week's 3 Beers Deep Wrestling Podcast (as is tradition) and watched WWF RAW from April 26, 1999. What is the significance of this episode when it comes to The Undertaker?Well, its the Black Wedding! That's right folks. Despite crossing state lines and not getting the FBI involved, The Undertaker has kidnapped Stephanie McMahon and plans to force her to marry him! Vince McMahon decides to try to handle things on his own. And knowing the result of the angle, the signs are there that Vince was involved the entire time.We also see the start of The Rock's face turn that would launch him into stardom. Justin and Heather question what anyone ever saw in Billy Gunn and why he ever received a push. Plus who is the best member of the Mean Street Posse?Join Justin and Heather as they crack open some beers and watch this episode! Find it on Hooked On Wrestling as well as Apple Podcasts and iTunes, and follow us on Twitter @TheHot_Tag!
June 21st, 1999: New CEO "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and The McMahons are at odds with each other, so someone needs to step in to restore order.... and thankfully, Commissioner Shawn Michaels is in town. HBK books "Stone Cold" vs. The Big Boss Man and, if Austin wins, there will be no Corporate Ministry interference allowed in the Ladder Match at "King of the Ring." Regarding Vince & Shane, they'll get a tune-up match tonight against their former stooges Pat Patterson & Gerald Brisco. And as for The Corporate Ministry, Commissioner Michaels attempts to make sure that the top two members of that faction will remain at odds with each other when he orders WWF Champion The Undertaker to defend his title tonight against Triple-H! In a dream match you never knew you wanted, The Rock steps into the ring with Edge. Jeff Jarrett is ordered to defend his WWF Intercontinental Title against Ken Shamrock and Test in a Triple Threat Match. WWF Tag Team Champions The Acolytes team up with "Mr. Ass" to face "The Road Dogg," X-Pac, and Kane in a six-man tag team match where the tag titles are somehow on the line. The Big Show faces Hardcore Holly in a Hardcore Match which ends with the big man attempting to crush Holly with a car! Val Venis is scheduled to face Prince Albert, but the match takes an interesting turn before it can even begin. Mark Henry and Viscera square off in a Body Slam Challenge, which is unfortunately referred to as a "Gorilla Slam Match." GTV continues to catch people in embarrassing situations backstage, and this week it's Al Snow's turn. Plus, we get the return of someone who hasn't been on "Raw" in three months, Beaver Cleavage can no longer take it anymore, and is it really true that a member of The Mean Street Posse pinned "Stone Cold"?! Meanwhile over on "Nitro," Master P yells the phrase "hootie hoo" 1,000 times! Enjoying the Podcast? E-mail us at rawattitudepodcast@gmail.com or Tweet us @RawAttitudePod! Luke Warm Frantic and Blue Meanie Freakshow tackle night 2 of the biggest wrestling event out of Japan: Wrestle Kingdom! How will the Mean Street Posse invade? Why are KENTA and Goto having a pillow fight? All those questions answered, and more!
May 10th, 1999: With "Nitro" being preempted by The NBA Playoffs, "Raw" has Monday all to themselves, and what results is a record-breaking rating which still has not been topped to this day! Commissioner Shawn Michaels shows up on the TitanTron live from back home in San Antonio, where he proceeds to schedule a whole bunch of matches. In our main event, WWF Champion "Stone Cold" Steve Austin teams with The Rock and Vince McMahon to take on Corporate Ministry members The Undertaker, Triple-H, and Shane McMahon. In a Hardcore Handicap Match, Mideon & Viscera team up to face an opponent who is returning for one night only: Cactus Jack! Pat Patterson & Gerald Brisco once again step into the ring with The Mean Street Posse, but this time the losing team must leave the WWF forever. The Big Boss Man does battle with Test in what you could say is Boss Man's signature match: a Nightstick-on-a-Pole Match. WWF Women's Champion Sable puts her title on the line against Debra in an Evening Gown Match, with surprising results. Chyna screwed over Ken Shamrock last week, so she must confront "The World's Most Dangerous Man" tonight. One half of the WWF Tag Team Champions Kane squares off with former DX member Billy Gunn. Jeff Jarrett clobbers Val Venis with a guitar, and then later on the two of them have a pretty solid match. Paul Bearer is forced to compete in his first ever match in the WWF...... against The Big Show. Faarooq and Bradshaw are ordered to face each other in a match which could potentially tear The Acolytes apart. Plus, we get another terrible Beaver Cleavage vignette, and Steve Blackman does some cool martial arts stuff to try and get us to forget that he's been a jobber for the past few months! May 3rd, 1999: Now that Shane McMahon and The Undertaker have joined forces to create The Corporate Ministry, Mankind teams up with The Big Show, Ken Shamrock, and Test to form a Union of his own. However, Shane does not take too kindly to this new alliance, so he proceeds to schedule a bunch of matches which are slanted in The Corporate Ministry's favor. Not only that, but Shane challenges his father Vince McMahon to a match tonight.... but will the chairman accept? In our main event, WWF Champion "Stone Cold" Steve Austin faces The Rock in a Lumberjack Match, with The Corporate Ministry acting as lumberjacks. Mankind must compete in a hard-hitting Hardcore Handicap Match against The Acolytes. The Undertaker steps into the ring with The Big Show, which leads to one of the most awesomely brutal spots you'll ever see (hint: it involves a baseball bat). Ken Shamrock is ordered to face Triple-H..... in a match where Chyna is the special guest referee. We get a Four Corners Match: Test vs. The Big Boss Man vs. Mideon vs. Viscera (which is really more of a 3-on-1 Handicap Match). The recently-fired Pat Patterson & Gerald Brisco return to the ring against Mean Street Posse members Rodney & Pete Gas. Fresh off a heel turn on the pilot episode of "Smackdown," Billy Gunn does battle with his former DX stablemate X-Pac. WWF Women's Champion Sable is ordered to defend her title against Debra in an Evening Gown Match, but Sable may have other priorities instead. Plus, we get the on-screen debut of the infinitely charismatic Linda McMahon! Enjoying the Podcast? E-mail us at rawattitudepodcast@gmail.com or Tweet us @RawAttitudePod! AJ is back from Europe, so he, Glenn, and Aaron discuss a very busy week in wrestling. They start with RAW, and talk about everything emanating from Triple H, from his "hold harmless" match to the stable that seems to be forming. They ask what Mick Foley's role could be going forward, as they all agree that this isn't the last we see of him. They then move to Smackdown (32:00), where Shane McMahon again proves that he's a lunatic. They actually see the news about AJ/HBK as they're talking about Smackdown, and briefly discuss their dismay over that revelation. Plus, the Usos shockingly won the titles weeks before Wrestlemania once again, so why? Maybe....the Hardys? Speaking of Shane being a madman, they're joined by one of his boys, as Pete Gas from the Mean Street Posse (58:00) joins to start segment 3. They talk about Shane being, as Pete says, an "adrenaline junkie", plus Pete breaking into the business in one of the most unique ways ever, and his time in WWE. Finally, they wrap the show by talking about Jim Cornette and Eric Bischoff being part of the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, the rumors about WWE trying to buy ROH, and Southpaw Regional Wrestling.
