It's Fun Day Lindsey Graham Monday On today's podcast: Senator, war hawk, and confirmed bachelor Lindsey Graham dropped dead on Sunday and Trump and Netanyahu wasted no time sprinting to the nearest tv station to use his death to further their agendas. Trump claimed that moments before he died, Graham called the president to discuss the importance of the SAVE America Act. Benjamin Netanyahu says that the last time he spoke to Graham he told the Senator that he was planning on phasing out military aid to Israel and he went ballistic. Caitlin Vogus, senior adviser to the Freedom of the Press Foundation (FPF) and a First Amendment attorney, joins to discuss her piece published in partnership with The Intercept and FPF: "Online Age Verification Law Could Kill Whistleblowing". In a pre-taped interview, Sam talks with Alex Aronson, co-founder and executive director of Court Accountability, about SCOTUS corruption and its billionaire-backed right-wing takeover. In the Fun Half: A republican strategist says that Maine Democratic voters owe the rest of the state an apology for voting for Platner in the primary. Cory Booker tries to "reach-around" the aisle and send warm thoughts and fond memories of dead ghoul, Lindsey Graham. Jake Tapper blatantly sucks up to Donald Trump on CNN. Brad Lander leaves CNN's Dana Bash dumbfounded as he tries to explain how Israel is not a democracy. A UAW worker in Michigan who voted for Trump in 2024 talks about why he is voting for Abdul El-Sayed.  All that and more. Trump just declared the Iran peace deal is over and said he's done dealing with “sick people.” Iran attacked commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz, prompting President Trump to order U.S. airstrikes on over 80 Iranian targets. This comes after a preliminary peace deal signed in June that aimed to reopen shipping lanes and address Iran's nuclear program. But Iran violated it by pushing for control and fees over the vital waterway. At the NATO summit in Ankara, Trump didn't hold back, calling the Iranians scum, vicious, violent people, liars, cheats, and sick people. He made it clear he thinks it's over and doesn't want to waste any more time negotiating with them. Pat also covered: Pat Gray talks to Mitch McConnell for 6 hours over the phone??? - The episode opens with Graham Platner's campaign in total free fall, arguing that Democrats ignored a mountain of ugly behavior until a rape allegation finally made him impossible to defend. - A major focus is the speed of the Democratic collapse around Platner, with Cory Booker, Chuck Schumer, Ro Khanna, Ed Markey, Maura Healey, Seth Moulton, and others all pulling support after spending months looking the other way. - The show argues the media did not simply expose Platner but managed the timing of his downfall, claiming outlets moved only when Democrats still had enough time to force him out and replace him on the ballot. - Another key theme is the allegation itself, with the accuser's account presented as credible, detailed, and especially damaging because she shares Platner's politics and says she stayed quiet in part because she believed in his cause. - The episode also targets Tim Walz for pardoning an illegal immigrant convicted of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl, holding it up as a concrete example of Democratic leaders protecting predators while pretending to occupy the moral high ground. The Author Events Series presents Eddie S. Glaude, Jr. | America, U.S.A.  In Conversation with Senator Cory Booker SOLD OUT Celebrated public intellectual Eddie S. Glaude, Jr. presents a groundbreaking analysis of the vicious cycles of American history and the country's enduring refusal to face its true nature-especially at the moments when national anniversaries steer us back toward the mythology meant to disguise the truth. America, U.S.A., deliberately formulated and beautifully written, details a heart-wrenching exploration of America's legacy. It is a magnificently complex combination of lessons and voices-from W.E.B. DuBois and John Dos Passos to Herman Melville and Martin Luther King, Jr.-that, together, paint a sprawling and honest tableau of the United States, its complicated past, and ever more tenuous future. Glaude's is a powerful voice of conscience in our tumultuous world. He pulls no punches, calling on us to interrogate our conceptions of innocence and freedom and the stories we tell ourselves about our past and present. Centered around the major celebrations of America's milestone birthdays across 250 years of history, the book offers a riveting look at the battles over who has a stake in writing the American story. Devastatingly candid, profoundly moving, and deeply reflective, America, U.S.A. is a shining meditation on how we must reckon with a grim past in order to strive for the better angels of our future. A strict line around himself. Donald might have a fat friend or two that take weight loss drugs, but everyone knows that he wouldn't be that one 79-year-old man Eli Lilly gave compassionate use access for a still unapproved weight loss drug. Trump is in better shape than any president, ever. Just look at him. 22 medical specialists – Twenty-two! – can't be wrong. A judge quashed subpoenas aimed at harassing Tim Walz, Keith Ellison, Jacob Frey and Kaohly Her in Minnesota. Meanwhile, Trump squashed an investigation into his clemency grant to a convicted fraudster. Trump's SAVE voter surveillance and harassment program has been deemed illegal. Sometimes you just have to force-feed Trump his tacos. Over at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts, the Donald F. Trump memorial tarpaulin of shame is still on display. Motions are being filed to remove it, even though it isn't really hiding anything. Peter Thiel secret society members Corey Booker, Ted Cruz, Elon Musk and others have been revealed. Some societies aren't as secret. Jasmine Crockett and James Talarico are not yet on the same team.

They came to honor America's warriors — and the Marc Cox Morning Show delivered one of the most powerful Monday mornings in recent memory. Broadcasting live from Whitmore Country Club in St. Charles County for the eighth annual SunTrip Folds of Honor Golf Tournament, Marc Cox and Kim St. Onge spent four hours doing what they do best: honoring the people who deserve it, exposing the people who don't, and giving conservative Missouri exactly what the mainstream media refuses to provide. The morning opened with Marc dismantling the narrative that Iran won anything — a country with no Navy, no Air Force, 85-90% of its missiles destroyed, and its uranium on the negotiating table. While JD Vance worked the room in Switzerland, Democrats like Chuck Schumer, Cory Booker, and Cory Booker rushed to cameras to root for failure — and Marc Cox called every single one of them out. Then Chuck Schumer accidentally admitted the SAVE Act might remove 25 million people from voter rolls, Rosie O'Donnell returned from Ireland to push election cancellation conspiracy theories, and Kamala Harris demanded 13 Supreme Court justices on the Don Lemon show. Kim St. Onge took over Kim on a Whim with a deep dive into the left's war on American history — from the Christopher Columbus statue that vanished from Tower Grove Park to Confederate monuments quietly returning to Baltimore to the 1619 Project sneaking into Missouri classrooms. Then the Marc Cox Morning Show played the audio of Joe Biden proving he had absolutely no idea what Juneteenth was — right before he made it a national holiday. Hans von Spakovsky, senior legal fellow at Advancing American Freedom, broke down the unanimous 9-0 Supreme Court marijuana gun ruling and warned that birthright citizenship and biological men in women's sports decisions could drop as early as this week. Dan Buck brought the number one downloaded song of the weekend — Tom McDonald's "Remember Who You Are" — and made the case that the silent majority is done being shamed into silence. Nicole Murray delivered the business headlines including oil prices dropping as Iran peace talks progressed and SpaceX stumbling after its blockbuster IPO. The emotional heart of the morning came when retired Marine Sergeant Rocky Sickman — who spent 444 days as an Iranian hostage — delivered a chilling warning live on air: Iran's interrogators told him directly during captivity that they simply wait out American presidents. He revealed he didn't learn until he came home that eight American soldiers died trying to rescue him in Operation Eagle Claw, and that every single morning he wakes up earning the day in their memory. Memorial Day brings out a lot of scripted lines, but we want to talk about the part that gets avoided: what American wars actually cost, who pays, and how often the public is left holding the bill while elites chase ideology, influence, and profit. We start by looking at the human consequences for service members and veterans, and why so many deployments overseas end with the same problems still on the table, just with more graves and more resentment. Then we shift into the biggest moving story right now: Iran negotiations, the Iran nuclear program, and why the phrase “on the brink of a deal” can be more propaganda than reality. We break down uranium enrichment in plain language, what the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty allows, and why demanding “zero enrichment” is not a technical detail but a deal-killer. We also explain how Lebanon and Hezbollah change the endgame, why escalations in southern Lebanon can function as sabotage, and how the Strait of Hormuz becomes real leverage that reshapes every calculation. We also react to Trump's messaging, including his push to fold Iran into the Abraham Accords, what those normalization deals have meant in practice, and how they can drive an arms race while adding impossible complexity to already fragile diplomacy. Along the way, we play and respond to clips featuring Cory Booker, plus a debate moment where Mearsheimer and Walt confront Pompeo and Nuland's talking points, and we close with a quick look at Thomas Massie signaling a possible national run.

This is the one we promised. Our full, unedited conversation with our first guest of Season 3; with public defender, creator, and iconic Survivor player Eliza Orlins. A slice of it ran in Thursday's episode. Here's the whole thing.Eliza anchored "Cover to Cover-Up," 24 straight hours live streaming a reading of the Epstein files, Cory Booker filibuster style, after Steve Schmidt and the Save America movement connected her with the redacted reading room in Tribeca. She takes us inside how it actually came together, the overnight scramble to fill the midnight to 7:30 AM hours, and what it felt like to read victim testimony out loud for a full day.She has been on the Epstein beat since 2018, when she watched the Manhattan DA's office quietly request a downward departure on his sex offender registration level, something she says she had never once seen in 15 years of public defending. She walks through what is actually in the files, the two million plus pages still hidden, the improper redactions in the pages we do have, and the Treasury documents that implicate Jamie Dimon and the banks. Then she makes the point that lands hardest: in every horrific case she ever read as a public defender, there was at least the promise of accountability. With Epstein, the richest and most powerful men in the world (Elon Musk, Donald Trump, Leon Black) have faced none. The reading room is now going on the road and opening two blocks from the White House, just in time for Trump's birthday. There is more here than made the Thursday cut. Eliza gets into the Democratic "autopsy," Rob Flaherty's much more honest version of it, and why she thinks the left is decades late on building real creator infrastructure because no one is watching cable news anymore. It is the clearest case we have heard for why shows like this one exist. Then things get a bit more personal as Eliza explains why she believes she will never be invited back to Survivor after she publicly torched CBS over its hard right turn, the $16 million settlement, Bari Weiss taking over CBS News, and a returning contestant's on air antisemitic rant. There are Survivor 50 hot takes, a MAGA alliance theory, and a Roy Moore connection you will not see coming.A programming note: this episode includes discussion of child sexual abuse and trafficking. There are Survivor 50 hot takes, a MAGA alliance theory, and a Roy Moore connection you will not see coming. After Eliza, Brian and Glennis turn to the Texas runoff that just wiped out John Cornyn. Ken Paxton, who is indicted, impeached, settled a whistleblower suit for $3.3 million in taxpayer money, and is comically corrupt by any measure, won by nearly 28 points on the strength of a single Trump endorsement. It capped the most expensive primary in US history at over $100 million, with roughly $80 million of that spent against Paxton, and it did not matter. Brian and Glennis dig into the chicken and egg of a Trump endorsement, why an unelectable nominee may be the best case scenario for Democrats and James Talarico, and the growing list of Republicans Trump is turning into lame duck enemies inside his own caucus. Then, in What Fresh Hell Is This number 642: the UFC cage Trump is building on the White House lawn for his birthday, the billionaires set to watch from the front row, Paramount's $7.7 billion UFC deal, and the illegal online casino sponsoring the whole thing that Trump keeps posting about. Brian and Glennis make the case that the whole spectacle is rage bait engineered to make liberals look out of touch, and lay out how to talk about it without taking the bait. They close on a genuinely good vibe out of South Carolina, where the state Senate killed a new map that would have eliminated its only majority Black district. And one more thing: a bonus episode with Eliza Orlins drops this Friday.A programming note: this episode includes discussion of child sexual abuse and trafficking. It's primary season, this time against a backdrop of heightened concerns and awareness of powerful figures skirting accountability for sexual abuse and misconduct. Survivors of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have “made accountability for sexual abuse and sexual violence an electoral issue,” says Intercept politics reporter Jessica Washington. One of the biggest stories to shake up politics in recent weeks are sexual assault allegations that upended Rep. Eric Swalwell's bid to become the next governor of California, forcing the Democratic front-runner to also resign from his House seat. “You also have to give some credit to Democrats as well for immediately moving on these allegations very swiftly,” says Washington. This week on The Intercept Briefing, Washington and Intercept senior politics reporter Akela Lacy speak to host Jordan Uhl about the themes emerging this midterm election season. They talk about how the crowded California gubernatorial race is boosting Republicans to the top of the ticket to why powerful factions of the Democratic Party are hyperfixating on Twitch streamer Hasan Piker, rather than leveraging Trump's sinking approval rating. “This is about not wanting to share power with the left,” notes Washington. They also discuss what makes a candidate or elected official a progressive. “We've seen a lot of candidates, particularly 2028 candidates, whether senatorial or gubernatorial, who have had long-standing relationships with AIPAC or demonstrated pro-Israel policy records like Rahm Emanuel, Cory Booker, Josh Shapiro, Ruben Gallego, all come out now against AIPAC or distancing themselves from AIPAC,” says Lacy. “It doesn't really matter if you're rejecting AIPAC money, if you aren't changing any of the policies that you adopt with respect to how the U.S. treats Israel.”For all that and more listen to the full conversation of The Intercept Briefing on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, or wherever you listen.Keep our investigations free and fearless at theintercept.com/join.
