The guys are back together after a couple of weeks on the road, and it doesn't take long for things to go sideways.Neil returns from Huntsville still asking questions about the moon landing, Jason Aldean earns two Diamond-certified songs, the guys admit they may have underestimated Megan Moroney, and then one simple question turns into a full-blown debate: when can an artist actually call themselves a headliner? They also talk about the realities of opening for major acts, why young artists shouldn't rush the process, Neil's Songwriters Hall of Fame nomination, Broadway, football, pickleball and another round of Dipshitty of the Week. It's one hour of road stories, music-business opinions, arguments, retractions and exactly the kind of chaos you get when Kurt, Neil, Tully and Kelley sit down with no guest and plenty to say.00:34 — Neil Goes Looking for Moon-Landing Proof02:17 — Two Weeks on the Road12:19 — Jason Aldean Gets Two Diamond Records17:03 — We Were Wrong About Megan Moroney19:08 — What Actually Makes You a Headliner?22:17 — The Argument Gets Personal27:35 — Young Artists Are Rushing to Headline32:35 — Neil's Songwriters Hall of Fame Nomination38:44 — Football Season Is Here42:15 — Tully's Son on Broadway48:20 — Dipshidiot of the Week54:27 — Back to the Moon Debate56:19 — Pickleball and Football Picks58:37 — The Donkey Toss Callback__________________________________________________________SPONSORS: The Try That in a Small Town Podcast is powered by e|spaces!Redefining Coworking - Exceptional Office Space for Every BusinessBook a tour today at espaces.comFrom the Patriot Mobile studios:Don't get fooled by other cellular providers pretending to share your values or have the same coverage. During the summer break, the 15-Minute History team will be republishing some of your favorite episodes. This episode originally aired on March 22, 2022.---Samuel Colt's name is forever linked to the company he founded and the revolver he called the “Peacemaker.” Born in Connecticut in 1814, he was steeped in America's gun culture from an early age. His grandfather had served in George Washington's army, and Samuel inherited an old flintlock pistol from the family hero when he was only six. At the age of fifteen, while working in his father's textile plant, he built a galvanic cell (basically an early battery) and used it to set off explosives beneath the surface of a nearby pond during the Fourth of July. He continued to experiment with chemicals and combustion—as many young men do—and became fascinated by inventors' work to create a firearm that could shoot more than bullets before needing to reload.Join us as we teach you about Samuel Colt, Richard Gatling, and John Browning. In this episode, you'll learn about their work, their impact on history, and how their names are culturally relevant - beyond the brand - in our world today.

Peacemaker vs. Peacekeeper: Why Keeping the Peace Isn't Peace

There's a difference between a peacemaker and a peacekeeper — and most of us have been a peacekeeper our whole lives without realizing it. In this final message of The Good Life, we sit in Matthew 5:9: "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." If you've ever kept the peace by staying quiet, smoothing it over, or sweeping it under the rug, this one is for you.Keeping the peace can look calm on the outside while nothing underneath is actually whole. The Bible has a fuller word for peace — shalom — that means wholeness and restoration, not just the absence of conflict. Which means real peace sometimes asks us to step toward the hard conversation instead of around it: in our marriages, our friendships, our health, our finances. This message unpacks what Jesus actually meant, why "being nice" isn't the same as being at peace, and how peace stops being something you chase and starts being Someone you know.Support the show

What if the biggest problem in your relationships isn't what you're saying—but the fact that the other person hears it completely differently? Licensed therapist and author Jason VanRuler joins Ginny to talk about his new book, Discovering Your Communication Type, and the five communication styles—Peacemaker, Advocate, Thinker, Harbor, and Spark—that shape how we connect, handle conflict, and respond under pressure. Jason explains why great communication is often more about listening than speaking, why vulnerability gives others the opportunity to love us well, and how childhood experiences can shape the way we approach hard conversations. They also unpack the “Three Ds of Doom”—distraction, defensiveness, and dismissal—and why defensiveness often comes from confusing our mistakes with our identity. Ginny shares a deeply personal story about broken relationships and a difficult apology, leading to one of Jason's most powerful pieces of advice: when you've hurt someone, resist the urge to immediately explain yourself. From marriage and friendship to parenting adult children, this conversation is packed with practical ways to communicate better, repair relationships, and help the people we love feel truly heard. The Blessed Life According to the Son | Part 5Blessed are the Persecuted PeacemakersMatthew 4:17, 23-25, 5:1-12 | King's Chapel Live StreamWhat does it mean to live as a citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven?Jesus says that peacemakers are blessed because they will be called sons of God. As members of God's family, we are invited to share in His family business by seeking peace with God, peace with our neighbors, and peace within our communities. Peacemaking is not passive. It is a Gospel-shaped way of living that reflects the character of our heavenly Father.Jesus also tells His followers that those who are persecuted because of Him are blessed. Their reward is not found in comfort or approval from the world, but in the Kingdom of Heaven. Even when following Christ brings opposition, rejection, or hardship, Jesus calls His people to rejoice and be glad because their reward is great and they are in the company of faithful believers who have gone before them.In this message, we see that the blessed life is not always an easy life. It is a life rooted in Christ, marked by peacemaking, and strengthened by the hope of God's Kingdom. If you are trying to follow Jesus faithfully in a divided world, this message will encourage you to pursue peace with courage and to trust that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.Connect with King's Chapel in Longwood, FL - ▶️ www.kingschapelfl.com▶️ https://www.facebook.com/KingsChapelfl▶️ https://www.instagram.com/kingschapelfl/For the GLORY of our Great GodFor the GOOD of our NeighborMatthew 5:9-12 sermon, blessed are the peacemakers, persecution for Christ sermon, Sermon on the Mount, Beatitudes explained, Christian peacemaking, Kingdom of Heaven sermon, following Jesus faithfully, King's Chapel Longwood FL

Rev. Obeng teaches that true order in conversation requires being born again. Mere education cannot fix our profane nature; only the Holy Spirit can tame our tongues. We must actively cooperate with God, choosing words of peace over conflict, knowing we will account for every careless word spoken.

    Well Hello Disney

Send us Fan MailThis episode is your complete Disney World planning guide for anyone stepping into the role of lead planner for an upcoming trip, whether this is your first time at Disney World or your tenth. I'm walking through my real planning process using our friends who are finally taking their first trip after years of us trying to convince them, but every tool and tip in this episode works no matter how many times you've already been.I start with the three decisions every Disney World trip planner has to make before anything else can fall into place: when you're going, how you're getting there, and where you're staying. Once those are locked in, you can start dissecting your days, but not before. I talk through how we landed on our own dates, why we chose to fly instead of drive this time, and how we balanced a moderate resort stay with a couple of nights using our Disney Vacation Club points so we could stretch our budget during one of the most expensive times of year to visit. From there I get into something most people skip completely when they're figuring out how to plan a Disney World trip, which is understanding your own planning personality, along with the personalities of everyone else coming with you. I share the Disney Enneagram quiz I use, paired with Disney characters, so you can see how a Helper plans differently than an Achiever or a Peacemaker, and why knowing this ahead of time can save you from burnout and save your group from mismatched expectations once you're actually at the parks.I also share the free Disney World planning workbook I use for every single trip we take, and I walk through exactly how I use it with first-timers. That includes a ride questionnaire so I know ahead of time who gets motion sick, who's never been on a roller coaster, and who has specific things they love or hate, like inversions, launches, or dark rides. I cover the Disney family interest survey, which helps me figure out favorite movies and characters before we ever start building a Disney World itinerary, and the Disney vacation style quiz, which is especially useful if you're traveling with another family or group of friends and want to know ahead of time how loose or detailed their vacation style tends to be.This episode also covers the Disney World booking window, including exactly when dining reservations, Enchanted Extras, and Lightning Lane booking open depending on your check-in date. I explain why I always tell people not to touch their actual day-by-day planning until 90 days before the trip, since that's when your 60-day dining window is approaching and most major announcements or refurbishments have already been made. I also share the six-day outlook sheet I use for early brainstorming, which lets you jot down restaurants or experiences you've heard about without locking anything in too soon. You'll also hear about the Disney World packing list system I use for every vacation, not just Disney trips, including how I shop sales year-round and keep everything organized in one vacation box so nothing gets lost between the time I buy it and the day we leave. I talk about the outfit planner I use for coordinating looks for special dinners or park days, and why I don't expect guests traveling with us to match, even though my own family loves doing it.Toward the end, I get into the difference between genuine Disney magic and manufactured magic, especially when it comes to character interactions, dressing kids in bounding outfits, and why some of what you see online from other Disney creators is planned more intentionally than it looks. My goal with this podcast has never been to chase virality. It's to make sure you have the facts so you can have a truly magical trip, whether that means dressing up for extra character attention or just showing up and enjoying the experience as it comes. If you're the one in charge of pulling off a magical trip for your family, your friends, or anyone experiencing Disney World for the first time, I hope this episode gives you a clear, repeatable framework you can use for this trip and every one after it. And if you know someone getting ready for their first Disney World vacation, please share this episode with them so they can start planning with a little less overwhelm and a lot more excitement.Support the showHey Welcome to Well Hello Magic!Well Hell Magic Website Instagram YouTube  Pinterest Amazon Shop LTK ShopReady to Plan your Disney Vacation?Free Planning GuideJoin The Newsletter

In this episode of the Lead Ministry Podcast, Josh Denhart and Bill Van Kirk wrap the July Conflict series with ten practical rules every ministry leader needs when conflict shows up at the door. They explore the difference between peacekeeping and peacemaking, offering ministry leaders a working playbook for handling the hard conversations they'd rather avoid. If you've ever felt unprepared for the relational fallout that comes with leadership, this episode will equip and inspire you with ten field-tested principles you can put into practice this week. Key Topics CoveredAct quickly and lead with the benefit of the doubt – the first two rules that change everything.Make it right, not being right – why winning the argument can cost you the relationship.Peacekeeper vs. peacemaker – the difference that defines the kind of leader you'll become. Key Quote"There's a difference between peacekeeping and peacemaking. Peacemakers take initiative, do the hard work, and choose humility." Scripture ReferencesMatthew 5:9 – "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God."Proverbs 15:1 – "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." TakeawayConflict is not the enemy — disunity is. Lead with humility, address tension early, talk to the person not about them, and trust that God is using every hard conversation to grow you into someone who looks more like Him. Call to ActionWe hope this episode encourages and equips you. All of us are searching for happiness in one form or another. some of us seek wealth or pleasures of this age and some seek fulfillment in family or work. However, the way of Jesus flows in the opposite direction. In Matthew 5, Jesus gives his "Sermon on the Mount" and lays out the way of the Kingdom of God. The first section of his sermon is often known as "the beatitudes" and lists those who are "blessed" (or "happy"). Can we find true happiness and fulfillment following the ways of this world and its age, or should we seek the counter-cultural way of Jesus?

Discovery? • Why Clayface could become the sleeper hit of the DC Universe • Can The Odyssey or Spider-Man: Brand New Day become the next billion-dollar blockbuster? Hello, movie maniacs! This week Mary and David watched Craig Gillespie’s Supergirl. Gillespie has directed a couple of films that Mary and David love – I, Tonya and the Fright Night remake – so they were really looking forward to this film. They talked about the gross hate campaign directed at yet another female-led superhero movie; admired the backstory that explains so much of Kara’s behaviour; got irretrievably stuck on James Gunn’s Peacemaker series; and overall enjoyed the movie quite a bit despite a few reservations. Not sure what to make of this latest iteration of Supergirl? Well, let Mary and David fansplain it for you!

This sermon explores the seventh Beatitude - "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God" - emphasizing that biblical peacemaking is fundamentally different from worldly concepts of peace. True peacemakers actively pursue reconciliation between God and humanity, and between warring parties, often at great personal cost. The message clarifies that peacemaking is not about appeasement, compromise, or tolerance of evil, but rather about courageously entering conflict zones to reconcile people to God's truth and to one another. Jesus is presented as the ultimate peacemaker whose reconciling work cost Him His life. The sermon challenges believers to understand that while they find peace with God through Christ, this same peace positions them for tribulation in the world. True peacemakers risk relationships, reputation, and comfort to pursue godly reconciliation without compromising Scripture, conscience, or God's holiness.
