Dan hat das interaktive Drama As Dusk Falls angespielt: Ein bisschen Life is Strange mit Quick-Time-Events?

Tonight we had some technical difficulties and as a result got to a bit of a late start… which caused us to lose track of the timing. As a result we recorded a pretty long show, but I think it was one of our better discussions. We start with Kodra explaining why he is the fiercest four year old you know and talking about Crusader Kings III some more. From there Bel talks about effectively being done with Avengers and why it has driven him to deep dive into the Ms Marvel comic series. From there we discuss the Sportscardification of Magic the Gathering and the crashes of Comic Books and Sports Cards and why it feels real similar to the state of premium collector focused products. Thalen talks about breaking down ships for fun and profit in Hardspace: Shipbreaker. We talk about when Quick Time Events feel good rather than something to be avoided, and then dive into the cognitive overhead of trying to return to a game after a long absence. Finally we talk about the Games as a Subscription model and how it may or may not change the game industry. Specifically we talk about the dueling business models of the Xbox Series S/X and the PlayStation 5. Topics Discussed Crusader Kings III The struggles of succession Marvel Avengers Being mentally done with the grind for now Marvel Comics Unlimited How Marvel Made me Deep Dive into Ms Marvel Hardspace: Shipbreaker The good at bad of Quick Time Events God of War Ghost of Tsushima Shinmue Returning to Games The struggle of trying to pick something back after leaving for awhile Games left unfinished Reminders in Games Games as a Subscription Model Microsoft vs Sony Business Models The overwhelming value to players. What does this do for publishers?

This week, we discuss the decision by Sony to not attend E3 for a second year in a row? Does this decision make sense for them? Are they still set up to have a good reveal of the PlayStation 5 and when do we think that might happen? What does Microsoft need to do to capitalize on E3 for the Xbox Series X? We also talk about the now debunked rumors of a new Assassin's Creed game and the many, many delays that were announced this week. FInally, in out Quick Time Events segment, we hit on news regarding Ninja, Bioshock, God of War and more. Rob's done a lot of research, so him, Adrian and Dylan sit down to discuss the game's inception, the weird and wonderful tale of Don Bluth (and his many companies) and what sort of legacy both games have left. Once Upon a Time In Hollywood : Dernier film de Tarantino.

Innovatives Storytelling oder bloß plumpe Quick Time Events?
This week we make like The 007 franchise and pull a soft reboot. A new format including what we’ve been up to, Quick Time Events, our topic of the show, which is all about why Eric is so afraid of E.T, and a mailbag question. Plus, an announcement about two new podcasts that we will be debuting soon!
Ben and Aadil are rejoined by the on-the-mend Lucy talking some more e3, with “Spider-man” causing a diatribe from Aadil about Quick-Time Events and character powers in them. We touch on “Tacoma”, “Cup-Head”, “Life is Strange Season 2”, the “Devolver Digital” conference, and the XXXBone. We move on to talk beer subscriptions services, like Beer 52, Honest Brew, and of course gaming subscription services, like the new XboX games pass and Humble Bundle Monthly, and a quick shout-out to SteamGiveAways. Aadil starts things off with the light in ABV “Mikeller” American-style pale ale ‘Henry Jagger’, then he’s joined by Lucy for a Milk Stout also from “Mikeller”, Aadil forges on to keep the beer count high with the ‘English Endeavour’ […]

This week Fred is joined by Eric from the Everyday Gamers to discuss the history of the Quick Time Event or QTE. They go all the way back to the origins of the genre, the games that led into today's definition, and some of their favorites.
Nate, Sebastian, and Jordan gather to discuss Dragon's Lair, the arcade game that ran on Laserdisc and looked just like a cartoon! Because it was a cartoon. We talk about Don Bluth films, "Quick Time Events," and problematic damsels.
The BB crew can't catch a break and more technical issues were surprise guests in this week's show too. Sorry! Our main topic: Quick Time Events; what are they? are they good or bad? Also, the latest on Pokémon Generations, Leff goes back to Kero Blaster, post-apocalyptic audio-plays and more!
We had our first official guest on the show this week, UI designer and FarCry superfan/Pagan Min lookalike Erik Scott! Erik nominated Resident Evil 4 for its importance, for good and bad, to the survival horror genre. Join us (minus Daniel, who was out sick) as we discuss Leon Kennedy's one-liners, fish suitcases, and the rise of Quick Time Events. It should be noted that we encountered a number of technical difficulties while recording the show, so if you notice any odd sound changes or abrupt transitions, that's due to there being multiple recording sessions stitched together. Outro music: Super Street Fighter II Turbo 'Sexy Trunks' by Neostorm (http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01036) You can follow the show on Twitter: @BestGamesPeriodOr download the podcast from Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/thebestgamesperiod You can find the talented Erik Scott on Twitter as well: @MadAdam_
It's the first episode we're willing to assign a positive number to! This time the gang dissects Quick Time Events, the cutscene-interrupting bane of players everywhere. But are there more to these simple button press challenges than meets the eye?

This week a big Point Streak crew tackles the subject of QTEs (Quick Time Events)...
This week, Brian and Corey discuss Quick Time Events, where they originated in gaming, what makes them popular and whether or not we still need them. The guys also discuss The Order: 1886 and how they too were sucked into Sony's manipulation of last week's news surrounding The Last Guardian. Thanks to Austin for this week's topic. Do you have commments or something for us to discuss? Drop us a tweet at the podcast or to Corey or to Brian. Or email us at StartingPointFeedback [at] gmail dot com.

Hey there, Julian here. Yeah, I'm not your usual Backloggers Anonymous host, but we're tackling a game that I have a really huge soft spot for: Asura's Wrath. We are joined by Nerds Without Pants fan favorite Erika Szabo who takes her place as our resident anime expert. This is important, because Asura's Wrath is a huge, mushy love letter to Japanese animation, which you can read all about in my review. We spend the first part of the show talking about our personal history with anime, as well as some of our all-time favorite shows. After that, we delve into the topic of the dreaded Quick Time Event (or QTE if you're funky). This is also a big deal, as Asura's Wrath is almost entirely QTE based. Opinions vary among the three of us, but I do a pretty good job of getting Angelo and Erika excited for this play through. Finally, we wrap up with some talk on DLC (this game had a "huge" controversy concerning its DLC), and some favorite anime recommendations. This game is quite a trip, and I hope you'll join us. If you do, play through the first 9 episodes. That should take you about 2-3 hours, and then get ready for part 2 of the show, where we talk about the insanity thus far!

This week the team discuss the mainstream media's view on gaming, today's quality of storytelling and whether or not Quick Time Events work. Listen closely and you may even hear a clue about next issue's MEGA-EXCLUSIVE game…
