OnTime Capsule Episode 401, Sonequa Martin Green, as she revisits her evolution as the resilient Captain Burnham in "Star Trek: Discovery," facing the emotional challenges of playing an older version of her character due to a narrative twist involving a "time bug." Doug Jones adds dimension with his reflections on playing Saru and the complexities of portraying familial relationships amidst the backdrop of rebuilding the Federation. I then pay tribute to Herbert Wright, fondly remembered as the father of the Ferengi, reminiscing about the visionary Gene Roddenberry's influence on "Star Trek: The Next Generation." Our conversation then shifts as we engage with Radha Mitchell, discussing her role in the film "Sacrifice," and exploring how her character's journey through mystery and emotional rawness drew her into the project. Richard Harmon brings us tales from "The 100" Season 4, delving into Murphy's uncertain path and the character dynamics that keep the narrative unpredictable and his own survival surprising yet believable. Lastly, "The Walking Dead" stalwarts Greg Nicotero, Gale Anne Hurd, and Angela Kang gather to discuss the series' lasting impact, its exploration of hope amid apocalypse. Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for information about all your favorite fictional Universes Florence Pugh tempted the ire of Marvel Studios' infamous snipers, when she shared a video tour of the Thunderbolts set via social media last week. Though the video was clearly staged and was sparse on reveals and details, it did give us our first official look at Yelena Belova's new combat-ready getup. A clear departure from Marvel's typical airtight protocol. Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire enjoyed a $194 million global debut last week, enough to place it as the third highest grossing film of the year after just one weekend of release. The movie is the fifth film in Legendary's MonsterVerse franchise, which includes the recent Apple TV Plus series, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. Though not connected to recent Oscar winner, Godzilla: Minus One, this opening clearly shows a renewed interest in all things Godzilla. Star Trek's Kelvin Timeline, that is the Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana-led and JJ Abrams-produced films, may be getting a fourth and final film, as Steve Yockey has been added as a screenwriter. Yockey is best known for creating the Max series The Flight Attendant, starring Kaley Cuoco. Three previous screenwriters had been attached to the project, including WandaVision showrunner and Fantastic Four director Matt Shakman. Star Trek hasn't been on the big screen since 2016's Star Trek: Beyond, but has enjoyed a lot of success with various streaming series. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer went two for two the last couple of weeks here on Multiverse News. Last week teasing a return of the Pirates franchise and now a possible third film in the National Treasure franchise, all during his promotion of The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. While his comments were vague, they were optimistic – speaking to his confidence in an unnamed writer working on a script that only needs Nic Cage's approval. The Mandalorian and Quantumania actor Katy O'Brian has been cast in Mission: Impossible 8. Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson and frequent collaborator C. Robert Cargill, will adapt a new version of the acclaimed 1953 crime novel The Night of the Hunter for Universal. Final Destination Bloodlines has added to its main cast. Brec Bassinger, who starred in The CW's DC series Stargirl, Chucky actor Teo Briones and Dear Evan Hansen stage actress Kaitlyn Santa Juana, The 100 star Richard Harmon, Gotham Knights actress Anna Lore and Owen Patrick Joyner, one of the stars of Netflix series Julie and the Phantoms will all star in leading roles in the sixth installment of the franchise which is now in production. A sequel to the 2003 Disney body swap comedy Freaky Friday seems to be in the works, as Chippendale's director Nisha Ganatra has been attached and stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are currently in negotiations to return. Scream 7 looks to add another series regular after the return of Neve Campbell, with Courteney Cox in talks to reprise her role as Gale Weathers. Ezra Miller was quietly replaced by Eric Bauza for their voice role as a minor antagonist in Amazon's Invincible. Universal Pictures has postponed two Blumhouse horror films. Leigh Whannel's Wolf Man will now premiere on January 17, 2025, three months later than planned. The Woman in the Yard was removed from the schedule, but will be rescheduled. Louis Gossett Jr., the Oscar and Emmy-winning actor known for roles in Watchmen and The Punisher, has passed away at 87. He was the first Black man to win an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for An Officer and a Gentleman and also earned an Emmy for Roots. Chance Perdomo, who starred in the television series Gen V and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, has died as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was 27. Have you ever been scammed? So much of our world is full of fake news, fake people, and fake things. But who would have ever thought that the largest fake ID empire in North America could be invented by two teenage girls in West Vancouver, British Columbia? That's the theme of the show Fakes - an American-Canadian television comedy/drama series, which premiered in 2022 on CBC Gem in Canada and Netflix internationally. The series stars Emilija Baranac and Jennifer Tong as Zoe and Rebecca and premiered September 1, 2022.Each episode is portrayed from the perspective of one of the two young women, making use of the unreliable narrator technique as their respective viewpoints sometimes contradict each other. Richard Harmon, who plays the supporting character Tryst, highlighted this aspect of the show as a fun creative opportunity for him as an actor, because it allowed him to play more than one variation on the character, based on the differing views of his character in each of the main characters' perspectives, instead of having to maintain a single consistent characterization. The cast also includes Eric Bempong, Wern Lee, Matreya Scarrwener, Lauren K. Robek, Dylan Sloane, Mya Lowe, Ryan Mah, Emily Leung, Cindy Piper, Devon Slack, Oliver Rice, Debbie Podowski, Roraigh Falkner, Devon Alexander and Toby Hargrave. The show was nominated for Best Comedy and Best Picture Editing in a Children's or Youth Program or Series. Fakes is the story of two best friends – played by Emilija Baranac and Jennifer Tong – who accidentally build one of the largest fake ID empires in North America. Friend-of-the-podcast Richard Harmon is Tryst, who might or might not be something of a dirtbag. There's a lot to love about this comedy-drama, the 10 episodes of which hit CBC Gem (in Canada) and Netflix (outside of Canada) earlier this month. It was filmed and set in Vancouver, and it's rich with Metro Vancouver talent. It's funny and exciting, smart and well-acted, and moves really fast. It's well-titled; fakes aren't just the titular IDs, but also the fronts we put up to protect ourselves. Richard Harmon recently joined host Elias in the cave! You can see Richard as Tryst on his latest project 'Fakes' now streaming on Netflix. Fakes - FAKES is the story of two best friends who accidentally build one of the largest fake ID empires in North America. They move into a downtown penthouse, have more cash than they know what to do with, and then get raided by the feds. One of them goes to jail, the other doesn't. This is the story of their ultimate betrayal, told through each of their POVs with regular fourth wall breaks. This is a comedy-drama with two unreliable narrators who are both competing for the last word. Richard Harmon is a world-class actor, consistently working with Hollywood elite. Born in Mississauga, Ontario, Richard began acting professionally when he was only 10 years old, but it took him until he was 15 to fall in love with the craft and hit his stride as a thespian. Richard has had numerous recurring and guest star appearances on such TV shows as TheCW's "Smallville" and "The Secret Circle", SYFY's "Jeremiah", "Flash Gordon" and "Caprica", FOX's "Fringe", Cartoon Network's "Tower Prep", Showcase's "Continuum", A&E's "Bates Motel", CBS' "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation", Netflix's “Van Helsing”, the critically acclaimed AMC series "The Killing" and “A Cinderella Story Starstruck” for HBO Max. He also starred as John Murphy in The CW's "The 100", a post-apocalyptic drama set 97 years after the earth has been destroyed by a nuclear war which aired for 7 seasons. Philip Granger is an actor, producer, and educator based in Vancouver. His IMDb filmography goes on for miles, and includes Walt in Neon Rider, Coach Kolaski in Madison, Supernatural, Caprica, Rogue, and Winston in the highly underrated and gone-too-soon Ghost Wars. He won a Gemini Award for his performance in Neon Rider and a 2019 Leo Award for his work opposite Richard Harmon in Jon Silverberg's Woodland. In this deeply moving episode, Philip recalls memorable moments from his lengthy career, reflects on the friendships that have at once anchored and buoyed him along the way (including with the late, great actor Bill Paxton), and pulls back the curtain on working with his screen-partner-turned-brother Richard Harmon in Woodland. (Note: this episode was recorded over Zoom, and is noticeably more compressed than our previous remotely recorded episodes. Although it sounds a bit different, it's still audible and (in our not-so-humble opinion) highly enjoyable!). Episode sponsor: Fish Flight Entertainment
In this latest episode of SFP-Now and our first episode since March. We speak to filmmaker, writer and director Jon Silverberg about his movie Woodland, which is part psychological horror movie and part character study.Over the course of our Chat Jon talks about the great team he managed to put together for the movie, which included Richard Harmon who is best known for his role in 'The 100' and acclaimed actor Philip Granger who plays the role of Sparky in the film and formed a very strong friendship with his co-star while making the film.Jon also talks a little about how his career thus far has allowed him the opportunity to get to work with the likes of Stargate SG1 and Sanctuary star Amanda Tapping, who has moved more towards producing and directing herself. We even learn that Amanda plays a small, but somewhat important role in Woodland as the radio operator who is Sparky's only contact out in the civilised world. We also learn a little about some of the technical challenges that Jon and his team faced while making the film as well as a little promo for the great location where the film is shot.So if you have an interest in independent cinema then tune in to hear what Jon has to share as well as some updates on what he is working on right now.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/SciFiPulse-Radio. Actor Richard Harmon (The 100) and filmmaker Jon Silverberg swing by the YVR Screen Scene Podcast to pull back the curtain on Woodland, an atmospheric and terrifying thriller about a down and out photographer named Jake (played by Richard) who is haunted by bad decisions and takes a job at a winter lodge up in a secluded part of Haida Gwaii. Jake's employer is Sparky, a kind-hearted roughneck played by the inimitable Philip Granger. Despite the distance between Haida Gwaii and Jake's previous life, the broken photographer continues to be haunted by – well, something, because he's seeing the future in the photos he develops in the creepiest darkroom ever. Woodland – which is set in 1989, AKA an era before digital photography and mobile phones – is currently available for purchase and rental on iTunes. In this fascinating and occasionally uproarious interview, Richard and Jon discuss the whys, hows, and WTAFs of Woodland. Episode sponsor: Neverland Tea Salon

This weeks guest is straight fire and we could have chatted for hours! In this episode I have a conversation with Lanie Labens, owner of I don't do subtle entertainment (IDDS). IDDS is a celebrity management company and helps celebrities do appearances such as Comic Con. Ladies, her client list is full of good looking men! Lanie dishes about what it's like to be a female agent in a male dominated world. Lanie started this business in her early 20s and talks about how being naive worked to her advantage and she just went for it. She also gives us some "celeb gossip". Lanie talks about her difficulty childhood and how she found her confidence in dolls. Lanie never doubted that she would do amazing things, despite feeling out of place as a kid. Lanie has a youtube channel that showcases her dolls. She talks about what her dolls mean to her and how she was able to find her confidence with them. Richard Harmon was born into a film family and grew up on Vancouver sets. He's been acting for 19 years now (a veteran of the business before he hits his 30s), and his filmography is populated by complicated characters with questionable morals and inner demons – characters like Julian in Continuum, Richard in Bates Motel, Jasper in The Killing, a serial killer frat boy in Karen Lam's exceedingly creepy Evangeline, Max in Van Helsing, conflicted photographer Jake in Woodland, and the role for which he's built a following around the world: that of John Murphy on The 100. Richard had only been hired for the pilot but there was something about him that made the producers eager for him to stick around, first as a recurring character, and then as full-time cast. As The 100 prepares to say goodbye at the end of its seventh season, Richard reflects on his time as Murphy – how he's changed as a human being since the pilot; whether he sees Murphy as a hero; how he feels about Emori and Luisa d'Oliveira – and where he hopes to go from here. Welcome back, Helsingers! There’s a new warden in town and he’s played expertly by The 100’s Richard Harmon. Initially, it isn’t clear that Harmon’s Max just seems like a cool, kinda twisted dude living his best post-apocalyptic life. He meets up with Axel early on the episode and poor Axel is clearly still going through it after losing Scarlett. Phil has the long-awaited reunion with his wife, Jennifer and it goes as expected.
Today's Episode we kick it with actor Richard Harmon (the 100, Van Helsing, Continuum). @richardsharmon @josh.romyn @iamdaev @gen.admission

I liked the cast, especially Bella Thorne and Richard Harmon, and the look of it. … It’s worth a watch." - Jeff "I really liked how they established the ghosts and they’re patterns and what they symbolized in people’s lives, and then how they’re incorporated into this murder mystery." - Doc Director: Scott Speer Writer: Jason Fuchs (based on based on the novel "Break My Heart One Thousand Times" by Daniel Waters) Cast: Bella Thorne, Dermot Mulroney, Amy Price-Francis, Richard Harmon Release: Available in Theaters and VOD October 12, 2018, from Lionsgate Hold the Dark After the deaths of three children suspected to be killed by wolves, writer Russell Core is hired by the parents of a missing six-year-old boy to track down and locate their son in the Alaskan wilderness. A perfect episode of BEHIND THE LENS as we're talking about love, baseball, and love of baseball with BRAMPTON'S OWN, and our love of Dermot Mulroney as he talks about I STILL SEE YOU. Kicking off the show is our prerecorded exclusive interview with actor DERMOT MULRONEY. Long a favorite among moviegoers, and always one of my personal favorites and fun to speak with about film, Dermot is one of the few actors who has seamlessly successfully navigated among genres and character types to create a diverse and eclectic cinematic resume; and, he's also one of the lucky ones to be a part of some of the most beloved movies on the big and small screens. Co-starring with Bella Thorne and Richard Harmon, Dermot is currently back on the big screen with the supernatural psychological thriller, I STILL SEE YOU, and it is truly a "must see" film. Based on the novel, "Break My Heart 1000 Times" by Daniel Waters, directed by Scott Speer, I STILL SEE YOU is set 9-years after an apocalyptic event which killed millions. But instead of leaving physical evidence of the deaths, those who died remain present as "spectral remnants" or "REMS" which appear every day at the same time, in the same place, wearing the same clothes, doing the same thing, as they were the moment they died. One of the novelties of this story, though, is that the spectral remnants are a part of everyday life and everyone sees them. It's normal. The other novelty is that while the living can see the REMS, there is no way to connect or interact with them. Dermot plays beloved Professor August Bitner who studies the spectral remnants, desperate to figure out how to connect with them. An interesting role and something quite different for him, take a listen as we go deep into the character, the film as a whole, the production values and effects (Dermot is very film savvy), doing his own underwater stunt work, and his overall career choices, including some beloved Hallmark holiday movies. Then writer/director MICHAEL DONEGAR joins the fun to talk about BRAMPTON'S OWN. The story of Alex, a smalltown guy whose heart and head and lifelong focus is set on making it to "The Show" aka Major League Baseball, frustration sets in when he is passed over again by his current Minor League club. Back to his hometown and his mom when the season ends, Alex starts questioning his choices in life, both personally and professionally. A story about sacrifice and choices, there is resonance for all. One of my favorite interviews and guests to appear on #BTLRadioShow, listen as Michael talks about the genesis of the film and his personal connection to the themes in play, casting (including the marvelous Jean Smart), shooting logistics (how about a 42-page shot list?), cinematography, visual design, development and lensing of some wonderful sequences involving pitching machines, and of course, influences of baseball movies that have come before. http://behindthelensonline.net http://eliasentertainmentnetwork.com
To tide you over until Murphy returns to your screens tomorrow, here's an outtake from our delightful interview with Richard Harmon, where we put him through the same exercise we gave Sachin with "Back to the Future": recasting his favorite movie using characters from "The 100."
The endlessly delightful Richard Harmon joins us on Meta Station this week to talk about growing up in a family of artists, the creative freedom of no-fucks-given auditioning, Murphy's flexible morality, the cathartic nature of portraying dark characters, and Murphy's relationships with Bellamy, Clarke, Emori, Abby and others going into season 5. ALIE gave it her best effort to shut down the entire interview via endless technical difficulties (which is why you'll hear Claire disappear altogether for a few minutes in the middle) but an evil A.I. is no match for the charm of a Harmon who once bought Claire and Erin shots of Jameson, and ultimately we prevailed. (Don't worry, the glitches have been edited out.)
