In this episode of The Real ResQ, host Jason Quinn is joined by Ashlee Leppert, U.S. Coast Guard flight mech veteran, author, inspirational speaker, and certified life coach. Leppert discusses her motivation for joining the Coast Guard and her journey to becoming a flight mechanic. She speaks about many of her rescues, including a drug interdiction and migrant operation which earned her a Letter Of Commendation.  She earned a second Letter of Commendation for rescuing two elderly persons in the water. Leppert goes on to discuss a third Letter of Commendation which she earned for her maintenance work and involvement during the 2012 Republican and Democratic National Conventions. Finally, she discusses her fourth Letter of Commendation, earned for rescuing a distressed kayaker, which also made the local news.  As we go further into Leppert's career, we get into a complex nighttime rescue of a 90-year-old man on a 65-foot sailing vessel. This rescue earned her a Coast Guard Achievement Medal. Next, we get into what Leppert did during the rescue efforts of Hurricane Harvey. These efforts earned her an Air Medal and a trip to Washington, D.C., to be a part of President Trump's 2018 State of The Union Speech.   We conclude our conversation with what she's doing now. Leppert talks about writing the book, The Hurricane Within, so that she could share her story. In addition to writing a book, she has become a life coach to help others overcome their struggles. Her advice emphasizes the importance of taking care of oneself in order to be a leader in all aspects of life. She is currently a public speaker and a life coach.  Enjoy! Darrell Castle talks about the dark and angry State of the Union Speech and asserts that there was no optimism or hope, but the content was all based on lies. Transcription / Notes A STATE OF THE UNION BASED ON LIES Hello, this is Darrell Castle with Today's Castle Report. This is Friday, the 15th day of March in the year of our Lord 2024. I will be talking about the dark and angry State of The Union Speech delivered by President Joe Biden last week and I point out that there was no optimism in it and no hope for the future of America and the entire premise is built on lies stacked on top of lies. A lot of things are happening in the world right now that we could be talking about such as the 4th anniversary of 15 days to stop the spread which is tomorrow. That is another lie for which honorable scientists and doctors are still being persecuted. The 2024 presidential election seems set now since Biden and Trump seem to be assured of a rematch. Elections in at least 64 countries with about 50% of the world's people are scheduled to be held this year. Those topics would all make good subjects for this report but only one election is part of the speech, except our own of course. The most important election outside of our own is being held in Russia this weekend. Putin will win by a large margin and that makes the election a sham according to the American press. However, Putin is very popular in Russia and his election by a wide margin does not therefore mean that it is a sham. His policies have produced high growth for Russia with low unemployment and inflation lower than ours. His finding alternate currencies to take BRICS nations outside the dollar system seems to be resonating with a lot of the world's people. The world is changing as people look for leadership and some example of moral authority. In Argentina, for example, the election of Javier Milei was in December, but his policies are being felt now. When he took office the inflation rate was 143% and the Argentine currency had collapsed. The people were desperate for an answer since 40% of them lived in poverty. He implemented a radical policy based on reality instead of debt leading to default repeatedly. He cut government spending by 50% and eliminated many departments and government subsidies. He stabilized the currency and has already eliminated the massive deficit. When the Argentine legislature will not support his ideas, he goes to the provincial governors for their support locally and it seems to be working. I mention the Argentine election to show that despite our troubles we can still succeed if the people will allow it and demand it. Here in America the president tells us that his political opponent is the equivalent of Adolph Hitler. The president and his department of justice are currently affecting a campaign of lawfare against that opponent he referred to as his predecessor. I suppose it's all because their Russia-gate hoax of 2016 to 2020 timeframe has not worked so well and he needs a new one. Speaking of Russia, the leader of that country is Hitler too according to President Biden. Putin is going to tear through Ukraine but he won't stop there. No, unless America sends tens of billions more in money and weapons to Ukraine the evil Putin will roll up all of Europe and reinstate the Soviet Union.  That is all just complete nonsense and fantasy with not a word of truth in it but apparently this man and the people who write his speeches expect us to believe it, and unfortunately many people do. He got rousing applause with each lie he told as if the SOTU speech was a sporting event. I suppose Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi set the tone for that when she made a show of tearing up Donald Trump's transcript while he was delivering the speech. No sense of decorum or dignity is left in the congress or president.  Tiny Ukraine can defeat massive Russia, of course, if we Americans are willing to continually add to our children's debt load the interest payment...

During an exclusive conversation, it came to light that the anticipated Republican flag-bearer and former US President, elaborated upon the tragic circumstances surrounding the family of Laken Riley, a budding nurse who tragically lost her life last month in an incident allegedly perpetrated by an undocumented immigrant. The pain of her loss was poignantly described as the loss of a 'heavenly soul'. Furthermore, he expressed his grief over the lack of compassion displayed by President Joe Biden towards the bereaved family, especially after using an incorrect name for their lost child during his State of the Union Speech. Laken Riley, a future nurse with immeasurable potential, was considered by her peers as a luminous beacon of positivity. Her life was brutally cut short on the premises of The University of Georgia's campus, towards the end of February. A friend raised the alarm when Riley didn't return from a routine jog in the vicinity of the university's recreational fields. Tragically, help came too late for the young woman as emergency responders discovered her lifeless form with an absence of pulse. Despite fervent attempts at revival through CPR, her life could not be reclaimed. Upon closer examination, distinct marks of injury on Riley's person led the concerned authorities to suspect criminal involvement and instigated a thorough probe into the matter. Jose Antonio Ibarra, a 26-year-old man, quickly became the focal point of the investigation. It emerged in due course that Riley had been subjected to a violent beating with a blunt object, resulting in a fatal and brutal disfigurement of her features. Following this horrific act, Ibarra allegedly moved her remains to an isolated spot.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Today's show opens with Tara Bull's Top 10 News items, which had a few items that came directly from reactions to last night's State of the Union 2024 speech. After we run through that, it's time to dive into the main topic of the show, the SOTU 2024. Next, I chose to go through my X timeline in real-time to give you a sense of my immediate reactions as I was listening to Joe Biden deliver his speech. It was the most divisive and non-statesman-like speech I have ever heard any president give in my lifetime. It was a State of the Democrat Party speech or a State of his Campaign speech, but it was nothing close to a State of the Union speech. I then play quotes from CNN that immediately followed the speech and how they mirrored my own observations. It's stunning to see how even Leftist cable news agencies saw it the same way. One of the biggest gaffes made by Biden related to a challenge from Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene to say the name of Laken Riley, who was bludgeoned to death by an illegal. Biden was goaded into saying “Lincoln” Riley was killed by an illegal, but then deflected to how many Americans are killed by non-illegals and that he feels for Riley's parents because he lost a kid too. You cannot make this up. However, the Left saw the gaffe differently. They were really angry that Biden used the word “illegal.” In bite after bite, the Left seems bent on apologizing to the murderer for making him feel bad by the President calling him an illegal. Just evil and devoid of any sense of reality. I call balls and strikes on this show and I have to throw the GOP response under the bus, too. Senator Katie Britt was chosen to give the response and while I was fine with her starting with setting a dark and depressing tone, I quickly realized we were going to then get 10 minutes of a B-grade, unknown actress trying to be dramatic in her first role on a Hallmark movie-of-the-week. It was over-acted, melodramatic and lacked giving us any kind of a positive vision for the future. The GOP missed a perfect opportunity to provide a contrast to what Biden just put us through. The Legacy/mainstream media got their memo on how to describe last night's SOTU. Multiple outlets all used the phrase “...firey State of the Union Speech…”. The collusion is too easy to see once you know how to read them. Finally, I close with a piece in The Federalist written by Shawn Fleetwood did a magnificent jobs of listing the 30 biggest lies contained in the speech. I covered many of them in my show, but the list covers some I didn't get to. Take a moment to rate and review the show and then share the episode on social media. Every year, in the month of February, we pause to take a look at African-American History, to think of the African-American story and how it involves the grand American story. However, in our society today, so much is coming around now trying to dictate what that story was and is. So this week on CURE America, we take that pause – not to solely sift through the noise of the news as we normally do, but this time to sift through the noise of history as well. We're joined by Delano Squires, Research Fellow at the Heritage Foundation and contributor of The Blaze. Delano takes us through the story and ideals of the man Frederick Douglass, and how the actions of the Left today are not just a contrast to this hero's ideals - they're in direct opposition to his messages of freedom and uplifting the individual, not uplifting the government. Lakuita Bittle, Director of Attorney Ministries at the Christian Legal Society, highlights the profile of another hero in the story, Harriet Tubman, and the great work of the Christian Legal Society in uplifting individuals to safeguard life and liberty. Pastor Dan Crabtree of the Immanuel Bible Church takes us through his recent book, “A House Without Walls: How Christ Unites His Ethnically Divided Church,” and how the greatest truth will always remain in the gospel, and how that truth unites us, regardless of race and background. In the midst of honoring these legacies and stories, we take a moment to sift through President Biden's State of the Union Speech, with Richard Manning having CURE's Marty Dannenfelser join him on the panel. All is guest hosted once again by Jonathan Alexandre, who guides us on an analysis and appreciation of the people and stories within African-American History.

Darrell Castle talks about the State of the Union Speech delivered by President Joe Biden on February 7, 2023. SOTU-2023 A LONG POINTLESS SPEECH Hello, this is Darrell Castle with today's Castle Report. This is Friday the 10th day of February in the year of our Lord 2023. I will be talking about the State of the Union Speech delivered Tuesday night, February 7th by President Joe Biden. I call the speech pointless because it has become just another campaign speech filled with lies and boondoggle promises of things that can't and should not be afforded. There are always a lot of promises of a glorious new future, but it is hard to see how this old politician can lead us into such a future. Yes, it was filled with lies or if you wish to be kind just a lot of political puffery. This entire Castle Report could be filled with nothing but a list of lies in the speech but what would be the point. I always dread the speech even if given by a president that I personally voted for let alone this one. This would have been a good year to return to the Jeffersonian practice of writing a letter and having it read to congress assembled by a clerk. Egos are just too strong, the allure of the TV cameras and the world press too much for today's politician to resist. The speech to a joint session is supposed to be a time for the United States to put the majesty and glory of its political system, its achievements, and its power before the world for all to see. So, the 80-year-old politician walks up to the podium and delivers a speech written by others but supposedly with his advice and approval. He brags about the economy and tells us that 12 million new jobs have been created on his watch, but he knows it is more like two million or not quite enough for each migrant he has invited. He doesn't mention that millions of families struggle every week to buy groceries which are up in price more than 20% on his watch. Those same families struggle to buy gas to get to work since it is now over $4.00 per gallon for many.  The whole world sees this octogenarian president shouting, whispering, and lying his way through the speech. I wonder if they know it is mostly lying as the Republicans in the room seem to know. The atmosphere is raucous more like a British Parliament speech and reminds me of the way they shouted at Trump. I wonder if they know as American families know that even for those with a decent salary, inflation outstrips wage growth causing them to lose ground each month. He tells us that America is a unique nation, one that always bounces back from adversity stronger than before. For evidence he cited Covid which shut down our businesses, closed our schools, and robbed us of so much today, but thanks to his efforts Covid no longer controls our lives. Well, no, Mr. President, Covid did not do all those horrible things, but the health authorities backed by government force did. I'm saying it was not Covid but your reaction to Covid that caused the problems. I point to Sweden as evidence because Sweden did not lock down and close businesses and that country suffered far less than we here in the U.S. did. I would suggest an apology to the millions of people whose lives were torn apart, their jobs taken away, their children barred from school rather than portraying yourself as some kind of conquering hero. Apology and accountability are in order, and we demand it from you and the government you lead. Perhaps the president's most cringeworthy moment was when he claimed that two years ago our democracy faced its greatest threat since the Civil War. That statement at least made me cringe and wonder how many people accept his claptrap as the truth. The truth is that two years ago we had an election in which people voted. The results of that election were contested but those who contested it didn't claim we should have no more elections. They didn't demand that we should stop being a democracy and go back to being a republic again although we should...

This weekend’s Super Bowl is almost certain to be the most legally bet-on sports event in U.S. history. Since the Supreme Court struck down a federal ban on sports betting five years ago, the industry has seriously taken off, mostly thanks to online wagers. Goldman Sachs predicts that by 2033, the online sports betting business could rake in $39 billion in annual revenue. With online sports betting, you can bet from almost anywhere. And it turns out, you can bet on almost anything. “At BetMGM for example, there are a thousand of these prop bets. How many yards is Patrick Mahomes going to throw? … How long is Chris Stapleton’s National Anthem going to last? What song will Rihanna start with at the halftime show?” said Danny Funt, editor at The Week magazine and a freelance sports journalist. On the show today, Funt explains the business of sports betting, how it’s transformed the fan experience and some of the risks that come with a rapidly growing gambling industry. In the News Fix: Speaking of the Super Bowl, HBO’s zombie drama “The Last of Us” will release its next episode early to avoid going head-to-head with the big game. Also, a recent interview with Jerome Powell gives some insight on the Federal Reserve chair’s game plan. And Kimberly Adams shares a story about local Buy Nothing groups that she found serendipitously while reading a good old-fashioned newspaper. This week, biologists are excited about what might be a unique protein found inside an ancient meteorite, which could have tremendous implications not just for alien life, but also raises questions about the origins of life here on Earth. Astronomers have also located what is believed to be evidence for the biggest explosion ever found in the cosmos, and an unusual, anaerobic life form that lives in the living tissue of another aquatic creature.  We then turn our attention toward the topic of mystery aircraft and secretive black budget programs that the U.S. military has allegedly been involved with for decades. The history of spy planes and secret aircraft since the end of WWII begins at Area 51, the secret test facility at Groom Lake, Nevada, which has attained near-mythical status over the years for the rumors about UFO-like aircraft developed there. However, among the known kinds of aircraft that were built and flown out of the facility were the U-2 spy plane and its successor, the SR-71 Blackbird. Since the SR-71 was decommissioned in 1990, many aerospace experts and UFO buffs alike have wondered what other kinds of top-secret, experimental aircraft might have been developed there over the years. Further questions surround reports of eerie, massive flying wings and "black triangles" seen in the skies over parts of the American southwestern deserts and various other locales. The Pentagon has maintained that no such aircraft exist... but if so, how can we account for the hundreds of sighting reports, which have led to investigations by organizations ranging from the Federation of American Scientists, to Robert Bigelow's National Institute for Discovery Science? Our deep-dive this week takes us beyond "Deep Black" as we go in search of answers behind the enduring mystery aircraft of Area 51.  Enjoy The Micah Hanks Program? His new book is Nuking the Moon: And Other Intelligence Schemes and Military Plots Left on the Drawing Board. Houghton explains how the Cold War spawned fantastical science fiction-like weapons programs and plans by the United States government and the Pentagon such as atomic bomb-powered spacecraft, nuking the moon, psychic soldiers with the powers of telekinesis and mind control, and cyborg cats and other animals. Houghton also shares his thoughts on Russia's new “wonder weapons” such as doomsday submarine drones and hypersonic nuclear-powered cruise missiles. And it appears that Donald Trump was not so crazy in his suggestion about using nuclear weapons to deflect or perhaps even neutralize hurricanes. Chauncey DeVega reflects on another crazy week in TrumpWorld which saw the Republicans declare Trump a king in the Senate, and his deranged State of the Union Speech which was an amazing and great television spectacle. Chauncey also shares some new public opinion and other data which shows, again, that Donald Trump will likely win again in 2020 and that the Democratic Party and its supporters are profoundly horrible at politics and winning. The breach exposed the data of some 143 million Americans to hackers. But Mulvaney has been working behind the scenes by not ordering any subpoenas, seeking sworn testimony, or really anything that would suggest CFPB is doing anything to further the investigation. CFPB has also blocked other agencies such as the FDIC and Federal Reserve from even stepping in to help out with the investigation. The U.S. Court of Appeals also affirmed Mulvaney's poltically-charged appointment. Study finds text reminders reduced arrest warrants for those who fail to appear in court A new University of Chicago Crime Lab and ideas42 study that was funded, in part, by the MacArthur Foundation, found that texts reminding people about court appearances in New York City, reduced Failure to Appear "FTA" arrest warrants by as much as a third. Changes to the summons form, that put the most relevant information on top, such as the date, time and place of the court appearance, plus the penalty associated with failing to appear,  translated to a reduction of FTA arrest warrants by 17,000, when the form changes were implemented system-wide. U.S. Census Bureau to Ignore Detailed Race Classification The U.S. Census Bureau is bowing to an apparent effort by the Trump administration to ensure that as many people as possible claim their race as "White" for census purposes. The Census Bureau released a statement on January 26th saying that the 2020 Census would ignore the Obama Administration's recommendation to allow census respondents to check specific ethnicities along with racial categories. Instead, the Bureau will continue to emphasize the broader racial categories of White and Black, with Hispanics and Latinos only being able to write-in their heritage, but also having to choose their race as Black or White. The form also indicates "Egyptian" as an example of "White". Additionally, the "White" racial category will continue to be listed first. But that would have been the case on the form that the Obama administration recommended as well. The Census Bureau has until March 31st to make its final determination. Darrell Castle talks about the State of the Union speech given by President Donald Trump on Tuesday night, January 30, 2018, and the Democrat reaction to it. Transcription / Notes THE STATE OF THE UNION AND DEMOCRAT SOLIDARITY Hello, this is Darrell Castle with today's Castle Report. Today is Friday, February 2, 2018, and on today's report I will be talking about the State of the Union Speech given by President Donald Trump last Tuesday night.  The President obviously had a plan for this speech.  He probably intended it to be a unity speech full of pro-American things that any American who loves his country would have to stand and applaud for.  It included very little of the usual bombast that we have come to expect from such speeches, and was, for all intents and purposes, a kinder, gentler, and more Presidential, Donald Trump. The President probably wanted this speech to be a hand reaching across the aisle and inviting opponents to work with him on fixing our immigration and infrastructure problems.  The Democrats, however, came to the speech with their own pro-unity expectations, and their own agenda.  Do not show any respect for this man in any way, and show only the most vile hatred and despicable incivility toward him.  Do not clap for anything that you are not absolutely bound to show mild applause for, and don't stand for anything, not even “In God We Trust.” The two agendas, so different in their intent, created one of the most embarrassing spectacles that I can remember seeing in all my years of watching State of the Union speeches.  A couple of times I thought the two Parties had perhaps changed places, after all isn't the Democratic Party the one that is supposed to cheer an announcement that black unemployment has fallen to the lowest level in history.  The Democrats didn't stand for that announcement, not even the African-Americans, so I wondered what gives here, but then I got it. They were just trying to show solidarity, even if their show is anti-American and not in the best interest of their African-American base.  I guess having more African-Americans employed than ever before just doesn't interest the Democrat Party as much as having all their voters on welfare so they will be totally dependent on Democrat politicians for their sustenance.  Perhaps people out there where Americans live, i.e., outside the beltway, feel differently, perhaps they appreciate the opportunity to have a decent job.  Perhaps African-American working men and women, fathers and mothers don't really appreciate always being placed behind foreigners, who the Democrats seem to think have some kind of civil right to come to this country illegally and take their jobs. He came to speak to average Americans, normal working people, and that is what he did.  He came to announce that his programs are starting to work and that is apparently more than his Democrat enemies can stand.  His tax reform package is perhaps still a high risk gamble but it is already paying tremendous dividends. Here in my city of Memphis, Tennessee, a city I will add, that is desperately in need of good jobs and some type of economic growth, Fed Ex just announced that in response to the tax plan the company will spend 3.2 billion dollars on new jobs, raises, and bonuses for employees and expansion.  Fed Ex will get the credit here, but the company made it clear that the tax cuts were what allowed it. The same thing has been happening around the country as hundreds of companies have announced similar intentions.  When Trump spoke in Davos, Switzerland the other day, at the World Economic Forum, he hosted a dinner for European business leaders and CEO's.  He apparently wanted to talk to them about the current economic boom in America and how they could participate.  The reports were that, one by one, they came by to speak with him and tell him that in light of his tax program they would be manufacturing again in America as well as investing billions.

Last night I watched President Obama deliver the State of the Union Speech and probably the only good thing about the speech is that it was his last one It will probably go down in history as the most clueless State of the Union Address ever All he talked about was how great the economy is - how he created all these jobs He even had the chutzpah to take credit for reducing the budget deficit! President Obama will have doubled the national debt during his presidency He added more debt than every president from George Washington to George Bush, combined, yet he's taking credit for reducing the deficit At least when George Bush gave his final State of the Union Address he acknowledged problems brewing in the economy He acknowledged concerns being addressed by the American people and validated them He talked about the stimulus plan he had, which I did not agree with, but at least he knew the economy was in some trouble Although he acknowledged that economic growth was slowing and that housing was down, he didn't come close to preparing Americans for what was about to unfold by the middle of the year In fact, when the President delivered that State of the Union Address, the economy was already in recession, although the government had not acknowledged it yet He had no idea how precarious the state of the economy was, we were on the precipice of  a big cliff and he was still optimistic, long term, but cautious given the slowdown in the economy and he wanted to come up with some kind of stimulus to mitigate the slowdown He did not foresee or warn about the severity of the problem, but at least he acknowledged some problem In contrast, rather than at least acknowledging weakness in the economy, President Obama claims victory over the Great Recession, that he restored economic health and vitality The few problems in the economy are beyond his control because the economy is changing What we do need is more government money for education, to train people for this new economy, we need a higher minimum wage, we need higher taxes on the rich, but other than that everything is great President Obama's State of the Union Address is on the order of magnitude more clueless that George W. Bush's last SOTU on the eve of the Great Recession We are now on the eve of a collapse even greater, yet President Obama is saying everything is awesome What President Obama did is to lecture the American people as to why they have nothing to be concerned about - basically saying that anyone who says that the economy is in decline is peddling fiction. Obviously the people who don't recognize the decline in our economy are in denial, or have a political agenda What the President said is, "If you think the economy is headed in the wrong direction, if you think America is in decline, you're wrong, it's just that the economy is changing Remember, you voted for me and I promised change It's changing because it's getting worse, that's the change President Obama points to technology as the problem in the economy - a transition that only makes you feel like you're falling behind even though you're not The technological revolution did not begin with the election of President Obama It has been no more transformative, even less so, than the industrial revolution Machines put a lot more people out of work than computers but we saw an expanding labor force, but women left the labor force, because their husbands started making more money Real wages were rising The industrial revolution took place in a free market economy The technological revolution is taking place in a government controlled economy The reason so many people are suffering is not because so many technology is changing What's changing is the size of government We used to be a free market and now we're not The reason for so much poverty and decline, and that the President is unwilling to admit, is that the government is responsible

So today is the day after the first State Of The Union address by President Obama, and so many things were said in it I just couldn't call myself a political junkie and not bring it to my platform. In case you just started hearing of K-100, I am an Obama supporter, I voted for him, and I also have been critical of him when I didn't agree with a move he made. That's just how I am, NO ONE is above it, but make no mistake, I WANT HIM TO BE AS SUCCESSFUL AS POSSIBLE. The PROBLEM with that, is he is not a KING, he is just a PRESIDENT, which means he has to work with CONGRESS & the SENATE, and those idiots make me sick (DEMS & REP). So in short I will address some of the things I saw and heard in the presidents address last night. He talked about a few things that I know will NEVER come to pass in this country, but hey at least he brought them up. I couldn't help but watch the Republicans in the room squirm at words like "pay your fair share of taxes" and "stop helping companies that ship jobs over seas". The look on some of their faces was priceless. The mediocre "response" from them was pathetic. In any event, I want to tackle some of the issues that were addressed in the Presidents State Of The Union speech, and I want to know what the K-100 listeners think of it also. How would you rate it, what do you agree or disagree on, do you think it helped him in his re-election bid, do you think it made someone who was unsure about him want to vote for him...those type of things. If you are NOT politically astute, going toe to toe with me tonight MIGHT not be such a good idea..but if you are and you disagree with my view points, I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!
