Make your routines effortless. Come up with a plan by picking a day of week, time of day and where the routine will take place and watch how much easier it is to show up consistently. Locking it onto our calendar, we no longer wait for motivation to hit us to complete the routine. We just follow the schedule and get to it when it arrives. Today we're going to dive into the four steps to make any and all routines effortless. Routines are our personal accountability partner to consistently show up and work on our habits, goals, passion projects etc. In order to make these routines effortless, we need to pay attention to when we're most excited to complete these routines and schedule them into our lives respectfully. That way when it comes time to get to work, we're setting ourselves up for success to show up and get it done. 3 steps to create effortless routines : 1. Pick a day or days of the week that works best to complete the routine. It's totally up to you, just make it the easiest possible day to complete the task. 2. Choose a time of day that feels best to complete it. It will vary based on what the routine is so continue to test & try different times until you find that sweet spot. 3. Decide where the routine will take place ahead of time so you know exactly where to be and it will help you mentally and physically show up prepared. If adjustments on location need to be made, pivot accordingly. Challenge for the listeners Take 10 minutes within the next 24hrs and consider some of your routines. Do you just do them when you feel like it? Do you notice you enjoy doing certain routines more depending on time of day or day of week you complete them? Is there a certain place you find helps make you most comfortable to drop into it and get into a flow? If possible, schedule out these routines into your life and know the day of week, time of day and where to do them ahead of time. I will help you stay accountable and consistent. 1,000 days of no sex. There was a period in my life from fall of 2017 to spring of 2021 where I completely eliminated dating. The year leading into this I was heartbroken, was beginning my creative career & was trying to get my s*** together on what I wanted to do with my life post-college. Wanting to go all in on myself, I spent 0 time or energy pursuing women and used that time for myself. During this period of my life it was truly challenging because I felt ashamed to admit this to anyone & kept it to myself. Today we're going to dive into the 4 lessons I learned while going 1,000 days celibate. 1,000 days of celibacy taught me these 4 lessons : 1 : Fall in love with yourself first. We need to get to know the person we see in the mirror first before we spend any time or energy trying to attract love from someone else. 2 : Happiness doesn't com from someone else. Yes an intimate relationship will bring a certain joy but we can find happiness in our day to day lives by having gratitude for the journey that we are on. 3 : Be mindful of who you spend your time and energy on. Both are something we can never get back so it's important to be aware of who we give our attention to. 4 : Own your truth. No matter where you're at in your life or how you feel, just own it and be unapologetic about it. If people judge you for it, are they really people you want in your life? Challenge for the listeners : Spend 10 minutes within the next 24hrs and consider if there's anything in your life that is distracting you from becoming the best version of you. For me that meant eliminating dating for sometime which led to the celibacy but for you it could be something else. All I ask if you take a moment to pause, think about it, become aware of it and make a decision if or what changes may need to be made moving forward. Get sustained energy with Tenzo Tea! 3 marathons in 6 months. I knew someday I wanted to run a marathon but never did I think I'd run back to back to back marathons. They say the third time is the charm and it most definitely was with The Boston Marathon. This was a dream of mine since I was kid & I couldn't have been more prepared come race day. My legs were fresh, the weather was perfect & I was able to crush through all 26.2 miles without feeling completely gased out . Today we're going to dive into why I wanted to run Boston, the training that happened behind the scenes and 7 lessons I learned from the experience. 7 lessons from running the Boston Marathon : Lesson 1 : Do the work even when nobody is watching. We have to become our biggest accountability partner and continue to show up daily. Lesson 2 : Focus on the small steps. There's no need to get overwhelmed thinking about what has yet to come & the best way to do that is by being present and focusing on what's in front of you right now. Lesson 3 : Push through the bad days. It's inevitable we may hit a wall and not have the motivation to do what we need to do but these are the moments we need to show up Lesson 4 : Slow down to speed up. It may feel like we're “losing progress” in the moment but we're setting ourselves up for the long-term. It's a marathon, not a sprint. Lesson 5 : Treat your mind & body with care. It will ripple into every area of your life as you're able to show up as the best version of you. Lesson 6 : Be thankful for your supporters. Never take for granted the people that go out of their way to show love & support. When given the opportunity, do the same for others. Lesson 7 : Get started today. I wouldn't have been able to complete a marathon had I not taken that first step to go run a mile. After that, it's just a game of staying consistent and then the progress comes. Challenge for the listeners : Spend 10 minutes within the next 24hrs and write a list of bucket list items you've always wanted to cross off. It doesn't matter what it is, write it down. After you have that list, start at the top and cross off one item at a time. Questions from the SDI Community Tony Nash : What did you say to yourself to keep going? Kevin : Were you nervous putting yourself out there to raise the funds? Maddie Torres : What was something you didn't expect to feel but felt? My father : Of the three marathons, which one is your favorite? Kevin : What's next? Get sustained energy with Tenzo Tea! I love morning routines. It's the time of the day I get to cross off a few personal items on my to-do list that help me feel my best self. It's the time of the day I'm completely disconnected from my phone so I don't get distracted checking texts, emails or social media. Over the years the routines have changed and evolved but the result is the same : I'm prepared for day in front of me. Today we're going to dive into the 6 steps that I take to create momentum for the day ahead. Let's fire it up. 6 steps that I take to create momentum for the day ahead : Step 1 : Making my bed every morning helps build the initial momentum for the day ahead. As small of a step as it might be, it's the first item on my daily to-do list I get to cross off which helps jumpstart my day. Step 2 : No phone for the first three hours of the day. Other than checking briefly to see if there are any emergencies, I put all of my attention towards my morning routine so that I can truly get myself ready for the day ahead. I've done my best to create healthy space between myself and being connected to the world at my finger tips. Step 3 : Clearing my mind daily helps me acknowledge the good and bad thoughts that may arise. The combination of meditation and journaling gets my mind right and ready for the day ahead. Step 4 : Completing creative work early on in my day is super beneficial because I have no distractions and I'm coming off a full nights rest which means I have the energy to think. Step 5 : Morning sweat allows me to prepare my mind, body & soul for the day ahead. It truly warms me up for the next 24hrs ahead of me. Step 6 : Eating a breakfast of a champion helps fuel me for the day ahead. In order to operate at my highest level, I need to fuel my body with the proper foods and breakfast necessary if I want to make the best of the 24hrs. Challenge for the listeners : Spend 10minutes within the next 24hrs and consider how you spend the first hour of your day. Do you prioritize the routines that help you feel your best self? Are there certain changes you wish to make? Let this episode be the inspiration to hopefully help make the necessary changes you want Questions from SDI Community : Sander : Do you notice any difference between the different foods you start the morning with? Evening routines are just as important as morning routines. Without them, I wouldn't be able to wake up feeling motivated, refreshed and recharged. My evening routine is built to hold me accountable to getting enough sleep & helps me sloooow down from a busy day. I do make exceptions here and there but for the most part I follow this routine every week day. Today we're diving into the 5 specific steps that help me prepare myself for the next day and allow me to fall asleep with ease. 5 steps of my evening routine 1 : Determining a weekday bedtime has helped to make sure I get enough sleep for the next day so that I can be fully recharged and ready to go 2 : Eliminating sounds and light has helped me sleep through the night with ease. Having ear plugs and a night mask for when needed has been crucial. 3 : Limiting food + liquid consumption before bed helps me sleep through the night without waking up. Decreasing alcohol consumption to none when possible only helps increase the sleep quality. 4 : Turning on Do Not Disturb mode 30 minutes before bed helps me detach myself from my phone and builds a boundary around me so that people can't reach me as I am getting ready to settle in for the night 5 : Watching entertainment on YouTube or Netflix helps me slow my mind down and helps switch gears from a busy day to getting ready to pass out. Challenge for the listeners Spend 10 minutes within the next 24hrs to consider what your evening routine looks like. Do you just go to bed when you feel like it? Do you watch another episode of Netflix when you know you should go to sleep? Do you answer texts up until you pass out? I'm not saying I have all the answers but I challenge you to take a moment to consider what your evening routine should look like for you. Even just picking a bedtime can help make sure you're getting plenty of sleep. Consider it, test some routines out and see how differently you feel come the morning. Questions from Stay Dialed In Community Alica : How would your night routine look if you only have 5min? So hard for me to stick to one. Dev : How often do you make exceptions to the evening routine? The best way to not get overwhelmed about the future is to stop thinking so far ahead. Instead lets focus on the 24hrs ahead of us and that's it. If we were actually able to do that, how much more productive would we be? How less anxious would we feel about the future? How much more present would we feel just focusing on what's in front of us right now? Todays the day we commit to living 24hrs at a time. Three tips that I've learned to use when trying to focus on the day head include : (1) Daily to-do lists have been essential to making sure I'm staying productive but not overworking myself in a given 24hrs. It also helps me feel a sense of accomplishment when the day is done when looking at the list of items I've crossed off. (2) Focus sprinting has allowed me to focus on the task at hand so that I can get it done efficiently and effectively. I never sacrifice quality but I do sacrifice all the side distractions so that I can get the job done. (3) “Cross that bridge when we get there” helps me focus on the day ahead by not allowing myself to get anxious or overwhelmed thinking about things that I'm weeks out from. Challenge for listeners For the next 7 days I want you to remind yourself every morning before you even roll out of bed to focus on the day ahead of you. I don't mean just remind yourself, say it out loud and really hear it. See if it changes your mood or the way you approach the day ahead. I have a feeling it may just work to your benefit. What's something you've always wanted to do but have procrastinated taking the first step? We come up with every excuse in the book to not do and eventually time passes and we're disappointed we still haven't attempted it. What I've learned is to commit before you're ready and then take the time to prepare yourself. I locked in my 2nd marathon before I had even crossed the starting line of the first one. Was I nervous? Did it scare me a bit? Of course, but I knew once it was on my calendar, I had no other option but to prepare for it. Today we're going to dive into what go one more marathon experience was like and by the end I want you all to commit to something you've pushed off for far too long. Are you ready to face that fear? Let's fire it up! 7 lesson from the marathon Lesson 1 : Commit first, then reverse engineer a plan for how you're going to execute it. Lesson 2 : It may seem like we're hurting our progress by slowing down but in reality it will help us speed up in time. Lesson 3 : Regardless of the circumstances, we must become our biggest supporter Lesson 4: Break everything down into micro steps and tell yourself to go just on more. In time, that progress will add up. Lesson 5 : Getting from point A to point B is no small feat regardless of what area of your life it might be. Embrace the wins and learn from the experience in how you can improve for the future Lesson 6 : Short term pain is temporary but pride is permanent and can be carried with you for a lifetime. Lesson 7 : In order to do something great, you will need a team of people around you. If you want to go far, go together. Challenge for the listeners I really want ya'll to spend 10 minutes in the next 24hrs and consider something you've always wanted to do but yet you've found every excuse in the book to push it off till later. I'm not judging you because I have been there before, trust me. Today begins the journey of you accomplishing whatever it is you want to do. Think about it, commit to it by putting it on your calendar and whatever you do… make sure you show up and get it done by the deadline. Learning to let go of situations, narratives and unwanted thoughts is one of the most important lessons I've learned. In the past I would get stressed out on something that ultimately was completely out of my control & I would let it ruin my day. Whether it was the way someone felt about me, the critical voice in my head that puts me down or the way I was treated in a given situation, I would cave in these moments. It wasn't fair that I was allowing these moments to get to me and so I became aware of it and have made a conscious effort to not let them get to me. Don't get me wrong, I've still got a LOT to learn but I have made a bit of progress which has helped my overall well-being, energy and the way I present myself to the world. Today we're going to dive into the 4 principles for letting go of what we can't control… let's fire it up! Four principles of letting go (1) Accept the reality of the situation for what it is. Don't waste any time or energy wishing things were different, face the truth head on. (2) Respond to situations, don't react. Weigh the options, sit on them for a bit and then pick what you feel is the best way to respond to a given situation. (3) Look for the gold in every situation. Even if things don't shake out the way you'd hope, look for what you learned & how that may help you for the future. (4) Trust the flow of the world. Timing is incredibly important and even if things didn't play out the way you hoped they would, know that the universe is looking after you. Something great will come from this. Challenge for the listeners Spend 10 minutes within the next 24hrs and consider are there any current narratives, situations, experiences etc that you have not let go of yet? That still bubble up on your mind today or maybe even right now? Take a moment to really pause and sit on it. There is no reason to be ashamed or embarrassed, we're all human and all humans are emotional individuals regardless if you want to admit it or not. There is something you want in your life & you're anxiously waiting for the day to come when you reach the goal. That's something that we all have in common. We always want something & most times we can't get it immediately - we have to work for it. Just this week I released a podcast with the man who inspired me to start podcasting, Lewis Howes. This was a goal of mine that I waited five years for and I can honestly say it was well worth the wait. The question we need to ask ourselves : How long are we willing to wait for our own dreams to manifest into reality? Today we're going to dive into four reminders that will help us have a patience mindset. Ready to dive in? Let's fire it UP! 4 reminders for having a patient mindset : (1) Ask For What you Want : Always ask for what you want and if you don't get it, no problem. Keep putting in the work, have some patience and when the time feels right to ask again then go for it. (2) The Longer It Takes, The More Prepared We'll Be : Remind yourself daily that the longer it takes you to get what you want, the more time you will have to prepare for that moment. Luck is when opportunity meets preparation. (3) Timing Is Important : We never want to force things if it's not meant to be. Trust the flow of the world and when it's supposed to happen, it will. (4) Soak It In When It Finally Happens : Regardless of how long it took to get what you want, take time to slow down and embrace the win. Smelling the roses will only help us get more inspired to get back to the work towards the next goal when necessary. Challenge for the listeners Spend 10 minutes within the next 24 hours and consider how you can incorporate this patient mindset towards some of the goals you're working towards today or even into the new year. At the end of the day, we need to believe in ourselves before the world does and so long as we do, we will cross off these goals in time. There is no if, ands or buts about it. Questions from the Stay Dialed In Community Kristopher : How to stay patient during low points? How to keep the end goal in your mind all times? Will : Being young and hungry yes but knowing when to be patient to avoid burnout Get sustained energy with Tenzo Tea! Tenzo Tea is considered as the Tesla of Matcha, according to Steve. It is the perfect ingredient for continuous energy without the crash and other adverse effects that coffee can cause because it is ethically sourced and uses only ceremonial matcha. Steve would drink 4-5 cups of coffee a day and feel jittery, have stomach pain, and other adverse effects as a result of the coffee. Steve also discusses the remarkable Tenzo Tea story, in which they met their source practically by accident and built a close friendship that has lasted to this day. Tenzo's development narrative and how they've been able to produce basic creatives that have yielded volumes for the bra is also a big part of DTC. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/genius-juice/support

Tenzo Tea was founded in 2016 to make the world a healthier place. They’re on a mission to share the healthiest drink on the planet with the healthy lifestylers and self-optimizers of the world. Their founders, Robbie and Steve, created Tenzo Tea because they were tired of crashing from unhealthy energy. When they asked around, they learned lots of people suffered from the same problem as well. With only one college degree between the two of them and almost a zero percent chance of success (according them them
How would you feel if you were able to get more done in less time? Are you someone that has a lot of energy & can focus throughout the day or do you always feel pretty mellow & distracted? Have you ever considered that the daily decisions you make actually impact how productive you're in a day? Today I want to discuss how we can increase both energy & focus which then increases our productivity. When we're more productive with our time, we then have extra time to spend on other areas of our life. Instead of wasting time in a given day, lets make every second, of every minute, of every hour count. Principles of increasing your energy & focus For Energy We must be aware of the foods & liquids we are fueling ourselves with on a daily basis. We must prioritize sleep so that our mind & body can get the reset it needs for the next day. We must get in 30-60mins of daily sweat per day. For Focus We must acknowledge the thoughts that arise in our head and instead of getting attached to them let them flow through us. We must consider what are the micro steps we can take today that will help us get 1% closer towards where we want to be. We must commit to 15, 30, 45 or 60mins of focus sprints where we go all in on the task at hand. We must cut out anything, everything or everyone that distracts us so we can get the job done in a timely manner. Challenge for the listeners Spend 10 minutes within the next 24hrs and consider the topics we discussed today. How can you increase your energy? How about your focus? When we get more dialed in on both, we then also increase our productivity which then gives us more time to do other things. Questions from the Stay Dialed In Community Evan : What supplements do you use (if any) for focus? Eva : Microdosing / Intermittent fasting Mark : What time you wake up in the morning and how that affects the rest of your day Manu : Are there things you set your focus on that can be detrimental? Robbie Page takes us on his journey from playing professional volleyball to founding Tenzo Tea, a matcha green tea company, specializing in organic and ceremonial matcha from Japan. Page takes us back to the beginning, explaining how he and co-founder Steve O'Dell came up with the idea for a matcha green tea company (3:25), which all started when they were playing collegiate volleyball together at the University of California, Los Angeles--an experience that assisted them in entrepreneurialism (10:26). Page then dives into everything there is to know about matcha green tea (13:02), including its lack of popularity when they first started the company in 2016 (14:35). He recalls bootstrapping their way through the first year of starting the company (20:38) and how they ultimately got the product into coffee shops in southern California (27:02). He talks about Tenzo's go-to-market strategies, including e-commerce (32:07), and its current mix of revenue between direct-to-consumer and wholesale distribution (40:37). Page concludes with his vision for the future and whether he sees Tenzo taking a step outside of matcha (44:30). Stay tuned for all of that and more! Curtis Bell is a Private Chef and the small business owner of MisoHot in Denver, Colorado. He grew up with food either stirring mac n cheese or hanging with his father and his friends as they smoked cigars, after dinner at spots like The Fort and The Palm. It was in the early days that Curtis spent time with Chef Mika at famed Trinity Grill and he knew, he was meant to be a chef. He is a born entrepreneur and goes from lemonade stands to a culinary magazine to his current CPG hot sauce venture. We talk with one of his #UnsungHospitalityHeroes, Dave Kenney, who Curtis heralds for his flexibility in creating paleo, gluten free, vegetarian, keto and just about any dietary needs of his customers, at Caveman Chefs. Website - misohot.co Facebook - /misohotofficial Instagram - @chefcurtisbell @misohotofficial Where are you from originally? Born in Aurora CO, raised in Lakewood, CO. First job in the industry? Piggin' Out BBQ in Lakewood, CO. I started as a dishwasher there the same week that I turned 14 and was able to legally work. Proudest moment of your career? Over the past few years I have felt quite proud to be able to mentor high school students for cooking competitions. Giving back to where I started is an incredible feeling. Also, Every time I have landed a big new position or client, those moments are always pretty amazing. Oh, also, launching MisoHot in less than 6 months and selling over 1000 jars of product in the first month was a pretty special feeling. Two things most people don't know about you? This is a tough one, I'm a pretty open book. One would be that some friends and I attempted to start a rap group in high school. I'm glad that didn't work out to be honest. Second, I'd say most people don't know just how many small business start-ups I have been a part of. From a magazine, to a natural glue for cigars, I have helped start a lot of different ventures. Food and/or drinks staples in your house? I almost always have fresh hot rice in my treasured Zojirushi rice cooker. I seriously go through about 20# of rice per month, and I live alone. As far as drinks, I drink matcha everyday, Tenzo Tea matcha to be specific. I stopped drinking coffee a couple years ago to cut down on caffeine and acid consumption. Words to live by? Two quotes that have been driving my motivation as of late are: "People confuse me, food doesn't" -Anthony Bourdain (my girlfriend had this printed on custom sharpies for me) and "If you have reached the top, it's your new bottom. There's always room to keep climbing" -Unknown -- That second one is the background on my phone. A constant reminder to keep pushing for more. I always say to people that the only difference between dreams and reality, is just doing it. Instead of calling it a dream, call it your plan. An experienced Private Chef and Culinary Educator, Curtis Bell is a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America with an AOS degree in Culinary Arts. He grew up right here in Denver, Colorado, and returned after culinary school to pursue his career. Over the past decade he has worked in fine dining establishments across the country, from New York City to Vail, and has cooked in the homes of billionaires, politicians, athletes and celebrities. For the past 9 years he has worked as a private chef for clients in the Denver area. He has recently launched a company called MisoHot, a miso based chili paste condiment. Also, he is currently the private chef to Von Miller.

Steve O’Dell is the co-founder and CEO of LA-based, Tenzo Tea. Tenzo Tea is on a mission to create a better world by sharing the healthiest energy on the planet and donating one year of clean water for every bag purchased. Steve dabbled in entrepreneurial endeavors while in college, and after learning about the benefits of Matcha, knew that this could be a huge opportunity. He and his co-founder went on a karate-kid style trip to Japan where they found a tea master and learned how to create the perfect blend of Matcha tea. Two years later, Tenzo Tea is in 400+ stores around the LA area, has a robust network of online and wholesale distribution, and has raised over $1M to date. We talk about how to capitalize on trends in the market, what the future of health-consciousness looks like, how to position your startup for a successful exit, and more!
As the saying goes, “a picture is worth a thousand words." When evaluating investment opportunities, Chris Hollod, a venture capitalist focused on early-stage consumer brands, takes the adage to heart. “I tell every brand: ‘I judge you within the first two seconds of looking at your Instagram page,’” he said in an interview included in this episode. “I think it’s the most important piece of the puzzle aside from the actual packaging itself.” That perspective has helped shape Hollod’s portfolio, which includes stakes in a number of lifestyle brands, including Matchabar, Dirty Lemon, Know Foods and Recess, among others. Listen to our full interview with Hollod, who spoke in depth about his investment philosophy, how he identifies bleeding edge trends and categories, and what an examination of “signal to noise ratio” can reveal about a brand’s prospects. Show notes: 1:28: Receptors, Randy's and Roscoe's -- Early into the episode, Mike pops some CBD mints to (hopefully) address a few ailments, and the hosts discuss the difference between early-stage venture capitalists and angel investors. Later, they imbibe on some non-alcoholic beer from London (it’s pretty tasty stuff) and chat about why it makes sense for successful and sometimes wealthy entrepreneurs to seek outside capital for a new company. Last, but not least, Ray expresses his love/hate relationship with donuts. 14:14: Interview: Chris Hollod, Founder/Managing Partner, Hollod Holdings -- In an interview recorded in Los Angeles, BevNET’s John Craven and Mike Schneider spoke with Hollod about his background and investment philosophy and why digital strategy is at the top of his list when evaluating brands. Steve O'Dell is the Co-founder and CEO of Tenzo Tea. Steve grew up in Rochester, New York as the youngest of five boys. At the age of 12, he met a 6’4 inch 14 year old Robbie Page. After overcoming their awkward high school years, the pair moved across America to sunny Los Angeles to play volleyball for UCLA. While at UCLA, he studied History and starting creating companies (both good and bad), but, after three years, the contemporary college route didn’t suit Steve’s overarching goals in his life, so he dropped out just half a semester shy of graduation to pursue entrepreneurship. After dropping out, he started Tenzo Tea with his business partner Robbie Page, who we have to mention is now 7’1 inch tall. Steve loves reading, writing, and learning and takes an active role to inspire entrepreneurship and actively writes about healthy living, business, and leadership on publications across the internet including Forbes. On this episode of Inspired Insider, you’ll hear from high performing athletes and business leaders, Steve O’Dell and Robbie Page. In their conversation with Jeremy, Steve and Robbie open up about how they first met, what they learned from their time playing professional volleyball, how they came up with the idea to start Tenzo Tea, challenges they’ve faced along the way, and so much more! You don’t want to miss a minute of this engaging episode featuring Steve and Robbie! Have you ever performed at the top of your field? What was that experience like? How did you get to that level of competition? For many business leaders, getting to the top is a frustrating and winding road, then there are those who make it look really easy. Steve and Robbie are accustomed to performing in high stakes situations. Both Steve and Robbie played volleyball in college at UCLA, competing at the highest levels. They’ve taken that same dedication and competition to their roles co-founding and leading, Tenzo Tea. What can you learn from Steve and Robbie’s story? Do you have a system that sets you up for success? How has your system changed and evolved over the years in your career and personal life? Coming from a sports background, Steve and Robbie had ritual and routine built into their days from an early age. Now, instead of turning all that planning and preparation to get their body in shape, they are working on getting the competitive edge over their peers. While the guys will be the first to tell you that Tenzo Tea will help you start the day off right, they also do what they can to learn from other leaders, devouring books on leadership and innovation. Did you know that fueling your body with the right ingredients is half the battle when it comes to maintaining high performance? It’s true! Too often the average person will get into a health kick and decide to start working out (which is great!) but they’ll fail to go, “All in” and change their diet. Steve and Robbie want to help men and women start the day off right by putting a clean and natural source of nutrients in the form of a hot cup of matcha green tea. At Tenzo Tea, they say that Matcha green tea is the healthiest drink on the planet, described as a fat-burner and cancer-fighter, Matcha dominates the rest of the world of tea. One of the best ways to stand out from the rest of the competition in the business world is to build a robust and enthusiastic fan base. Its true, some products lend themselves to this business practice better than others, however, many companies are leaving money on the floor by taking a passive approach to customer engagement. Tenzo Tea is taking a much more direct and aggressive approach to cultivating and encouraging their fans to stay connected. They’ve gone so far as creating specialized subscription services, starter boxes, and even an informative blog! Steve and Robbie are really doing an amazing job connecting with their customer base in a meaningful way and the market is rewarding them for it! Robbie Page is the Co-Founder of Tenzo Tea. While on the hunt for a coffee alternative that had health benefits, he and his best friend Steve O'Dell came across a clean, green, caffeine packed plant called Matcha. Realizing how much it helped them stay focused in their daily lives along with the other 20 or so health benefits, they launched Tenzo Tea with Matcha being the key ingredient. What started as solely an E-Commerce product in July of 2016 has evolved into over 160+ physical locations that continues to grow today. Born and raised in the small town of Victor, New York, Robbie was surrounded by parents who both happen to be doctors along with a brother and sister. Realizing his passion for volleyball at a young age he committed his childhood to becoming the best athlete he could be despite the kids around him stereotyping him for being unathletic and goofy because of his height. By his junior year he was fully committed to UCLA as their #1 Volleyball recruit for the 2010 season standing 7 feet tall. After finishing up school and playing professional Indoor Volleyball in the European circuit for an Italian team, he returned back to the U.S. and the lifestyle he was comfortable with in Southern California. Back in the professional beach leagues he would find himself playing volleyball during the day and working on Tenzo Tea by night to get it off the ground and running. What started as two of them in their apartment has evolved into a team of people based in Santa Monica, CA. In this episode Robbie discusses how volleyball taught him if you work hard consistently at anything you’re bound to get better, you have to be comfortable with being uncomfortable, the through of sorrow is about continuing to move forward regardless of how things are going, having an amazing team is key to growth, not reaching his full potential is what scares him the most and why feedback is the breakfast of champions. - You can follow Robbie here: Instagram: @Robbie_Page You can follow Tenzo Tea here: Instagram: @TenzoTea Website: TenzoTea.co Follow Bobbbaaaay on social media: Instagram: @Bobbbaaaay Twitter: @Bobbbaaaay Subscribe to our YouTube Channel for new interviews (and more) Follow us on Spotify Follow us on Soundcloud Subscribe to iTunes Follow us on Instagram: @PurposeintheYouth
