Mission Forward
Pursuing a North Star Through Cloudy Skies with Leonard Burton

Mission Forward

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 24, 2025 35:56

Let's begin with a middle school stage play in Detroit. The lights are dim, the demerits are high, and a boy named Leonard has just been kicked off the production. Enter Miss Liggins, a teacher with a different script. She doesn't erase the consequences—she rewrites the role. “You'll be our stage manager,” she says. And with that, a seed is planted: that someone's belief in you, especially when you don't believe in yourself, can change everything. This is how Leonard Burton's story begins. But it's hardly where it ends. This week, Carrie Fox sits down with Leonard—now President and CEO of the Center for the Study of Social Policy—to trace the arc of a life lived in service to justice, from the east side of Detroit to the deserts of Saudi Arabia, from family hardship to national leadership. It's a story that defies neat narrative structure. Because Leonard's journey isn't linear, it's layered—built on memories, mentors, and moments of moral clarity that refuse to fade.Leonard talks about the indignity of a two-tiered chemotherapy room—one for Medicaid patients, one for the privately insured. He recounts the sounds of Scud missiles in Desert Storm, and the sight of a paraplegic neighbor who gave him his first view of the world outside his block. He shares the transformative experience of sitting in a village in apartheid South Africa, watching democracy unfold not with slogans or soundbites, but with silence, patience, and consensus. And through it all, he makes the case—not with urgency, but with gravity-that that justice is not an abstraction. It is food on the table. It is health care with dignity. It is family autonomy and the freedom to imagine a better future. Now, as the leader of CSSP, Leonard is advancing a bold North Star strategy grounded in three pillars: health justice, economic justice, and family autonomy — all threaded through with racial justice. His is a call to hold fast when others are retreating, to keep the lights on when the grid is under attack.Leonard's message is clear: This is not the time to shrink. This is not the time to compromise on values in exchange for comfort. This is the time to light candles if the power fails, to widen the circle, and to remember — in the words of his mentor, Collins Ramusi — “Forward ever, backwards never.”Links & NotesLearn more about the Center for the Study of Social Policy (00:00) - Welcome to Mission Forward (03:45) - Introducing Leonard Burton (13:54) - Center for the Study of Social Policy (18:36) - The Tides of Injustice (25:02) - The Preemptive Pull-back (30:22) - Call to Action ---SPONSOR: Looking for a 401k or investment partner that aligns with your company values?  Aspire Capital Advisors helps businesses build plans for the future that reflect their values. De Clarke/Cortes Currents - There has been a flurry of media stories about the dangers of eating raw oysters lately, but Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) confirmed that there have been no problems with Cortes Island grown oysters. (And there have been no problems anywhere with cooked oysters.) Only one of the 8 emergency closures DF0 listed, in response to Cortes Currents request, is in the Discovery Islands. A DFO notice from December 23 states, “The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has received reports of illness linked to BC Aquaculture Tenure Landfile #1402974” in the Bold Island-Crescent Channel area between Quadra and Read Islands. The other 7 oyster closures pertained to 42 ‘Landfiles' in the Baynes Sound area across from Denman Island. Mo Qutob, Communications Advisor with Fisheries & Oceans Canada, emailed that all of the closures he listed were in force as of December 31, 2024. “The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has received illness reports linked to aquaculture tenures in British Columbia and has recommended emergency closures for certain aquaculture tenures within Pacific Fisheries Management Areas 13 and 14.” The Crescent Channel tenure mentioned above is in Management Area 13 (Subarea 13-12), and the Baynes Sound closures were in Management Area 14 (Subareas 14-8 and 14-15). Two of the Landfiles mentioned In DF0's December 19, 2024, closure notice (#1402293, #1413888), were also in US reports about people being infected with Norovirus after eating ‘raw oysters from British Columbia.' The associated DFO notice mentions ‘multiple reports of illness' and lists closures to 13 Landfiles in the Baynes Sound area. A second closure notice, issued the same day, lists closures to another 18 Landfiles in the Baynes Sound area. An extensive list of these and subsequent closure notices is at the bottom of this page. Qutob: “The Canadian Shellfish Sanitation Program (CSSP) is a federal food safety program jointly administered by the CFIA, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) and DFO. The goal of the program is to minimize the health risks associated with the consumption of contaminated bivalve molluscan shellfish such as mussels, oysters and clams.” “As partners in the CSSP, CFIA conducts testing for biotoxins and ECCC conducts water quality sampling. DFO's role as partner in the CSSP is to enact fishery openings and closures based on recommendations from CFIA and ECCC. Please reach out to those agencies for specific information concerning biotoxins and water quality sampling.” “DFO's mandate under the CSSP is to manage shellfish harvest (e.g., to close and open areas, patrol closures) and provide support to illness investigations.”

During the month of September, CSSP embarked on filming the pilot for our first narrative series titled “Canoe Journey”. This coming of age story centered around youth mental health and finding your identity places an emphasis on immersing yourself in culture as a preventative tool. It was a 10-day shoot and the YAI team was there on set during all of production playing various roles within. We were production assistants, talent handlers and set designers; it was truly the best experience. During this time we sat down to speak with a few of the actors. This is the first of those interviews. Sam Bob speaks on his time spent at a residential school and how it has affected his life now and the impact that experience has had upon his children. He discusses how he has learned to heal from that trauma. Sam talks about how love based behavior is key to prevent passing on trauma and also to mend relationships. Intergenerational trauma is prevalent in our people today due to colonization and Sam's wisdom can be learned and shared to start or continue on a healing path. Breaking into the acting world and all the steps leading up to it is another talking point in this episode, with his advice of: “falling into belief,” or really believing in the story you are portraying. We are grateful to Sam's dedication to healing and his craft of acting which have landed him gigs in Northern Exposure, The X Files and in scenes with Anthony Hopkins. Hope you enjoy the interview as much as we do.

THE THESIS: In a fallen world, we should not be surprised that entire business sectors are built around lies. We can treat this as horrible news, or we can give praise to God for giving us all the easiest, pass / fail that will ever exist.  THE SCRIPTURE & SCRIPTURAL RESOURCES:  Matthew 6:22-24 “If your eye is pure, there will be sunshine in your soul. But if your eye is clouded with evil thoughts and desires, you are in deep spiritual darkness. And oh, how deep that darkness can be! “You cannot serve two masters: God and money. For you will hate one and love the other, or else the other way around. Luke 16:13-15   “You cannot serve two masters at the same time. You will hate one master and love the other. Or you will be loyal to one and not care about the other. You cannot serve God and Money at the same time.”  The Pharisees were listening to all these things. They criticized Jesus because they all loved money. Jesus said to them, “You make yourselves look good in front of people. But God knows what is really in your hearts. What people think is important is worth nothing to God. 1 Timothy 6:9-12  But people who long to be rich soon begin to do all kinds of wrong things to get money, things that hurt them and make them evil-minded and finally send them to hell itself. For the love of money is the first step toward all kinds of sin. Some people have even turned away from God because of their love for it, and as a result have pierced themselves with many sorrows. O Timothy, you are God's man. Run from all these evil things, and work instead at what is right and good, learning to trust him and love others and to be patient and gentle. Fight on for God. Hold tightly to the eternal life that God has given you and that you have confessed with such a ringing confession before many witnesses. Hebrews 13:5-6  Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?” Why Can't We Serve Two Masters? Your true master is the one you love. God cannot coexist with a second master as He is the One and Only. If we have established another master in our life, such as ourselves, money, selfish ambition, etc., then it means we will end up hating God. THE NEWS & COMMENT: Michael Burry saw the mortgage business for what The Party made of it: a scam set to fall. Now, he has compared it to the Covid response.  Michael Burry of ‘Big Short' Fame Says ‘Silliness' in Markets Is Back; The investor who bet against the housing market ahead of the financial crisis has been predicting another crash for months.  The Figurehead pretends he is “forgiving loans” but he is actually--once again--forcing you to bail out Wall Street.  Studies Show Biden's Illegal Student Debt Scheme Is Welfare For The Rich We cannot be shocked by this. D.C. is a godless CIty of greed. Just look at Mitch McConnell and his corrupt wife:  Trump Is Right. Mitch McConnell And Elaine Chao Spent Decades Getting ‘Rich On China' Foremost [a company owned by Elaine Chao's Father] is technically based out of New York but largely operates out of China, where at least 70 percent of its freight, mostly industrial, is delivered. Not only are a majority of Foremost's ships built in state-owned shipyards, but some are even financed by the Chinese Communist Party. They are then used to deliver cargo outlined in contracts with the communist government, which has clearly stated goals to rapidly expand its industries to compete with the U.S. Foremost and the Chao family have benefitted from loans estimated to be between $350,000 and $1 million from the U.S. government and loans from Chinese banks known by the Trump administration as threats. Again, this is a company owned by the father-in-law of America's top congressional Republican and the father of the former transportation secretary. Not only do Chao's father and sister Angela Chao still share leadership over Foremost, but the pair also once sat on the board of an offshoot of the CSSP together. This trend of the Chao family expanding their influence in China only continued as McConnell and his wife burrowed deeper into the American political system. When Trump named Chao head of the Department of Transportation in January of 2017, her family publicly rejoiced — likely at the opportunity to further their business interests. That same month, Chao's sister Angela was named independent non-executive director of the CCP-affiliated Bank of China. McConnell still expresses some support for curbing China's ascent, but whether his concern is sincere or political is difficult to say. Not only do McConnell and Chao's family members financially benefit from doing business with communist China, but so have McConnell and Chao. The political duo may not have a formal stake in the Chao shipping empire, but they have certainly amassed wealth from the business. The biggest evidence for this came in 2008. Just one year after James Chao joined CSSC Holdings, in addition to running Foremost, McConnell received a “gift” of $5 to $25 million from his father-in-law. As Politico reported, that payment significantly bumped McConnell's net worth, which was measured at around $3.1 million in 2004, to between $9.2 million and $36.5 million in 2014. Several members of Chao's family, including Angela and James, also contributed more than $1 million to McConnell's re-election campaigns. In other words, the founder of an unofficial arm of our top adversary's navy is helping keep McConnell in U.S. leadership. According to Schweizer, these kinds of payments could have been money designed to keep a favorable relationship between McConnell and the Chao family. I lost a dear friend to suicide. Before he died, he shared with me his recollection of what a banskter did to his firm and his career. It's my opinion it ultimately lead my friend to take his life.  Jamie Dimon's $13 Billion Secret; The inside story of JPMorgan Chase's landmark mortgage settlement THE LISTENERS: Todd, I love your show! However, when I researched it and found out that it has 74 uses of the F-word, I just can't do it. That's like one every 30 seconds! For me that's a non-starter. I don't know how you can put up with that. Maybe your description of yourself raising your hand in the “VIP” meeting inspired me to speak up, but I would just say that you should give some kind of a warning when mentioning a movie like that (maybe you did?). I know it's hard to find one without something bad in it, but 74?! Why do they have to ruin so many potentially good movies? This episode will be the first of the Salmon People series where we share the voices of strong Indigenous youth who reflect on their cultural ties to salmon and vocalize why we must take action to save this crucial relative for the ecosystem and culture. Featured in this Episode are two youth from the Lummi Nation, Sadie Olsen and Jayden Phair Williams. You will also hear voices of Indigenous Leaders from the first Salmon People Project gathering held via zoom in March 2021. This Podcast shares salmon values, personal connections held with salmon, how important the salmon is to the environment and Native culture, and concludes with a call to action. We hope that after listening you will join us on a journey of giving a voice back to our sacred ancestor, the salmon.  Noutsiam friends and family, Children of the Setting Sun Productions is embarking on a journey to unite tribal nations in order to save our most sacred ancestor, the salmon. The Young and the Indigenous team will follow CSSP to collaborate with Indigenous communities who identify as the Salmon People to create a podcast series with the youth from these tribes. We plan to have a podcast with youth from each tribe who are involved which are: Lummi, Yurok, Umatilla, Shuswap, Swinomish and Yakima Nation. In each episode we hope to encourage the youth to think about their personal or cultural connection to the salmon and what that means to their community as a whole.  The larger focus is, “who are we without salmon?” We have to pose this daunting question as we address the rapid decline of this keystone species while also supporting the tribes who are fighting to keep their fish populations alive. In this Nomad Futurist podcast, Luke Norris outlines his exciting journey as a tech wunderkind who jumped into the world of IT and networking while in high school to becoming the founder of Faction, a leading multi-cloud services provider. Norris worked at several companies while still in his teens and ended up at Silicon Graphics during the height of the dotcom boom. After securing CSSP certification at age nineteen, he became the top security resource for Marsh & McLennan. After this, Norris continued to expand his scope, moving into leadership roles and running critical infrastructure at a global scale. Norris discusses the history of Faction which was founded in 2006 based on the emerging multi-tenant data center model and the exploration of the Meet-Me Room as a business opportunity.  Norris’ problem-solving philosophy: “How to eat an elephant? One bite at a time!” He shares his insights about digital transformation: “The technology and the impact that we are having on the business community and the world at large, between cancer research, autonomous driving…the impact has never been more real.” Norris believes that with cloud innovation and new software and hardware development processes, one can redefine a business cycle overnight. “Software and hardware are finally melding and you have that ability to not just be an infrastructure person but to be an innovation person.” Norris sees COVID as an incredible accelerator of progress: “You can look at almost any traditional business and completely upend it. If anything, COVID is just making that exponential. There’s so much innovation…you feel like you are moving society forward.” Luke Norris founded Faction in 2006 and has been the driving force behind the company’s expansion from a hosted private cloud provider to a leader in multi-cloud services. In May 2019, Luke’s role transitioned from CEO to Executive Chairman and Chief Strategy Officer. His focus is continuously driving Faction’s vision and innovation, emphasizing Faction’s key partnerships and technology portfolio. Luke is a three-time nominee for the Denver Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” award and has been named one of ColoradoBiz’ “25 Most Influential Young Professionals.” He has been a distinguished presenter at VMworld.

Thank you for listening to Mormon Sex Info. This episode is an archived episode and is only now becoming publicly available. Mormon Sex Info relies on contributions. To contribute, please visit: mormonsex.info Please enjoy the episode. Natasha Helfer Parker interviews Dr. Russell Stambaugh, PhD, DST, CSSP, author of The Elephant in the Hot Tub: Kink in Context blog.  They cover a variety of topics including the definition of “kink,” how cultural context has affected sexual norms throughout history, and where we stand today as far as types of alternative sexuality (i.e. different forms of BDSM, cross-dressing, non-monogamy, and more). It is interesting to note that many who would consider themselves “heteronormative” have interests that would be considered “alternative” and that the kink community has much to offer as far as being ahead of the curve on the appropriate communication and use of consent. Couples coming in with concerns around alternative sexuality, are usually facing issues where one partner finds something sexually arousing that their partner does not. How are they to reconcile these types of differences?  And how do we stay away from shame or pathology (“your’e broken”) types of approaches, which end up making worsening the situation for all involved? Great and informative podcast, whether you are attempting to negotiate some of these sexual differences in your own sexual relationship, or wanting to understand human sexuality at a more complex level. Dr. Staumbaugh is a clinical psychologist in private practice. He is a member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists, and has maintained a Diplomate in Sex Therapy since 2005. He has served in AASECT leadership since 2000, including service as a Director 2004-2009. In June, 2015, he was awarded the Distinguished Service to AASECT Award for the second time. Salin Geevarghese currently serves as Senior Fellow at the Center for the Study of Social Policy (CSSP) as well as the founding Director of the Mixed-Income Strategic Alliance and its Innovation and Action Network. The Mixed-Income Strategic Alliance is a collaboration of CSSP, the National Initiative on Mixed Income Communities at Case Western Reserve University and Urban Strategies, Inc. Before that, from April 2014 to January 2017, Salin served in a senior appointed leadership post as HUD’s Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Office of International and Philanthropic Innovation (within the Office of Policy Development and Research) during the Administration of President Barack Obama. He is a recognized expert, leader, consultant, and speaker. Salin has written widely on open records laws and transparency, public education issues, civil rights and equity issues, community and economic development, sustainable urbanization, civic innovation, and engagement efforts. More importantly to me, he is my cousin and older brother, and I am stoked that he has finally caved in and said yes to coming on the show. We talk about family, why representation matters, and of course, mental health, since May is Mental Health Awareness month. His son Sanjay also joins us for the conversation, so let’s get right to the conversation. Being a Leader, Paving the Way So what does your family say about YOU? Salin says he was always known as the “big mouth” in his family, but he never dreamed his career path would take him where it has. He was commonly described as a leader, and was the first in his family to go to law school. Seeing his parents as role models shaped his early thinking, which focused on helping those in poverty and making an impact on others. Because Salin’s mother taught elementary school in Chattanooga, Salin was able very early to realize that not everyone has the same background and experiences. He says that seeing his parents serve others were character-molding moments in his life. TWEET: I was aware very early that what I had and what others had were very different. #ChasingDreams The Question Salin was asked EVERY Day Can you imagine what it’s like to work for the President of the United States? Salin was privileged to work for HUD as his father entered the early stages of dementia. Every day his father would ask if he would see the president today. Every day Salin would answer, “Not today, Daddy.” Even though his HUD post didn’t mean day-to-day contact with President Obama, he knew he had to figure out how to get a picture of himself with the president, so he could give it to his father. Salin didn’t think it would ever happen, until 2016, when he was nominated for an award and was invited to the ceremony where he would meet President Obama. It was the culmination of a 6-year dream and the answer to the question his father asked so often. TWEET: The route into public policy, poverty, and non-profit was all “in the sauce.” #ChasingDreams The Letter that Means So Much When is a letter more than just a letter? How about when the letter is from the President of the United States? Salin was able to share briefly with President Obama the story of his immigrant parents and their story. The president wrote a quick note of thanks for him to pass along to his father, along with the picture of Salin and the president. Salin was so grateful for the president’s humble leadership that he wrote a note of thanks for the time and attention shown to his family. It wasn’t long before a letter--yes, a “Thank You” for the “Thank You”-- arrived at Salin’s house from President Obama, acknowledging the contribution made by their family. It was a small gesture that wasn’t about politics, but became a meaningful symbol of pride and honor in this Indian family. It’s just one example of what can happen when you think of others, especially in showing kindness and grace to someone suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, like Salin’s beloved father.  TWEET: The question was always, “How might I serve?” #ChasingDreams   OUTLINE OF THIS EPISODE: [2:41] Born in America [5:52] Giving back and serving the poor [9:38] How you can be influenced by seeing others give back [12:56] Leading a life of service [13:16] Getting “fired” while on vacation--only to be called to serve in the Obama administration [23:13] The rest of the story and the new purpose behind a 6-year dream [34:54] The note from President Obama and what happened next [43:22] The meaning behind the president’s kind note [46:31] The moment that no one thought would happen [47:39] The importance of embracing time [50:16] Changing your dream in light of mental illness   RESOURCES MENTIONED IN THE EPISODE: Center for the Study of Social Policy Washington Post Article - "As my father battled Alzheimer’s, I rushed to create one last memory: Meeting President Obama”   TWEETS YOU CAN USE: TWEET: President Obama acknowledged what my parents as immigrants had done and said his thoughts and prayers were with us. #ChasingDreams TWEET: Alzheimer’s robs people of a lot, but there is nothing to be ashamed of. #ChasingDreams

Rob Mackay and Garry Koehler. Good things come to those who wait, we're told; this episode will be no exception. Our own VIEW FROM DOWNUNDER correspondent (and rising Country music star in his own right) BRENDAN SMOOTHER takes the helm of the CSSP for an exclusive interview with the award-winning Australian Country duo THE BOBKATZ.THE BOBKATZ is comprised of ROB MACKAY and GARRY KOEHLER; both of whom have interesting musical histories to share as well as a wealth of fascinating tales about their journey together. They are indeed a living testament to the CSSP credo of KEEP ON WRITIN' AND KEEP ON KEEPIN' ON!So pour yourself a cold one (not a "Foster's"- I have it on good authority that it is NOT Australian for "beer") and enjoy this long-awaited and hard-fought-for interview. THEY thought they could keep us down, hold us back. snuff us out... but NO! The minions of darkness didn't prevail as we are BACK with a vengeance!!!So just WHERE have we been? Funny you should ask. We were RIGHT HERE ALL ALONG. although you (our loyal and adoring public) couldn't tell. Long story short (TOO LATE)? Technical issues (GREMLINS, say I) were preventing new episodes from showing up on the iTunes feed whilst showing a mere 10 previous episodes as being available for listening and/or downloading. What REALLY matters is that WE ARE BACK and here to stay (albeit after a considerable financial investment as was necessary to get everything fixed) just in time to celebrate our 3rRD ANNIVERSARY! That's right, folks: THE COMMERCIAL SUICIDE SONGWRITING PODCAST first posted on October 31st 2012. How appropriate...Less a "true" episode and more of an explanation/ rap session between me, Randy and YOU; this will stand as EPISODE 47. There are, naturally a few "goodies" thrown in for your enjoyment (this being Halloween and all) such as an amazing opening sequence as provided by our CANADA, EH? Correspondent, WALTER SCATTOLON and an airing of the first REMPIS-FINCHUM original song, "TRAIN" to close things out. Solid!Lastly, I just want to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to each and every listener out there who has stood by us through all of our trials and tribulations over the past 3 years. This show is for and all about YOU and your journey as a songwriter... and we couldn't have come as far as we have in OUR similar journey without your support.Sincerely,    "NASHVILLE" STEVE REMPIS TRAIN on Reverbnation John Carroll Music Chris Long Music John Condrone Website 95.5 SON COUNTRY HLE RADIO Tiny House Nation Season 3 Episode 5 POPULAR CREEPS LIVE at Drena's Sept 7, 2008 VIDEO

Steve and Randy doing some last-minute remodeling to Steve's new home Yes, yet another crazy-long delay in getting this episode out. We've actually had this one "in the can" for a month... just couldn't get it posted due to multiple issues including the loss of yet another laptop. Guess it's time to invest in a "good" one for once. Of course, we can't actually AFFORD a good one, so if any of our more "well-heeled" and/or particularly altruistic listeners wants to contribute either the funds to purchase a new laptop or has one to donate; please contact us ASAP!So onward to Episode 45 where the BIG LITTLE NEWS is that "Nashville" Steve Rempis has relocated into a "tiny" house and will be featured on the FYI Network television show, TINY HOUSE NATION sometime in May. If you've ever had a hankering to see Steve in action (and who hasn't?), be sure to tune in. Additionally, the episode will feature snippets of Steve's original songs; including two which were co-written by CSSP co-host RANY FINCHUM who also makes an appearance in the show. The episode will end with Steve performing his newly-written TINY HOUSE NATION THEME, which is actually being considered (fingers crossed) for use in future episodes and promotional spots for the show. MAILBOX MONEY for the CSSP host(s)? A genuine possibility!!!As well as all the "breaking news" (albeit over a month old) you'll hear:STEVE AND RANDY giving the mother of all shout-outs to our amazing listeners who contributed to the first-ever ALL Y'ALL episode in which our most enterprising fans took the helm of the STARSHIP CSSP and rocketed into podcast greatnessRANDY taking us UNDER THE MICROSCOPE to discuss the thought-provoking Tim McGraw hit, LIVE LIKE YOU WERE DYINGSTEVE discussing the songwriting genius of RODNEY CROWELL in the LEGENDARY SONGWRITER SALUTERANDY waxes both poetic and pathetic... er, PROPHETIC about having briefly "lost the faith" in his abilities in his RANDY'S READIN' WRITIN' and 'RYTHMATIC segmentSTEVE AND RANDY discussing the particulars and ramifications of a recent and highly-pulicized plagiarism case that could affect songwriters everywhereAnd of course all the good-natured banter and frivolity you've come to know and expect from Nashville's two most dysfunctional songwriter-podcasters!Enjoy! Yep, after a comedy of errors concerning the production of the April 1st show; the CSSP is back (as promised). For the first time, co-host extraordinaire Randy Finchum will be "flying solo" as he interviews Nashville transplant singer-songwriter ADAM JAMES; who will also be playing a song or two LIVE as well as including an exclusive preview of his new single "MISS AMERICA" (co-written by Randy Finchum himself) from his just-released EP of the same name.Adam is a uniquely talented singer and songwriter; even in a town known for the high-level of skill and musicianship that Nashville has a (much deserved) reputation for. He's also a real character and a joy to be around and work with, which should be obvious from the first few minutes of this interview. As an added bonus, we'll be closing the show with a recording of Adam's song "FIRECRACKERS" from the 2009 album by the same name.Be listening in two weeks when Steve and Randy will both be onboard once again, and (among other things) satisfying many listeners' requests that we dissect a song that we co-wrote together to illustrate the process for you. And there will (of course) be much more as well!
