Just as Israel lacked belief (faith) in God delivering through Moses, Judah, Israel and all of God's people that where taken to Babylon just as we do today, know it is wrong to bow down to idols or worship any other god, BUT our GOD WHICH IS THE ONLY GOD. We have to drawn the line somewhere and fear Him only that can destroy the soul, mind and body in hell.

Ever wondered why some people are drawn to true crime -- like, really drawn to it? We're not just talking about casual fans, but those who develop obsessions with accused or convicted killers, showering them with letters, attention, and even desire. This phenomenon, sometimes linked to a condition called hybristophilia, goes beyond simple curiosity. It raises unsettling questions about our fascination with crime, the blurred lines between notoriety and fame, and the disturbing allure of darkness. This exploration goes beyond psychology, examining the social factors that contribute to this phenomenon, like the internet's power to amplify these obsessions and the rise of true crime as a form of entertainment. By examining high-profile cases like Ted Bundy and Bryan Kohberger, we'll unpack the motivations behind this disturbing trend and its implications for our justice system and our understanding of morality. In this episode, Nicole Murphy explores the concept of oversharing in content creation. She discusses the subjective nature of oversharing and how sharing personal stories can help alleviate toxic shame in others. Nicole reflects on the importance of shame as a spiritual pain receptor and the confusion caused by societal programming. She emphasizes the need to process shame and listen to its messaging. Nicole also delves into the power of vulnerability and authenticity in building deeper connections and dismantling idolization patterns. Have you ever considered the power in your hands—the instruments that allow you to touch, feel, and shape the world? In this episode, we explore our Yadayim, these remarkable tools that command a presence in both the mundane and the sacred. We weave through the narrative of Parshas Kedoshim, from the Exodus and the receiving of the Torah to the laws that call upon us to live with holiness, respect our parents, and keep the Shabbos. As we navigate these ancient texts, I share insights on the importance of where we choose to focus our efforts and the dangers of misdirected adoration. Listen closely, and you may rediscover the sanctity every day, understanding how your actions can elevate your spirit and the collective soul of humanity. The modern age has birthed its pantheon, where the secular can sometimes overshadow the holy and where the temporary is often mistaken for the eternal. In this discussion, we confront the 'koach of asaom'—the power to assign divinity to the trivial, like turning a football game into a high holiday or an athlete into a priestly figure. As we dissect the allure of these false idols, we recognize the importance of holding to our spiritual foundations. We reflect on the call from Parshas Kedoshim to lead a life rich in meaning and connection with the divine. Join me as we contemplate reorganizing our spiritual priorities, resisting the modern-day molten gods, and embracing a life of genuine, eternal significance.Send us a Text Message.Support the Show.------------------Check out our other Torah Podcasts and content! We also discuss the latent dangers of blind faith and the importance of not letting someone else's success overshadow our self-worth. Here's a reality check for you - growth and validation should be self-sought, not borrowed. So, let's get real, let's get personal, and most importantly, let's get listening! In this episode, we discuss the following:1. Idolization and worship in network marketing.2. Idolization… raise your hand if you fall into this! This week Courtney & Meghan break down the act of idolizing, how great we all are at it as a society, and why it can so easily become addicting to be the “biggest fan out there.” The question is, why aren't we fighting to know everything there possibly is to know about Jesus and being His biggest fan? So this topic isn't discussed as frequently as some of our previous topics but because its so normalized, Skxnni and I had to get into it. Admiring people and finding inspiration in people/celebrities is okay, idolizing is not. So be yourself baby! Idolization is killing your creativity!
This morning I want to talk to you about self-love. Believers have been tricked into believing self-love is selfish and nothing can be further from the truth. The truth is THE WORLD has warped every perception of the definition of love. We think that to love God just simply means to believe he exists and be nice to others. We think loving our family and others means we have to give of ourselves til we are drained physically, emotionally, and financially. And finally, we believe anyone bold enough to proclaim self-love only loves themselves.www.BibleDeliverance.orgwww.BibleDeliverance.org
This weeks episode touches upon the difference between idolization and inspiration. God tells us that idols are as empty as the wind and we must constantly turn our heart to him. It seems pretty simple and obvious. But, did you know that you could idolize your career? You could even be idolizing your relationship? The line is so thin and sneaky that you don't even see it coming. On this episode, I share the top 3 things we tend to idolize rather than God. Our Careers: when we idolize our careers we become workaholics. I share how our identity becomes wrapping up in how much we work. Our Relationships: when we place pressure on our partners to be our everything. I share how our partners end up becoming our source for joy. Entertainment: when things that are supposed to inspire you become your standard, instead of looking to God. I share how even things like famous artists, creators, etc become the standards for how we should live our lives. Listen to the many ways we tend to worship the gift, rather than the gift giver. P.S. If this episode resonated with you and you're ready to free yourselves of any idols and figure out who God is calling you to be, then let's work together. Book a sales call here so that we can do this work together. I'm so excited to meet you! The perception vs reality of those who are in Hollywood, the music industry and celebrities in general is not what you think. Denae and I go into who they worship and the symbolism that they use to show us and fellow celebs that they are "in" the club. They don't get to where they are for free. We will teach you how to watch for the signs and symbolism that will bring all of this to light.
We match up a lot of influences of the culture that have mass impacts. “Goofy of the week Pete” & Sincerely Dri for inspiration.

We explore the extreme realities of idealization and how it has changed and manifested differently though the years. Enjoy (and goodbye for now)!
TW: drug use, overdosing and suicide Has your favorite celebrity ever done something that shocked you? Like finding out Harry Styles does juice cleanses, or that Taylor Swift seemingly dyed her hair the colors of the bisexual flag for a music video. Maybe your fave did something that doesn't sit right with you on a moral level, like Justin Bieber having dreads or Demi Lovato glorifying substance abuse. These shocks or disappointments happen when a celebrity fails to meet our expectations of them. In this episode we explore the line between expectations and reality – between projected morals and real actions – and when it's warranted to hold your idol accountable. Because at the end of the day accountability is more important than canceling so that we can all learn and grow from our mistakes. This episode is full of practical advice and steps to get your finances on track, start thinking about life after graduation, and recognize where your heart lies on the issue of money. Mark 4:38-40 38Jesus was inside the boat, sleeping with his head on a pillow. The followers went and woke him. They said, “Teacher, don’t you care about us? We are going to drown!” 39 Jesus stood up and gave a command to the wind and the water. He said, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind stopped, and the lake became calm. 40 He said to his followers, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” Jesus said to the crowds: “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.” ~ Mt 11:28 GOD RESTED: On the seventh day God completed the work he had been doing; he rested on the seventh day from all the work he had undertaken. God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work he had done in creation” (Gn. 2:2-3). CONCEPT: many of us have made work a false deity. Idolization of Work - Why is sleep deprivation such an issue in our modern epoch? MARY MARTHA We don’t know how to be Marys, because we are so accustomed to being Marthas. “It is vain for you to rise early and put off your rest at night, to eat bread earned by hard toil— all this God gives to his beloved in sleep” (Ps. 127:2). Resting is an act of trust. Relaxing or taking a break means that we don’t have to control everything, because we are “worth more than many sparrows” (see Mt. 6:26) Resting reminds us to take time out of our hurried lives and slow down.

Brian Keating is a professor of physics at the University of California, San Diego. He has lectured on six of the seven continents, including Antarctica. He is an expert in the study of the universe's oldest light, the cosmic microwave background (CMB), which he uses to investigate the origin and evolution of the universe. Keating is a pioneer in the search for the earliest physical evidence of the inflationary epoch, the theorized period of expansion of space in the early universe directly after the Big Bang. Physicists predict that this evidence will reveal itself as a particular pattern in the way CMB light is polarized; this pattern is referred to as a B-mode pattern, and Keating designed the first experiment dedicated to detecting it (BICEP). To idolize someone is to admire or revere someone excessively. Obviously “excessive” is a matter of perception. It is subjective. One person would feel that putting pictures of someone on your wall (like nearly every teenager does with their favorite celebrity) is excessive admiration. One might feel like that is a perfectly healthy form of appreciation. To admire something and to deeply respect something and to appreciate something is healthy. But there are some key ways that idolization can and does turn negative.
Story tellers drive the culture and Christians must remember that we have the best story to tell. Megan Almon is a speaker with Life Training Institute and a Christian Research Journal contributor who authored the recent cover article Seeing Red: The Handmaid's Tale, Human Dignity and Hope, addressing the popular, yet controversial, Hulu television series The Handmaid's Tale, an adaptation of Margaret Atwood's 1985 dystopian novel by the same name. Almon joins Hank to discuss the importance of cultural apologetics, pro-life apologetics and the consequences of secular feminism, abortion and sexual freedom in both The Handmaid's Tale and our world today. Topics discussed include: Michelle Wolf's salute to abortion- “God bless abortion, God bless America” (4:25); Almon's passion for pro-life apologetics (7:05); is the term “pro-life” propaganda? (8:40); what would make abortion ok? (9:50); how abortion has shifted from being a scientific debate to a philosophical debate (11:10); the importance of Christians being able to communicate the pro-life position articulately and convincingly because story tellers drive the culture (14:05); examining worldviews and the importance of cultural apologetics (16:25); the narrative presented in The Handmaid's Tale that women will lose all of the progress gained through the suffrage movement if they lose access to abortion and “reproductive freedom” (20:55); a women's worth being equated to her ability to earn wages (23:45); the rise of infertility and changing views of motherhood (26:05); surrogacy and the commodification of children (29:30); the destructive consequences of the sexual revolution and idolization of sexual freedom (35:50); defining men and women out of existence and the effect on women's rights (38:30); the criticality of becoming biblically literate to counter the twisting of scripture, or “scriptorture” (40:30); embracing the doctrine of unity through unification around the essentials of the Christian faith in the face of the unnecessary fragmentation within Christianity (42:50); endowed with dignity by virtue of being created in the Imago Dei (46:30); the false narrative that the Bible supports an oppressive patriarchal society versus the reality that the Bible actually elevated the status of women (47:45); contrasting the way that Jesus and Muhammed treated women (53:00); Planned Parenthood's desire to abolish the terms pro-choice and pro-life (54:30); The Handmaid's Tale explained (55:45); the need for Christians to practice cultural apologetics and discernment (58:05); becoming so familiar with the truth that when a counterfeit looms on the horizon you know it immediately (1:00:50); the functional value of secular feminism, abortion on demand and sexual freedom (1:02:30); Christian involvement in the culture wars and examples of hope (1:04:15); raising Christian children (1:08:05).

Today we’re talking about the idolization of marriage and social media women ministers. I want to talk about this because not only is this something that I have been guilty of in the past, but it is something that I feel is the horrible new norm of young adult Christianity and it’s plaguing what Christianity really is.
