Das Yakuza-Spiel Like A Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name sollte ursprünglich nur ein Prequel-DLC zum bald erscheinen Infinite Wealth werden, wird nun aber als Standalone-Spin-Off verkauft. Oha, das klingt ja erst einmal verdächtig! Vor der Veröffentlichung hat Studioproduzent Masayoshi Yokoyama sogar angekündigt, dass die Hauptkampagne von Like A Dragon Gaiden (Originaltitel) kürzer als üblich ausfallen würde. Umso überraschter waren Pumkin und Micha, dass sie doch etwa 30 Stunden mit dem Spiel verbracht haben. In den Interviews haben die Devs ihr eigenes Spiel unter Wert verkauft, und Fans der Reihe bekommen nun mehr als gedacht. Bloß wer neu mit der Serie einsteigen möchte, wird hier nicht glücklich werden. Und yo ... damit haben wir den Kern der Story der Cotton-Spiele umrissen.Bei der Serie handelt es sich um Cute'em Ups, also Shooter, die statt Raumschiffen und Lasern auf süße Charaktere und andere Niedlichkeiten setzen. Das ist auch bei dem Remake der beiden Layers of Fear-Spiele der Fall, dass wir vor einigen Tagen für euch besprochen haben. Ihr habt es gespielt und kratzt euch am Kopf? Pumkin und Micha geben euch einen möglichen Interpretationsansatz für alle drei Handlungsstränge.TRIGGERWARNUNG:Thematisch geht es in dem Spiel um eine Reise in das tiefe Unterbewusstsein, wo innere Dämonen lauern und schwere Themen wie Depression, Missbrauch oder Tod angesprochen werden. Niemand hätte ahnen können, dass die P.T.-Demo für Silent Hills damals einen so großen Einfluss auf Horrorspiele haben würde. Viele Entwickler_innen waren nachhaltig so beeindruckt, dass sie viele Aspekte in abgewandelter Form in ihre eigenen Projekte haben einfließen lassen. Das bedeutet: Kämpfe wurden auf ein Minimum reduziert, während man sich durch surreale Räume bewegt, die eher einer Reise durch ein Geisterhaus oder sogar durch das Unterbewusstsein gleichen. Trotzdem fußt es noch irgendwie in der Realität und der Alptraum beginnt an einem vertrautem Ort: dem eigenen vier Wänden.Der bekannteste Spross dieser einst neuartigen Horrorwelle ist Layers of Fear von Bloober Team, dass nun eine interessante Neuauflage erhalten hat: Der erste und der zweite Teil der Serie wurde zu einem Paket zusammengefasst und mit einer zusätzlichen, neuen Rahmenhandlung versehen. Ebenso hat man beide Spiele inhaltlich und technisch überarbeitet. Welcher Begriff trifft hier zu? Remake? Re-Imagening? Was auch immer: Besonders beim ersten Teil sind die Änderungen so eingreifend, dass gegenüber dem Original ein neues Spielerlebnis entsteht.Pumkin und Micha haben die neue Version gespielt und sich sehr über die Neuauflage gefreut. Längst schon hat er sein süß-sauer eingelegtes Dasein in staubigen Einmachgläsern hinter sich gelassen. In Amerika gilt der "Biggest Pumpkin", der dickste Kürbis als ganz heißer Feger. Die Römer nutzten den "Corbis" einst als Korb und in Japan gilt er sogar als Potenzmittel. Der Kürbis ist ein Multitalent.
