A former soldier just set off an incendiary device and fired an airsoft rifle right outside 26 Federal Plaza — the building that houses ICE and immigration courts. This wasn't random. Andrew Arrabaca, a 43-year-old Army veteran and National Guardsman, showed up armed with axes, a machete, knives, fireworks, and a cart reading “ICE off our streets.” He poured flammable liquid, lit the blaze, fired pellets at the building, and told investigators he didn't care if he killed people. The FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force is investigating it as a potential terror attack. Four people were hurt. Security tackled him. This is where anti-ICE extremism leads when it moves beyond protests. Americans who've watched open borders, sanctuary cities, and nonstop attacks on ICE have seen this radicalization coming — and now it's here. The House recently passed a bill that would make daylight saving time permanent -- though it's unclear if it'll pass the Senate. Listeners call in to share whether they are in favor of the change, which would mean no more changing clocks. Photo: This illustration photo shows a clock in the background of a smartphone showing the time after daylight saving time was implemented in Los Angeles, California, on March 15, 2022. The US Senate advanced a bill on March 15 that would bring an end to the twice-yearly changing of clocks, in favor of a "new, permanent standard time" that would mean brighter winter evenings. The news got so absurd this week that we're doing a light episode, and it's still somehow about a captured government.Robin breaks down the domestic news stories you can't believe are real: the FDA apologized to Taylor Farms, a million-dollar MAGA donor, in the middle of a cyclospora outbreak that has sickened 7,000 Americans with explosive diarrhea tied to Taco Bell lettuce, while RFK Jr. ignores Jon Ossoff's letter about the gutted CDC surveillance program that should have caught it.Also this episode: Andrew and Tristan Tate arrested by US Marshals in Miami, facing 59 UK rape and human trafficking charges and doing their perp walk in tan jail jumpsuits. Trump's Iran war hits month five of a promised six weeks, with 17 American service members dead, as Rep. Carlos Gimenez calls it "the nature of warfare." Plus Trump crashing Spain's World Cup trophy celebration, the Qatari Air Force One getting "maxed out" over security problems, Kash Patel planning an FBI director trip to Moscow hosted by the FSB, 50 percent tariffs on Canadian hockey sticks, Pete Hegseth's Pentagon plan to hide unclassified records from FOIA, Megyn Kelly's 12-minute Michelle Obama rant, the racist MAGA meltdown over Lupita Nyong'o and Elliot Page in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey (which just posted the biggest opening of 2026 anyway), John Fetterman's Israel red line, Bill Maher saying yes to JD Vance, and Lindsey Graham's Senate seat passing to his sister Darline Graham Nordone like a family heirloom.Political commentary with receipts, three times a week. Sharon McMahon, America's government teacher, author of the number one New York Times bestseller The Small and the Mighty, and one of the most effective science communicators working right now, just on the government side joins us today. She makes the case for what types of people should run for office. The bulk of our conversation is about something I see constantly in healthcare comments: learned helplessness, the feeling that the system is too broken and too big and too entrenched to ever get better. Sharon's reframe is the one I needed to hear, this is not a volcano, it's a human-constructed system, and the abolitionists and the suffragists and the civil rights organizers all felt exactly as hopeless as we do, and they kept working anyway. We get into the Overton window, the range of what's currently politically possible, and why universal healthcare isn't in it federally right now, but state-by-state Medicaid expansion absolutely is, and why states function as "democracy laboratories" that can shift the national window over time. Sharon walks me through how to actually get a meeting with your representative, why joining your state medical society or specialty organization matters more than being one annoyed person on the internet, and how Emily Calandrelli got a federal law passed protecting nursing mothers at airport security just by having a big platform and a specific senator. We also cover the filibuster, the Electoral College (winner-take-all was never in the Constitution), the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, gerrymandering's embarrassing etymological origin, and Great Lakes shipping facts that Sharon would absolutely use to fill 24 hours on the Senate floor. My government teacher was a football coach. I am now remediated. Takeaways: Learned helplessness is the biggest obstacle to healthcare reform. The Overton window explains why federal universal healthcare feels impossible right now, but state-level progress doesn't . The most effective way to get a meeting with your representative is to call their district office, not their DC office. Joining a professional advocacy organization multiplies your impact dramatically. The filibuster is a Senate-only procedural rule that started as an accident. — Want more Sharon McMahon? @sharonsaysso http://www.thepreamble.com http://www.sharonmcmahon.com To Get Tickets to Wife & Death: You can visit Glaucomflecken.com/live We want to hear YOUR stories (and medical puns)! John talks about Trump attended the World Cup Final in New Jersey, presenting the trophy to the champions and inserting himself repeatedly into all of their celebrations. They, of course, photoshopped him out of most of the pics. Joining him is political strategist Tim Fullerton, who discusses the ongoing Senate race in Maine and the need for Democrats to respect the voices of local voters. They explore the challenges facing Susan Collins and the grassroots energy behind candidate Troy Jackson. Next, he welcomes political influencer Brian Tyler Cohen, who discusses his new book, "The Day After: How to Wield Power in a Post-Trump World." Brian emphasizes the importance of Democrats not just winning elections but effectively governing and delivering on promises. They explore the necessity of embracing economic populism and the challenges faced by the Democratic Party in a landscape dominated by fear and misinformation. Then finally, John chats with constitutional scholar Professor Corey Brettschneider, who shares insights on the implications of Trump's recent speeches and actions, the importance of local control in elections, and the ongoing threats to democratic norms. They delve into the complexities of the Supreme Court's role in current politics, the potential for court reform, and the ethical concerns surrounding Trump's financial dealings.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche met with several Jeffrey Epstein survivors at the Justice Department as his confirmation vote remained uncertain in the Senate. Afterward, Annie Farmer said the meeting strengthened her belief that senators should reject his nomination, describing Blanche as abrasive, condescending and deliberately noncommittal. Farmer said Blanche would not promise to investigate why the FBI ignored her sister Maria Farmer's 1996 complaint, believed to be the first known federal report accusing Epstein of sexually exploiting minors. She also accused Blanche of refusing to accept responsibility for failures under his leadership, withholding documents related to charging decisions and providing an unsatisfactory explanation for his previous meeting with Ghislaine Maxwell.Blanche characterized the meeting as productive and said he encouraged survivors to provide any information that could support new prosecutions, although he acknowledged that they did not present new evidence during the discussion. The meeting occurred after Republican Sen. Thom Tillis said he would not support moving Blanche's nomination out of the Senate Judiciary Committee until Blanche personally met with Epstein's victims. Survivor Dani Bensky had testified that Blanche repeatedly failed to respond to her requests for a meeting, while Blanche initially gave conflicting answers about whether he could meet directly with represented survivors. Tillis said he was trying to support the nomination, but made clear that Blanche's treatment of the survivors would be an important factor in securing his vote.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Epstein survivor says acting AG Blanche was 'abrasive, condescending' during meeting - ABC News
