No bathrooms, no food and no performers, just mud at the yearly Burning Man festival in the desert No bathrooms, no performers, no bathrooms, no food, lots of mud, no bathrooms. I'm talking about the Burning Man thing that happens in the desert every year. In normal years, people at the festival have to contend with sweltering temperatures and dust storms. But this year, because of climate change, there was mud galore and many people tried to embrace the mud, even though they were getting flooded by it, by throwing some parties inside a recreational vehicle that perhaps wasn't mudded out. They were playing games, getting to know other people, and some celebrities even attended, like Chris Rock, Cindy Crawford and Diplo. And apparently they had to hitchhike out of the desert location. Not sure who they caught a ride with, since the traffic jam was eight hours long just to get to the two lane highway which takes you really out of there. All of this begs the question, why are you out in the desert with 70,000 people and you don't even get dinner and a show? Beyoncé's Star-Studded Birthday Bash: Diana Ross, Kendrick Lamar and A-List Celebs Celebrate at SoFi Stadium Finale Well, Beyoncé put on a show. She pulled out all the stops for her special birthday occasion and her third and final concert at SoFi Stadium here in Los Angeles. She's been turning it up every night, all over the weekend. At the show, Diana Ross led the crowd in a happy birthday sing-along. That was, of course, for Beyoncé's birthday, which was on September 4. Kendrick Lamar, who joined Beyoncé on stage on the final date of her Lemonade tour back in 2016, actually came out about two hours into the show to perform "America Has a Problem." It was a heck of a weekend here at SoFi Stadium. In the house for the show were Adele, Lizzo, Zendaya, Justin and Hailey Bieber, Katie Perry, Brandi. Oh, and by the way, I think Chris Rock must have made it back, 'cause somebody saw him there too. Kate Hudson, Kim and Chloe Kardashian, along with Kylie Jenner, were also in attendance for Beyoncé's big, big night. She is doing so well. She probably won't have to work in another 10 years 'cause her daughter, Blue Ivy, is out there on stage with her every night. I'm counting on that girl. Diddy Returns Bad Boy Publishing Rights to Artists: A Multi-Million Dollar Labor Day Gesture In what many are considering a 'hmm' moment and apparently themed for Labor Day, Bad Boy Records founder Sean "Diddy" Combs has decided to reassign his Bad Boy Publishing rights back to all of the Bad Boy artists and writers who helped build the company into a powerhouse it is today. Artists in question include the Notorious B.I.G.'s estate, Faith Evans, Mase, Lox, 112 and many more unspecified creators. Details are not available at the moment about all the assets, but everyone knows they're worth hundreds of millions of dollars. And it has increased dramatically in recent years as the artists are really getting their music out there. Now, the source notes that Combs has received multiple million dollar offers for the rights to Bad Boy Publishing, but instead has decided to reassign the rights to the songwriters. There are some people who are wondering why is he doing this? Maybe he just found God. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Ravi and guest host Liz Wolfe start by unpacking the New York Times' recent editorial stating “America Has a Free Speech Problem.” They discuss what took the paper so long to say so and the countless examples that prove them right. Citigroup says it will pay travel costs for Texas-based employees to get out-of-state abortions. We'll explain how that fight fits into the national debate around abortion. Eric Adams is meeting fresh resistance from the progressive left in New York. We'll talk Ravi's favorite mayor. The subtitle for this episode is “America Has the World’s Most Rightwing Healthcare System,” and is about where America’s singular(ly bad) healthcare system comes from, why it hasn’t changed, the unexplored role doctors play in that change, and why people are so skeptical of the American medical establishment. Also, Afghanistan, the Olympics, CoVid’s resurgence, and… Read More »

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó defends the country's new law that bans information which "promotes" homosexuality and gender change being used in schools. The government claims it is doing to so protect children, though critics believe that prohibiting access to such information stigmatizes LGBTQ people. From the Pilgrims' arrival at Plymouth Rock to the rise of the pandemic “quarantini,” alcohol has been a foundation of American society and culture. The Atlantic's Kate Julian explores how this tool for cohesion and cooperation eventually became a means of coping, and what history can teach us about improving our drinking habits. This conversation originally ran on the podcast Today, Explained, hosted by Sean Rameswaram. Further reading: America Has a Drinking Problem Be part of The Experiment. Is drinking heavily an American phenomenon? No. Is drinking alone an American phenomenon? Perhaps. Morgan and Eddie discuss The Atlantic article titled "America Has a Drinking Problem", an essay that walks us through the historical use of alcohol as a socialization tool. They also discuss the 2020 Academy Award-nominated Danish film "Another Round", a movie with a fascinating premise where four middle-aged friends test out a Norwegian philosopher's theory that mankind was born with a BAC that is too low. Here are the links to the sources we discuss: The Atlantic - America Has a Drinking Problem Another Round - Trailer
What You Need to Know is the good side of the pandemic. Despite the rapid acceleration of the “cult” of science and Dr. Fauci, Americans are questioning and pushing back against the Narrative Machine. Despite all the knowledge of the world at our fingertips, in the last three decades we have ceded control of our safety and health to outside sources like the government. The pandemic has brought people finally to the brink of distrusting the authority of the federal government. This idea of challenging the authority that's crept into our lives is the best thing from this last year! From election transparency to healthcare, people aren't just buying the narrative they're told. Hans von Spakovsky, Election Law Reform Initiative and Senior Legal Fellow at the Heritage Foundation, describes where we are right now with states' election reform efforts. Many states are on the move trying to fix vulnerabilities in the system. Also, read his testimony given before the Alaska Senate State Affairs Committee on How States Can Improve the Integrity of Elections. Roger Stone discusses the civil suit filed against him by the Biden Administration, demanding he pay hundreds of thousands of dollars. Simply put: the Deep State of the federal government is harassing a U.S. citizen. Also, we talk about the four things we need to do to take back this country! Find out about The Roger Stone Legal Defense Fund and all that they are doing. Wrap Up: The Leftist agenda pushes feminism into supporting things that hurt women. Lots of people don't recognize it, even though Phyllis Schlafly did. Read this article (from a not-so-conservative source) speaking truth: America Has a Boy Crisis. So many questions. Were the pollsters all wrong? Again? How? Do we just not understand America? Does America not understand America?Has the media bias against Trump there eclipsed all rational thought around his actual support and the breadth of his base?60 million Americans voted for Trump last time round, this time that number was even higher. Yes more people turned out to vote, but he still has 60-plus million Americans supporting him.. and that's after 4 years of his presidency, that's not even a punt on a newcomer, that's real support. What a mess though this whole thing is. I feel for Americans, what an anxious and stressful time they've had, and continue to have. And this could go on for weeks yet. A president claiming victory before the votes are in, accusing the process of being rigged... calling it a fraud... meanwhile Biden also claiming he's on track to victory. Both claiming swing states that haven't even finished counting yet.Trump off to the Supreme Court... it just doesn't feel democratic does it?It makes you grateful for the integrity of the system we have - the simplicity of it.American elections are always more complex anyway and even voting is an exercise in patience and willpower... which is historically one of the reasons so few American's do.But not this time round. They voted in their droves... and it's some of those early votes that now have a question mark hanging over them - will they all get counted or not?A listener from Pennsylvania said on this station earlier this morning that he had not voted in 30 years, he was neither Democrat nor Republican, and he didn't particularly like Joe Biden, but that he just had to vote this time round... against Trump. He said he had to cast a vote for the only adult in the room, and now he sits on tenterhooks.Imagine how stressful and frustrating that must be.But again we've seen politically the importance of Covid management.America’s handling of Covid's been a mess, Trump’s dismissal of it is clearly coming home to roost. There'll be voters who may feel threatened by a President who wanted to ignore Covid and hope it went away. Interestingly in one of the key states, Arizona, which looks to have flipped to Biden, exit polling there showed Covid loomed large.49 percent of Arizona voters thought Covid was not under control. But it's a bitter pill this morning for Democrats to swallow, that in the so-called ‘election of their lifetime’ where they wanted to see sweeping rejection of Trump, and a landslide for Biden, it’s way tighter than many predicted. Morally, that'll be wounding for them.So the next few hours and days will be an anxious time for all Americans, as they wait to see whether their country deepens its divides, or looks to heal them.
