SCHRIJF JE IN VOOR DE NIEUWSBRIEF BLIJF OP DE HOOGTE VAN ALLE HR-ACTUA ABONNEER JE OP HET #ZIGZAGHR BOOKAZINE It's a great time to be in HR!Opgenomen bij The Hub - Mechelen - met dank aan The Tipping Point

In this powerful and deeply personal interview, we sit down with Lee Copus, known as Kent Carnivore, a passionate advocate for the carnivore diet. Lee's journey is nothing short of remarkable. After a decade-long battle with ulcerative colitis, which tragically culminated in the removal of his colon, he discovered the transformative power of a meat-based lifestyle. Lee's story is a stark illustration of how conventional medical advice can sometimes fail those who need it most. Diagnosed in 2012, he spent years diligently following the recommendations of medical professionals, including increasing fiber intake and adopting a plant-based diet. But instead of improvement, his condition worsened. He was told to eat more plants, and more fiber, and it just made things worse. Frustrated and desperate, Lee decided to take a radical approach, completely reversing the conventional dietary recommendations. He eliminated all fiber and embraced a 100% carnivore diet. The results were astounding. Lee experienced a dramatic improvement in his health, proving that sometimes, the most unconventional paths lead to the most profound healing. Join us as Lee shares his raw and honest story, detailing the failures of the medical establishment, the challenges of navigating chronic illness, and the life-changing impact of the carnivore diet. This interview is a must-watch for anyone struggling with autoimmune disease, seeking alternative health solutions, or simply curious about the power of food as medicine. He now shares his remarkable journey of healing and his insights into the limitations of conventional dietary advice on his popular YouTube channel and through appearances on various podcasts. Send us a Text Message.Lee is sometimes known as "the poop guy" because of his successful experience with the carnivore diet. He struggled with depression and was eventually diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2012. Despite taking medications and following recommended dietary advice, his condition worsened, and he ended up having surgery to remove his colon in 2014. The surgery left him feeling depressed and isolated. After hearing about the benefits of the carnivore diet from Michaela Peterson, Lee decided to give it a try. Lee shares his experience dealing with Crohn's disease for over a decade. He talks about the initial misdiagnosis and how he was put on multiple medications that only suppressed his symptoms. He also talks about the lack of guidance or advice given by doctors on diet and lifestyle. He credits his recovery to the carnivore diet which he has been following for the past two years. He also talks about his recent surgery and how his recovery was much faster due to his strict diet. He explains how his health deteriorated while he was on a plant-based diet and how he discovered the benefits of a meat-based, carnivorous lifestyle. He also shares how he can now see undigested plant materials in his stool and how they caused him discomfort and health issues. Some people may raise concerns about feeding their kids an all-carnivore diet, but there is evidence that humans have been eating predominantly animal protein for thousands of years and that this is a healthy and nutrient-dense way to eat. Others may feel jealous that they didn't discover this lifestyle earlier in their own lives and wish they could have fed their children this way from the start. It's important to give children the choice and educate them about real nutrition.Thank you so much for listening to my podcast. I hope you enjoyed it. Your support means the absolute world to me. By using qualitative research from a number of related projects, the book examines the roles, functions and responsibilities of councillors and the expectations placed upon them by citizens, communities and government. It also examines the impact council membership has on other facets of the councillor's life. The book examines how councillors develop strategies to overcome the constraints and restrictions on their office so as to be able to govern their communities, balance their political and public life and democratise and hold to account a vast array of unelected bodies that spend public money and develop public policy without the electoral mandate and legitimacy held by our councillors. This JFFLabs' initiative focuses on creating value at the local level. It has engaged seven workforce boards in a cooperative effort to use their collective data more effectively and share insights more widely—through analytics on the one hand, and user-generates data stories on the other. It's an exciting vision that complements and enriches the work of the broader workforce data community and one you'll want to learn more about. Listen now! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Dr. Yolandra Hancock, board-certified pediatrician and obesity-medicine specialist, joins us to discuss the COVID health crisis. AstraZeneca is struggling to address concerns, as fear of instances of blood clots occurring shortly after patients receiving their vaccine increases. Also, the questions surrounding the correct use of ventilators are in the news again, as health workers across the UK report numerous instances of patients refusing ventilators due to fears associated with overuse of the machines early in the pandemic.James Carey, editor and co-owner of Geopoliticsalert.com, joins us to discuss Afghanistan. Negotiations for an end to the US occupation are floundering, as the Taliban wants US soldiers completely out of the country, and the current government wants them to stay and, on some level, guarantee their survival. Also, recent reports show that the US has approximately one thousand more troops in the war-torn nation than previously reported, and the Biden team is working to buy more time and bypass the previously negotiated May first pullout date.Ray McGovern, former CIA analyst and co-founder of both Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity and the Atlantic Council, a NATO-funded anti-Russia think tank, is struggling with an internal battle over their position on Russia. Recently, two of their employees penned an article pushing for a less confrontational position. They argued that the US should reduce their dependence on the issue of human rights in their approach to the Russian Federation. The article was immediately attacked by the traditional cold warriors and twenty-two Atlantic Council fellows signed a statement denouncing the article. Jareth Copus, author of "Ukraine: Forever a Pawn," returns to discuss the situation in Eastern Ukraine. Concerns over the possibility of a Ukrainian military offensive have been rising lately as the Zelensky government appears to be moving large numbers of troops and war material to the front. Copus also gives us a brief history of the war-torn nation with a particular focus on the Eastern region and how the 2014 US-backed coup affected its inhabitants. Laith Marouf, broadcaster and journalist based in Beirut, Lebanon, joins us to talk about the sanctions on Syria. The citizens of Syria are facing starvation and death, as draconian US sanctions devastate the nation's ability to survive. Also, a group of sixteen nations are coming together to petition the UN for action and the Russian Ambassador to the UK, Andrei Kelin, criticized the sanctions, imposed by the UK, the US, and several other countries against Syria, calling these sanctions morally bankrupt and unacceptable.Kathy Kelly, American peace activist, founding member of Voices in the Wilderness and co-coordinator for Voices for Creative Nonviolence, joins us to discuss Yemen. The Yemen resistance fighters seem to have given up on the promises of a reduction in violence from the Biden administration and are moving to recapture the oil-rich region of Marib. The Houthi fighters tout a recent report that the Saudi military has positioned a large number of extremist jihadi fighters in the region as part of their incentive to recapture one of their centers of natural resources.Dan Kovalik, writer, author, and lawyer, joins us to discuss Iran. Iranian foreign minister Javad Zarif has warned the US that their elections in June will be a hindrance to getting a deal to reinstate the nuclear deal. Iran argues that the six-month lame-duck period after the elections will prevent the parliament from effectively participating in ratifying any agreements. Meanwhile, Biden representatives signal that they have no intention of moving forward anytime soon, and their actions imply that rejoining the agreement is a low priority on their foreign policy agenda.Carlos Castaneda, immigration lawyer, joins us to discuss immigration. The US House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on two bills that could millions of people who are currently classified as illegal or undocumented immigrants are provided a path to citizenship. One of the bills would focus on young people eligible for the "dreamers" program and the second would address farmworkers.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has vowed to impeach US President Donald Trump less than two weeks before he leaves office.Dr. Clarence Lusane, author, activist and political science professor at Howard University, returns to talk about the aftermath of last week's Capitol Hill breach of the congressional complex. Pelosi has vowed to impeach Trump, as Republican members of Congress struggle with a response. Also, Sens. Pat Toomey (R-PA) and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) have called for the president to resign.Niko House, political activist, independent journalist and podcaster, returns to The Critical Hour to discuss the recent spate of online social media bans. Trump has been permanently banned from Twitter, as have his lawyer Sidney Powell and recently the pardoned Michael Flynn. Also, Edward Snowden has released a statement warning that this move sets a dangerous precedent.Danny Sjursen, retired US Army major and author of "Patriotic Dissent: America in the Age of Endless War," joins us to discuss his recent article on US President-elect Joe Biden's selection of Victoria Nuland as undersecretary of state for political affairs. In the article, Sjursen reviews a number of the Biden nominees and explains how the selection of this group demonstrates the hawkish nature of the Biden foreign policy worldviewElisabeth Myers, lawyer, former editor-in-chief of Inside Arabia and democracy lead for Democrats Abroad, joins us to discuss the Trump administration's plan to designate the Houthi movement in Yemen as a terrorist organization. After almost six years of the worst humanitarian crisis on earth, humanitarian groups and international diplomats are concerned that this could complicate efforts to broker a peace agreement. Many political analysts believe that this is another effort to complicate potential moves by the Biden administration to mediate an end to the conflict. Nick Davies, peace activist and author of "Blood on Our Hands, the American Invasion and Destruction of Iraq," joins us to discuss new domestic terrorism legislation proposed by the incoming Biden administration. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has written a document outlining its opposition to proposed legislation that will allegedly address instances of domestic terrorism. Civil liberties advocates have compared the timing and introduction of this legislation to the Patriot Act being rolled out immediately after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Jareth Copus, author of "Ukraine: Forever a Pawn," joins us to discuss Biden's past dealings in Ukraine and his proposed foreign policy team. Copus utilizes his expertise on the eastern European nation to evaluate whether the anti-Russian hawks in the incoming Biden administration are likely to adjust course. Also, he discusses recent nominee Victoria Nuland and her contributions to the 2014 Maidan coup.KJ Noh, peace activist, writer and teacher, joins us to discuss China. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said over the weekend that he was lifting the US' "self-imposed restrictions" on contacts between its officials and their Taiwanese counterparts, which is likely to further strain relations between Washington and Beijing in the final days of the Trump administration. This announcement seems designed to complicate foreign policy matters for the incoming Biden team. Ray McGovern, former CIA analyst and co-founder of the Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity, joins us to discuss the latest on WikiLeaks co-founder Julian Assange. "UK judge Vanessa Baraitser justified CIA spying on Julian Assange by citing a falsehood-filled CNN report," according to a recent article in The Grayzone. Her judgment demonstrates the incestuous relationship between the media and the state. Also, Biden has selected William Burns, president of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, to head the CIA.

Enjoy music from Blarney Castle, Runa, and Keltricity. http://louisvilleirishfest.com.   Notes * Helping you celebrate Celtic culture through music. My name is Marc Gunn. I am a Celtic and Geek musician and podcaster. This podcast is dedicated to indie Celtic music. These are the bands who are usually trying to make it without a record label. I have a caveat about that today. I'll tell you about it in a moment. I want to ask for your help to bring these artists the attention they deserve by sharing the show with your friends. You can find more episodes at celticmusicpodcast.com. And you can support for this show on Patreon. There are a lot of small record labels who are doing great things for Celtic musicians. One of those is Temple Records. That's the label of Battlefield Band. In addition to releasing music by Battlefield Band, the label also helps small artists who are doing great things for Scottish music. Like Christine Primrose. About the time I was finishing up the 2-hour Scottish Music show, episode #317, Temple Records sent me music from Christine Primrose. She sings in Scots Gaelic I thought she'd be a great addition to the show. I asked if they had any other music. But I didn't receive anything until the day after I published the show. So today, I'm gonna highlight several artists from Temple Records, including the first band. * CELTIC PODCAST NEWS I want start by thanking everyone who picked up the 2017 Sainted Song Henger Special and collected the 10 bonus CDs from my Celtic music arhive. I really appreciate your support of this show. The collection is still on sale along with podcast t-shirts, but of course, you'll have to do without the bonus CDs. You can find all of our swag and compilation CDs in our store at http://bestcelticmusic.net/shop/  The Irish & Celtic Music Podcast exists on the generosity of our Patrons of the Podcast. You can pledge as little as $1 per episode to pay for the production of this podcast, as well as my time in producing the show. You'll even get shows before regular listeners and my deepest thanks. I want to thank our newest patron: Kevin Crosson. Patrons also help me pick the next 2-hour special milestone. Become a patron today to celebrate Celtic culture through music! http://patreon.com/celticpodcast  Finally, check out http://AmeriCeltic.net. Tony Becket setup this website "to restore awareness, celebrate and preserve the culture and history of Celtic Americans by promoting live Celtic music, festivals, history & ancestry." He's working primarily with Northern California Celtic performers. And he has a YouTube channel which could use your love.  Celtic music and culture is a relatively small community. I mean, if all of the Scottish, Irish, and Welsh ancestry people united, we'd have one heck of a cultural impact. Instead, it's limited mostly to St. Patrick's Day. That's a shame. So I'd like to ask your help of spreading the word about AmeriCeltic. And I'd also encourage you to start your own local Celtic community. Help get the word out about your musicians and cultural organizations. Let's keep Celtic culture growing! And if you have a local organization, let me know. I'd be happy to either mention it here, or better yet, list it in our Celtic Music Magazine. * I WANT YOUR FEEDBACK: What are you doing today while listening to the podcast? I came from Paris to support Ben for a historical fencing competition followed by walking across the west coast of Ireland. Sadly I just lost my personal phone so I had no music to listen to and no Internet outside of our B&B. So I was looking for some podcasts. I discovered yours! It was a pleasure to listen to your playlist all week, during the competition and then on the wonderful cliffs of Black Head walking to Moher, in the bus to Dublin, in the plane back to Paris and finally, in my tub with a little tear thinking about this incredible trip and awesome people. Thank you for being a part of this. I'll continue to listen to your podcast until the next time ! Best, Charlie" Zak Kennedy emailed: "I listened to Episode 319 while mowing my yard and a few other chores around the house. I have also played other episodes while driving for my local transit agency. Had a few people ask what I was listening to and said they enjoyed it. I've downloaded a couple of older episodes that I missed to listen to in the run up to this year's Dublin Irish Festival. Have you been to it as a presenter or performer? Keep up the great work!"
