Why is go-to-market still broken in B2B?Because nobody owns the commercial outcome. In this pivotal episode of The B2B Playbook, we sit down with Carolyn Dilks (co-founder of Passetto) and Adem Manderovic (co-founder of CRO School) to unpack why sales, marketing, and customer success continue to operate in silos—and what needs to change. This isn't another “alignment” chat. It's a practical blueprint for rebuilding GTM around commercial oversight, financial accountability, and real market validation—not just KPIs that make the dashboard look good.We cover:+ How Predictable Revenue broke GTM—and what comes next+ Why “meetings booked” is a destructive metric+ The missing role of commercial acumen in sales and marketing+ What Passetto does to bridge GTM and finance+ How CRO School is restoring financial ownership across revenue teams+ And why this isn't a fix at the department level—it's a top-down restructureIf your GTM strategy feels reactive, misaligned, or just plain inefficient—this conversation is your roadmap to a commercially viable, scalable system.https://theb2bplaybook.com/cro-school-----------------------------------------------------

Through the years we wear the badge of putting ourselves and our needs last proudly. We martyr ourselves because if we don't, we are shamed into believing that if we aren't putting others first all the time, then we aren't a good (fill in the blank) wife, mother, daughter, friend, employee, and on and on.Breaking the pattern of martyrdom and beginning to believe that you and what you need are just as important as everyone else's needs doesn't happen overnight, but it all starts with belief in the statement, “I deserve it”. Just as much as everyone else does, if not more.I hope you enjoy this week's FNBB - INVEST IN YOURSELF!Come talk to me here:Get your MIDLIFE in MOTION!! And boy, did she!  Katie not only lost weight, but a lot of inches even during the holiday season. We worked through eating healthy, protein, and communication with family and getting their support. And we discussed the importance of not only cardio exercise, but strength training to redistribute your body weight.  Her confidence has soared because she knows she did it herself without relying on crazy diets or pills. It has to be aligned with your own values, aligned with your strengths.   I have found that successful entrepreneurs are the ones that find tasks that motivate them intrinsically.   Things I noticed when I talked to entrepreneurs is that they talked in visionary terms a lot. We don't have to do things as they are, let's think about how they could be. For people working individually it helps you to deal with uncertainty.   These are steps I use with clients and myself.   Take-aways you don't want to miss What results Erin has gotten from starting a LinkedIn Newsletter How Erin went from being an employee to being a consultant Why do you need to find intrinsic reward when self-employed What setting a vision can do for you as a business owner How Erin balances being a consultant with being a mother What you can do to learn optimism (and why it's surprising)   Some resources for you   www.erinshrimpton.com - Erin's Website https://www.linkedin.com/in/erinshrimpton - Erin's LinkedIn Profile Using and Entrepreneurial mindset - Erin's linkedin courseCheck out the episode now!

Unfortunately, many people hold the idea that all hardships and trials we face are a result of sin. But that does not align with the Savior's teachings. He taught, in John 9:3, “Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.”If we go about trying to prevent those inevitables from happening we will feel even more pain, stress, disappointment, fear, failure, and not good enough. It's not about just sitting aside and saying ok then, I will just let bad things happen and do nothing. It's about fortifying yourself for the future, preparing for those times to happen and what you will do.In this week's episode I discuss specific steps we can actually take to fortify ourselves. My Spiritual Survival Course will help you implement those steps into your daily life. Intuitive eating is a gentle approach to health and life that prioritizes feeling good in your body. It helps you cultivate a much more relaxed relationship with food, but the process isn't always easy. It takes time and patience, and a lot of work to unlearn and reframe diet culture messaging we've learned over the years.Weight-inclusive health coach Tomesha Campbell joins me to talk about how you can work through some common roadblocks that people typically come across when trying to adopt an intuitive eating lifestyle.Tomesha Campbell is an experienced health coach, speaker, and blogger. She is driven by the desire to support women to break up with the scale and develop a positive body image through a weight-inclusive approach to health. A couple of weeks ago I was on a call with a prospect who was looking for help with her marketing. She had paid for a freight broker training course where she would be able to work under the company's MC # when the training was completed. Only when she was done with the training, the course owner ghosted her and she was left without a pathway forward. This was heartbreaking because very few people can afford to drop a couple grand on a training course that doesn't lead to an actual job. So I posted about it to Linkedin and mannnnnnnn, the freight community really came through. Within a few hours, I had people from all over the US reaching out to help a woman they've never met but knew she genuinely wanted to get involved in the freight industry. The community came through by offering up contacts and resources to help her and it was also a reminder about my friends Ben and Nate over at Freight 360. You see, they've actually done the hard work of creating a legitimate freight broker course. It's so good that they've secured training partnerships with the TIA and other industry leaders. Not only do they offer the course, but they consistently offer sales training to keep your educational journey moving in a good direction. All that to say, we've got Freight 360 co-host and co-founder Ben Kowalski on today's show dropping a ton of gems on what prospective freight brokers need to know before they purchase a course, what sales strategies brokers should be implemented in 2022, what marketing can do to help sales teams, and so much more. 163: What an Obligate Carnivore Taught Me About My Protein Consumption

Keto Naturopath

Most of us understand what it means to be a carnivore, as a human or an animal. Being an obligate carnivore, however, requires something completely different. If a cat does not get all its nutritional requirements met, it will become ill and die. Almost all cat food is processed, and that initiates a prolonged and gradual nutritional deficiency for cats.Understanding the protein requirements of cats has made Dr. Karl become a more serious carnivore for the sake of his health.A lesson from cats that can be applied universallyAlthough Dr. Karl always knew that cats are obligate carnivores, he did not truly understand what that meant until recently. One of his cats would only eat ground-up chicken meat, and she was not doing well. Now Dr. Karl understands that having only one kind of protein is wrong. It can get you into nutritional deficiency.Different kinds of proteinThere is a huge difference between muscle meat and organ meat. There is also a big difference between muscle meat from fish, muscle meat from beef, and muscle meat from chicken, pork, or lamb because all of those animals eat different things. A nutrient deficiencyIf you eat only muscle meat, you will have some kind of deficiency. So, if you are a carnivore, you are obligated to eat organ meats, like liver, too, because organ meat contains a vastly different nutrient profile to muscle meat. Obligate carnivoreAn obligate carnivore is an animal that has to eat other animals. A cat is an obligate carnivore, so there is no value in feeding cats vegetables.Amino acidsHumans need eight essential amino acids because our bodies are unable to produce them. Our bodies can make the other amino acids that we need, however. Obligate carnivores need eleven amino acids. Their bodies are unable to make amino acids in the same way that we, as humans, can.Feeding a cat a raw food dietIf you feed a cat a raw food diet it has to contain a variety of different kinds of meats to cover all the nutritional needs of the cat and prevent any deficiencies.Secondary carbohydratesIn the wild, obligate carnivores get secondary carbohydrates from eating the viscera of their prey which contains undigested carbohydrates.Cats cannot store fuelCats in the wild cannot store fuel as humans can, so they need to hunt daily. GluconeogenesisHumans can make glucose from the amino acids in protein. That is called gluconeogenesis. Cats need glucoseCats also need glucose. They produce it via gluconeogenesis from the protein they eat.Protein is the perfect foodIf you have nothing other than meat to eat, it will give you enough appropriate glucose to sustain your glucose activity for your red blood cells and nervous system.DiversifyDiversify your protein sources, or else you could self-induce nutritional deficiencies.Links and resources:PSMF 30-day courseCheck out the Keto Naturopath website, join our Facebook Group, and follow us on Pinterest!Subscribe to our YouTube Channel!Download our Free Keto Foods ListVisit our partnersBuy Keto Friendly Dry Farm WinesGet your KetoMoJo Here and test your ketones.

It is simple enough to know that everyone needs protein. Yet, the protein that people are consuming has been decreasing over the years. It is particularly low in adults over the age of 50. To compensate, people are consuming more carbohydrates. Unfortunately, most of those carbohydrates are refined and processed. A simple change that will create a long-lasting and sustainable change is to increase your protein to the appropriate level and keep it there. The Protein Sparing Modified Fast (PSMF) is the best way to start learning about protein. You can then use it as a guideline to create a healthy diet for yourself. Understanding proteinWe need to understand protein. We need to know how much protein we need and how it can change our lives.A different contextWorking with people on various programs and doing panels and labs has given Dr. Karl a different context. He understands that we are not all the same, and we will not all get the same results from doing the same thing.MetabolismTo change your metabolism, you need to look at the bigger picture. You have to get to the root of the problem that you are having metabolically and address that. The ketogenic dietThe ketogenic diet started around treating pediatric epilepsy in the 1920s. At the time, they were most concerned about finding the right diet, and they were worried that they were not going to give the children enough protein. Growing children need protein, so giving them less protein to stop their epilepsy could stunt their growth. That concern held back the roll-out of the classic ketogenic diet. How much protein do you need?Science has now clarified that we need a minimum of one gram of protein per pound of body weight. That converts to a minimum of 2.2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight. Too much protein can damage the kidneys. The upper limit of our protein intake has not yet been determined, however.Stimulating your muscle massProtein is very satisfying and satiating. Adults tend to be satiated sooner than younger people, so they need to have the right amount of protein every day. By dividing your daily protein intake up over four meals per day, you can stimulate your muscle mass production even more. Building a diet around proteinBuilding a diet around the right amount of protein could stop muscle atrophy in all adults going forward. The truthThe truth of protein as the core of who we are and what we need in our daily diet has been far under-represented. That is something that needs to be addressed. ExerciseDoing at least fifteen minutes of high-intensity training twice a week will stimulate your muscle mass. (High-intensity training means pushing yourself to muscle fatigue in a short time.)Avoid becoming frailBy ensuring that you get enough protein daily, you can avoid becoming an under-muscled frail person with bone and autoimmune problems.Links and resources:PSMF 30-day courseCheck out the Keto Naturopath website, join our Facebook Group, and follow us on Pinterest!Subscribe to our YouTube Channel!Download our Free Keto Foods ListVisit our partnersBuy Keto Friendly Dry Farm WinesGet your KetoMoJo Here and test your ketones.

Something that nobody is talking about today is the mental health crisis in the US that was exacerbated by the COVID pandemic.A low-carb keto diet and genomic testing can do a lot to change that situation easily. Now is the time to start!Today, Dr. Karl will be going over the serious issue of mental illness in the US (and worldwide) that appears to have worsened since the pandemic. Mental illness includes severe depression, bipolar, schizophrenia, and obsessive-compulsive disorder, amongst others. Dr. Karl decided to address the topic by sharing some interesting and relevant audio clips that focus on mental illness from a slightly different perspective. One of the clips comes from a comedy, and the other is from a PBS special coming up in June. After that, Dr. Karl talks about what he thinks can and should be done to manage those situations.Genomic predispositionOver the last 20 years, Dr. Karl has found depression, bipolar, and schizophrenia closely related because people tend to have a genomic predisposition to those conditions. People also tend to have a genomic predisposition to obsessive-compulsive disorder. The methylation cycleDepression, bipolar, schizophrenia, and obsessive-compulsive disorder are closely related to the methylation and folic acid cycles. From Dr. Karl’s perspective, irregularities in the methylation process tend to be one of the first things to show up with mental illnesses because certain people have problems with methylating Vitamin B12 and folic acid appropriately.DietSometimes people have a predisposition to high or low blood sugars from the foods they eat. People tend to compensate by eating things that make them feel good when they are not feeling well due to their genetic mutations. Two prongsDr. Karl looks at two prongs. One is people’s genomic predisposition, and the other is their diet. You can overcome a genomic mutation by changing your diet. Mental health problemsMental health problems have been induced in our culture largely due to the lack of nutrition in highly refined processed foods which were, for the most part, designed to be addictive. FamineToday, we are experiencing a famine in all but calories because the refined, processed food that people are eating is full of calories but devoid of nutrition. It is possibleIt is possible to overcome metabolic disorders relatively easily by identifying people’s genomic mutations and adjusting their diets accordingly.Links and resources:PSMF 30-day courseCheck out the Keto Naturopath website, join our Facebook Group, and follow us on Pinterest!Subscribe to our YouTube Channel!Download our Free Keto Foods ListPBS 4-part series on the Mental Health CrisisThe Komisky Method on NetflixVisit our partnersBuy Keto Friendly Dry Farm WinesGet your KetoMoJo Here and test your ketones.

Seven years ago, Dr. Karl started looking into how to purchase C8 MCT Oil in liquid form because it was not available anywhere. He thought it could help to heal his gut from Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis and render his impending surgery unnecessary. And it did! That made him look even deeper into why it worked so well. He learned all about ketones and how they were anti-inflammatory. That required him to learn about ketosis and the ketogenic diet. So, his fascination with the rabbit hole of exploration into C8 MCT Oil began and it has not stopped since.Welcome to another episode of the Keto Naturopath. Today, we will be going over the history of the use of MCT oil. Dr. Karl had a product on Amazon for more than three years that was the highest natural source of caprylic acid triglyceride (C8) available in North America and Europe. He no longer sells his product on Amazon, but the story of how he got there is still valuable. TriglyceridesMostly, fats get transported through the body as a triglyceride. Any triglyceride is made of three fats, so when Dr. Karl mentions C8 (meaning caprylic acid triglyceride), he is referring to the three individual fatty acids that make up caprylic acid. Almost two yearsDr. Karl spent almost two years looking for a sustainably–harvested, natural source of caprylic acid triglyceride derived from palm oil. Thinking about C8He remembered from med school that one of the things you can use for gut problems was caprylic acid triglyceride, a supplement available at any pharmacy. A productDr. Karl came out with his product in late 2015 and put it on Amazon. DishonestyThrough that experience, Dr. Karl learned that there is a lot of dishonesty in marketing, particularly regarding supplements.Three yearsDr. Karl kept his product on Amazon for about three years and went through a couple of cycles. Then, a few months ago, he took it off Amazon. KetonesNow, he uses a CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitor) to keep track of his glucose levels. He found that by using a little C8 on a snack, his blood sugar levels stay consistently low because it makes ketones. Ketone production is the preferential fuel for the brain, and the ketones keep his energy levels up. A brain hackUsing a reasonable amount of C8 is a healthy brain hack for producing ketones. Links and resources:PSMF 30-day courseCheck out the Keto Naturopath website, join our Facebook Group, and follow us on Pinterest!Subscribe to our YouTube Channel!Download our Free Keto Foods ListVisit our partnersBuy Keto Friendly Dry Farm WinesGet your KetoMoJo Here and test your ketones.Studies Links:Tricaprylin Alone Increases Plasma Ketone Response More Than Coconut Oil or Other Medium-Chain Triglycerides: An Acute Crossover Study in Healthy AdultsPlasma Ketone and Medium Chain Fatty Acid Response in Humans Consuming Different Medium Chain Triglycerides During a Metabolic Study DayBook mentioned:Survival of the Fattest by Stephen C. Did you know that many blood sugar problems (dysglycemia) are closely related to psychological conditions, like bipolar, schizophrenia, and major depressive disorder? It is also almost unbelievable that approximately 60% of people with diabetes have some type of mental disorder, and some people have known genetic SNPs that predispose them to schizophrenia. That also makes one wonder about the connections related to bipolar and other mental disorders. That concept was not etched in stone. But the curtain is currently being lifted on those conditions, and new connections are being made and explored. New ideas around processed food additions and methylation dysregulation are coming to light. Those ideas are opening the door to dietary interventions and orthomolecular (use of specific supplements) support. In this episode, Dr. Karl tackles a big topic by segmenting it into smaller ideas to make it a little more coherent and easier to understand. Not everything that he talks about today has been proven, but some pieces of it have. So, when all the bits get put together, they provide an interesting solution for a cultural, environmental, personal, and human medical condition.  We’re talking about depression and various mental disorders within the context of a mitochondrial problem, like mitochondrial disorder or mitochondrial dysregulation. An over-production of neurotransmittersPeople with autism, dyslexia, hyperactivity, ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder), and addictions do not have an adequate regulatory process. They are therefore unable to control the production or breakdown of neurotransmitters. With even a little stress, things start to fall apart. A common interview question revolves around opportunity for growth within a company. This is something that I have spoken to numerous young professionals about. While the answer varies from company to company, my initial response is always the same; if you act treat your current position like it's your own business, you will be a leader on day 1. Scott described this beautifully in our discussion by saying that an individual must become a leader when they run out of bandwidth to perform their daily activities without assistance. This is a powerful idea, because it empowers everyone to take on as much responsibility as they desire, and then scale their actions to achieve the highest level of success. This means that your achievements will directly coorelate to your goals and your effort.I encourage anyone that wants to be a leader, to treat your current position as though you are the CEO of your own job. Set goals and strategy, execute the strategy and scale the results. You will be amazed by how much you are able to accomplish with this mindset!Scott began leading high performance teams in consequential environments as a teenager when he landed a job as a climbing guide on Mt. Rainier in Washington State. After eight years leading in the outdoors, and having completed college and Law School, he embarked on a lengthy career in government. Over several decades Scott served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney and as an FBI Special Agent. Scott was a Counterintelligence operations officer, an Assistant Special Agent in Charge of Intelligence and Counterintelligence, and lived in the Middle East as the FBI's Legal Attaché in Baghdad, Iraq.Scott's core expertise is in building and leading high performance teams. In addition, he has successfully coached emerging leaders across many disciplines including the security industry, non-profits, government, transitioning veterans and intelligence community leaders, the culinary industry, Tae Kwon Do age group national champions, and MMA fighters.Scott also developed and implemented the FBI's front-line Leadership Development Program and the FBI's leadership performance assessment process for Special Agents in Charge.Scott is a member of ASIS and SHRM, holds a B.A. in History from the University of Washington and a Juris Doctor from the Seattle University School of Law.Want to check out similar episodes?Listen to Gina Osborn, Cold War SpyConnect with ScottLinkedInWebsiteTake his First Promotion training courseCheck out the Every Breath Counts Podcast Website

In Dr. Karl’s view, Dr. Gaby is singularly the most authoritative person when it comes down to what we know about supplements and their specific applications for various conditions. Dr. Gaby spent almost 40 years studying, accumulating, and applying various supplements. He has become the definitive source for determining what we know about supplements and how to use them to benefit us and improve our health. We are currently a culture overwhelmed by the clever marketing of false information, particularly around supplements. Unfortunately, that information is full of specious claims that offer no solid research. That tends to leave most of us very confused regarding the truth about specific supplements.Dr. Karl feels that he, too, would be lost regarding supplements without Dr. Gaby’s 1,458-page Nutritional Medicine textbook, which removes the fog of false claims and covers 400 different conditions. The book is Dr. Karl’s foundation for finding out what we know, what is safe, and the doses Dr. Gaby recommends after doing his research and valid studies. Dr. Karl has had enough life experience to know that writing the book was a heroic undertaking for Dr. Gaby. Dr. Gaby’s book is a vital resource to help us manage our health and minimize the use of pharmaceutical medication, thereby avoiding any disastrous side effects. Feel free to download some chapters here for free to experience the life-saving value of Dr. Gaby’s book, Nutritional Medicine.Dr. Karl has no financial affiliation to Dr. Gaby’s book or his work. It is just something he believes in and trusts. In this episode, Dr. Karl shares his final thoughts after his interview with Dr. Gaby.Heroic workDr. Karl feels that by writing his book, Dr. Gaby has done some heroic work for humanity. False informationDr. Karl’s issue with practicing medicine today, as a naturopathic physician, is that there is so much clever marketing based on false information.PubMedThere is efficiency in getting information online. Dr. Karl often looks things up on PubMed. However, he cautions people that the information on PubMed is not always 100% true because it merely shares listings of ‘studies’. Bogus studiesMany pharmaceutical and supplement companies now use PubMed, knowing that people will go there because they think of it as a better source of information. It is a good source of information, but unfortunately, some companies use bogus studies to create good abstracts that most people tend to believe. Think for yourselfDr. Karl urges you to think for yourself and learn to differentiate between what is right and wrong.  Links and resources:PSMF 30-day courseCheck out the Keto Naturopath website, join our Facebook Group, and follow us on Pinterest!Subscribe to our YouTube Channel!Download our Free Keto Foods ListVisit our partnersBuy Keto Friendly Dry Farm WinesGet your KetoMoJo Here and test your ketones.Download some free chapters here or purchase Dr. Gaby’s book, Nutritional Medicine.

This is the final part of the interview that Dr. Karl did with Dr. Alan Gaby, an internationally renowned researcher and physician who has focused on nutritional medicine. Dr. Gaby has been called the “Father of Nutritional Medicine”.In this episode, they talk about DHEA and the results it has when used appropriately. They explain what labs generally do, and they talk about iron and why it is important. They also discuss the value of doing an elimination diet and much more. Stay tuned! We hope you will enjoy the last part of Dr. Karl’s interview with Dr. Alan Gaby.DHEADHEA is a steroid hormone that gets produced naturally in the adrenal glands. In males, fifty percent of the DHEA gets produced in the testes and fifty percent in the adrenals. In females, only about ten percent of the DHEA comes from the ovaries. The other ninety percent comes from the adrenals.DHEA and MenopauseWhen women are given DHEA as a supplement at menopause, it sometimes relieves some of their menopausal symptoms, and in a few cases that Dr. Gaby has seen, DHEA reversed some post-menopausal bone loss.Autoimmune diseasesIn medical literature, there is evidence that high doses of DHEA can be used for treating lupus. There is also evidence that rheumatoid arthritis-related conditions can be treated with DHEA. LabsDr. Gaby recommends using standard labs to do the complete blood count and chemistry panel and determine the iron status and the thyroid, liver, and kidney function.Ask questionsDr. Gaby recommends getting a good history and talking to people. He feels that there is no substitute for asking as many questions as possible. The review of systemsThe review of systems is a checklist that can often contribute to an accurate diagnosis, if done thoroughly and carefully.ErrataIn the first part of his interview with Dr. Gaby,  Dr. Karl mistakenly referred to the Tahoma Clinic in Seattle as the Tacoma Clinic. Dr. Karl mentioned in the first part of the interview that he had bought the book Nutritional Medicine for $500. Dr. Gaby explained that the first edition of the book was sold for $300. It did cost more for the e-booklet or the surgical database, however. Right now, you can get both together for under $200.In the first part of the interview, Dr. Karl mentioned that Dr. Gaby read 600 journal articles a month. Dr. Gaby has explained that that would be impossible. He clarified by explaining that when he has search criteria from the Library of Congress, amongst other things, he reads the table of contents of 600 journals for topics to follow up on nutritional supplements. Links and resources:PSMF 30-day courseCheck out the Keto Naturopath website, join our Facebook Group, and follow us on Pinterest!Subscribe to our YouTube Channel!Download our Free Keto Foods ListVisit our partnersBuy Keto Friendly Dry Farm WinesGet your KetoMoJo Here and test your ketones.  Connect with Dr. Gaby:His website: Dr. GabyLink to his book: Nutritional Medicine 2nd Edition
