Episode 121: This week the show welcomes Aolani Glover to the program! I first met Aolani at Central Washington University back in 1997. As fellow residents within the same dorm, we would soon begin hanging out with our group of friends partaking in random activities such as ab workouts, dinner parties and drinks on the weekends. After graduating, Aolani took up a job working at Nike in Oregon. She later began training to become a police officer in Washington when she suddenly suffered a serious health issue that nearly took her life. This tragic event eventually led to her receiving a heart transplant at the UW Medical Center in Seattle. Aolani joins the podcast to speak about her experience living as a transplant patient, and discuss the music that helped to inspire her journey along the way.0:00 - Cold Open / Intro (Lee Michaels)1:43 - Weather / School, Family & Church9:07 - CWU & The Dorms18:07 - The Dunhams / 8-Min Abs / Dining Hall23:12 - AM Geology Class 26:03 - Strong Personality / Adulting28:28 - College Major & Degree30:16 - Lee Olson / Passing Classes35:21 - Recruiting / Drinking / Red Robin39:43 - Job at Nike / Mother's Illness45:14 - WaMu / Married Life51:12 - Police Training / Waiting at Hospital 59:39 - Heart Tests / Coding / Harborview1:08:33 - Myspace Update / Hallucinations at UW1:11:00 - Device Options / Second Heart Failure1:16:27 - Transplant Waiting List / Utah Nurse1:24:43 - Heart Transplant Stats / Masks & Covid1:31:54 - Meeting Donor's Family1:42:52 - Lifespan Of Recipients / Aolani's PSA1:46:37 - Heart Attacks & Warning Signs1:51:37 - Surviving & Purpose1:58:15 - Organ Donations, Science & Technology2:02:09 - Inspirational Music / Songs About Hearts2:07:49 - E.T. & Pop Culture / Staying Positive2:11:03 - Outro / Close AOLANI'S HEART LINKS* Life Center Northwesthttps://lcnw.org/* Organ Donation and Transplantation: How Does it Work?https://youtu.be/K4bS7YZjqhY* Sign Up to Save Lives: Be An Organ Donorhttps://www.donors1.org/learn-about-organ-donation/sign-up-to-save-lives/* How UNOS, OPOs and transplant programs work together to save liveshttps://unos.org/about/national-organ-transplant-system/MUSIC CLIPS* Roxette - Listen To Your Heart (Official Music Video)* Elton John, Kiki Dee - Don't Go Breaking My Heart (with Kiki Dee)* Stevie Nicks - Stop Draggin' My Heart Around (Official Video) [HD Remaster]* Bee Gees - How Can You Mend a Broken Heart, live 1975* Billy Ray Cyrus - Achy Breaky Heart live at Jay Leno 1993* Neil Diamond - Heartlight (E.T. - Heartlight)* Deee-Lite - Groove is in the Heart (Live in Roskilde 1991)* Heart of Glass - Blondie | The Midnight Special* Bonnie Raitt - Just Like That (Official Lyric Video)

Since the plandemic began, both sides of the controversy have been at each other's throats. Persecution, name calling, fighting, and consigning the other to Hell. But both sides are wrong. The vaccine and mask are neither a commandment, nor a condemnation. But is sure has pitted brother against brother, saint against saint.
We are back for Season 4 Episode 5 of the Shared Experiences Podcast! Today, the boys are diving deep into education (not just from school) as they discuss the cost of college as well as the dissatisfaction many people are feeling post-graduation, how the student loan forgiveness plan may or may not help. Most importantly, Josh shows us how not to take pre-workout. Starting off with work culture, the guys get into quiet quitting and why people are starting to take back their personal lives/what the important things you need in that personal life are. Next, in the Wheel of Experiences, Casey shares his story of drunkenly abandoning his girlfriend on New Years, and Josh tells us how he handled a Brazilian girl taking multiple facetimes on their date. Keeping the theme going, the guys analyze the differences in foreign vs American women, information, and education before wrapping up with talking about Moderna's lawsuit with Pfizer and the new world post-COVID. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tests positive for COVID-19 https://www.cbsnews.com/news/justin-trudeau-positive-covid-19/ Triple vaxxed, masks wearing, black face Trudeau test positive for COVID. In a tweet he released this morning blackface Trudeau said this: “This morning, I tested positive for COVID-19. I'm feeling fine – and I'll continue to work remotely this week while following public health guidelines. Everyone, please get vaccinated and get boosted.” You can't help those who actively want to remain stubborn and ignorant. Earlier today, my friend Alex Barendregt, was on the ground in Ottawa, and here is what he had to say about what happened this past weekend and what is going on this morning. Roll Clilp. Apple is lobbying against a bill aimed at stopping forced labor in China https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2020/11/20/apple-uighur/ According to WaPo: “Apple lobbyists are trying to weaken a bill aimed at preventing forced labor in China, according to two congressional staffers familiar with the matter, highlighting the clash between its business imperatives and its official stance on human rights. The Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act would require U.S. companies to guarantee they do not use imprisoned or coerced workers from the predominantly Muslim region of Xinjiang, where academic researchers estimate the Chinese government has placed more than 1 million people into internment camps. Apple is heavily dependent on Chinese manufacturing, and human rights reports have identified instances in which alleged forced Uighur labor has been used in Apple's supply chain. The staffers, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the talks with the company took place in private meetings, said Apple was one of many U.S. companies that oppose the bill as it's written. They declined to disclose details on the specific provisions Apple was trying to knock down or change because they feared providing that knowledge would identify them to Apple. But they both characterized Apple's effort as an attempt to water down the bill.” Now there are a couple of things going on here. First you have anonymous sources here, two congressional staffers to be exact, and so it is hard to trust this information. Secondly, we do know that Apple, Nike, and various high profile American corporations are very dependent on China. For example: Apple's Tim Cook made secret deal with China worth $275B in 2016. According to Fox, “Apple received legal exemptions from regulatory action. In exchange, Apple agreed to a host of investments, including worker training, commitments to help Chinese manufacturers develop "the most advanced manufacturing technologies" and use Chinese-made components and other concessions meant to appease local authorities.” Pregnant man, pregnant person emoji coming to Apple iPhones https://www.foxbusiness.com/technology/pregnant-man-emoji-apple According to Fox: “A "pregnant man" emoji and "pregnant person" emoji are coming to Apple iPhones with its latest update, iOS 15.4 sparking controversy. “ This should not be a controversy, I mean at all. It should get a horse laugh and that is it. Remind you that these are the people who are also defining what misinformation is and who should get canceled. Hilarious. Speaking of cancel culture. Becoming an expatriate isn’t a new concept, surely we all remember the American artists at the turn of the century who took up residence in a place like Paris. France might not be your final destination, but that doesn’t mean becoming an expat isn’t in your future. While many people assume America is the freest country in the world, it doesn’t answer whether America is the freest country for you.
