Do You Struggle with Your “Prayer Life”? Find a Quiet Place for Your Personal Relationship with God and Pray to the Universe's Creator MESSAGE SUMMARY: Do you struggle with your “Prayer Life”, even though you know it is the most important component of a life lived as a Jesus Follower? Abraham provides you with a model for a “Prayer Life” that works. Abraham was an awesome man, and he had things happen in his life that were both important for him and humankind down through the ages as a resultant of his “Prayer Life”. For the development of your own “Prayer Life”, you can learn from Abraham's “Prayer Life”. One of the first things Abraham did, when he went to a new location or was in a new situation, was to build an altar to the Lord and call on the Lord's name in prayer. In Genesis 12:8, Abraham's focus on and the priority given to his “Prayer Life” is described: “From there he {Abraham}moved to the hill country on the east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. And there he built an altar to the LORD and called upon the name of the LORD.". Prayer was a priority for Abraham to build a place for God in his life and for his personal relationship with God. A way you can follow Abraham's example is to find an altar, a church, or a quiet place in your life to worship and pray, and to call upon the Lord's name like Abraham.   TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, Sabbath rest is truly an unbelievable gift! Thank you that there is nothing I can do to earn your love; it comes without any strings attached. As I close my eyes for these few minutes before you, all I can say is, thank you! In Jesus' name, amen.  Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 133). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM RIGHTEOUS IN GOD'S EYES. God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Genesis 12:7-8; Genesis 13:3-18; Genesis 22:9-14; Psalms 79:1-13. So many people are walking through life WANTING to solve problems of connection, and purpose and productivity and TRYING to do it. And they don't even realize they're doing this! But they're holding their lives – and especially the PEOPLE in their lives – at arm's length. This is what I call “covert avoidance.” You LOOK like you're engaged deeply with your life, but really? You're distracted, you're making plans and then canceling them, you're setting goals and then wiping them from your mind, and you're not being present for the people who are in your life – so everything stays shallow… Nothing goes anywhere. Nobody likes people who are controlling. Sometimes we all have to put up with controlling people because we have no one else to support us, or we need money, or, most often, because trauma trained us to tolerate control. But when you grew up with trauma, there can also be a tendency to BE controlling – maybe because you grew feeling things were so out of control it's now like a reflex to hold people down, to make them predictable and “safe.” That's not good either. In this video I teach about CPTSD and controlling behaviors that can hurt relationships. The way people date in our culture is like throwing spaghetti at a wall. It's driven by attraction, it goes very fast toward sex, and then (especially if you have CPTSD or attachment wounds because of neglect in your childhood) you're left totally dependent on the person to come through with the Steadfast love and commitment you expected to find you. But it's actually very rare that real love finds you this way. What trauma may have taken from you is the clarity and discernment to KNOW what kind of a relationship you want, and then to use dating – not spaghetti – to help you find it. In this video I respond to a letter from a woman who has rushed in to relationships and wonders why it doesn't turn to love. (2 Corinthians 5:21). SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Genesis 12:7-8; Genesis 13:3-18; Genesis 22:9-14; Psalms 79:1-13. A WORD FROM THE LORD WEBSITE: www.AWFTL.org. I started by trying strategies…hoping that something might work to alleviate my sadness and exhaustion. Hoping that I could bring the joy back into our family celebrations."I too have struggled with grief.  Many of you know that my dad passed away about a year and a half ago.  I thought that all I had to do was get past the first year.  Boy, was I wrong!  The second year of grief was just as hard.  I think in the second year I came to terms with  the reality of things.  Reality is a tough pill to swallow for sure.  I asked Andrea to come up with some solid ways to help manage grief during the holidays (and beyond).  From self care to setting boundaries its all here in this episode.  Please join us for this much needed discussion. Do you struggle trying to CONTROL everything?  I know I do!  I am a self-professed control freak in many ways.  It has taken me years to tame this control beast!  I have asked my friend and colleague Alida Wagner, RN, MSN, Health Coach to discuss how to take charge of your life and regain your worth.  __________________________________By trying to control everything and everyone around you, you've lost control of your own life, your happiness, and your self-worth. Here are 5 ways to take charge of your life and regain your worth.Do You Struggle with Anxiety?  Get Dr. Teralyn's FREE Cheat Sheet "Top 3 Ways to Kick Anxiety Today" CLICK HERE1-Stop trying to fix everythingMany women feel responsible to take care of the needs of the people they love in their life. Taking care of people isn't a bad thing, but it is when it turns into a need to control everything and everyone. The weird thing is, you don't even know that you're trying to control everything. You probably see it as being caring or trying to help.2-Figure out what is essential to YOUYou need to figure out what is essential to you and what your priority is. If you aren't clear about what it is that really matters to you, then someone else will decide it for you.Take back your power by knowing and sticking to what is most essential to you.3-Do checklists the right wayEveryone is so busy these days that checklists can be a great way to keep yourself organized and on track. But there's a dark side to checklists too. Checklists are great for providing structure and organizing the work you need to do, but they can also be a source of pain if you rely on completing that checklist to feel good about yourself. 4-Boundaries are your best friendIf you find yourself in the situation where other people are dictating your priorities, then it's time to establish and maintain some boundaries. Boundaries always felt like big harsh walls to me. But they don't have to be. Boundaries are simply your instructions for how you expect to be treated. A lack of boundaries invites a lack of respect.5-Be presentIt is really easy to get into little habits that result in escaping from the chaos in your life. Maybe it's having a glass of wine every night after work to unwind. Maybe it's plopping down on the couch and scrolling through Facebook on your phone while the kids watch TV. Maybe it's finding things to do so that you're so busy you don't have time to think about or deal with the stress in your life. It might be a nice short-term solution, but these things hurt you in the long run. What you're basically doing is avoiding dealing with your feelings, or numbing out to avoid the pain. Alida Wagner, RN, MSN, Health Coach Taking charge of your life is a lot about just taking care of yourself and letting go of worrying about everyone else and trying to fix everything. If you take care of yourself and make yourself happy first, then people in your life will be happier too. Do You Struggle with Family Rejection? Family rejection is a very common problem across the world. Many kids don’t talk to their parents and don’t even want to maintain any contact. Many of my listeners have the same problem and have estranged daughter or son living in other countries. In this episode, our guest Tina Gilbertson provides helpful insights on how to deal with family rejection. She is a Colorado-based psychotherapist who helps repair estranged relationships between parents and their children. Gilbertson found the problem so common among her clients that she wrote three books and a ton of articles on the subject. She will be giving out important tips on how to deal with family rejection and get talking with your estranged children. Every relationship has a chance Tina believes that every relationship has a potential to be repaired but for that, parents need to take both emotional and strategic steps. The first thing to do is to understand that your children may not be hurting you or avoiding you intentionally – it is because they have been hurt by something and hurting you back in the process. Develop compassion You have to develop a sense of self-compassion along with compassion for your children. You have to accept your mistakes and understand the grievances of your kids. Also, you may not always be at fault. Sometimes kids have a different experience because of their personality and perception without you having done anything wrong. Everybody has their temperament and you cannot do anything about it. Whatever be the case get over the parental shame and develop a mindset of compassion. Only then you will be able to get to apologize to repair the relationship. Give a good apology An apology is a gift and best tool to mend broken relationships suggests Tina. She lists out several factors that make up a good apology and open the doors of communication. To render a good and effective apology you must let all your guards down and become defenseless. Even if you are one percent defensive it will seep into your apology and make it ineffective. Tina tells us three unique factors that make up a good apology First, you need to be specific and say what you are sorry for; you should specifically speak out what you might have done wrong to hurt the person. If you are at fault, accept and clearly say you had done that. The second factor is to understand and relay back why it was hurtful to the person. For example, you can say “I’m, sorry, you didn’t deserve that” or “I’m sorry that my tone was harsh,” instead of saying that you were just sorry! The third factor is regret – you have to show that you are really sorry and regret the fact that your hurt them or did something wrong. You can add things like “if only I could take it back,” or “If I could change things..” to make your apology emotional and sincere. A good apology will break the ice and can get your children talking to you. Network Marketing Success Skills - Street Smart Wealth

Do You Struggle with Consistency in Your Business? On today’s show, I am interviewing the authors of the new book - The Consistency Chain - The Missing Link for Success in Network Marketing, George Campbell and Jim Packard. We are going to dive deep into Consistency and, honestly, it's the missing link in so much of what we do - life, relationships; business; health and fitness. We are going to talk about the 80/20 Pareto Principle and how we are wired one of 2 ways - the 80% and the 20%. And, being an 80% and not having consistency doesn't mean you lack ambition, education or anything else. You just are wired differently. Learn more about The Consistency Chain here! Welcome to the Street Smart Wealth Podcast, experience 310. Click the icon, top left (right between to two title links) to open the player and listen in! The Consistency Chain - The Missing Link for Success Here are some specific things to listen for in the show - The 80/20 rule How the 20% can better work with the 80% The Navy Seals - I just need to make it to breakfast! "Smart Goals" vs ER Goals Motivation vs Momentum The Chain and the Desire NOT to break the chain 3 Days and the power behind that The Marshmallow Test   I've known Jim Packard for years and he has the midas touch. He succeeds at everything he does, but even in Network Marketing, he was not able to "change" the wiring of those who are not the "20%' in how group. Nothing wrong with him, or those on the team. It's really about understanding and re-wiring how you think; act; and plan!   DIRECT SALES BUSINESS COACHING Looking for some help taking your business to the next level? Do You Struggle to Close Deals?  Seriously, it’s the dumbest question ever, because this is a HUGE problem with pretty much every entrepreneur!  Most people hate to sound salesy, and with good reason! I remember when I launched my first online product (I won’t even call it a business), I truly believed that the product was so good, and so valuable, that it would just sell itself.  You can imagine how that went. ZERO sales.  Now, I know better.  LISTEN: I do not claim to be a guru at selling or sales tactics. It’s still my weakest area, and that’s why I’m trying to bring some specialists on this week to talk about sales tactics and scripts to really provide tons of value.  But I do have a few tricks up my sleeve from building my business over the past several months, and the one today is super easy, and super effective.  Does it convert cold traffic? No.  Does it convert warm traffic? Yes, it actually does a pretty good job, and it’s a decent tool to have in your toolbox when you’re talking with clients about their problems, and how you can solve them. This isn't the only trick I have up my sleeve! I am, in fact, a business attorney, #1 Bestselling Author, Coach, Consultant, and 100% Verified Master Storyteller!  If you're interested in a FREE 1-hour coaching session with me, go to the link in the comments!
