En este vídeo analizamos a fondo lo que he decidido titular como "la estafa de los nuevos Premium". Un fenómeno que se ha vuelto descaradamente evidente tras la crisis de los microchips y la pandemia de 2020. Los fabricantes han aprendido una lección peligrosa para el bolsillo del consumidor: es mucho más rentable vender menos unidades, pero a un precio mucho más alto. Mucho más alto. Históricamente, las marcas generalistas como Citroën, Fiat, Hyundai o Seat vivían de la economía de escala: fabricar millones de coches con un margen de beneficio pequeño por unidad. Sin embargo, el paradigma ha cambiado radicalmente en 2024 y 2025. Grupos como Stellantis o Mercedes-Benz reportan beneficios récord a pesar de vender menos volumen. El "truco" consiste en disfrazar modelos básicos como vehículos de alta gama mediante equipamiento superficial y estrategias de marketing "aspiracional". El triunfo del maquillaje sobre la ingeniería El concepto de lujo ha mutado de forma preocupante. Ya no se busca la sofisticación técnica, el ajuste milimétrico o la durabilidad mecánica, sino el impacto visual inmediato. Las marcas están sustituyendo a los ingenieros de chasis por expertos en "estilo de vida". Te venden una "experiencia vital conectada" para que dejes de preguntar por el tipo de motor o si el eje trasero es multibrazo. Hoy, el lujo se mide en pulgadas de pantalla y en la cantidad de colores disponibles para la luz ambiental. Genealogía de plataformas: El esqueleto compartido Uno de los puntos clave de este ahorro de costes invisible es el uso de las plataformas modulares. Son, básicamente, un mecano gigante. Tomemos como ejemplo la plataforma MQB del Grupo Volkswagen: es la base tanto para un Skoda Fabia de precio contenido como para un Audi TT o un VW Arteon que triplican su coste. Pagas un sobreprecio enorme por la "piel", pero el esqueleto es exactamente el mismo que el del coche de tu vecino. Lo mismo ocurre con la plataforma CMP / STLA Small de Stellantis. Es la base del Peugeot 208, el Opel Corsa, el Jeep Avenger y el nuevo Lancia Ypsilon. Si quitamos la carrocería, serían indistinguibles. Cinco marcas, cinco precios distintos, pero una sola alma técnica. Incluso marcas como BMW han sacrificado su ADN, abandonando la propulsión trasera en sus modelos de acceso para compartir la plataforma UKL con Mini. El resultado es que un Serie 1 actual tiene más en común con un Mini Countryman que con las legendarias "máquinas de conducir" que forjaron la leyenda de la marca bávara. El "truco" de lo aspiracional y los motores compartidos Las marcas han popularizado el término "aspiracional" como un sustituto descafeinado de "Premium". Analizamos casos flagrantes donde el maquillaje intenta justificar precios desorbitados: -Cupra: Un éxito de marketing que logra que pagues miles de euros extra por un Seat León con pintura mate y detalles en color cobre. Mecánicamente, es el mismo coche con más "postureo". -DS Automobiles: Bajo el cuero con costuras de diamante de un DS 7, a menudo late un motor 1.2 PureTech de tres cilindros que podrías encontrar en una furgoneta de reparto. -Alpine: El espectacular A110 utiliza mandos de luces y satélites de audio de un Renault Clio IV en un coche que ronda los 75.000 euros. La pérdida de identidad llega hasta el corazón del vehículo. Hoy, el emblema en el capó no garantiza una mecánica exclusiva. Mercedes afirma que ellos "lo ponen a punto", pero el bloque de hierro es el mismo. ¿Pagarías por un reloj suizo de lujo si supieras que su maquinaria es un cuarzo básico? China y la obsolescencia digital La irrupción de los fabricantes chinos ha terminado de poner en evidencia a las marcas tradicionales. Marcas como Zeekr u Omoda ofrecen interiores con doble acristalamiento y procesadores de última generación a precio de generalista europeo. Han entendido que el cliente actual valora más un "gadget" que un motor. Un ejemplo brillante de marketing es llamar "piel vegana" a la polipiel sintética de toda la vida para que parezca un avance ecológico y exclusivo. Precedentes históricos: El pecado original Aunque aprovechar piezas viene de lejos, antes era una anécdota de ingeniería. Desde el De Tomaso Pantera con pilotos de Alfa Romeo hasta el Lamborghini Diablo, que usaba los faros de un Nissan 300ZX tapados con una moldura de carbono. Incluso el Jaguar XJ220, el coche más rápido de su época, utilizaba los retrovisores de un Citroën CX por pura eficiencia aerodinámica. La diferencia es que antes se hacía para mejorar el rendimiento o por economía de escala en piezas secundarias; hoy se hace para maximizar el beneficio disfrazando la mediocridad.

Changan: una nueva marca global que aterriza en España con ambición Changan es uno de los grandes gigantes de la automoción a nivel mundial y su llegada a España no es casualidad. El grupo cuenta con una estructura industrial y tecnológica de primer nivel, con 32 modelos en su oferta global que cubren todas las energías disponibles en el mercado. Está presente en 115 países, con 21 centros de fabricación, 76 filiales, cerca de 19.000 concesionarios y una plantilla de más de 120.000 empleados de cara al cliente. Uno de los grandes elementos diferenciadores de Changan frente a otros fabricantes chinos es su apuesta por la investigación y el desarrollo a escala global. Dispone de 44 centros de I+D repartidos por todo el mundo y más de 24.000 ingenieros, con presencia clave en Europa —Italia, Alemania y Reino Unido—, además de Estados Unidos y Japón. A esto se suman sus joint ventures estratégicas con marcas como Ford, Mazda y JMC, así como una división específica de vehículos ligeros. Toda la estrategia del grupo se apoya en tres pilares fundamentales: el Plan Verde, que incorpora nuevas tecnologías a toda la gama; el Plan Inteligente, con el objetivo de que el 100% de los coches sean conectados y con inteligencia artificial, incluyendo el lanzamiento de 35 nuevos modelos; y el Plan Internacional, que busca alcanzar 1,5 millones de unidades vendidas al año. Bajo este paraguas, Changan aterriza en España con un diseño europeo y una innovación global claramente definida. Changan Deepal S05 y S07: tecnología, diseño europeo y enfoque premium En los próximos tres años, Changan lanzará ocho nuevos modelos en nuestro mercado, y los primeros en llegar son los Deepal S05 y Deepal S07. Ambos han sido diseñados en Europa, con trabajos de desarrollo realizados entre Alemania, Italia y Reino Unido, pensados específicamente para el cliente europeo tanto en diseño como en experiencia de uso. El Deepal S05 destaca por su interior tecnológico y minimalista, con una pantalla central de 15,4 pulgadas de alta resolución que puede rotar hasta 15 grados hacia el conductor o el acompañante. No hay cuadro de instrumentos tradicional, ya que toda la información se delega en un HUD altamente configurable. A esto se suma un sistema de sonido de hasta 18 altavoces y 1.260 W, asientos de gran confort con soporte lumbar 3D y el sistema Queen Seat, que convierte el asiento del copiloto en una auténtica butaca de descanso. En el apartado técnico, el S05 ofrece versiones de tracción trasera y 4x4, con potencias de hasta 320 kW, batería de 68,8 kWh y autonomías que alcanzan los 605 km en ciclo urbano. Incorpora carga bidireccional V2L, bomba de calor, una estructura híbrida de acero y aluminio, 17 sistemas ADAS y cinco estrellas EuroNCAP. Todo ello con precios de lanzamiento muy agresivos, que parten desde 29.750 euros. El Deepal S07 mantiene la misma filosofía, pero con mayor tamaño, batería de 80 kWh y una orientación más familiar y rutera. Fiat: 125 años de historia y una gama que vuelve a equilibrarse Fiat es una de las marcas más icónicas de la historia del automóvil. Con más de 125 años de trayectoria, la Fábrica Italiana de Automóviles de Turín ha dado vida a modelos legendarios como el 500, el 600 o el Panda. En 2025 matriculó 20.926 unidades en España, un año marcado por la resiliencia tras la desaparición temporal del Fiat 500 de combustión, que dejó un hueco importante en volumen. La apuesta por electrificar en exclusiva el Fiat 500 llegó antes de que el mercado estuviera plenamente maduro, lo que obligó a la marca a replantear su estrategia. El Fiat 600 intentó cubrir ese vacío, pero no alcanzó el volumen esperado. Aun así, la gran noticia de 2025 fue la llegada del Fiat Grande Panda, que logró 1.170 matriculaciones y que se convertirá en uno de los pilares de la gama gracias a su oferta multienergía. De cara a 2026, Fiat prepara una ofensiva clave: el regreso del Fiat 500 Hybrid para recuperar volumen, actualizaciones en el Fiat 600, la llegada del Grande Panda de gasolina y dos nuevos modelos —conocidos internamente como F2U y F2X— que ofrecerán versiones eléctricas, microhíbridas y de gasolina. Además, habrá novedades en Abarth con el 600e Competizione de 280 CV y una nueva versión del Topolino. Jeep: ADN off-road y electrificación adaptada a Europa Jeep nació en 1941 y, tras más de 85 años de historia, sigue fabricando coches bajo la misma fórmula: capacidad, robustez, seguridad, actitud, versatilidad y tecnología. En 2025 la marca matriculó 10.355 unidades en España, con una gama que empezaba a acusar el paso del tiempo en modelos como Renegade o Compass. El gran protagonista fue el Jeep Avenger, con 7.965 unidades vendidas y un crecimiento del 27% respecto a 2024. Este modelo se ha convertido en la puerta de entrada a la marca, ofreciendo versiones gasolina, híbridas, eléctricas y 4xe. Será clave para sostener las ventas en 2026, junto con la llegada del nuevo Compass, con el que Jeep espera crecer un 20%. La estrategia de Jeep en Europa difiere claramente de la de Estados Unidos, con una electrificación mucho más marcada. En los próximos años regresará al segmento D con propuestas tan llamativas como el Jeep Recon, un eléctrico 4x4 de 400 CV con enfoque radical, y el Wagoneer S, con hasta 600 CV. Todo ello sin perder de vista pequeñas actualizaciones del Avenger y una política comercial adaptada al mercado europeo. Wie der Jeep zu seinem Namen gekommen ist, dazu gibt es viele verschiedene Herleitungen. Die zutreffendste dürfte sein, dass es sich dabei um einen von Willys-Overland von 1941 bis 1945 gebauten geländegängigen Wagen für das Militär handelte. Doch diese Geschichte werden wir bei Gelegenheit einmal ausführlich erzählen. Heute sprechen wir intensiver über den Jeep Avenger. Darum geht es diesmal!Es gibt Markennamen, die quasi ein Synonym für alle Produkte dieser Art geworden sind. So werden Papiertaschentücher meistens als „Tempo“ bezeichnet, Klebebänder als „Tesa!“  "Jeep" wurde schnell zu einem Synonym für Geländefahrzeuge. Er geht vermutlich auf den amerikanischen Militärgeländewagen Willys MB und den Begriff „General Purpose“, abgekürzt GP zurück, der dann zu Jeep wurde. Aus dem Hause Jeep stellen wir heute den Avenger vor. Power und Drive!    Den Jeep Avenger gibt es als Benzin-, E-Hybrid-, 4xe- und vollelektrische Version im B-SUV-Segment. Je nachdem sind Leistungsdaten von 74 kW/100 PS, 81 kW/110 PS, 107 kW/145 PS und 115 kW/156 PS verfügbar. Wir stellen das motormäßige Einstiegmodell, also den Benziner mit 74 kW/100 PS, in der höchsten Ausstattung Summit vor. Die Beschleunigung 0-100 km/h wird in 10,6 Sekunden erledigt, mit der Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 184 km/h kann man auch gut leben. Der kombinierte Kraftstoffverbrauch von 5.8 l/100km ist für einen SUV dieser Größe auch nicht zu beanstanden, das gilt natürlich auch für die CO2-Emission von kombiniert 130 g/km. Die Innenausstattung!Wie bereits erwähnt hat unser Testfahrzeug mit Summit die höchste Ausstattung, die mittlere heißt Altitude, die Einstiegsversion Longitude. Man kann sicherlich mit Fug und Recht behaupten: wenn ein Fahrzeug heute eine Einstiegsversion ist, dann hat es in aller Regel alles andere als eine spartanische Ausstattung. Beim Jeep Avenger gehört schon zur Grundausstattung eine Reihe von Assistenzsystemen. Dazu zählen die Geschwindigkeitsregelanlage, ein autonomer Notbremsassistent, die Verkehrszeichenerkennung, der Spurhalte-Assistent, die Müdigkeitserkennung in Bezug auf die Sicherheit, zur Komfortsteigerung Features wie Keyless go, Parksensoren hinten, natürlich auch Apple carplay bzw. Android Auto.Die Kosten!Ich schulde Ihnen noch die Zahlen, die für einen Kauf sicherlich entscheidend sind, die Preise. Die liegen zwischen 25.990, -- Euro, dafür gäbe es unser Testfahrzeug als Longitude, der Summit kostet 29.990, -- Euro. Der teuerste Avenger ist – wie könnte es anders sein – die rein elektrische Version in der Summit-Ausführung für glatte 43.000 Euro! L'Avenger 4xe è dotata di un sistema ibrido dinamico da 48 V, con un motore turbo da 1,2 litri che genera 136 cavalli, abbinato a due motori elettrici da 21 kW, all'anteriore e al posteriore, in grado di muovere entrambi gli assi e di generare una coppia di 1.900 Nm a disposizione delle ruote posteriori. La trasmissione automatica a doppia frizione e sei velocità consente alla vettura di muoversi in elettrico a bassa velocità mentre il sistema di trazione intelligente garantisce la disponibilità della trazione integrale quando necessaria. Il sistema Selec-Terrain è regolabile a seconda delle condizioni del fondo. Il design rispecchia l'anima off-road: i fendinebbia - posizionati più in alto e verso l'esterno - migliorano la visibilità notturna; i paraurti, colorati con finitura antigraffio, nella parte anteriore, espongono la ruota, offrono sicurezza e solidità sui terreni rocciosi e proteggono griglia e sensori. E poi ci sono il gancio traino posteriore, nuove fasce adesive opache opzionali per il cofano, le barre sul tetto, di serie. I sedili sono realizzati con materiali resistenti e lavabili. Il volante è in pelle sintetica, lo schermo da 10,25 pollici offre l'integrazione tra infotainment e dati di guida. A distinguere invece l'edizione limitata sono materiali ancora più resistenti, finiture Summit Gold e motivi topografici che ricordano l'esplorazione e la bellezza del paesaggio naturale. FOLLOW UP: TOYOTA TO CLOSE RUSSIAN PLANTToyota has announced that it will permanently shutter their production facility in Russia. They closed temporarily in March, following the illegal invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces which led to supply issues. PHONE HOLDING DETECTION TRAILDevon and Cornwall police will be trailing a new system that uses “AI” to detect if it believes a driver is using a phone, occupants are not wearing seatbelts and the speed the vehicle is moving at. UBER GOING ALL ELECTRIC BY 2030Uber has stated that it will be going all electric for it's fleet, across the US, Canada and Europe, by 2030. CANTERBURY E-SCOOTER TRIAL ENDS IN NOVEMBERKent County Council has decided not to extend the trial of e-scooters in Canterbury, from the end of November 2022. The Government announced, in the summer, that it is extending the trial until 2024 and existing trials can be extended. The Council's fear is that accidents will increase, although to date one person has been knocked over by someone using a scooter outside the trial area and on the pavement. The car will retain the V8 and is using the current car's base. Whilst it will have the latest infotainment system, it will not get new automated driving tech due to the age of the platform. The likelihood is that this will be the last ICE Mustang made. There will be a track focused version too, called the Dark Horse, with 500hp and roof lining mounted USB ports, to allow those who want cables trailing everywhere for cameras to be safer than currently. Prices are expected, for the regular model, to begin around $60,000 but there is no confirmation that the Mustang will make it across the pond to us in Blighty yet. This will come with a 6.5 litre V12, 725hp and a 0-62mph time of 3.3 seconds. Costing, in Italy, the equivalent of €339,000, UK deliveries are expected to begin in the summer of 2023. Ferrari are limiting production to 2,200 a year. You can learn more, by clicking the Motoring Research article here. Jeep Avenger, Recon and Wagoneer S - Jeep has let us see three new EV cars. A European focused Avenger, which is based on the Peugeot e2008 running gear. The Recon is very much in the Tonka Toy style of design and is all the cooler for it. With the Wagoneer S aimed at luxury SUV buyers, although we are not sure if that will come across The Pond to us in Europe. For more, click this MoveElectric link here. Toyota bZ3 - Toyota has taken the wraps off their next full EV, as part of their move to dedicated electric vehicle options. The saloon is being aimed at the Model 3 area of the market, with it expected to launch in China before coming to Europe.
