The veteran actor-comedian was known for his raw humor in a career that spanned well over 50 years.FYI: For years it was speculated that Buddy Hackett was asked to join the Three Stooges following Curly Howard's stroke in 1946. It turned out that Hackett simply made up the story. This particular myth was debunked by Jules White and Edward Bernds, who each directed many of the Stooges' short film comedies.

Power To Speak with Confidence. Conversations that will inspire and empower.
My guest for this previously LIVE episode of Speaking About Speaking was International Sales Coach, Author of Amazon best seller, Live It, Love It, Sell It, and keynote speaker the fabulous Jules White. I first interviewed Jules for my Creative Conversations podcast in Feb 2021 when we spoke about her passion for sales, growing up in a sweet shop and life after securing investment on Dragons Den (the reason she is known as the ‘real dragon slayer!)' Published in October 2018, Jules book 'Live It, Love It, Sell It' draws on both her passion for selling and her love of human conversation, as well as her experience in corporate sales and as an entrepreneur. The ‘Live it Love it Sell it' methodology helps passionate entrepreneurs and businesses get clarity on their ‘why' and learn how to sell in an authentic human way. As an International Inspirational Sales Speaker she talks about ‘Putting HUMANITY back into sales' and her TEDx talk, to 1600 people at Europe's biggest TEDx in Brighton, focused on ‘there being no such word as can't'. Jules' ultimate aim is to make sure everyone falls in love with sales, because life skills are sales skills! We discuss how speaking on the TEDx stage with little notice or rehearsal benefitted her business and how our fear of rejection makes the selling process feel Icky? We also, talk about how when you you speak with confidence you can sell with confidence! You can find out more about Jules here: https://liveitloveitsellit.co.uk ------------------------------- I'm Jackie Goddard, a speaker (and acting) coach, speaker, content writer and creator. I can get you performance ready and excited about speaking to your audience. So, if you want to talk more in '24 get in touch.

How did I get hired for a plum consulting role in Chile and all the HR roles here in Europe? In this podcast episode, I reveal it all. I don't know anyone who isn't insecure and suffering from low self-confidence at one point or another. I've had more than my share. I talk a lot about how COMPETENCE builds CONFIDENCE. Put the reps in, repeat. It will get better. And it does. What does that mean??Here's my own story, where I have shared my rocky journey on building confidence and self-belief with my fab friend Jules White from back in July 2021:
Jules White is all about learning to love selling by embracing uniqueness and community. Author of 'Live it Love it Sell it' and a Dragons Den slayer - but mainly a really delightful human being. Having recently set up a quirky new membership site and grown a popular free Facebook group - she has much wisdom to share.
With ministers promising a return to normal in classrooms, it's a tough time to be a teacher – but with new information constantly emerging on vaccines for children, and the pandemic not yet over, it's a tough time for parents and pupils too. Yes to Entrepreneurship: Helping you build a better business
In this episode, we talk about how one product, specifically a book that wasn’t even part of the original plan, can take your business to the next level – from one on one consulting to speaking to working with larger companies building out a sales road map that works. Join us for this “sales road trip” with Jules. What's the best career advice you have ever received? Apart from my Dad’s advice - ‘There’s no such word as can’t!’ My old boss from Yellow Pages used to say that every time someone said no to me in sales, I could put £1 in my pocket. Then when I got a yes I would have gathered a pocket full of £1’s towards it and I also learned to not take the no’s personally! What is your proudest career accomplishment and why? Gosh - lots really. There have been some awards I’ve won that I am very proud of - but I think my proudest moment was when my son commented on my TEDx video on YouTube telling me how proud he was of me that was a real moment as he didn’t tell me he had done it! What has been the hardest career moment and how did you overcome it? I lost my business - Truly Madly Baby and lost everything at the same time. I had a choice of going in the corner and crying or getting back up and starting again. I chose the latter - and I am so glad I did. Lovely conversation encompassing the highs and lows of Jules’s journey and her very real insights to help stop your fear of selling.

Growing up we get used to people asking us what we plan on doing for the rest of our lives? We get this question from our parents, grandparents, older siblings, aunts and uncles, teachers, guidance counselors, casual friends of the family, and in my daughter’s case even the driving test inspector. Raise your hand if you said, when I grow up I want to be in sales! Chances are you didn’t raise your hand. That’s because to a lot of people the idea of a career in sales feels icky, yucky and generally unpleasant. Images of Homer Simpson greeting a door to door gun salesmen (or something similar) pop into our head. Truth is most sales people end up in sales by chance or because someone else sees something in them. That was the case for Jules White. Jules is the author of Live It, Love It Sell It and her mission is to help everyone fall in love with sales. It’s an important mission. The world is filled with entrepreneurs that have a great product or service who are terrified of sales. Most often these fears are associated with negative stereotypes or they’ve had a bad experience selling. In this episode explains: That we are all natural born sellers (ever seen a child negotiating with mom and dad for treat). That the key is to make the sales process natural…effortless… and best of all… enjoyable! Why she is thankful her earlier business went bankrupt (believe it or not the problem was too many sales) The problem with most sales training programs is that they focus on tips and tricks that can be used to persuade or convince customers to buy Why introverts and extroverts make great salespeople How you can reduce the number of “no’s” How to get past the fear of rejection and learn to love sales.
