Jasmine Murray is the kind of influencer you want to follow. American Idol top-13 finalist, Miss Mississippi and top 10 Miss America, she’s had to deal with how to be her authentic self while still stepping on stage and trying to impress. Not scared to admit when she can barely get out of bed, or how good it feels to have pushed through a workout she didn’t feel like doing. Honest about her anxiety and depression, as well as her love for fashion, she lives it all with Christ at the center. We had a good ol’ girl chat about all the things! Hope you enjoy this conversation with singer/influencer/powerhouse woman, Jasmine Murray! Follow her @jasminemurrayofficial P.S. - We wanted to share a quick update about our house. We have felt so supported by all of you and are blown away by your generosity. We’ve decided to elevate our house eight feet and make it flood-proof. This is an expensive endeavor but it will allow us to move back in and sleep at night. The total cost will be approximately $60,000 (including new foundation, elevating, engineer, surveyor, contractor, etc). Any gift is appreciated, we literally couldn’t do this without you. You have been our lifeline. Thanks so much

Davina Japaul hosts our 'Joy Radio Special' with Jasmine Murray! Before the age of 22, Jasmine had curated quite a resume: Finalist on “American Idol.” Miss Mississippi title. Top 10 Miss America. Appearances on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and “Live! With Regis & Kelly.” By anyone’s standards, she made it to the top. But the bright lights of success can cast a long, dark shadow. For Jasmine, that shadow hid anxiety that became difficult at times. In the dark, fear whispered she was not good enough. But with a supportive family, a divine songwriting appointment and help from God, she began pushing back and using her platform to show others they are not alone. Davina and Jasmine discuss the inspiration behind songs from her debut album 'Fearless', and the experiences that have contributed to the wisdom and poise she carries. Nobody can deny her talent - But Miss Mississippi 2014 Jasmine Murray, also has an undeniable faith! We asked Jasmine about her faith during one of the first podcasts we ever recorded way back in 2014 - And now, her first single called "Fearless" is currently climbing the Christian music charts! I suspect this isn't the last we'll hear from Jasmine, which is exactly why we thought we'd re-post this podcast! Enjoy!
Well, well, well. Will wonders never cease? It's been one year (to the day) since our last podcast, but the stars aligned and the computers behaved and the connections stabilized and we actually recorded some new content. As always, we feature some very sophisticated topics: Miss Mississippi, the new Dallas, hermit crabs, dermatologist visits, expressions that get on our nerves, The Bachelorette, Mad Men, and so much more. You might want to pace yourself as you listen, especially considering that we've been averaging a podcast a year. So if you play about 5 minutes a month between now and next June, you should be all up to speed by the time we record episode 23 in 2013. Oh, we are pitiful. Also, you should probably be aware that I sound like I'm verrrry far away for the first fifteen or twenty seconds, but it gets much better after that. Apparently it took me a minute to make the final adjustments to my microphone, which is hardly surprising considering what a well-oiled broadcasting machine we're operating. Really, we're just a hair shy of talking to each other on CB radios. And truth be told, that might be easier. But please do enjoy.
