Yahoo has revamped its mobile news app, incorporating artificial intelligence capabilities from Artifact, a news app startup it acquired earlier this year. The new app provides users with highly personalized content based on their interests, using algorithms to process user behavior and serve relevant news stories. With AI-powered summaries and recommendation features, the app aims to revitalize Yahoo's news platform and improve personalization. The app curates articles from over 1,000 news websites, allows customization, and includes features to combat bias and misinformation. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/tonyphoang/message
NewsBreak, a U.S. news app said to have 50 million monthly users, has been caught spreading AI-generated fiction under the guise of news reporting. Several dozen cases are now exposed. Former employees reveal that the app's algorithm was mainly developed in China. Several U.S. lawmakers are urging the Department of Homeland Security to ban imports from two Chinese battery makers. Officials said the companies' supply chains are polluted with forced labor. The United States and its intelligence allies say China is recruiting Western pilots to train its own military. What's the end goal? And how is the regime trying to cover its tracks? A group of victims are reportedly getting punished for seeking justice in China. Chinese citizens who lost their life savings to bank fraud in a recent fraud incident are now facing months-long stints in detention after protesting and demanding justice. ⭕️ Watch in-depth videos based on Truth & Tradition at Epoch TV

One of the most downloaded news app in the United States, named Newsbreak appears to has ties to China, and is allegedly producing fake news using artificial intelligence. In one example, the app published a piece about a small town shooting in Bridgeton, New Jersey, but the shooting never took place. The European Central Bank went ahead with its first interest rate cut since 2019 on Thursday, citing progress in tackling inflation even as it acknowledged the fight was far from over.SpaceX's Starship rocket survived a fiery, hypersonic return from space and achieved a breakthrough landing demonstration in the Indian Ocean on Thursday, completing a full test mission around the globe on the rocket's fourth try.

A popular US news app, NewsBreak, has been accused of using AI to create false news stories, including a bogus report of a shooting in New Jersey and incorrect information about a food bank in Colorado. Despite presenting itself as a legitimate news source, the app has been publishing erroneous stories since 2021, often rewriting press releases and local news with AI tools. NewsBreak has also faced accusations of copyright infringement and has settled cases with at least two publications. Concerns have been raised about the app's Chinese connections, but the CEO claims compliance with US data and privacy laws. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/tonyphoang/message

--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/audiostretto/message

Since it was founded by journalist Jessica Lessin in 2013, The Information has stood out in the tech news landscape for its focus on an ad-free, subscription-driven business model (a focus that seems increasingly prescient). Now, the upcoming launch of an app called Ticker suggests that the company is looking to expand its audience while maintaining that subscription model. The Information describes Ticker as its first consumer app.
