Welcome back, Duckies. A24's Backrooms just released. And after making a groundbreaking $277 million at the box office, your host had to bring it up for discussion. The real question, though, is Hollywood targeting online forums for ideas now? Backrooms, an original idea from Kane Parson's Creepypasta posts, is looking like the new standard. If this works, what's stopping movie execs from using all the best online stories as their own? Well, before they can do that, your host searched the internet for the same thing. So here, in no particular order, are Bubble Bath Stories pitches for the next blockbuster film based on the best Reddit stories we could find. You may have read some of these. There's the wholesome story about Today You, Tomorrow Me. There's a story about a man trying to make the next Christmas spectacular. And even a relationship twist about, well—- we will let Nicky tell you that story! But in all these, your host sees an idea for a real film. We even cast some parts already to keep your imagination going. These pitches might make you go back and re-read the original post, again. Stay away from that Poop Knife story, though. But anyways, you tell us!- What Christmas Cameo would you like to see in Nicky's pitch?- Can you hear Oscar Buzz for Manny's “pay it forward/Nicholas Cage” movie?- So, like whose story crossed the line? (so we can warn the censors)Check out the stories for yourself and give us you best elevator pitch for a movie!https://www.reddit.com/r/BestofRedditorUpdates/s/3lBtol0yrNPost-It Notes Everywherehttps://knowyourmeme.com/memes/today-you-tomorrow-meToday You, Tomorrow Mehttps://www.reddit.com/r/MuseumOfReddit/s/Vj5NqN1lBQThe Poop Knifehttps://x.com/thechosenberg/status/2067374012909363345?s=46Boy Pussyhttps://x.com/miragonz/status/2067653924702834829?s=46The Real Grinch 2https://x.com/fancygoblin_/status/2068095085183373435?s=46The NesterTo keep up with the Ducks in charge follow:FB & IG: @BubblebathstoriesNicky Trendz IG: @nickyTRENDZManny Oso IG: @gotnotime4dissFor official Merch head over to Bubblebathstories.co☎️ Or call us at 347-878-1144 !!!

Mai 2026)
This week we are taking a look at the Amazon Prime superhero/crime series, SPIDER NOIR. It's a pretty big shame that we didn't fantasy book how Ronda Rousey would fare in the Mortal Kombat tournament. There was such an obvious throughline between the MMA talk, Brock Lesnar and Mortal Kombat II and it was right there in front of us. Shame. Would Ronda Rousey last more than 17 seconds against Baraka or Goro? Of course not. She essentially only has one move and good luck catching a guy with knife-hands in an armbar. Would Goro even care if you caught one of his four beefy arms in an armbar? Probably not. You know who might do well in Mortal Kombat? Victor Wembanyama. We talk a little about “The Alien”, who is 7’4″ with a nearly 8 foot wingspan from fingertip to fingertip. If you've got 20 minutes you can watch the full video of 60 highlights but I've timestamped number 9 to give you an idea of how weird this guy moves compared to just about anybody else who's ever played basketball. Anyways, all that to say Scott saw Mortal Kombat II over the weekend and we're pleased to report that it continues and maybe even improves upon 2021's excellent reboot of the series. Injecting Carl Urban into any franchise is a surefire winner I always say. Finally, we've got a very special episode of Garbage Time for you this week where we talk a LOT about 2007's Ghost Rider starring Nicholas Cage. This movie is basically everything you could possibly want from a film where Nicholas Cage plays a stuntman who's head catches on fire who rides a motorcycle and hunts down demons and bad guys. Oh and he also drinks jellybeans out of a martini glass. There is just no way that was in the script. That's pure Cage baby. Enjoy. If you would like to show your support and head over to Patreon and subscribe at the 9ES Deluxe tier to listen to this and all past episodes of Garbage Time that would be appreciated. The review embargo lifted today for The Mandalorian and Grogu, and the bag is more than a little mixed. Critics are either praising the film for its fun action adventure nature of the bounty hunter and his foundling or others are saying the film does not live up to the iconography that Lucasfilm and Star Wars is known for as well as having too small of a story for the big screen. With this being the first Star Wars film in seven years, a lot is likely riding on the performance of Din Djarin and Din Grogu. Ebon Moss-Bachrach has been quietly dishing details on not only Avengers: Doomsday but Secret Wars across his various media appearances in recent days. On Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast, the Thing actor admitted the Doomsday script he read didn't have a finished third act saying, "I don't think it had an ending,” and described the production as so compartmentalized and "interstellar" that he'd repeatedly go back to Joe Russo to have the multiverse threading re-explained. Then in a separate chat with the Dog Day Afternoon Broadway team, a play based on the 1975 film the actor is performing in, he casually dropped that Secret Wars filming kicks off in August 2026, right after his stage run wraps in mid-July.HBO set August 16 as the premiere date for Lanterns and dropped a new trailer that complicates the show's dark, earth-based mystery pitch with shots of Kyle Chandler's Hal Jordan in the classic Green Lantern uniform and what appears to be an off-world setting. The trailer also confirms Nathan Fillion is reprising his role as Guy Gardner and reveals Laura Linney in an undisclosed part opposite Aaron Pierre's John Stewart. Matt Reeves used a series of X posts last week to officially welcome Brian Tyree Henry and Sebastian Koch to Gotham for The Batman: Part II. They join the previously confirmed additions of Scarlett Johansson as Gilda Dent, Sebastian Stan as Harvey Dent, and Charles Dance as Harvey's father Christopher. Henry, a Marvel alum from Eternals who also memorably appeared in 2019's Joker, marks his second trip into the DC sandbox, while Koch is known for his prestige work appearing in films like Bridge of Spies. Michael continued another strong run at the box office this weekend and has now crossed $700 million dollars worldwide while the Devil Wears Prada 2 also continued its solid streak, crossing the $500 million dollar mark internationally. Mortal Kombat 2 crossed the $100 million dollar mark in its second weekend. Horror film Obsession opened very well with $23 million dollars worldwide, a big opening for a film from a first time director acquired out of a film festival. Marvel is making some changes to leadership in its comics division. The company has promoted Brad Winderbaum, already its chief of television and animation, to head of Marvel television, animation, comics and franchise. At the same time, David Abdo, former manager of Disney's music division, will transition to serve as Marvel's general manager, comics and franchise, reporting to Winderbaum. With the new top leadership coming in, that means that Dan Buckley, the longtime Marvel Comics head, is departing. Buckley will remain at Marvel through mid-2027 to support the leadership transition.HBO's Harry Potter series will already be recasting a role as production begins on season 2. Actress Gracie Cochrane, who portrays Ginny Weasley in the upcoming season 1 will not return for Season 2 of the series due to 'unforeseen circumstances,' Cochrane and her family revealed in a statement.Disney+ has begun development on Ella Enchanted, a TV series based on the 2004 Miramax fairytale film of the same name that starred Anne Hathaway, who will return to produce the series. Anyone But You writer Ilana Wolpert will serve as showrunner.A final look trailer for Prime's Spider-Noir, starring Nicholas Cage, was dropped today.
An FBI chemical weapons expert (Oscar-winner Nicholas Cage) and a former SAS soldier turned political prisoner (Oscar-winner Sean Connery) must break into Alcatraz prison when a rogue military group, lead by a renegade general (Oscar-nominee Ed Harris), has taken it over and are now threatening a nerve gas attack on San Franscisco. This high-octane action thriller was a huge smash when released in the Summer of 1996 and helped cement director Michael Bay (Bad Boys, Armageddon, Transformers, Pearl Harbor) as an established brand of filmmaker for decades to come. The stacked supporting cast also includes John Spencer, David Morse, William Forsythe, Vanessa Marcil, Tony Todd, Bokeem Woodbine, and Michael Biehn among several others. “He's the best part of this movie” - Chris on Dennis FranzOn this week's show, Remake-ril heads to Los Angeles as we chat about the sappy Hollywood remake, City of Angels! A reimagining of Wim Wenders' 1987 masterpiece, Wings of Desire, this film features Nicholas Cage as the lovelorn angel… Seth? How great, truly, is Dennis Franz in this movie? Why couldn't they have kept Meg's character a trapeze artist instead of switching it to a doctor? Should these angels be watching stuff like bath tub shenanigans? How weird is it to hear Sarah McLachlin's “Angel” when that dog PSA isn't on your TV? Does Colm Feore's character give one of the worst movie marriage proposals of all time? And was that Michael Mann as the cigarette-smoking bar extra? PLUS: What a Rolling Rock commercial! City of Angels stars Meg Ryan, Nicholas Cage, Andre Braugher, Colm Feore, Robin Bartlett, Joanna Merlin, and Dennis Franz as Mr. Messinger; directed by Brad Silberling. This episode is brought to you by Hims! New Hampshire Unscripted talks with the performance arts movers and shakers
(Celebrating 80yrs of the most excellent community radio!) Some things just don't compute. Can you picture Dick Van Dyke as James Bond? How about Nicholas Cage as Superman? Well those are some of the VERY interesting tidbits that Daniel Siletti brings to today's WKXL's NH Unscripted episode. Many of the stars in lead roles weren't the first casting choice, but, now we can't think of anybody BUT the final choice. Casting choices: That's what we're chatting about.
This time, we discuss Nicholas Cage, Bill Maher, rage baiting, the Easter Bunny, Critters, and Christopher Reeve. Send us Fan MailSeason 17's Hack 4x4 continues as predictable as the weather in the City of Angels (no relationship to the previously covered film, and host Ken's favorite motion picture remake, see S4,E4 for more on the Nicholas Cage movie with this sobriquet for a title) with this week's third entry in the Mick Jackon canon: L.A. STORY (1991). Written by and starring Steve Martin at the arguable pinnacle of his comedic film stardom (Father of the Bride would be released the same year), L.A. Story is the flick that immigrated Jackson to the States after Martin had seen Jackson's acclaimed British dramatic television series subsequent to the success of Threads (S17,E1). Jackson, who had no background in nor ever directed a comedy, initially declined the offer, believing the script too good and having too little knowledge of Los Angeles (and likely the SoCal, California, U.S., & North America regions). Yet Martin and his producer believed Jackson's latter objection an asset; he'd have an outsider's perspective on what's been described as a satirical love-letter to the eccentricities of L.A. The comedy follows Martin in the role of a wacky bachelor weatherman in a zany Los Angeles full of neon and plastic surgery, and this was the extent of the movie that Thomas (who picked the director and his four for the 4x4) knew prior to this, his first watch. Between its mixture of Zucker Brothers' and Mel Brooks's absurdist and sight gag humor with the occasional Groucho Marx-level clever wordplay is a love story between Martin's weatherman (((“meteorologist”))) and Victoria Tennant's first-time visiting L.A. British reporter (((“journalist”))) as Martin shows Tennant's character around L.A., guided by a sentient variable message highway traffic sign (((“WHAT I REALLY WANT TO DO IS DIRECT”))). As this romantic comedy proceeds with Shakespeare references, including an appearance of the sexiest man to ever grace the screen Rick Moranis as a Hamlet-esque gravedigger, but also a rapping waiter, Martin roller-skating through art museums, and a very bouncy Sarah Jessica Parker as SanDeE* (((“Big s, small a, small n, big d, small e, big e, and there's a little star at the end.”))), Martin's and Tennant's characters learn no easy lessons or manifest grand revelations. Rather than have their characters evolve and develop and expiate, the movie has instead adults fairly realistically portrayed with Richard E. Grant as Tennant's ex-husband wanting to rekindle the flame and a casual take on monogamy. This episode, no Jack, but guest Andi drops in to mix up her Micks, Thomas his Sarahs, and Ryan his quotes from next episode's The Bodyguard. Meanwhile Ken quietly reflects on the last Thanksgiving he spent with his cohosts and Kevin Spacey reenters the chat. Before the end of the ep, Ryan and Andi harmonize on a 90s rap classic on their way to a Mick Jackson theme song. Fans of the pod will learn Andi likes a break in them, Thomas isn't big on this comedy, Ken surprised its comedy's not cringe, and Ryan's people once migrated in the summers to L.A. to rollerblade. That sounds good. We'll also have a twist of lemon.
