He has been a supporter of President Donald Trump and a believer and disseminator of the QAnon conspiracy theory.Chansley attended demonstrations in the Phoenix, Arizona, area starting around 2019, in particular in a march for climate. At rallies, he promoted conspiracy theories supporting Trump, and he has been a counterprotestor at Black Lives Matter events. He was sentenced to 41 months in prison and was released early after 27 months for good behaviour. Donald Trump has had his chance to testify to the Grand Jury or demand that evidence be submitted to the Grand Jury or other witnesses be questioned BY the Grand Jury and all evidence suggests he didn't even bother to say ‘no thanks' and Smith can and will indict him at any time on god-knows-HOW-many-violations of US Code 18 Section 241 Conspiracy Against Rights (the suppression of vote counting statute, with or without violence), US Code 18 Section 371 Conspiracy To Defraud The United States, and US Code 18 Section 1512 Corruptly Obstructing An Official Proceeding – and the only question is, WHEN Smith notifies him and when Trump pauses from chain-eating cheeseburgers and threatening revolutions long enough to leak the news. On “The Simon Conway Show” in Des Moines, just getting viral last night, Trump again stochastically threatens terrorism if he's jailed, saying his supporters are 200 times more fired up than last time. And forgetting he now longer is in charge of the tanks. You will also recall on the 27th of last month when McCarthy went on CNBC and said “Can Trump win that election? Yeah he can. The question is, is he the STRONGEST to win the election? I don't know the answer” and within hours he was back on TV insisting oh yes he DID now the answer and it was Trump is stronger than Hercules and it was clear Trump had yelled at McCarthy, possibly on the phone and possibly simply by opening the window and yelling at him across the country. Politico reports Trump demanded of McCarthy “he needs to endorse me – today!”   McCarthy, who is of course WITH Trump Win, Win, or Tie, had to come up with a bullshit excuse to NOT endorse Trump. Quickly. So quickly you wouldn't believe it. To his credit he cobbled together some sophistry - that he had to remain neutral through the primaries because if he didn't, HIS relationship with HIS caucus could influence which ones of them did and didn't endorse Trump. Trump bought it but was still enraged and demanded a pound of McCarthy and now McCarthy made his fatal mistake. “The house would vote to expunge the two impeachments against the former president. And as McCarthy would communicate through aides later the same day, they would do so before August recess.” And now, Politico says, “we're told that Trump brings up the matter in EVERY CALL he has with McCarthy, prodding the speaker about WHEN he will bring expungement to the floor.” Oh and guess what. Meanwhile after a day of utter silence, Russia's second-favorite American Tucker Carlson actually mentioned Jacob Chansley, the Q Shaman. One mention. Literally. No explanation what happened to his wall-to-wall-coverage of the worst attack on American freedom unwoke non-CRT conspiracy. Media Matters discovers a text in which Carlson praised and disseminated the writings of a racist holocaust denier, only 2-1/2 years ago. He sent somebody close enough to Carlson to have his cell number a link to a column written by David Cole - who denies that Auschwitz was an extermination camp and questions whether six million Jewish people perished in the Holocaust. Carlson added "This is a good piece." That Carlson would praise such scum is hardly news: he works for Fox "News." But this shocker coming out at such a critical time for him and Fox is indeed news. Because it reopens the 2019 scandal that vanished into the pandemic year, in which radio recordings surfaced of Carlson being crassly racist and sexist, and insulting in those ways to the likes of everybody from Barack Obama to Martha Stewart's daughter. Carlson also defended convicted child rapist Warren Jeffs and attacked statutory rape laws. His other problems continue. A fourth night of "January 6 Video" produced only more re-runs. And he impeached his own Wednesday guest. The Q Shaman's first attorney Albert Watkins was, on Wednesday, a victim of the vast plot Carlson claimed to have uncovered. But last night Watkins became a villain who had let the "shaman" down. In point of fact, Watkins had been fired after he called his client "retarded" and one of the "short bus people" and Watkins was cited for "ineffective assistance of counsel." Every time Rupert Murdoch and Fox have squirmed out of a scandal they've done so by firing somebody big: Roger Ailes, Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly. This Thursday, December 30, at 5 pm, Scotty Hertz and Adam A. Donaldson will discuss: Worst Politician of 2021. Sadly, the number of candidates for this category were overwhelming this year. Sadly, we don't have Donald Trump to kick around anymore, but he's left an awful lot of bad actors in his wake to take up the cause. But don't think we're any better up here in Canada, because we've got a lot of duds on this side of the border too. From pandemic inaction to bad messaging, who is the worst of the worst in 2021? Good News Story of the Year. You may be surprised to learn that there was good news in 2021. There were some diamonds in the rough, even though that roughness was very extra this year, but we did the hard work to dig deep and find that good news we so desperately need. For the most part, it's about people. The ones whose hard work and perseverance gave us hope, and reminded us that we can still do great things. Dumpster Fire of the Year. Like the Worst Politician of the Year, this category offered an embarrassment of riches, emphasis on the "embarrassment." From the deluge of anti-lockdown/ant-mask/anti-COVID political action, to an election that no one wanted and fewer seemed to care about, to that mess in the U.S. Capitol on January 6 that now half the country wants ignore. We're going to need a bigger dumpster! Best Politician of 2021. Yes, the arc of the universe bent towards awfulness this year, but all that darkness did make the few candidates that shine appear brighter in comparison. As usual, we will end the year end awards show by highlighting the ones who are doing good works, and usually not making a lot of noise about it, but as we enter 2022, we will note again for the record that "Politician" is not always a four-letter word.
