(STINGER: WWE) Expect some fallout from Thursday's Crown Jewel pay per view on tonight's SmackDown. Roman Reigns is STILL the Universal Champion coming out of Crown Jewel. He took advantage of a knocked-out referee, hit Brock Lesnar in the head with the title belt and pinned him to retain the gold. That title belt was slid into the ring by Paul Heyman, but who it was intended for was left...deliberately vague. Tonight's SmackDown is also the first WWE show with the new post-Draft rosters now in effect...and the situation involving the two women's singles championships on WWE's main roster remains a bit of a mess. Becky Lynch is still the SmackDown Women's Champion. She pinned Sasha Banks with a rollup while holding the bottom rope to win a 3-Way over Banks and Bianca Belair. So, Lynch is now officially part of the Raw roster, despite holding the SmackDown Women's Title...while Charlotte Flair is now on the SmackDown roster while holding the Raw Women's Title. We still don't know what WWE is going to do about this. Getting back to Crown Jewel...Big E hit the Big Ending and pinned Drew McIntyre to retain the WWE Championship. Xavier Woods is the King Of The Ring. He pinned Finn Balor with a springboard elbow drop. Zelina Vega is the first winner of the Queen's Crown tournament. She pinned Doudrop with a Code Red after about six minutes of action. Goldberg pinned Bobby Lashley to win their No Holds Barred match...after Goldberg speared Lashley off the stage. Edge beat Seth Rollins in their Hell In A Cell showdown. Mansoor beat Mustafa Ali. After the match, Tarek Hamdi, an Olympic silver medalist for Saudi Arabia in taekwondo, showed up and knocked out Ali. Randy Orton & Riddle beat AJ Styles & Omos to retain the Raw Tag Titles. Styles took the pin. The Usos beat Shelton Benjamin & Cedric Alexander on the kickoff show. On Thursday's NXT UK… Jordan Devlin pinned Joe Coffey with the Devlin Side in the main event. Aleah James pinned Xia Brookside with a diving sunset flip from the second rope. Xia was NOT happy about this result. Jack Starz & Dave Mastiff got a DQ win over Symbiosis after Eddie Dennis attacked Starz with a steel chair. (STINGER: AEW) AEW's World Title Eliminator Tournament begins on tonight's Rampage...with Orange Cassidy vs. Powerhouse Hobbs. The TBS Championship Tournament bracket will be revealed. Also, AEW Women's Champion Dr. Britt Baker vs. Anna Jay… And Andrade El Idolo vs. Pac. (STINGER: New Japan) The biggest story to come out of Thursday may be one we didn't expect - the surprise in-ring return of Katsuyori Shibata. It happened just after the intermission of New Japan's G1 Climax Final show. Just about everyone was stunned to see Shibata walk out for an unannounced exhibition match against Zack Sabre Jr. Wearing little more than shorts and sneakers, the two grappled their way to a time limit draw after a mere FIVE minutes of action. This was NOT a hard-hitting match...but for fans of Shibata...it was something...and the hope that there may be more to come. Shibata was forced into retirement by a head injury, suffered during a match back in 2017. The G1 Climax final itself...was a bit of a buzzkill. Kota Ibushi injured his right arm when he missed a Phoenix Splash. It was ruled that Ibushi could not continue...and Kazuchika Okada was declared the G1 winner. (STINGER: Impact) Impact Wrestling last night put the final pieces in place for Saturday's Bound For Glory pay per view. The Good Brothers will defend the Impact Tag Titles in a 3-Way against BOTH FinJuice AND Bullet Club's Chris Bey & Hikuleo. The challenging teams met last night - but the match ended in a double pin...after two referees ended up in the ring and both counted a pinfall. The six wrestlers who will meet on Saturday to decide the first Impact Digital Media Champion came together for a 3-Way Tag Team Match last night. John Skyler & Tenille Dashwood beat Crazzy Steve & Chelsea Green and Jordynne Grace & Fallah Bahh. Dashwood pinned Fallah Bahh after hitting him with the Spotlight Kick. Also last night...Mickie James pinned Savannah Evans with her signature DDT. Trey Miguel beat Alex Zayne. AND Brian Myers kicked Sam Beale and Manny Lemons out from under his Learning Tree. W. Morrissey beat Jake Something on Before The Impact. (STINGER: ROH) It's all Violence Unlimited vs. The Foundation on this weekend's Ring Of Honor TV. Jay Lethal goes one on one with Homicide. Plus, Tony Deppen vs. Rhett Titus...and Brody King & Chris Dickinson vs. Jonathan Gresham & HOT SAUCE Tracy Williams. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Friday, October 22. (STINGER: WWE) Just days before TakeOver 36 on Sunday...NXT is rolling out a pair of title matches on tonight's show. Kushida defends his cruiserweight championship against Roderick Strong. Plus, MSK put the NXT Tag Titles on the line against Imperium's Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner. Also tonight, the second semifinal match in the NXT Breakout Tournament: Duke Hudson vs. Carmelo Hayes. RKBro is BACK! And they'll challenge AJ Styles & Omos for the Raw Tag Titles at SummerSlam. Riddle rescued Orton from a beating at the hands of Omos. Orton declared he respects Riddle and the two shook hands. Earlier, Styles pinned Riddle with the Styles Clash. Also added to SummerSlam, Alexa Bliss vs. Eva Marie. Drew McIntyre beat Veer & Shanky in a 2-on-1 match, pinning Shanky with a Claymore. That means Veer & Shanky will be banned from ringside for McIntyre's match against Jinder Mahal at SummerSlam. Rhea Ripley pinned Raw Women's Champion Nikki ASH with the Riptide in a non-title match. After the match, Nikki went after Charlotte Flair, who was sitting in on commentary. That led to a tag team main event, where Charlotte & Nia Jax beat Nikki & Rhea. Charlotte pinned Rhea. Damian Priest pinned The Miz with a Brogue Kick - right in front of United States Champion Sheamus, who was on commentary at the time. John Morrison walked out on Miz during the match. Earlier, he learned Miz had been medically cleared for WEEKS before he finally got out his wheelchair last Monday. Mansoor got an outside assist from Mustafa Ali and pinned Mace. NXT Champion Karrion Kross quickly submitted Jeff Hardy with the Kross Jacket in a non-title match. Survivor Series is set for Sunday, November 21st at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. (STINGER: AEW) Tonight's AEW Dark has a big 8-Man Tag - Jurassic Express and the Varsity Blonds teaming up against The Wingmen. Also tonight, the ELITE HUNTER Frankie Kazarian vs. Brandon Cutler...Matt Hardy vs. Wheeler Yuta. Some notable names will make their AEW debuts. Lee Moriarty goes up against Dante Martin...and Masha Slamovich faces Penelope Ford. Plus, Kiera Hogan gets another look against Kris Statlander. Hogan made her AEW debut on last night's Elevation...with a loss to Hikaru Shida. Also on last night's show...Diamante pinned Julia Hart after she misdirected the referee, pulled a chain out of a corner pad and then hit Julia with it. Diamante continued to beatdown after the match until Big Swole ran in for the rescue. Joey Janela used a handful of tights to roll up and pin Alan “5” Angels...and the Lucha Brothers beat The Hybrid2. New names announced for the NWA's Empowerrr pay per view on August 28th. The AEW tandem of Red Velvet & KiLynn King will be in the NWA Women's Tag Team Title tournament. Plus, Thunder Kitty will be in the Invitational Cup battle royale. (STINGER: ROH) On this past weekend's Ring Of Honor TV...Max The Impaler beat Hollidead in a first-round match in the women's title tournament. Also, Flip Gordon pinned Homicide to win a 10-Man “All-Stars vs. Champions” Tag Team main event. (STINGER: New Japan) COVID-19 concerns are leading to more changes for New Japan. This all started over the weekend, when IWGP World Heavyweight Champ Shingo Takagi and BUSHI were found to have fevers. The results of PCR tests still aren't back. So, Shingo and BUSHI are off of Tuesday's show...along with Testsuya Naito, SANADA, Yujiro Takahashi, Dick Togo and Gedo. The winner of New Japan's Super Junior Tag League will be decided on Tuesday's show. First, Junior Heavyweight Champ Robbie Eagles & Tiger Mask face Ryusuke Taguchi & Master Wato. Eagles & Tiger Mask are still alive in the tournament but they need to win and get some help. The main event has the Junior Tag Champs Taiji Ishimori & El Phantasmo vs. El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru. If the Bullet Club tandem wins they take the tournament. If Despy & Kanemaru win, we could have a three-way tiebreaker to sort out. Getting back to Togo & Gedo, their absence from Monday's show means they'll miss their final Super Junior Tag League match. Their opponents, Roppongi 3K, dissolved as a team. So, New Japan is declaring the match a double forfeit - with neither team receiving any points. The breakup of Roppongi 3K was a violent one. SHO hung YOH out to dry during their match Monday against Despy & Kanemaru. YOH eventually succumbed to the numbers. After the match, SHO made his intentions clear and attacked YOH. Results from Monday night's Raw and Ring Of Honor's weekend TV are straight ahead in this update but first… (STINGER: WWE) We're learning more about the WWE Network's jump to Peacock in the United States. In a news release Monday, we learned there will NOT be an automatic migration for existing network subscribers. They'll need to sign up for Peacock Premium on their own. Peacock is running a special offer for the next month - FOUR months of Peacock Premium access for $9.99. If you have Comcast or Cox cable, you may already get Peacock Premium for free. WWE's Peacock Era begins March 18th. There will be an “overlap” period. On Monday, we learned that'll last a little over two weeks - ending on April 4th. That's when the existing WWE Network app will cease operation. We also got more details about the Network content on Peacock. Not everything currently on the Network will be available when it launches on Peacock. WWE said Peacock is promising to have the entire network archive “available to stream on demand before SummerSlam”. At launch, the WWE Network on Peacock is promising every pay per view over the last calendar year... NXT episodes the day after they air... Raw and SmackDown episodes 30 days after they air… Plus, WWE original programming and documentaries. Live fans WILL be in attendance at WrestleMania. WWE announced tickets go on sale next Tuesday. There will also be an exclusive presale opportunity for fans who register. Last night's Raw opened with the new WWE Champion Bobby Lashley defending against The Miz. Miz lasted a little longer than he did last Monday, but eventually submitted to the Hurt Lock. Drew McIntyre is being called the “presumptive” next challenger to Lashley. Drew brawled backstage with Sheamus. They later met in a No DQ Match...that ended when both men ran into one another while carrying steel ring steps. The referee determined that Sheamus could not continue and called off the match. Randy Orton and AJ Styles went at it in the main event. The end came when Alexa Bliss appeared on the ‘tron. Fire shot from the ring posts...Randy started to cough up BLACK GOO again...caught a Phenomenal Forearm from AJ and got pinned. Braun Strowman got an apology from Shane McMahon. Later, Shane not-so-subtly implied that Braun is stupid. That led to Braun chasing Shane backstage, where Shane was able to lose him. Reginald resurfaced on Raw, in the corner of the women's tag champs Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. Reginald was fired by Carmella in Friday's SmackDown. Jax and Baszler successfully defended their tag titles against Naomi and Lana. Jax pinned Lana. The New Day will challenge The Hurt Business for the Raw Tag Titles on next Monday's Raw. Xavier Woods beat Shelton Benjamin in a one-on-one match last night. Another title match made for next Monday: Riddle defends the U.S. Title against Mustafa Ali. Jay Briscoe and EC3 were also in the match, but they brawled all the way backstage. Also on that show - Dalton Castle essentially saved his ROH career. He used a rollup to beat Josh Woods in a Pure Rules Match. After the match, Woods was confronted by his old tag partner Silas Young. But it's not clear if they'll reunite. I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Sunday, December 20, 2020. This update is sponsored by IndyWrestling.us. Tonight, it's the final WWE pay-per-view of the year - TLC. Six matches have been announced, including two championship matches being contested under TLC rules. Roman Reigns defends the Universal Title against Kevin Owens. And AJ Styles challenges Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship. Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax will defend their women's tag team titles against Asuka...and a mystery partner. Sasha Banks puts the SmackDown Women's Title on the line against Carmella. Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander challenge Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods for the Raw Tag Titles. And Randy Orton faces The Fiend in the first-ever Firefly Inferno Match. WWE is keeping the details of that stipulation under wraps. The Kickoff show begins at 6PM ET - The main show starts at 7. Jey Uso has been a big part of Reigns' title run. And it won't be long until Jimmy Uso returns to full-time action. Jey says he expects his brother back by January or February. (Jey Uso On Jimmy Injury) Jey speaking with WWE German language commentator Walandi Tsanti for ProSieben MAXX. Injury news following Ring Of Honor's Final Battle...and it is not good news for Mike Bennett. He tweeted that he'll be out for the next 6 weeks with a hairline fracture in his ankle. Another day of trademark filing news. Heel By Nature first to report WWE filing for a trademark for the name “The Collective” - the same name Game Changer Wrestling has used for one of its signature events for years. However, this may not be an issue for either side. WWE's filing appears to be for a stable or tag team - NOT an event. And GCW owner Brett Lauderdale tweeted on Saturday “everything will be ok”. Meanwhile, AEW may have tipped its hand on the new program it's developing for Warnermedia. Heel By Nature also first to report AEW filed a trademark for the name “AEW Elevation”. A new match for Wednesday's NXT just announced yesterday - the NXT Tag Team Titles will be on the line Wednesday night. Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch will defend against Drake Maverick and Killian Dane. And it will be a Street Fight. The first broadcast from New Japan's Road To The Tokyo Dome tour is happening Monday morning. That will be a FREE show on New Japan World starting at 4:30 AM ET. The main event is a 6-man tag. LIJ's Tetsuya Naito, SANADA and BUSHI vs Bullet Club's Jay White, EVIL and Dick Togo. This will be the first time White and EVIL have ever tagged. This week, I take a look back at Extreme Rules 2017. It took place on June 4th at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, MD. Big matches on the card included Dean Ambrose vs. Miz for the IC Title, The Hardy Boyz vs. The Bar in a Steel Cage match for the RAW Tag Titles, and Samoa Joe vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns vs. Finn Balor vs. Seth Rollins in an Extreme Rules Match to determine the #1 contender for the Universal Championship. Hear my thoughts on those matches and and more as I take a look back at Extreme Rules 2017.
WrestleMania 36 is in the books and the guys are here to breakdown every bit of the action and share their thoughts in the only Wrestling Recap too big for just one part! In part 2 Chris and Kyle jump straight into all the action by breaking down Sunday night's pre-show match between Natalya and Liv Morgan before moving on to the main card! Was Rhea Ripley strong enough to overcome the Queen, Charlotte? Could Aleister Black overcome the odds against Bobby Lashley? What exactly is a Firefly Funhouse match? All this is answered plus they share their thoughts on the results of Otis vs. Ziggler, the return of Edge, Gronk winning the 24/7 championship, Street Prophets vs. Garza/Theory for the Raw Tag Titles, Bayley defending the SmackDown Women's Championship in a fatal five way, and whether or not Drew McIntyre was able to slay the beast Brock Lesnar!Follow GeeK KetchUP and the guys:Twitter:@geekketchuppod @TheEmceeKyle @Heckorino Instagram: @geekketchuppod @keccard2 @ltdwarrior926Facebook: GeeK KetchUP PodcastWebsite: www.geekketchuppodcast.com Music Credits:Driving Rock - AShamaluevMusicMusic Link: https://www.patreon.com/ashamaluevmusic
Due to quarantine, KP tackles all of the wacky world of Sports Entertainment on this week before The Royal Rumble. But don't worry, he makes sure you get the details on anything and everything you may have missed from the continuing saga between Rusev, Liv, Lana and Lashley--which includes a mixed tag match--the Raw Tag Titles changing hands, the North American Championship bout between Roderick Strong and Keith Lee, and the continuedi in-ring return of the Usos! A lot happens, so be sure to check this out before the Rumble so you don't miss a thing!
Phillip and Brandon, talk about The Monday Night Messiah and his newest disciple winning the RAW Tag Titles, Kenny Omega and Hangman Adam Page win the AEW Tag Team Championships, Jericho pins Marko Stunt, AEW Dynamite on a cruise ship, and the boys give their predictions for The Royal Rumble as we kick start the road to Wrestlemania!!!
The 24-7 Championship is now in the hands of Maria Kanellis and her fatherless unborn child. Who attempted to take out Roman Regins? The Man's Man, Seth Rollins is beaten, brutalized, and victimized by The Beast Brock Lesnar. The OC picks up the Raw Tag Titles. Jon Moxley and unbeaten Okada and continue to lead the G1 Climax standings. AEW begins to book their debut show on TNT.
The Wretched Boys return after a 1 week hiatus to discuss all the latest in the world of the WWE. They discuss in length the Nia Jax and Ronda Rousey feud in which "the E" can't seem to decide whether Nia is a heel or face. They also discuss the evolving feud between Sami Zayn and Bobby Lashley and how their attempts at getting Lashley over have been backfiring. Also discussed is the B-Team becoming the #1 Contenders for the Raw Tag Titles and the lack of quality teams on Raw in general. They also discuss Drew McIntyre's rise on the main roster with Dolph Ziggler but lament the missteps of having them eliminated first in the battle royal. Baron Corbin being named the "constable" of Raw is another head-scratcher that's discussed in length, in addition to the WWE referees making 2 blunders and having 2 women "injury" angles on the same show (who writes this crap?). They also discuss Samoa Joe's insertion into the Money in the Bank ladder match and early picks on who the potential winner will be now that the entire deck is stacked. Finally, Craig and Fred also discuss Big Cass's lackluster return in the ring and on the mic and trying to find a way to make him relevant again. Craig finally met Maria (Fred's gf), but he has resevations about the woman who was escorted to Craig's BBQ for Memorial Day. Will it pay off? There's only one way to find out and listen!
